GEICO Reviews (%countItem)

I had been with Geico for about five years and never had an accident with them (or any other auto insurance provider). I got into my first at fault accident last year under Geico and just received my new monthly payments. They had increased my payment by FOUR TIMES the original amount. Making it so my car insurance payment was now DOUBLE my car payment. When I called they gave me some really lame justifications, not sure how much of it was actually true. I saw how they decided to treat loyal costumers and took my business elsewhere. The whole point of insurance is to support a customer in these very RARE occurrences, not to screw them over once an accident happens. I would stay away, they'll never get my business again.

As with all of the most recent complaints, Geico has continuously increased my payments ever 6 months by at least $50. They quote "statistics," blah, blah, blah. I am shopping around and even if I don't find a better rate elsewhere, I might still jump ship to a company that won't stick me in the a$$ every 6 months.

I was hit by a geico customer.geico and police confirmed their customer was at fault.geico strung me along and authorized rental and damage estimate and supplement. one day before
my car was finished geico told me the policy would not cover the rental car and I was responsible for payment.I spoke to a terron and taeisha and was turned down on coverage of rental car geico authorized.what they did was drop the ball. geico authorized rentlal and damages without checking their customers policy limits.other wise they were spending my money but did brother to tell me until I called them and advised them car was ready I ask geico to reach out to their policy holder for assistance and was told that was my problem now and they were not going to do anything else.so now I owe over $2000 for a rental they authorized. they did say sorry " but would not admit they strung me along and were in incompetent. good luck when you get hit by a geico policy holder".

I’ve been with Geico for the last four years. In August of 2017 I purchased a new car and added it to my account with Geico. Without my permission or acceptance Geico addeda mechanical break down rider to my policy. This rider if gone undetected by me would have cost me thousands of dollars. Thankfully I noticed the charge after 6 months. It was an additional charge of $13.51 a month. A new car is warranted for 2 to 3 years bumper to bumper and in my case I would not purchase an extended coverage. His charge in my opinion is fraudulent. I tried to explain my displeasure to many Geico representatives and supervisory personnel but was told they would not refund the additional premiums that I was charged.

My insurance company is refusing to fix a problem they caused. I was in a car wreck and was hurt. Problem is when I started full coverage I told Geico to add medical coverage. They confirmed on the phone with me they add it but they never did and lied to me and doing illegally policy and action against coustmer and me. When I called to make medical claim problem was notice by me what they said. By law they have to pay for my claim.things there doing is illegally wrongful . They are at fault for this issue and also never let you speak to a CEO or any higher level and lie a fake as that position which they are not .

***,

We are in receipt of your correspondence dated January 18, 2018. The policy involved is a North Carolina rated personal auto policy with liability coverage that was in effect at the time of loss.

*** contacted us on December 10, 2017 and reported that as he was operating his 2008 ***, he slid on ice and collided with a police vehicle and a guardrail. We inspected ***’s 2008 *** on December 13, 2017 and have paid $2,144.70 to date under his collision coverage. We will be handling the related damage to the police vehicle and guardrail under ***’s property damage coverage.

*** requested we pay for his medical bills and pain and suffering related to this loss. Unfortunately, *** did not carry medical payment coverage on his policy at the time of the loss. In addition, we explained to him that his bodily injury coverage does not apply as he was the driver of his vehicle and is negligent for the accident. As such, we are unable to handle his medical or pain and suffering as requested since there is no applicable coverage under this policy.

Our records show *** and the 2008 *** was previously insured on his parent’s policy. *** obtained a quote for only liability coverage for the 2008 ***. *** accepted this quote and the policy was made effective October 26, 2016. We do not have any record *** ever called and requested to add Medical Payments coverage to his policy. Since Mr. Ketterman’s policy did not include Medical Payments coverage when his loss occurred, we are unable to provide Medical Payments coverage for the December 10, 2017 loss. *** has added Medical Payments coverage to his policy effective December 14, 2017 in the event of any future losses.

Thank you for the opportunity to address your inquiry. Please contact Mark B at , if you have any questions regarding this matter.

My vehicle has never been on my parents insurance at all. It's my own vehicle. This company has lied and they said they add medical when I started full coverage on the phone with them but they don't keep records past 30days. Plus this is my own policy for my car . But they never add it when they were supposed to they are covering up there mistake to advoid settle this claim with me by law they have to settle and pay up for this claim. This is not the first time Geico has done this to people. I did have that coverage but they took it off before it was put down also they tried to remove my coverage with out my consent. And with out telling me. Claim is not settle. I demand to be compensated for my pain and suffering from this wreck and have my hospital bill paid for to resolve this matter.

After being involved in an accident where the front of my vehicle collided with the back of a minivan, GEICO sent me to *** for an estimate and repair on my vehicle. The insured person was my daughter, who is the policy holder. I went to this body shop and met with Andrew L, Appraiser for GEICO, who appraised and took my vehicle to get it fixed. After picking it up and returning home, I noticed several issues with the car including 1) the hood doesn't close properly, 2) a piece of the hood latch consistently falls out, 3) front lamp consistently fogs in rain (rain gets in), 4) wheel frame not installed properly, 5) the plastic piece at the bottom of the car that is attached to the bumper is missing, and the list goes on. The repair job was done in the most sloppiest way I have ever experienced in my life. My car was not properly fixed, but masked with a few new pieces, and even with that, the new pieces were not installed properly and securely. I took it to an independent body shop who affirmed my concerns and even phoned *** to share with them the issues noticed. I went back to the shop and spoke to both the adjuster and the body shop, and in response to my complaints, they told me 'I must have gotten into another accident' instead of taking care of the issues. As a 69 year old man, I was very upset at the disrespect and lack of dignified customer service received by the GEICO appraiser and the body shop. I then called GEICO customer service with my concerns and was shooed away in the same manner; they dismissed my concerns and told me that I must be hiding another accident. My car's front is still a mess and they refused to properly repair my car because I'm not insured by them. They need to assign me another appraiser who will look at the vehicle and get it properly fixed. I took many pictures of the repair done and I can provide proof of the issues.RE: Claim # *** On 7/24/17 Geico insured driver backed up into my vehicle causing damage to the front of my vehicle. This claim # includes information about the accident as well as photo evidence of the incident. Geico recommended using their sponsored and warrantied auto shop, *** located at *** Gaithersburg, MD ***. I dropped off my vehicle at this location for inspection and repair. Andrew L with Geico and *** stated they did a full inspection on the front of my vehicle - however, they said all that is needed is to replace the bumper. This was the first issue that was unacceptable. Geico and their sponsored auto shop did not do a full inspection of my vehicle. I brought to their attention that my front headlight was fogging up - something that did not occur before the collision, as well as the fact that my horn was not sounding proper after the collision. My concerns were dismissed. When I picked up my vehicle on 11/1/2017, I noticed in the same day that my car was making sounds while driving. I noticed that there is a gap between the front wheel cover and the bumper. I noticed that the bottom of my bumper was loose. Furthermore, I noticed that the bumper was not properly attached to my vehicle. As a result, while driving later on, the bottom of my bumper flew off while I was driving on the highway. I spoke to Andrew L, Geico inspector on three different occasions after picking up my car on 11/1/17. I informed him of the unsatisfactory service and informed him that I had spoken to ***. I had my vehicle inspected by *** after the *** center's repair and they was surprised as to the extreme low quality of the repairs. He further told me that any issues related to the front of my bumper should be assessed in part of the accident. I returned to Andrew at *** AGAIN, to further show him and his supervisor the items that were not properly repaired in my vehicle. Him and his supervisor told me that "my car was too old to service" and that "I must of gotten into another accident after picking up my car". These statements are completely unacceptable!

Dear ***:

We are writing in response to your letter of January 16, 2018. After carefully reviewing the facts of the aforementioned claim, we are con?dent that GEICO has handled *** claim properly.

*** s vehicle was involved in a front and rear end collision on July 24, 2017 resulting in minor cosmetic damage to the lower portion of the front plastic components of his 2004 ***. *** brought his vehicle in for repair on November 1, 2017. The work was performed by ***, a GEICO Auto Repair Xpress facility, and was completed onNovember 6, 2017. The repairs to his vehicle consisted of the replacement of the front plastic bumper and two plastic fender liners. During the repair the horns and headlights were inspected per *** s request, it was found that the horns and lights had no physical damage and were operating normally. *** s vehicle was reviewed by an onsite GEICO adjuster at the time of completion. The repairs passed GEICO‘s pre-delivery review, and the vehicle wasphotographed during this review. This time stamped photograph is attached, showing the repairs were performed properly and all panels are intact and properly aligned.
On December 21, 2017, approximately six weeks after taking possession of the repaired vehicle, *** returned to *** claiming that the lower shield was still damaged and hanging below the vehicle. He also advised the headlights were showing signs of condensation.
As shown in the attached photo the lower shield was not hanging down after the repairs. Further, there was no damage to the headlamps from the claim that occurred in July. The GEICO adjuster advised *** that the current under shield issue was not related to the July 24, 2017 loss. Additionally the headlight condensation issue is not related to the initial accident or repair. Condensation in headlights is a common issue with this year make and model of vehicle. This information was explained to *** at the time of the second inspection. We also advised *** that he could take his vehicle to a shop of his choice for a second opinion and if any additional information could be provided relating the areas of concern we would review the matter. *** brought the vehicle in to *** in Germantown, Maryland.

*** was unable to relate either of these issues to this claim. AGEICO supervisor has been in contact with the representative at *** who advised when the vehicle is dropped off they will notify GEICO so that a supervisor can inspect the vehicle again per ***’ s request. *** advised they did not ?nd any repair quality issues with paint, ?tment, or workmanship performed by ***. They did determine that the bracket bolt for the grille needs to be tightened and can be completed upon return of the vehicle to *** on January 29, 2018 when he is scheduled to drop off for repairs related to a different claim with another insurance carrier. Please contact Claims Manager Bob T at or ***@geico.com if you have any further questions.

I had a pending claim on an accident and was told by GEICO’s Claims Dept that I would get a phone call from an Adjuster on my options. Instead I got a spam looking email Thursday January 11, from a person with 2 identities on the email as James or Sam P. The email had magic marker lines on it with question marks all over it like some spam ads. It said GEICO’s was offering me $8650 for my *** that has a minimum NADA value of $10,200. And that they totaled my car because the preliminary estimate by *** Collision was $11,441.66.
And Wyoming has a 75% Threshold on repairs and value of car.
I called for hours getting only answering machine. Finally this rude person called saying it was only a fair value car mouthing off to provoke me to react. I had upgraded the car with over $10,000 in upgrades like a new ***’s high performance engine. I sent receipts to that questionable email to this James or Sam P and he dissed them and hours later that night got a Do Not Reply Email with a questionable pdf from this guy saying how they arrived at an $8650 figure on totaling my car.
Then at 7 AM on Friday this James or Sam P called saying I had a rental car to pickup at ***. He then told me my case was being now looked at by other Adjuster people and no response until Monday the 15th. On a national holiday Martin Luther King Day.
I reported this to the local FBI Field Office because it looks fraudulent.
They contacted the Texas Attorney General Consumer Protection Office.
And I showed them all this evidence. They called the Texas and Wyoming Departments of Insurance and they too saw it and sent complaint forms.
There is NO GEICO’s regional offices in Wyoming. So no personal contact.
They said this James or Sam P is in violation of the Texas Insurance Code, Chapter 541, Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act with 2 identities alone.
I did talk to GEICO’s Claims reps Trenton B and Ashleigh K later.
They said a James P is at GEICO’s they called no reply

CLAIM NUMBER: ***
DATE OF LOSS: January 7, 2018 COMPANY: GEICO Indemnity Company

Dear ***:

Our insured, ***, was involved in a single vehicle accident on January 7, 2018. *** subsequently filed a claim through GEICO for the damage to his ***. ***’s vehicle was inspected by a local body shop, ***, on January 9, 2018. *** took photographs of the vehicle and sent them to GEICO along with their estimated cost to repair the vehicle. The estimated repair cost of ***’s vehicle came to $11,441.66; as reviewed by GEICO Auto Damage Adjuster James Samuel P. Note Mr. P goes by his middle name, Samuel, or Sam for short.

On January 10, 2018, Mr. P reviewed the estimate and ran a total loss evaluation to determine the market value of the vehicle. Upon receiving the value, Mr. P confirmed the vehicle was a total loss.

On January 11, 2018, Mr. P sent a request for a salvage value of the vehicle in the event *** wanted to retain the salvage vehicle. Later that day, Mr. P emailed the total loss information, including a copy of the total loss evaluation, showing the vehicle value to be valued at $8,656.60. The email also included an outline of options for if *** if wanted to retain the vehicle or surrender the vehicle for GEICO to take possession of. The email contained color coded “highlights” in the text to correspond the retention process with the retention settlement amount, versus the surrender process with the surrender settlement amount.

On the afternoon of January 11, 2018, *** called in to GEICO to advise that he had done some restorations his vehicle and would not accept GEICO’s offer. He mentioned putting a new engine in the car and that he would be sending in documentation to support the restorations. Mr. P contacted *** and discussed the total loss evaluation with him. *** also advised that he did not have any mode of transportation as a result of the loss.

On January 12, 2018, Mr. P called *** with a rental reservation number to address ***’s not having any transportation. Mr. P also advised *** he would review the receipts sent in for the engine replacement in order to have it factored in to the evaluation of the vehicle. After verifying additional information, Mr. P updated the evaluation to reflect the engine replacement. On January 13, 2018 Mr. P emailed a copy of the updated evaluation to ***.
On January 15, 2018 GEICO Internal Auto Damage Supervisor Bradley G contacted *** to discuss the updated total loss evaluation. *** advised he would accept the settlement and surrender the vehicle to GEICO.
On January 18, 2017 GEICO received completed total loss settlement paperwork back from *** and payment to *** was overnighted accordingly.

Yes Geico Sucks, I cancelled my policy with them and they created a new policy with me without my permission, they said they didnt want me to go without insurance, and because they covered me for that period of time they would have to charge me, this I am pretty sure is illegal, creating a new policy without my approval then charging me for it, why would I want to drop my policy just for them to create another one

Geico is so dishonest I cant believe they havent been shut down. I am dissapointed in myself for not seeing it sooner. I am seeing these other reviews of people being lied to and over charged in some ridiculous scam, and am wondering how many class action lawsuits there have been against them. They have been overcharging me for atleast 5 out of the 17 years I've been with them! They kept upping my premiums even though I have never had an accident, have a perfect driving record, have never made a claim and this is the case for my 36 years of driving! They blamed the increases on Washington state law, and even though I would argue with them they would never give in. Well this time I finally called another insurance company, actually 3 others, and they all said I was lied to. They all quoted me far less than Geico. Geico had sent me a bill on Dec.23rd telling me that my insurance would be cancelled Jan. 3rd. I got the letter Jan. 7th. I was on automatic payment every 6 months and my credit card had changed during those 6 months, so they couldn't withdraw the funds. When I called on the 7th they told me that because my insurance was cancelled and according to Washington state law they would be upping my premiums again because of tin lapse of coverage and raised it another 20%! Well it's a lie. All the other companies said they would never do that unless the lapse were atleast 30 days, and considering the timing of their holiday letter, vacations happen, they would have just re-instated. I switched to Allstate and am paying 30% less. 17 years with a company and they treat you like this. These creeps have been stealing money from me since 2000 and getting away with it.

Unethical/Unfair Billing/Renewal Process
I had almost a non-accident in October. It was literally the SLIGHTEST tap at a stop sign into a car in front of me, BARELY touching the car. The guy in the car said there was no damage and no big deal, but that he wanted my insurance just in case he found anything else after giving his car a wash.
I was trying to be HONEST with Geico and let them know of this EXTREMELY minor incident, just in case this guy called in.
The guy was very nice and even texted me saying that he would not be pursing anything, as there was no damage AT ALL to his car.
Now, in January, I received my new rate which increased $70 per month!!! When I called to ask why, they said it was because the "5 year good driver" discount has been removed due to the accident in October. There was no claim made by the guy, no adjuster went out, no money was given. So, because I called in and was honest, they are penalizing me and in a MAJOR way…
I'm now paying an extra $70/month = $840/annual for the next 5 years (TOTAL COST $4,200), all for NOTHING!!
I think this is absolutely outrageous of Geico, clearly I am a responsible driver (as I have not had any tickets or any other incidents since being with them which has been over 5 years) and don't think such a harsh punishment equates to what happened that day in October. It makes me wonder how much they would have increased the premium if it was a real accident where they had to pay out…just incredible.
I really hope someone sees this and is able to give us some advice. I have contacted Geico and they said even if they guy calls them and tells them it was nothing they still will not remove it and give us our discount back. As I think they should be able to adjust discounts on an account by account basis so that circumstances such as my own aren't severally penalized because the “system automatically generates renewals.”

A recent coverage change to my auto policy resulted in a credit balance in the amount of 447.16. As I explained to a rep by the name of Titus yesterday, the account used to purchase policy and which refunded appears to have been issued to is pending closure by the bank, ***. I also explained that any credits issued to debit card will be returned, thus a check needs to be sent instead. I requested a check instead of refund to original form of payment which might be closed as of today, 1/10. However, it appears my request was ignored as refund shows issued to debit card as of today. Please advise Geico I need a check ASAP if credit is rejected.

Case#: *** Policy#: ***

Dear ***:

This will acknowledge receipt of your request regarding the above named insured’s private passenger automobile policy.

In ***’s correspondence to your organization he expresses concern regarding a refund of unearned premium in the amount of $447.18. He has requested that this refund be issued to him via a check.

GEICO’s records show that *** purchased the above named policy on December 1, 2017 via GEICO.com The policy was purchased and bound with a six month premium of $2,260.60, which he paid for in full using his *** Credit Card.

On January 9, 2018, *** contacted GEICO and requested to increase his collision coverage deductible from a $100 to $5,000 and his comprehensive coverage deductible from a $100 deductible with the glass waiver to a $2,500 deductible without the glass waiver. These changes resulted in a policy credit of $447.18. *** was advised that this credit would be refunded back to him. He requested that this refund be issued via check in lieu of a refund sent to his *** Credit Card. Refunds are automatically refunded in the same method as the last payment was received, thus the refund was issued to the same *** Credit Card that *** used to make his last payment to GEICO.

In his complaint, *** noted that a refund showed issued to his debit card the following day and requested that if credit is rejected that GEICO remits a check ASAP. GEICO’s records show the refund status as dispersed to his financial institution as of January 10, 2018. In the event that GEICO is notified by his financial institution that they have rejected the credit of $447.18, then a refund will be issued to *** via check.

It is GEICO’s position that all proper procedures were followed in the handling of ***’s policy. GEICO maintains that the refund was issued as per our standard company procedure.

If you have any questions, or if GEICO can be of any further service in this matter, please contact Barbara F at .

I would NEVER give them a 10, but rather a 1 like most car insurance companies. I have been with them for 1 year and they have just tried to raise our premium over $300 more for a 6 month period even though we have had no car accidents or tickets (there are 5 in our family that drive, 5 vehicles), I also have a friend that lives right down the street from me, in almost the same situation as our family, 5 drivers, 5 vehicles that are almost same years and there cost is $1300 for 6 months (I have been paying almost $1600 and they want to raise it to almost $1900 for 6 months)...Geico's response back to me "GEICO'S response back - Insurance companies base their rates on statistics. When claims costs/frequency increases in a state, an insurance company must take a statewide increase to compensate for these additional claim costs. The same is true for the opposite as well. If claims costs go down, insurance companies can take rate decreases", you shouldn't be able to base any person's car insurance off of where you live, your credit report, how many car accidents in your area...they are doing this now for your car insurance and it is unfair, dishonest in my opinion and there should be laws against car insurances companies basing premiums off of this policy and practice!!!! I say to everyone go search every where and don't trust Geico, they are in it for only the money, they are a business, simple and plain!!!!

Geico Foremost Insurance ..home policy
My home was broken into while vacant for repairs since I just had the tenant removed. Several days after the removal someone broke in and destroyed the house. I filed a police report I called to file a claim and now it is a book of papers. Then they declined because they called my old tenant and he said he destroyed my home but how an=m I suppose to know that . Now the insurance said sue him for the money don't come to us. WOW

I have been with GEICO for eleven years and have dealt with the slow increases each year. Six months ago I lowered my coverage to save money and when I renewed my new policy I found that it had increased over thirty dollars per month for less coverage. Every quote I have received from other companies offer more coverage for less money. If GEICO had given me a halfway decent explanation for the increase, I wouldn’t be shopping around. All they would say was they looked at statistics for my area and there was nothing I could about this ridiculous increase. They basically blew off a customer of eleven years. They used to be really good, too. Not so much anymore. I’ll be going with someone else.

Beware if a person insured with Geico hits your vehicle, takes off then claims that they did not hit you. This happened to me and I was sitting in my vehicle at the time and saw the truck that hit me, even chased it and got the license. I was hit hard enough that my truck actually rocked back and forth, still with all of the evidence I presented to Geico, they won't pay for the damage to my truck. When I was given the final decision by the Geico Rep and I told her that I wanted to speak to someone above her that could review her decision, I was told that she was it! I said so you don't have a boss, oh she had a boss alright, but according to her, no one was going to change her decision. Obviously by the number of negative reviews, I'm not the only one unhappy with Geico. I'm guessing that they pay a heck of a lot of money to a marketing firm to convince the public that they are a great company to do business with.

Terrible. Been with them over a year and I've never gotten my renewal 30 days prior like the law mandates. Also sent me a letter of non renewal because my husband that doesn't drive needed to be excluded from the policy. I asked them to let me excluded him because he doesn't drive and he's terminal. I shouldn't have been the one to tell them that

For more than one year, I have received mailing and advertising from GEICO trying to see car insurance. Each time I receive a letter, I return the letter back to Geico requesting my name and address by received from its' mailing list. However, GEICO, continues to mail me ignoring letters with my name plastered over the envelope. I do not understand why my many requests for these ignoring and harassing mailing finally STOP.

I have received your order to stop solicitation mailings to your address. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused.

***’s name/address is now on our Do Not Mail opt-out file, and as per our standard practices we will suppress this information from mail marketing campaigns. No additional solicitation mail will be received after January 2018. We continuously monitor the integrity of our mail opt outs and their application to mail marketing campaigns, including USPS’s National Change of Address data for up-to-date addresses, to ensure opt outs are not mailed for marketing purposes in the future. The DMA Do Not Mail List is also one of the tools used to determine mail opt outs.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience, and if you have further issues with receipt of GEICO marketing mail I would be glad to assist you directly in correcting the issue.

Sincerely,

Anthony E

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I have had Geico for less than one year. Unfortunately during this time I also had my first and only car accident.
When you get a quote online and sign up for insurance, what they fail to disclaim is that $15/day does not cover ANY rentals. Upon calling, their agents are trained to give this disclaimer evidently but not online. On top this, I’m also being penalized for getting into an accident during the holidays. My accident was on 12/23 and I have had one call right after the accident, in which unrealistic expectations were set. Geico is the WORST!!!! I will shout this from the roof tops! Terrible communication and they don’t stand by their mistakes!!!

I was in a accident a week before I had to get a tow truck for a flat tire. I reported that my car was driving funny after the wreck. No one ever called us back about the adjuster coming to check the vehicle from the first accident. After the tow truck picked our car up and was dropping it off the bed was not all the way on the ground plus the chains was still hooked on the front of the car and on the tires on the passenger side, while the driver was backing it off the truck. The car jerked and turned sideways and the driver jumped out and got off his phone. After we got ready to leave the tire shop we could barely push on the gas and the car was only going 20-25 miles per hour. We immediately called in to let the insurance company know. Our car has been in the shop since November and we had to struggle to get a rental when we pay that every month on the policy. They are a rip off. We finally was able to get a call back since November. The adjuster said o I forgot to call you. We asked her what was going on she said we don’t know where the damage came from. Ok so what do we do about our car in the shop and the rental we are in *** is calling about!! Everytime we call no one can help us. Then they want you to go through the chain of command and it never happen. We pay almost 400$ a month auto draft and these people are no help. The adjuster act as if she don’t care bc it’s not her issue or money. Even told us she gone still get paid if we leave the company!! I work to hard for my money for it to just be taken and they don’t back what I pay for. The claims lady also said it’s a dent on the front of the car. I told her it was from the accident that we had a week before and they never took care of that issue. *** is threatening to call the car in stolen. Which is stressing. The body shop stating they are getting ready to stop Geico Macon claims from comin through because they have been having a lot of issues. So that says a lot and this is a top of the line body shop.

RE: ID Number: ***
Claim Number: ***

Dear ***:

We received your correspondence dated December 28, 2017. We have not included any personal identifying information on our response, as you requested.
On October 27, 2017, the complainant was involved in an automobile accident in which she rear-ended another vehicle. She chose not to have her vehicle repaired. GEICO paid the claimant for the repairs to his vehicle.
On November 14, 2017, the complainant had a flat tire and requested a tow to a tire shop. We dispatched ***. to transport the vehicle. On November 20, 2017, the complainant called to report additional damage which she believed was the result of an improper tow. On November 30, 2017, we sent an auto damage adjuster to inspect the vehicle. The adjuster determined the damage could not be related to an improper tow. He advised this damage had likely happened when she rear-ended the vehicle in October.
On January 4, 2018, Hope S, Manager in our Emergency Road Service Department, called the complainant and advised her of the inspection results. She advised that if she wanted to have her vehicle repaired, our automobile adjuster would be able to reopen the October claim with the understanding that repairs would be subject to her $500.00 deductible. The complainant already had the adjuster’s phone number and stated she would follow up with him. As a courtesy, due to the length of the investigation, we paid for 36 days of rental at a cost of $1,494.00.
We trust this information is sufficient to allow you to close out the complaint. If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this issue, please feel free to call my associate, Barbara C, at , extension ***.
Sincerely,
Frank P,
Assistant Vice President

Geico really takes there time with handling claims. You may save money with Geico but you waste ALOT of time. I responded to a ridiculous total loss amount for my car ( barely half of what I paid for vehicle and not even half of what they are valued at) at 11 am and was told that he would review everything On Tuesday. TODAY IS FRIDAY
