The worst company ever
It is NYE they have not picked up my garbage in over 2 weeks. I called multiple times and the promised extra pick up twice which NEVER happened and the scheduled day the garbage never came! I have HOA and we are lugging the garbage around the house so it doesnt show from the street! Over 10 bags! I called multiple times and they lie to me to get me off the phone! I canceled subscription and have signed up with their competion! They did not refund Jan. Services and in the meantime I have no service! Do not go with this company you will regret it! They lie and they cannot find anyone to work! The worst company by far!

VERY DISSATSIFIED
I have a large daycare center trash is supposed to be picked up twice a week. They have not picked up trash for 2 weeks now. When you do get a person by chance, they transfer to someone's voice mail to get rid of you, leave a message and no call backs. Have been emailing for a week now back and forth with Kimberly and all I get is we notified the driver, cross your fingers and still trash all over. The only thing that you are able to do is pay your bill wants the money but no service. Canceled my service and need them to pick up all this trash, get their dumpster and all I get is I know! Really didn't have a choice when they took over my trash company before that was WONDERFUL!
SO DISAPOINTED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE and TRASH PICK UP don't think they even care. Closed today cause of weather we live in colorado business still open and proved services.

Terrible!
Over priced, terrible customer service, long wait times on the phone to speak with a customer representative. I have had missed pick up days where I have had to call and find out why my trash wasn't picked up (wasn't a holiday). A surprising $50.00 cancellation fee popped up that has never been disclosed before and there is no mention of a cancellation fee on their website or on the back of the invoice! I did not have a contract with them and should not be charged a fee that I was NOT aware of!

OMG I am not allow
Customer service is nonexistent. Ability to process payment accurately NOPE! God forbid that you have mutiple commercial accounts. Worst company to deal with ever in my life.

Same Problem with Corporate Accounts, we have 3 of them and the customers service is nonexistent. When you do get someone, they are rude or act like it is a problem for them to get info to you. Pretty sad when you have set up all the accounts and they do not have your name or number for contact purposes. Still can't get any of the bills on time, called to have them emailed but for some reason they are undeliverable...WORST COMPANY EVER.

Do not use this company!
Since GFL has taken over they have screwed up my bill so badly it took 6 mts to correct! You can’t talk to anyone other than a call center which does no good. They have missed picking up my garbage cans no less than 3 times and will not come back to get it. I have been with this company for years but since GFL took over it’s awful.

I totally get that; I have had the same problem and we have several accounts.

Paying for nothing
The have missed my trash pick up 8 weeks out of the last few months, and instead increased my bill by 33%. I call and never get a credit for the missed pickup dates.

Paying for nothing
I pay for weekly trash and recycle pick up. This company has not done both on the scheduled day now for WEEKS. They average 50% on my trash and pick it up every other week at best, and I miss at least one pick up a month on recycle. They say they will credit the next month's bill but to date that has not happened. You can call and complain, but there is no improvement in their service. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Sloppy Service
For the life of me, I cannot figure out why GFL picks up my garbage cans in the designated area & then drops them ~ 20 ft away in front of the mailbox.
This upsets the mail carrier who in turn leaves notes for me to leave the area clear.
They also, more often than not, leave the lids open so the cans collect water when it rains.
I travel a week out of the month for cancer treatment out of state. It may sound petty but it’s very frustrating when I return & the first thing I have to do is dump water from the cans, replace them to their pick up spot & then have messages from the mail carrier regarding my blocked mail box.
Please GFL, do better.

took trash cans that were not theirs
After going to another service, due to their total lack of professionalism , ie no pick up to wrong days pick up. They came and took cans I own , after wasting a lot of time on the phone ill check with local government to see if they have a remedy for me. I have videos of the two cans being taken several months apart. They said their our cans but have no receipts or rental charges on any of my bills.The worst kind of business AVOID.

GFL provides a tote with their service. They do not charge you rent. Unless you actually purchased the trash totes from a store, they are not yours.

uncorrected billing error
I paid my quarterly bill then received a $60 one month later for a fourth month. GFL acknowledges it made an error but is requiring that the bill be paid in 30 days or I will be charged interest. Customer service says there is nothing they can do. Do not use this company. This is not the first problem I have had with them.

Billed but no service since May 2022
For the past 3 months I have reported to GFL thru the online ticketing system the fact that GFL has not picked up my trash since May 2022. I have also requested that the service be canceled yet month after month GFL keeps insisting that they are picking up my trash and keep invoicing me.
Please review your ticketing system for the following tickets that I have submitted for this issue.
775561, 743266, 741352, 730757, 665503, 655813, 634479, 592786 and now this ticket which I created on September 20, 2022

GFL is no better than the trash they pick up!
I wish I had known in March what I know now. I started service in March of 2022. Numerous missed pickups for my recycle bin and once for trash; many late pickups for trash. You call customer service and wait on hold for up to an hour. They apologize, tell you it will be picked up next time and said they would give me a credit on my account. I said I just want my stuff picked up. We fill up our recycling bin very quickly. I asked to speak with a manager and she said she would ask one to give me a call. NEVER HAPPENED.

After the going through this so many times, I finally told them I was going to cancel my service and that I didn't want any credit. I removed my autopay information so the next bill would not be paid. Cancelled my service by putting in a ticket (I mean who has time to keep calling them). Seven days later I received a notification that my bill had been paid through the bank account for which I removed the information.

Tried to call them again today 770-577-3545. Will not go through at all. Call drops off immediately. Please think twice before signing up with them.

WORST SERVICE POSSIBLE
I call to cancel service after having had our company bought out by them two months back. This is after multiple weeks of trash piling up and/or them skipping weeks altogether. I ask to cancel, am told I'll get confirmation within 24 hours via email. Doesn't happen. So, I wait.
I call again a second time two weeks later. This lady says I will get confirmation. I say I'm not getting off the phone until I do. They say they can't send while on phone, it's a process where the phone call has to end for the info to move forward and pass onto the people that do this process. I say I want to be sure that I will not be charged because I have had no less than 5 people in my neighborhood that have been charged, "after cancelling" since my last call. She assures me (second person to do so), that I won't. You know where this is going .
Two weeks later, invoice period up. DING. Email saying payment has processed. Bank account confirms. So I call back, ask to talk to a manager. Denied. Not how their system works. Am adamant about it given the charge. Doesn't matter. The process is that I will file the complain and someone will call you within 24 - 48 hours to resolve your issue. In the meantime, please ensure you take auto-pay off of your account. Wait a minute... What?... Didn't I ASK FOR IT TO BE CANCELLED?!?!?
Go into my account, still attached. No note of account being cancelled. No progress on my refund she says she saw in the PC, which takes 7 - 8 weeks and comes via a mailed check...
This. Is. GFL.

Removal of Trash Can/ Terrible Service
My trash can had been removed 2 weeks ago as well as some of my neighbors by GFL, my neighbors have all received new trash cans except for 2 of us on the block, I have phone GFL twice about this situation and I’m being told again I’ll have to wait possibly 30 days. Which means I’ll have to store trash bags in my garage and possibly attract rodents,This is ridiculous!

New service
Wow what a great first impression. Just started my service lastweek in Covington. Monday would have been my first day of trash pick up. It is now Wednesday afternoon and the whole neighborhood still hasn’t had their trash picked up. They seem like a hot mess and I’ll be switching services ASAP.

Potential new customer
I called to start new service. The customer service lady was rude and acted like she didn’t want to be bothered as I appeared to be getting on her nerves by calling. She told me that I would have to paid 5 months in advance a total of 160.00( I’m sure what company does that) I can under three months, but not 5 months. Also requested proof of residence, suggested I provide a deed or lease agreement. I have never heard of such. Needless to say based on the reviews and my first experience with this company I Will NOT be getting service with this company…….

The Good (County Waste), the Bad & the Ugly (GFL)
County Waste did not inform their customers that GFL was "taking over." County Waste would send billing emails so you wouldn't "fall behind." GFL does not.

Can't say GFL does a lousy job of picking up our trash so far.

Unable to contact GFL by phone, email, etc. GFL sends no billing emails, you are on your own!

Pay ours with a single credit card. Since reading all the reviews would not trust GFL having my banking info!

Latest is a price increase of $5 per mo. Price "jumped" from $42 per mo to $47 & we were not informed of this increase. Nice!

Can see why former County Waste Customers who were transferred to GFL are looking for another "better" waste mgmt co.

trash pickup
Gfl wants your bill paid on time or else but when it come to them picking your trash up they are on their time.. The road that I live on was all gfl until this year. I hyavn't changed yet but there are only 3 left . Everyone else has bright blue cans and say that they have not had any misses yet.Maybe it is time to change. You would think that a company would take more pride in their work. @What can you do

Same here! I cancelled today! 3 weeks of missed pick up. this trash company is truly TRASH!

Still waiting for a refund

I used to have County Waste. GFL took them over and in a very shady move switched us without any written (printed) notifications. I would pay my bills quarterly even though they are not billed that way through CW. I would get a bill, see it getting low and send in $100 to carry me over to the next quarter. When I finally got my account set up, I paid in advance like I did with CW as the GFL rep said everything would be the same. Well after I paid, I got two notices with two separate account numbers saying my day would be changing. I called up and they said it was just one address and to not worry since the bill would be going up XYZ amount by July. I refused to pay double what I was paying with another company, so I canceled service. I should have received a credit back to my credit card of $92.89 since I didn't use any of the amount I paid ahead and had to pay like $7 and change on the last amount.

It is two months later, and I still have not received my refund. I can't find a number to reach a person in billing since the person who answers the phone is the same no matter what phone number you call. They claim to not have a corporate number or a number of anyone above them. Called the Clerk of Courts at the state level to find out who is the Authorized Agent for the state of Virginia and they gave me the following:

EXTREMELY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER
I had to give a star but if it were an option I would give 0... I started working with GFL many years ago while they were still County Waste the merge to GFL has been a nightmare! My checks are cashed but not applied to the appropriate accounts. Lack of service and over flowing dumpsters for weeks at a time to be told by the rep that they are down 17 drivers. I dont receive invoices anymore and when I ask for them its a process to get a copy because you have to wait on the phone for 2 hours to speak to a person. I am currently pending my contract expiration dates and I will be changing companies. Sad part is County Waste was my prefered Vendor and I used to recommend them to owners and tenant all the time. This will no longer be the case as the service is not the same as it used to be... This is not a way to treat a loyal customer.
