It
is regrettable that this consumer has more faith in the Internet than the
Revdex.com. It would be great if the thousands
of satisfied customers post to websites instead of just the unsatisfied This consumer might look up any company from
*** to *** even *** he will only find dissatisfied complaints true or
notGlobal Exchange Vacation Club “GEVC” is not a scam and as of today there
are over 100,weeks in luxurious 1, and bedroom resort accomidations on

We apologize for the frustration
of this MemberIt is obvious that months after he attended the presentation
and purchased he does not remember exactly what was represented to himThe
member has forgotten that we record the document signing process and that
everything he alleges is not trueHe states the sales presentation is
misleadingGlobal Exchange Vacation Club “GEVC” has over 12,owners who
disagree with that statementMr*** states reservations are too far out
and inventory is limitedReservations can be made one (1) day to months in
advance; in addition there are more than 150,weeks available at as many as
4,resorts in over countries every day
We do not show that this member
ever attended an owner’s orientation where we show new owners exactly how to navigate
the system and best use the membershipThe member alleges that the GEVC
Maintenance fee and RCI dues were never disclosedThis is absolutely not true
The fees are disclosed in the power point presentation that is part of every
tourIn addition, it is thoroughly gone over in contracts and we have the
member’s initials and signature acknowledging the disclosure of these fees to
himThe member states that we are untrustworthy and incompetentWe strongly disagree;
this member has only contacted us once on Wednesday, February 25th,
to ask why he is suppose to pay RCI
The representation of our product
to this member is the same as the other 12,membersThere was no
misrepresentation and all of his accusations are falseThe Developer will not
allow the member to cancel his contractMember Services is available at any
time to do a one-on-one tutorial for this member to guide them through how to
best utilize the membership they own in perpetuity

This Revdex.com complaint from this
consumer for not paying their debt (?) is directed at the wrong companyGEVC
forfeited their membership in July of GEVC does not report to credit
bureaus, this consumer is not a member of GEVC and all previous
dues/maintenance fees owed to GEVC were dissolved with the forfeitureThe
consumer needs to direct settlement offers to *** *** who was hired
by the lender, not GEVC

Mr*** and MsMa,
It is unfortunate that you felt the need to file a Revdex.com complaint but it is, of course, your right to do soAs you are aware from our previous communication you failed to cancel within the statutory rescission period and we stand behind the representation of this product
You have gone to great lengths to get out of your GEVC membership and frankly we agree that we should not do business togetherFor this reason I have enclosed a "Surrender of Membership" and a "Points Transfer Document." Please execute these documents and send them back in the self addressed envelopeThis will put your points back into the Club and relieve you from any future obligation to the ClubOnce received I will order your collateral back from the Lender, and mark your original note "Obligation Fulfilled" and send it back to youWe will remove your name from the Rolls of Membership and you will have no further obligation of any kind to the ClubWe will not refund any funds spent on this purchaseThese monies will be used to offset our costs incurred on your behalf
If you do agree with this solution we will withdraw the offer and pursue the purchase contract and note to the fullest extent allowed by law

Please close my complaint. I will deal with the San Dimas location directly. I'm going to pay them a visit on 06/13/15 to discuss my policy

We
are extremely regretful that our member does not have any recollection of the
annual dues to RCIHowever, this detail does not change the factWith
thousands of members and counting, the disclosure of the RCI dues is everywhere;
the “Club” is powered by RCI Points. I
have enclosed under separate correspondence directly to our member, copies of
the documents she signed where the RCI annual dues is disclosed, Members
Acknowledgment, Purchase Agreement, Members Handbook and in the Governing
DocumentsThe RCI annual dues is explained in the Power Point presentation and
reiterated during document signing by the Verification OfficerWe regret that
our member felt she needed to file a Revdex.com complaint but she has signed multiple
documents disclosing this feeI have also enclosed a bonus week for her to use
and enjoy as a gift for her unfortunate experience

Ms*** purchased a 10,000-point “Extra”
Vacation Membership in GEVC, this is not a Hotel membership it is a Timeshare
MembershipShe signed and acknowledged multiple documents explaining the use
based on space availability with unlimited timeshare rental weeks available at
an average priceThe Developer goes to great lengths to disclose and document
the benefits and expectations of the club
I have sent a copy of the Buyers Acknowledgment to
the member directly; she initialed each section individually defining the above
in the following sections
Paragraph (1) Points may be redeemed at any
time during the year, subject to availability
Paragraph (3) 10,points delivers enough
points for an instant exchange (days or less)
Paragraph (4) There are no guarantees
regarding availability of locations, periods or unitsParagraph (5) There are no guarantees
regarding availability of locations, periods or unitsParagraph (8) Access to over 4,resorts
all reservations are subject to availability and no specific resort, resort
area or time of year was promised as part of this transaction
There are many benefits to the membership, every day
there are over 150,rental weeks available which is the primary benefit of
this membershipThe clients sat through a 45-minute power point presentation
that explains the average cost for rentals over timesIn addition; we
record the contract / verification process where they were clearly explained that
the unlimited rental weeks were an average priceThe consumer has buyer’s remorse
and is misrepresenting our presentation
Mr*** signed a legal binding contract she
had days to read, review, make calls, and inquire with RCI, Revdex.com or any other
agencyShe does not have the right to cancel months after purchasingGEVC
is committed to assisting this member with reservations; the reservation
process and has offered a one-on-one tutorial on how to navigate the RCI web
site to best utilize the membershipWe will have our member services supervisors
reach out to her for assistance

is obvious that Ms*** won’t be satisfied unless allowed to cancelShe
refuses to learn how to use the systemShe states she is not interested in any

quote “Romantic Escapades in Exotic Locations.” I have sent under separate
cover the Members Acknowledgment signed and initialed by her confirming the
basic terms and conditions of the purchaseGlobal stands behind its product

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[Ok so let's put this into perspective because everyone seems to be making assumptions and there has yet to be a true resolution to the main issue at handOn 8/we were coerced on purchasing this now headache by the company stating its cheaper than other travel sites and that you don't have to worry about availabilityOk fine we figured we are newly engaged let us go with thatPatiently waiting we never recieved our trip for joining the 2hrsfine whatever we heard that was a pain anywayFinallly on 8/we recieved information to login to the site excited we went in and were so dissappointed because the Price for a vaction was way more on top of paying for the timeshareBig reality check that we were coerced into buying this thingThen we tried to find workarounds we called there travel for mini vacations which is what we were looking for and we got roundrobined and then told that there is no availability and need to plan better and that we cannot expect there to be availabiltyWell ha! that is why we bought the thingThen on 8/we determined that the pricing does not add up because we can't even utilize what we were sold in the way were sold it inwe contacted GEVC explained the scenario and it was an automatic noIf you want us to pay closing and RCI FEES then let us know, but for us the timeshare is not a feasible solution or make any senseEverytime we call and try to do something we get the go around or no reponse at all or no availbiliy and then we still have to go to expedia etc to get what we needHow does that make sense? I shouldnt have to go to other locations to get a decent vacation and hence the timeshare is too much for us and we are traptAlso there has to be a way to negotiate something because at some point people get rid of their real estate they dont keep it foreverYes, you are rude because everytime we call we get the go around and instead of finding a solution or resolution it is a back and forthAnd obviosuly you are not understanding the fact that we paid a down payment, which by the way we are not even asking for in returnAll we are saying is your timeshare costs us too much because we were coerced and cant even use your productWe have go to the website RCI Travel and still my best deal is Pricline and availlibity is always spot onSo my request is I can pay closing but have no desire to keep paying for something that we have no use for and I still have to round robin to other sitesYes your company has coecered us to buy something based on availibiliy and pricing and it has been nothing but a lie, which has led us to believe that we are stuck paying for something we can us and is too exppensiveYou are right it puts us in a position because I am having to pay for a timeshare that is NEVER available when we need or want to use itAbove all we still have to pay for other vacatioins on the site that are never availbale when we need itSo maybe there was a misunderstanding on both parties, but as I said we were told that That Points are KING, We dont have to worry about Availablity and that it would be cheaper that other travel sitesThis is why we thought it would be a unique oportunity, but really is throwing money down the drain because we still have to find workarounds to get where we are goingAlso that day we explained to the sales people that we wanted to use it for visiting family on the central coast, and again availibity is never there or too expensivewe would have never known till we got access to the site and NOW we are stuck!! how does that make sense, you buy a product that is not available and cant see the ROI a month later???? There is definitely no ROI for me and my fiance and like I said want a way out of throwing money down the drain to something we cant useWe also called RCI on travel and they told us to use points for weekendsWhy would I do that? Again Waste of money and BurdenI think you need to rethink who you sell to and how you do businessIf we had been told it would be based on availablily we would have never bought the timeshare and again wouldnt have known time 20days later? This makes absolutely no senseAlso in the time being there has been no resolutioin you have put my equiant account on hold and I can't pay so now I am not sure what you want or what you would like me to do? As I told customer service it is what it is, but I cant see wasting my money for something that has not ROICaculated this vacation cost will be around 23k for no availabiltyIt is sad that you have to coerce people to purchase items and I guarantee that half your customers feel stuck and are forced to make useI refuse to change my lifestyle to accomodate for this useless productNO answer or back and forth is not a solutionA solution is where both parties are happyAS it stands your product is useless to me and a waste of my money because I have to conform to your availabilty and needs. So yes this is a financail burden because I am paying for something that I cant useSo excuse me for being irritated because you are round robining and are stealing money from someone that has no use from someone that has no use from your product. Again I have no good experience and no usefulness why should I be forced to keep payingOn the flip side I dont mind paying a penalty to lose my ties with this company as long before I should have seen the poor better business reviews and poor yelp review, but you get caught in the hype and want to know how it really worksI should have known that it was to good to be trueSo I lost 3hrs of my life, A trip we never recieved for showing up and some money, but I refuse to give up all my money and through it down the drain for a company that is not accomodating or trying to come up with a solution. That in itself shows me that all you care about is money and not trying to satisfy your customersSo no I will not accept your response until you come up with a resolution and at this point I am so sick of that back and for I want to cut ties. Even still you should not put my account on hold without telling me until there is a resolution that is acceptable for both partiesAgain explanation of what you expect me to do if I cannot even pay my account until we can part ways! COME UP WITH A SOLUTION AND STOP SAYING I AM IN THE WRONG BECAUSE IN THE END I AM THE CUSTOMER AND HAVE HAD A HEADACHE WITH THIS SINCE MY FIRST ENCOUNTERI hope I have been clear and we can move forward to find a solution. ]

Dear Ms***:
I am very sorry to hear of your recent financial situationThese are very trying times in a less than
desirable economyYour letter and Revdex.com complaint was forwarded to me regarding your request to cancel days after your purchase
I regret to inform you that per our internal policy it is not possible to cancel any purchase after the rescission periodThis is considered a real estate transaction, after the rescission period the developer is obligated to pay commissions to the marketing company and the licensed real estate agents in addition to paying your closing and escrow fees as well as your enrollment fee and first year's dues to RCIIf we allow any consumer to cancel after the seven (7) days we open ourselves to litigation from others we did notHow do we defend the position? It is the policy of the developer to hold to the letter of the law
Regarding your Revdex.com complaint, I have enclosed a copy of the email chain of your requests to cancel with Member ServicesI find that they were not rude but kind, courteous and had true compassion for your situationJust because you did not like the answers to your requests, does not make us (rude beyond belief)If you are referring something other than this email chain please inform meGEVC is committed to customer service and rude conduct with any member or consumer is not tolerated.
GEVC is a terrific timeshare club with over11,members I know you will enjoy the benefits of years to come

We
strongly stand by our
decision with this consumer; Purchased August 23,
and we received the cancelation notice on September 16, 2015. Not only is the consumer past the seven (7) days
rescission period, but also after the Close of EscrowThe consumer simply
backdated the rescission letter; the consumer also attempted to cancel the down
payment with the credit card agency and was deniedThe Developer paid much more
than the consumer’s down payment on closing costs, escrow fees, and RCI
membership feesThis does not include the commissions paid to the real estate
agents at the Close of EscrowUnder no circumstance will any funds be refunded
to this consumer

This member was recently sent to collections for
non-payment. We have reviewed the file
and discovered that a letter was sent in December of 2014; that was never
responded to prompting the complaint to the Revdex.com. We sincerely apologize to this member and
although we firmly dispute all of the allegations, we will honor the request
and will be contacting the member to arrange cancelation of this membership

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

It is not true that I have only called once to book. I have called about Solvang, but also Big Bear, and Disney resorts. I unfortunately did not write down all the dates and times I've called and/or gone online to try to book.

From the beginning I've had problems dealing with this company. As stated before. I was told I would have a grace period to check out the website after signing up. But I never received my membership info during that grace period. In fact, I had to call several times, and was given several different phone numbers to call before I was given correct login information. Again, I didn't write down the date, but it was more than a month after signing up.

Since then, I have tried to book numerous times on-line, and haven't been able to find any availability. I'm not interested in wasting any more time on a company I truly believe is a scam, by coming to an orientation on how to use the website. Knowing how to use the website isn't the problem. I've always tried the website first, then called to try to book, and I'm told there is no availability. I'm told to book a year in advance for places like Big Bear, which I specifically asked about in the original meeting. I don't care about thousands of places around the world that are available. I said at the original meeting that I would be using it for last minute trips nearby in California, with our three young kids. I named Big Bear, Solvang, Santa Barbara, San Diego, etc. I was told there are lots of availability and lots of locations with 2 plus bedrooms in California that we could go to with short notice. I have found that not to be true. In a year, I have not been able to use this service even once. My family has gone to all those locations on vacation many times since them. So we are paying for this service and paying to go on vacation in the same locations we were promised.

As I previously stated, Ive read many Revdex.com complaints, Yelp reviews, and various online blogs. Everyone seemed to feel the same way as I do. This is a scam, and the business practices are very misleading. I've never had such a bad experience with a business, and have never made any kind of complaint. I would like a refund of my money, and I'd like to never do business with them again. Everytime I deal with representatives of this company my frustration grows.

I'm no longer willing to feel taken advantage of by Global Exchange. I am willing to keep complaining thru as many channels as necessary. I hope at least the complaints I post on various sites, will be seen by other people, and they won't be duped by this company.

[redacted]No letter was attached. Please forward to [redacted]As an attorney I understand the concept of a contract and as you are well aware contracts are generally drafted in favor of the company who creates the document.  Despite having signed the agreement/contract I will again assert that what was sold to me orally (I'm sure you know all your attendees rely on the presentations made in regard to the product when attended a sales pitch) is patently false.  A customer pays a price to obtain something of value.  I assert that not only have you given me nothing of value for my money I have actually lost money as I have paid to have access to products that are available for WAY less than what I paid.  The prices given on the "extra vacations" are equivalent to what is found on [redacted] so please explain to me exactly WHAT it is you are selling that is of any value.I again assert that I was led to believe that what was sold is not in fact what was provided, despite the fine print of the contract.  I can understand if you choose to have such little respect for your guests that you cannot refund even the somewhat nominal (respective to other purchases) amount of $1200.00, but be assured that I will ensure that the public is made aware of the practices of your company.  One last time, I am requesting that you refund me the purchase price and/or at least a reasonable sum given the fact that I have not used the product.

This is not a resolution or solution. As I have told them before and tried to contact several times with no response. Their prices don't add up. My fiancé and I are getting married and thought this would be a great way to vacation and be more affordable but their prices, availability don't add up. We can't be spontaneous because it's always based on availability. The 10,000 points get you the typical hotel room and a more pricey cost and unless you are really flexible where you want to go then it's useless. Their rci travel site is the same as Priceline if not worse and we paid for a timeshare. Either way it is not cost effective and does not work as promised. Way overly priced. I will never ever recommend them. Read review they are bad. They may work for some people, but do research Priceline is better and at a cheap cost. I can be spontaneous and have a cheaper payment flight car and top hotel. This is a complete scam and misrepresentation. Of course you don't find out how useless it is until you gain access to the site after the fact. They trap innocent people and scam them out of the money. Never do the 90minute presentation, you will never get your gift anyway. Not worth the headache of something so useless especially for spontaneous people. Don't believe one word and regret the day I met this company.
