Response:

We stand behind our representation of the
product.  We have signed contracts and
disclosures reputing everything being claimed by this consumer including a
recording of them being told about availability and the cost of rentals being
an average price.  We have reached out to
this consumer to assist them in using their membership.  We will not cancel this membership.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I understand that we signed the contract, but what the reps told us and represented us are not the same as the contract we signed.  The reps said no worry about the points, anywhere in the world is $499/week and we can use 4 times per year and $209/week is once a year.  I specifically asked about Aulani in Hawaii and he said yes it's $499/week.   He pulled out the book and showed it to us that anywhere in that book is $499/week.   I want your respond on these issues that it is OK for them to lie to us, not the contract!!!   We were the last people to leave the building and it was very late like 10pm-11pm-ish, we were so exhausted and we didn't have time to read all thru your contract.   Especially we have 1 monty old baby waiting at home, we just want to go home already!   This is fraud to the consumers and if we cannot clear it here in Revdex.com.  We will take this matter to the small claim court.  Also your policy says you can get refund within 7 days or whatever it is, but I didn't have the chance to be able to log in to find out all these info.  After couple months when your "so-called" escrow close and mailed the letter to me with the ID to log in.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Everything is blamed on the omission of an alleged third party marketing company . This marketing company does not exist. GEVC are a bunch of liars. They did not provide me the details they allege because they fraudulently and in bad faith had a bond fide intention to lure me in, hand over personal data, sit through their presentation under a flagrantly dishonest inducement. Not because of an illusory marketing unit.  It is unlawful conduct, and they cannot continue to blame this on a third party fictitious marketing company. The personnel who contacted me in the first place i.e. [redacted] and Lisa who PROMiSED me the unencumbered vacation are from the global exchange vacation club. When I called back this is what their voicemail says.Their response is a lie, they are a bunch of liars and in consideration for my 2 hrs of time and exchange of personal information I maintain my position to the fullest extent at law I will pursue and am owed a trip to Hawaii where the only constraint is that I take it within 12 months of my eligibility.

We sincerely apologize for the
frustration our costumer experienced. We want everyone who attends a
presentation to use the gifts provided. We are unable to provide a voucher or
certificate that Mrs. [redacted] is requesting, as they do not exist. We arranged
through the travel provider to allow the customer to travel on the weekend. We
are reaching out to the consumer requesting dates for her travel and will make
the arrangements as soon as possible.

Response:
We
sincerely apologize for the situation our consumer is experiencing.  The consumer is a co-borrower and both parties
are responsible for the loan and both parties are able to use the membership
benefits. We are not privy to the financial structure between the two owners.
The Borrowers applied for a [redacted] at the point of sale the complain tent
knew she did not get approved and I assume she had to make some type of
financial arrangement with the co-borrower. They signed and acknowledged
verbally and in writing that the payments were affordable and would not create
a financial burden. I do not want to put financial arrangements out to a public
forum but the payment quoted for the amount charged on the credit card is
standard as 5% of the outstanding balance. I encourage our member to make a
reservation with our Member Service department at [redacted].  Unfortunately with her first request she was
unhappy that our lowest available price matched a web site offer. The member
cannot compare Resort studios, one bedroom and two bedroom accommodations to
hotel rooms.

It is the policy of the Developer that everyone invited to the presentation be sent map and directions prior to their appointment.  In addition to the map and directions all consumers receive the Details of Participation of the tour and the polices and procedures of the premium being offered. I apologize to this consumer if the policy was not adhered to. I will have the marketing company reach out by phone to this consumer and if these policies were not followed they will in-sure that the mid-week departure required be lifted as requested.

The company has responded as they indicated. I was told I would receive a letter of Surrender in order to rewind the sale and get me out of my contract. I was told they are not refunding me the total amount. I would have to pay for any fees that they incurred during this transaction. I have signed the papers and mailed them back in and waiting for my refund to process.Thank you,[redacted]

I am sorry you take offense to the truth. What was represented to me was absolutely false. WHAT YOU SOLD ME IS A TIMESHARE, regardless of the semantics that you are using. I do NOT want a timeshare.Upon receiving my "purchase"  I found out I get only 10,000 points per year which represent the outdated, 70's type of accomodations, which I would never stay at given a choice.  What was presented to me in the sales pitch were hotels and/or condo's in pristine condition and I was told they would be $500 per week on average and this is absolutely NOT what is available.  I was never tld I would be given points, nor was there a mention of [redacted]. I understand how to navigate the site and again, I have been looking for months to find something that fits within what was promised and have been unable to do so.  The more luxurious places, for example in Mexico are $300-$600 per week but you are also required to pay a mandatory all inclusive fee which makes the vacation MORE expensive than just booking on [redacted].Again, I am completely dissatisfied with the product, believe I was sold something that was not adequately or honestly represented (for the reasons noted above) and desire a refund

I have several messages to the agents at the San Dimas location.  They are tracked in my phone and I've received a response from them stating they are reviewing the account.  I want my money returned!  I dont want tutorials or explanations.  They lied and misrepresented their product!

Mr. [redacted] has
received exactly what was purchased and what was represented to him. GEVC
stands behind it’s product and sales practices. The consumer entered into a
legal binding contract, which he is expected to honor.  Should he fail to do so he will ultimately
lose his membership.

[The response was was generic and not acceptable, focusing on the examples and untrue that I ever used the service to go or do anything.  Getting "points" and not using them, is not getting anything.  My request remains the same.  I request release from ALL future and past amounts due and contract obligations, AND any credit score negative affects ]

Dear Ms. [redacted],

On August 27th, 2014 you sent an e-mail to GEVC Member Services stating that you realized you cannot afford the payment and kindly asked if there was anyway you could terminate the contract. This was 25 days after your purchase and a week after you closed escrow. When we explained that cancellation was not possible, now your correspondence of September 11th, 2014 states that our "company is rude, we scammed you, and misrepresented you."

You did not cancel your purchase within the 7 day rescission period of time allowed by the state of CA. We closed the escrow on time as represented and we paid your enrollment and your first dues to RCI as represented. Our Member Services staff is ready to assist you in getting you out on vacation. Member Services can also explain the difference between a Priceline 250 square foot hotel room and a 1,2 and 3 bedroom resort accommodations.

Revdex.com Date:            November 21, 2014 Consumer:  [redacted] Case #:         [redacted] Response: Ms. ** purchased a membership in GEVC on November 14, 2014, we received her cancelation notice on November 16, 2014....

Customer is well within her rescission period and was canceled in our system on November 17, 2014.  A refund of her down payment was credited to her credit card on November 21, 2014. We apologize for any confusion this customer has.  Ms. ** was advised during the sales presentation and during her document signing verification that use of her membership cannot begin until after the close escrow.  We are unclear what website Ms. ** is referring to.  Please be aware it is our desire to update the system to provide the best service and technology for all of our members, allowing faster and more accurate information.  Routine maintenance is essential to provide the best service possible.

Response:
Global goes to great lengths to
assure that all consumers get the same presentation. We have over 11,000
members traveling all over the world through the benefits of the club. There
are absolutely no misleading sales practices.
It was explained to Ms. [redacted],
as it is to all consumers, that there are in fact thousands of weeks available every
day. As of today on the RCI website there are over 5200 Last Call (30-days or
less) reservations available and over 162,000 Extra Vacations  (2-days to 18-months) booking window.
Regarding our Member Services
staff being rude and unhelpful; Our system shows Ms. [redacted] only called once
on 2/12/14. Ms. Garcia who took your call states; you requested Solvang for
that weekend and it was not available. She is adamant that there was no rudeness
and it is in the notes that she reassured you to call us back for your next
request and you just hung up.
You state that you have attempted
to book on line. We invite all new members to our monthly orientation on how to use the system and navigate the RCI website, we can’t find your name as
attending. We would like to extend a one-on-one tutorial on how to use your
membership and navigate the website so you may enjoy the benefits of what you
purchased without stress.
GEVC is dollar for dollar the
best timeshare product on the market, the 11,000+ members know it is not a
scam.  GEVC delivers exactly what was represented
as evidence by the literally hundred thousand weeks available at any time. We apologize
for your frustration and look forward honoring our contract as represented.

The consumer has been contacted as of 8/26/2016.

We did not respond to GEVC 25 days after, we responded within the time alloted. However, GEVC did not respond to our initial cancellation request, just the second one, which was beyond the acceptable time limit (which they erroneously told me [30 days instead of 7]). They then froze my account but kept charging me. This is a scam and the way in which GEVC goes about duping consumers into this substandard product. Not one guarantee they made hold up and what kind of paid membership benefit do you get when you can find reservations cheaper online? The end result is they lie to people and then try and lock them into these "real estate" transactions so that they can keep profiting. However, in this day of social networking, I will make sure to campaign against GEVC and let everyone know (with more specifics) what I went through until I am no longer obligated to be part of that club.

I have tried for some time to keep up with my end of this contract which is why such time has passed. The rescission period did not allow adequate time for me to figure out that what was described to me was absolutely false. I understand that money is very important to your company and you do not like to release people of their contracts however I was completely lied to and deceived by the salesmen in my purchase. I had no idea what I was really getting into here. After these years of dealing with all of the stress of this timeshare I refuse to deal with it any longer. I have stopped my payments. I would appreciate if you release me of this contract and just right this wrong done by your company. The stress and pressure I was under by your staff was unbearable and I felt I had no choice but to sign. It was very overwhelming to me. I just cant believe a company such as yours would treat their customers like this. I am telling you I was completely taken advantage of and your answer to me is "who cares, we cant do anything about it" I have wasted a lot of money trusting the words of your salesmen and I refuse to waste a penny more. My payments have ceased and I will not honor any further obligations to this contract, I am considering myself cancelled, and would greatly appreciate it if you do the same.
