Review: I applied for a duplicate Social Security card in early October 2013. With several windows open, I believed I was in the SSA website. Since so many government services now require a fee (for example, a US passport), I assumed this was another such fee. My full information--name, address, SSN, DOB, parents' full names, my late father's SSN, etc., were all required to proceed. Then I was charged $39.00 for a duplicate card. Only after payment was submitted via my credit card, was I informed I must still mail my driver's license to my local SSA office in Massachusetts, or go there in person--not possible due to the shutdown. After the shutdown ended, I went to the SSA office with my ID documents and was informed that a duplicate Social Security card is free, with proof of identity. I was advised to dispute the $39.00 charge since I'd thought I was on the SSA site. I read the forms I had printed and noticed NO indication therein that personal information submitted will not be used for fraudulent purposes, or sold to other parties. The authentic US Government SSA forms for obtaining a duplicate Social Security card, as viewed at the SSA office, don't appear confusing and difficult, as claimed on the website of this business and in its replies to previous complaints filed with the Revdex.com and posted on the Revdex.com website. I am extremely concerned about unauthorized use of my personal and financial information for identity theft. The "D-" grade given to this business by the Revdex.com does not reassure me. I have notified my bank (the credit card issuer) and Equifax.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund; deletion of all personal and financial data submitted; and a guarantee that said information will not be sold, given, transmitted, or disseminated to other parties in the U.S. or abroad, for any purpose whatsoever, whether legitimate or fraudulent. I would be interested to hear of any pending litigation concerning this company but at this time do not plan to engage in same.

Review: We realized we didn't have a copy of our oldest daughter's SS card when she was old enough to apply for a Driver's Permit.
This company presents itself in a manner (layout and url) as if it is part of the Official Government Agency required to obtain replacement SS cards.
Going back now and re-reading the footnotes and disclaimers this Website does state what they really are. I am not very web/internet savvy and the attempt to appear as a Official SS card Processing site was good enough to deceive me. I can concede that I did voluntary agree to pay them $39 for what amounted to "taking the information that I gave them and printing it into the right boxes on the official form from the US government". We have been waiting 6 weeks for the card to arrive and not until my husband looked into today for me did we realize what had really happened. We feel that this is a very deceptive Service. Their website does claim that once they fill out the form for you after 7 days you may not receive a refund.
Yes we feel that the $39 was obtained fraudulently, but the greater long term fear is that to complete this form, this company has obtained the name, address, and SS# for my daughter, my husband, and myself. I believe we can contact the credit bureau and have a fraud claim placed on all 3 of us but we have no way of knowing for sure that this sensitive information will truly be destroyed even if you demand it of them.Desired Settlement: At a minimum, we want a confirmation in writing from the company that they have destroyed all data that was collected by them for [redacted] & [redacted] We realize that this does not prove that they have in actuality destroyed the data, but in case our credit report shows new fraudulent activity and we are forced to take additional legal action against this business, we wanted an official statement from this business stating they destroyed all of our data.

Review: I mistakenly took this website for a government website to change the middle name on my social security card. I was taken directly to an application form where I filled in name and social security number, submitted this form and then realized my mistake when taken next to a payment with credit card page. I did not give any credit card information but was concerned that this website now has my social security number. Review: Oct. 10th 2013 I went online to a site that appeared to be a Government site to apply for a duplicate Social Security for my Grandson. Reference ID number [redacted]. Post application and paying a fee of $39.00 I realized that this was not an official government website and requested a cancellation of the request and refund less than 72 hours after initial order. I received no response and waited patiently for the refund to appear on my account. The advertising for this site is deceptive and misleading. My request should have been honored and was not. Review: This is an online scam taking advantage of people like myself trying to start a new business. I have requested a refund for a service that they were offering but according to the IRS this is a scam and to be wary of a site that charges for a free service IRS provides!! Review: I thought this website was an official government website with "expedited service" to replace a lost social security card. The charge for this was $49. After paying the fee, I received a form with my information that I was instructed to print and mail to a Social Security office. This is not "expedited service". When I arrived at the Social Security office, I was informed that I had been lured into a phishing attack. When I returned home I looked at their website and found small grey text at the bottom explaining that they are not a federal agency. I fear that Govservices Corp. is a fraudulent service that lures unsuspecting consumers into providing very sensitive information that could be used for identity theft. I have contacted the company several times requesting all trace of my information be removed. I have received several answers asking me to read their policies.Desired Settlement: I have given out very sensitive information to a questionable business that I feel obtained this information by misrepresentation. I would like the business to assure me that my information will be permanently deleted from their databases, any other database that they are related to, and any possible paper trail. It looks official. Only when I got the email did I realize it wasn't a government website. Only after I paid for my social security card did they say I had to print the form out and take it in or mail it in to get my card. Review: completed webform for a replacement social security card believing that I was at a government website & charged $39. Requested refund but no response.
I entered the govservices.us website believing it was a government site to request a replacement social security card. I was charged $39 to access the government form and printed it out. I mailed the form to my local social security office to get the replacement card but it was returned because I must send an original form of ID with the form. (The info on the website did not say I needed an original form of id.) When I visited my local social security office I was informed the a replacement social security card is free. I reentered the govservices.gov website and entered my client id [redacted] and requested a refund. I have yet to hear from this company. I did review the website and at the bottom I did find a disclosure that they are not affiliated with the social security office and that a card is free but only because I was hunting for where to email their service department.Desired Settlement: All I want is for my credit card to be credited the $39.

Since that time I have attempted to contact govservies at least 8 times, both by email and by phone, requesting a status. I have never received a response. I have not received an EIN as a result of their efforts.
As a result, on February 11, 2014, I reapplied for for an EIN directly from the IRS and received one directly from the IRS on February 18, 2014. I have attempted to contact govservices for a full refund in accordance with their written policy as stated online:

Upon contacting my local SSA office, I learned that the US Government does not or would not ever charge anyone for a social security card. Review: I recently was transitioning jobs and needed my social security card for employment verification. After scouring my house, I came to the conclusion that I had lost my social security card. Review: I recently got married and was looking online for the SSA form to fill out to change my name so I could take it to the SSA in person. As I had been advised it was online. However, I got on a website that I later figured out that was very misleading as I thought I was on an official government website especially with a website name of www.govservices.us/ and their website comes up before the official SSA website if you type in a search of SSA name change online. I started filling out the application to change my name on my Social Security card and I included my social security number and the numbers of my parents. I am now assuming they have all of our information in their system and this is not right. I don't understand why they have "GOV" in their website name as that is VERY misleading. I selected the submit button and then realized I was not on the correct website when it was asking for payment. I did read their privacy policy but I still don't want them to keep my information on file. I want all of my personal information from my application deleted. I did not pay anything luckily but I did submit the application with my personal information on it including my social security number and the social security numbers of my parents.Desired Settlement: I want all of my personal information deleted from their database as I had no intention of giving this information online I thought I was just completing an online form. This is not right and I feel that they should remove ALL of my personal information so it can not be used by anyone else. Review: My wallet was stolen by a pickpocket while on a trip to Italy. The wallet contained some cash, my driver’s license and possibly my Social Security card. I reported the theft to the local police in Italy, but was unable to do anything else until we returned to the US.
As soon as we got home I started the process of replacing the lost documents. I thought it would be expedient to apply for the SS replacement card on line, and I ended up at the GovServices website, mistaking it for a legitimate government site. (I realize now that the site has disclaimers, but I was tired and a bit anxious and didn't notice until after the fact. The State of Florida charges a fee for replacing a driver’s license, so I also assumed the $39 charge was a government fee.)
As it turns out, I had to take the filled out form to the local Social Security office anyway in order to show proof of identity (my passport) and was informed by the agent that I had been “scammed”, and that the replacement is free.
Two attempts to contact the company by email (two different email addresses, but essentially the same message as I'm providing Revdex.com) were rejected with a "permanent failure" error message.
While I wouldn’t go so far (yet) as to the scam assessment, the fact is I filled out the form myself, took it to the SS office myself and handled the processing by myself. I believe your site is misleading, and that GovServices charges for a totally unneeded (and in my case, unused) service. I would appreciate a refund credited to my Visa account if the charge has, in fact, been processed and that my “order” be cancelled.
I’m also very concerned about identity theft and am uncertain that this business is a legitimate one. I also wonder from the email failures if the company is still in business at all. I would appreciate some information as to whether or not this is a legitimate business and what the current status of the company is.

The website of this business has a section in small print, saying you could get a free card. I had already paid the $39 fee, but contacted them, immediately, asking to cancel the order. The terms for this company says they will cancel/refund a non-processed order. Since I contacted them immediately, I can assume they have not fulfilled the order. The only way to contact this business is through their website. There is no phone number. I have sent them four emails and nobody has replied.
