I was misled by this company (irs-ein-tax-id.com) everything is design to give users the impression they are dealing with the IRS directly when in reality they are just middle men charging for a service that is free in the first place if I knew that I would not have use this company
I have hired Thomas *** many times. Over the last 5 year's and have always been impressed every time
I know what IRS website looks like so when I clicked on the link to irs-ein-tax-id.com the resulting website did not look any different to me, I was certain this was iRS website and the correct site to apply for tax id number. Only after I was asked to pay $185 for the "registration" I became suspicious that something was wrong. I can imagine Thousand of people falling for this trap website, we live in fast times, digital era when most people do not read the fine print. We come to expect that our government will protect us from predatory sites but in reality, it is our duty to check and verify every website for ourselves. I am surprised this website is allowed to exist.

We are transparent and make it clear who we are and our services and we absolutely agree, all online shoppers should do their due diligence on all websites for their own security.
Revdex.com is listing this company as a "Tax Reporting Service" but this is false and misrepresentation of a company that operate a FAKE IRS website in order to trap people who think it is actually the real IRS website and charge them a $185 fee plus extracting personal information in the process. It is not clear why Revdex.com is helping a fake organization by giving them some sort of legitimacy. This company has nothing to do with Tax Reporting Services. Any reviews about tax reporting are fake.

You do not provide any tax filing or reporting service, that claim on its own shows how fraudulent you are. Each and every one of your complaints are alleging the same, you lead your clients to believe that you are the actual IRS and that it cost $185 to obtain a Tax Id number. If you are so innocent why don't you have a bold banner right on top of your page, saying "TAX ID NUMBER IS FREE AT WWW.IRS.GOV"
when you have this posted right on top of your website, maybe you could claim that fair warning was given.
Charges $185 for a free EIN with the irs. Tried to gett a refund but of course that didn't happen. I would say so your research before just clicking on a website dressed up to look like a government website and pops up first in the search engine.

Our website, like many others available, provide online document preparation services for a fee as well as informational content to help new business owners. We have many satisfied customers that are happy with our services. We provide refunds to customers if we fail to provide the EIN in the specified time, if we do not catch an error in the application or if the refund request is received prior to the issuance of the EIN.
This is a deceptive company and should not appear on website search results. I will contact search engines to see if this company can be removed. The reason this is a deceptive company is that they are charging $185 for essentially the same service as the IRS provides for free. The IRS provides a free EIN number online immediately. The IRS provides a PDF online which can be saved or emailed. This company emails the PDF to you. So you are essentially paying this company $185 to email you a file which you could email to yourself or save directly to your computer without email.
This company states that their online form is easier to enter than the IRS's online form. I disagree. They are essentially the same fields to enter with a very similar user experience.
The company discloses the fact that they are not the IRS. But that information is very hard to find and is not clear to the user.

This is a useless response as it repeats exactly what I stated. They fail to mention that everything they state is hidden on their website and hard to find and easy to miss, leaving the user to incorrectly assume that they are filling out a form directly with the federal government. Any amount they charge is an excessive charge as they are providing no value added service. I would love to meet a happy customer from this company. I suspect here are none.

This company's website mimics the IRS and leads you to enter personal information to obtain an EIN number. The information includes the owner's Social Security number and home address. I was in a hurry today and entered the information and blindly agreed to a $185 charge to get an EIN number from the IRS. The IRS form is very similar and in my haste, I thought that it was strange that there was a sudden change in policy where the IRS was no charging tax payers for EIN numbers. It is not clear on the website that this is a "funnel" service where they pass re-process the information that you entered to the IRS and act as a middle man to give you the EIN that you would have obtained immediately on the IRS site. Bottom line, it is a scam that preys on business owners that have uninformed assistants, or are in a hurry.
Immediate Refund and purging of all information obtained through this dishonest business practice.

That said, Mr. filled out an application on 2/2/18 at 4:23pm. We attempted to process the application and received a REF114 error from the IRS stating an EIN had already been assigned that day. We sent an email 2/2/18 at 8:51pm asking if he would like us to attempt to process his application on Monday. There was no response to the email.
On Saturday 2/3/18 at 1:26am we received a call to cancel the application.
On Monday 2/5/18 11:33am the application was cancelled and the amount refunded. The refund was processed prior to the receipt of the Revdex.com complaint

Gov't Assist, LLC is posing as a legitimate IRS website. It's website looks like the IRS and tricks people into believing they are on the IRS website.
On 1/2/18, I filed for a tax ID for my deceased father. I wanted a trust ID, but mistakenly clicked on the button for an estate. I received confirmation #XXXXXXXXXXX-XXXX. The next day I received an EIN for my estate with more information that led me to believe I was not dealing with the IRS, but a third party. I emailed the company on 1/3/18, but did not receive a response. I called the company and it truly sounds like this person is a one man operation out of his home. Why would anyone pay $185 when obtaining an EIN with the real IRS is FREE? When I spoke to Marcus on 1/5/18 he told me to go back into the system to submit another application for a trust but to not pay. Write him an email and he would change it. When I tried to do so, the date of the trust would only go back to 1991. I called Marcus again and he said that's because the IRS won't allow online applications older than 25 years. He told me if I clicked on the trust button in the first place, he would have refunded my money immediately, but because I got an estate ID that I did not need, he would only refund half my money. I am writing to the Revdex.com because this person is deceiving the public into thinking his website is the IRS and unknowingly people are paying him $185 for something that is FREE. His disclosure are not clear.

We Did provide the service based on the information you supplied. When we realized there was an error we tried to work with you to correct. Please note no one can file online for an EIN for a trust that is over 25 years old. You can call the IRS and may get through to someone but this is IRS policy.

Company provided service to obtain IRS EIN number with advertising that appeared to be the IRS. Charged $185 for service that is free through IRS.
I obtained an EIN Tax number on 12/13/17 from Govt. Asst. LLC (they provided me with the following confirmation #:XXXXXXXXXXX-XXXX in an e-mail they sent to me on that date). They charged $185 to obtain this tax ID and their website makes it appear as though they are actually the IRS. As I found out later one can actually go to the IRS website and easily obtain this number for free. When I called to see if I could get a refund for this amount their customer service representative stated to me that they clearly note that they are a third party and I would not be able to obtain a refund. This is not clear, at all, on their website and I would suggest that they actually intentionally try to make it look like they are the IRS (and I am not easily taken in by such scams).
I would like to obtain a refund of the $185. As a larger issue it would be helpful if Revdex.com or some other entity could work to ensure that their advertising is more transparent so that others are also not "taken" by this business entity. Providing very clear language that their service can actually be obtained for free via the IRS would be a start!

I would suggest that this disclaimer is not appropriately highlighted on their website. For the company to be transparent with the public it should be prominently displayed in large type and, preferably, on the payment page before a customer uses its services and pays for such services that can be rendered by the IRS for free.

On September 26, I applied for an EIN for a non-profit organization. I thought I was in IRS website until today. This company was cheating.

This is not an honest business. As it claims " We are available 24/7 unlike the IRS site which is only open limited hours a day during the week. ", I called the number (XXX)XXX-XXXX at 1:14PM on October 14,2017, the answer machine said they are not available.Please call back on normal business hour.
We have received your charge dispute and per our contract with Visa, we can no longer refund the charge. We will response the the dispute in the appropriate time period allotted and then the charge-back department will decide if a refund in warranted.
This company uses the IRS logo at the top of the website to seem as if they are the IRS and to charge for a free service.
On 10/29/17 I went through google to find the IRS EIN website and the link I clicked was this website: ***. It had the *** logo at the top and it seemed to be legitimate. I was prompted to pay $185 and thought it must be correct if this is the *** site. I found out a couple of days later that this service is actually free through the IRS.
I'm a college educated engineer, so I can only imagine how many people go through this on a daily basis. How many elderly people and others get taken advantage of by the "service" they provide. This is predatory and should not be allowed to continue. I called them today and was refused a refund. I will continue to post online about my issues with this company and hopefully more people will come forward that did not know this service should have been free and hopefully this will stop others from getting taken advantage of as well. This company now has social security numbers and contact information that they shouldn't.
I would like a refund. Plain and simple.

Website is very misleading. Was brought to it by accident and looks so similar to IRS website that I wasn't aware that I was on the wrong site.
While trying to file for EIN for a client I was brought to a link for the Govt Assist site when I search IRS EIN on Google. The website looks so close to the IRS website that I was under the impression that I was on the IRS website. When I noticed that I been on the wrong page, the n ext day, I called to request my work to be cancelled and a refund be issued. I was told that no refunds are allowed. I wasn't offered anything at all to fix my mistake costing me greatly with my employer.
I would like a full refund for services rendered as I was mistaken and tried to fix this as soon as I was aware and spoken to like I was an idiot from the customer service lady that answered my call.
Refund has been processed as requested.
