Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:
They wanted me to come back in and let them cut my hair again! I don't want to come back in.  I prefer to have products to make up for their mistake. They had a manager there that did not know how to handle the situation. I would like a gift certificate sent for my distress.

Review: I went to this establishment to get a trim and to get my hair blow out. Before I decided to allow one of these ladies touch my hair, I ask if they know how to blow out curly hair, and they assured me that they know. I already had my hair wash, so they just needed to just raise my conditioner off. I sat at [redacted]'s chair, I knew that right away that she didn't know how to cut hair. I related to her that I have long layers, she only cut my end in the back and didn't even touch my ends on my layers. I was so upset, I should have just gotten up and left, that was my mistake. Then she really does not know how to blow out hair either. Her manager help with blowing out my hair, which I related to [redacted], twice that I do not like the flat iron and her and her manager said that is the only way to get the frizz out. If they knew how to blow out hair, they would not have to use a flat iron.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for $49. I was even more upset when I the manager charge me $49 for service that I was not pleased with. I really didn't want to cause any problem even though I related to both that I was not satisfy with their service. I just paid and got out. I will need to let at least two weeks go by to have someone else trim my hair. I will never go there again. These individuals should me honest with the customer and informed them, that if they do not know how to deal/manage a type of hair, DO NOT INTEND TO CUT OR BLOWOUT THE HAIR.

Business

Response:

The business has responded. Please see below: [redacted] came in 15 minutes before closing and needed a haircut and styling. She was informed a styling may take up to 45 minutes and only a hair cut is possible. As per her request, [redacted] agreed to stay a little late and catered to [redacted] as she needed to be at a event in the evening. Also, [redacted] showed up with her hair wet which had conditioner in it. Our policy is, if anyone is in the shampoo chair (hair rinse), they will be subject to pay additional $4 which was NOT taken from [redacted] for rinsing her hair out. Her styling service ended after closing hours and we had 2 seasoned stylist working on her. I was there on premises and [redacted] didn't address the issue with me at all. She chose to leave w/o tipping neither [redacted] or [redacted] whom had spent over 40 minutes on her and both tried to accommodate her to the fullest, they went above and beyond !! The Salon has 75-100 customers on the daily basis and [redacted] is well capable of giving haircuts, styling, etc. [redacted] paid $14 for her haircut and $35 for her blowout (long hair) & wasn't charged for getting her hair rinsed at the shampoo bar. I have video surveillance and it can be shared if necessary. Though my motto is "the customer is always right", I feel [redacted] is taking advantage of the situation. I will NOT be reimbursing her money !!

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I disagreed with the statement that was written, Yes I did arrive 25 to 30 minutes to closing, but I specifically ask more than once, are you should you know how to blow out curly hair and [redacted] siad YES. Is not the blow-out but the hair cut was not UP TO PAR. I have always gone to these haircut places with my hair wash, becuause I feel that most do not know how to wash one's hair. Secondly I prefer to use my owe Shampoo/conditioner.....so you are telling me that you charge someone an extra $4 to rise their hair, I never heard such a statement. Thirdly, [redacted] did assist [redacted] because she did not know how to blow out hair, of cause I did not tip them because I felt that [redacted] over charge me. I will never go there again and will make sure my neighbor, friends and relative will not go there either. These individuals should not have a license to CUT or BLOW-OUT HAIR.....definitely need more training.I am NOT disatify with their respondence.?

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: I have written many, many times with regard to this store with NO resolution. Yesterday, I wrote about my driving 1.5 hours EACH WAY to meet the salon manager I presume at 12 noon as she had told me after checking that she did in fact work on Sunday. I asked her to make an appointment, but she informed me that she could NOT and I had to come in and be put on the schedule. I came shortly after noon as was told that [redacted] would be with me soon. After two more persons were served, I was told that [redacted] would be "here soon" which indicated that she was NOT in the store as was inferred when I arrived. I waited forty five minutes or longer and told the call who was "manning" the desk to have [redacted] call me. At my last writing to ** of Great Clips, I had not heard from her. Today, I came home around 6 PM and there was a message from [redacted] stating that she didn't know why I didn't show up for my appointment??? NOT TRUE as my name showed on the computer screen and I talked with a very nice employee two or three times about "the delay". In the phone message, [redacted] then went on to state that she had "sitter problems" and had to bring her baby with her. There was NO baby in the store the whole time I was there. And, this statement indicates that she was scheduled and knew that I was coming as arranged previously with her. Then she stated: I hope everything was satisfactory and that someone helped me while I was there and should I need assistance in the future, do not hesitate to call! I don't know about you, but this whole mess is a bunch on malarkey! This store manager is NOT honest, honorable, reliable, professional, or have one ounce on integrity. Furthermore, you have told me on several occasions that my messages are sent to her and she indicates she did not have my address to send COUPONS for hair cuts and washes to compensate for the issues I have endured. As a managing organization, there needs to b intervention, instruction and overseeing of this store. Additionally, she tried to convince me that the gal that destroyed my hair NOW has had the appropriate training and I should let her fix my cut. I should think NOT. Please help me with this. I had my hair cut far enough in advance of my trip out of town and NOW I have to go with a disaster. NO ONE should have to go thru these types of tactics!Desired Settlement: I would like a haircut to correct the mess that was made. Then I would like a refund as I have driven out of my way to have this taken care of my the manager and then I would like the "several coupons" as stated by the manager, [redacted] in her phone message to me. This is the least that can be done for what I have been through with this salon.

Business

Response:

Hello, I am [redacted] Head Manager for Great Clips. I initially received an e-mail from home office stating we had a customer complaint. She received her haircut and she felt it was uneven and too short from a new stylist we hired. I was told to contact our customer and correct the wrong with offering a corrective haircut and to check to see if we have her correct address to send a coupon to keep hope she would return. I left her a voice mail stating all of what I was told to say. she e-mailed again to home office complaining of no response to her complaint. I finally received a phone call back after leaving a couple of messages. She was not happy about her haircut and she had to drive an hour and half away. She said she could come in Sunday or monday because she comes to [redacted] sometimes. I said I could help her anytime. She chose sunday and wanted 12:00pm right when we open. I said to her I would be here from 12 to 5 which is our open hours. We however could not make an appointment but she could do our online check in or be put on the waiting list when she arrived. I was not scheduled that day to work. I wanted to make sure she was taken care of because she only wanted me to help her. she did not want any other stylist to help her. I arrived with my daughter before 12 and waited until 12:28 and I thought I was getting stood up for her time she wanted. I told my staff I would be getting food from next door and would be back in a few. I came back at 12:55 from my records. A stylist told me she told her I went next door and would be back. I called our customer to explain the situation. She never responded and now she reported our salon to Revdex.com. I'm not sure how many salons she has done this to. Stylists arn't perfect but we are here to help with realistic options. I will send coupons but our company policy is to either correct the haircut or reimburse money. It's one or the other. It can't be both. I apologize for allthe inconveniences and will learn from this situation to communicate more clearly as a Manager. Thank you.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved but a copy of this will be forwarded to the corporate office of Great Clips as they have been made very aware of the lack of professionalism that this person has displayed with me. It is my opinion that this person does NOT display any attributes of managerial abilities.

It is a very sad state of business for Great Clips in general as [redacted] does not have an ounce of honesty or integrity and this very "LATE IN THE GAME OFFER" is NO more than she offered after my initial complaint and wouldn't it have been better to resolve it then than carry it on for months and my still not being satisfied. Not to mention that there was another 3 hours of WASTED driving time for me to meet at an agreed time and date. Again, she and I mutually agreed to the meeting date and time and "with her personally" to fix the mess that was made by one of her stylists (used very loosely).

She also fails to mention that she was the one who told me she would be at the GC location on the scheduled date, but that NO appointment could be made. Then she tells you that I could have gone online to schedule an appointment, but I do not have that capability while traveling the 1.5 hours one way to attend my church on Sunday mornings. But we agreed to the date and time and I told her I would be at the GC location at NOON and I was.

She also failed to mention that she brought her child to work with her that morning and I was told that by one of the other employees and then complains to "YOU" the Revdex.com that she wasn't even schedule to work! That in itself is inappropriate and much less so when you are trying to rectify a situation "gone wrong". Additionally, she failed to mention that she attempted to convince me to have the "same person" who wrecked my hair now FIX IT@ What is more than curious is her rationale for suggesting this! She told me "she now has been through the GC training and knows how to cut hair"!!!!??? I would think that is the wrong order in this process.

Again, [redacted] is NOT managerial material and a copy of this file will be forwarded to the appropriate parties for further investigation.[redacted]

Review: I have tried three times to get in touch with the [redacted] of the Great Clips hair salon in [redacted] I contacted the Great Clips company and was told that this salon is not managed by them, it is a private managed salon. I have visited this salon several times, but the last time I visited the person who cut my hair disregarded my instruction as to how I wanted by hair cut. The very first cut was about six inches shorter than what I ask her to do. Then it was no going back. she finished the cut. I was so upset at the mess she made of my hair, I was in tears. I waited a couple of days and called and talked to the onsite manager. She said to come in and she would see what she could do to help. That was a mistake, because she did not seem to know what to do. She knew that I was very upset. I tried to get in touch with the [redacted] to express my experience with his salon. After three attempts to get an answer from them, I think people should be warned about the type of customer service that is given at this business. My hair is so short that I have had to buy new items to brush, comb, curl and style my hair. I have even considered buying a wig to cover my hair until it grows back out.Desired Settlement: At first I only wanted the chance to explain the issue with the salon to the [redacted], but since they will not even reply to my issue, I think they owe me much more than that. I would like full refund of everything I have to purchase to maintain my hair until it grows back the six inches of hair that was removed. But I do not plan on returning to this salon for any type of service.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Great Clips regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Regards,

Review: This business advertises on HokieCash.com and offers a coupon there for a haircut for $6.99.I printed coupons for my husband and myself, but after we had had our haircuts, we were told that the manager said they could only accept the $8.99 coupons from the online source and that we had to cut them from a print publication for the $6.99 one.I believe this is misleading/false advertising. We chose that business because of this deal. If an advertiser advertises on a site like "HokieCash.com" then the expectation is that the online coupons should be valid.Desired Settlement: I feel entitled to a $4 refund ($2 each for my husband and me), but I also feel that this vendor should not be allowed to continue to advertise on this site if the coupons will not be honored.

Review: Rudeness & rushing time-wise

I visited this store location on August 18th.

The hair stylist that cut my daughter's hair was not very kind.

She also made a sigh/sound when we explained that we wanted more taken off of the haircut.

I am not happy at all. Desired Settlement: $14 Refund for haircut plus $2 tip.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

I am very satisfied with the way the Manager of this location handled this situation. My daughter WOULD like another haircut, but I am hesitant to go back to that location because of possibly running into same hair stylist.

Review: I went to get a haircut not even 2 weeks ago and told the lady, [redacted] specifically (since I had long hair to start with) that I want it short in the back then going down and my longest layer of hair to be shoulder length. I was such in shell shocked when the whole thing was complete. my hair went from mid-back to like a centimeter below my ears all "one length" everything was so choppy and uneven. The bill came out to be after shampoo, cut, and blowdry to be $38.00. The shampoo was $4.00, cut was, $6.99 and the blow dry was $25.00. The blow dry literally took not even 5 minutes due to my hair being very fine and short. I went home, my heart was pounding of what the outcome was. Then 2 days later I found the receipt and saw that they charged me for a long blow out instead for a short blowout. How is by your ears a long haircut! I called the manager and the owner called me back, I told her I want a refund. She declined. Then I said I have no problem paying for the shampoo plus for what the blowout for person with short hair and that I wanted a refund for the cut and the difference from the long to the short and again she declined. Her response was that oh come in and we can fix it. Does it look like I want my hair touched again?? I look like a boy and the cut is so uneven I do not want my hair to be any shorter than it is and she refused to help me.Desired Settlement: I just want the $10.00 refund for the blow out since my hair is short and not long at all and the $6.99 for the cut to be refunded. I feel like that is horrible customer service where the owner only resolvement is to fix the cut. I do not trust them to touch my hair again it is way to short to put another scissors to my hair at this point.

Review: I put $120 on a gift card from great clips. Me and my son got 2 really bad hair cuts. I paid to have my sister in law, who is a hair dresser, fix me and my sons hair. I thought I would give them one more chance and picked out 2 different hair dressers and proceeded to get 2 even worse hair cuts which I again had to pay my in law to fix. I am 50 years old and have had many bad hair cuts but these were the 4 worst hair cuts I have ever gotten. I even gave them one more chance to cut my hair and well it was even worse than the 4 cuts we had before. I had to get a crew cut to fix my hair. I have been trying to get a refund on the gift card. I called corporate head quarters and they said you will have to contact the particular store. I have been into the store at least a half a dozen times to get a refund and each time I am told "only the manager can refund you the money." So, I go when the manager is supposed to be in at work but she always leaves early. So, she is never there during a time when normal people can reach her. Most people work 9-5 and she works until 3pm usually. Even when she is supposed to work until 5pm, she leaves early. I have left work early to meet her and she is never there. So, I can never get a refund. This place is the absolute worst hair salon that I have ever been. This is the only place where the hair dresser ran the electric clippers in circles through my hair like she was buffing a car.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund on the gift card. They should cover the 5 bad hair cuts also since I had to get them redone.

Review: I went into Great Clips on 8/4/2013 for a haircut [redacted] was the girls name who cut my hair. She really butchered my hair I only wanted a trim and let's just say I can't even get my rollers in that's how short she cut my hair. I wasn't shown the back before I left so I didn't see it until I was at home. I did however go back to Great Clips the next day and I spoke with the manager that was there ( I can't remember her name )but she told me she could help me with my problem of too much hair being cut off. She then took me to her chair and used a very small barreled curling iron my hair. It took her forever to get it to curl and style. I did get charged for the service she did which I don't feel I should have had to pay for when infact I only wanted a trim to begin with. I am a very active senior and this whole expeience made me so deperessed that I didn't leave my house all I could do was sit and cry. I wouldn't let anyone see me infact when I did go to church that Sunday I was so ashamed because people were looking at me funny. Since 8/4/2013 I have had to go back 3 more times just to get my hair styled so that I could go out in public and every single time I get charged. I have made several complaints to the managers there and no one seems to want to help me other then telling me come sit in my chair. I did tell them I was going to consult with the Revdex.com and they just simply said go right ahead. So here I am. Can you please tell me what I can do about all of this and all the money this is costing me to just be able to go out into public? I think it would only be fair for them to refund the money I have spent for the haircut and the 3 times I had to pay for them to style my hair totaling with the haircut and 3 different styles $53.00.Desired Settlement: I not only would like my $53.00 refunded but I think they should continue to style my hair once a week free of charge until this bad haircut grows out to where my rollers will stay in.

I went in on [redacted] around 5 pm for a haircut. My hairdresser was [redacted]. She washed and cut my hair and it was styled. I also went in there for a waxing of my eyebrows and I was informed that they ONLY cut hair! They don't wax, color or anything else. I paid with the debit card and the total was [redacted] and she asked if I wanted to add a tip. I stated that yes she could add [redacted] for a total of [redacted] There was no place on my receipt for me to add my tip in so I signed and off I went. I stated to [redacted] " why would I go and give more of a tip than it cost to give a haircut". [redacted] stated " maybe you should look better". They refused to give me my money back! I then asked for the manager- Which there was no one on that time and then I asked if I could speak with the owner. " [redacted] was in boston". ([redacted] had given me her personal cell number as she cuts hair in her house, so I called and left her a message) . Never heard back. I also called and asked for the manager multiple times and HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. I want the money I was owed back. I never would of given a [redacted] tip for a haircut that I paid for [redacted] for! Someone at the salon filled out my receipt.=Product_Or_Service: hair cutAccount_Number: ticket # XXXXXDesired SettlementI would like the extra money that was charged to my card put back. I never authorized that and when I call, I am getting the run around. They were rude and that's fraud when you sign something that is not yours! Business Response [redacted]Document Attached[redacted]We have gone back and looked at the receipt for this transaction (attached is an image) where the tip is clearly indicated - However, if the client is disputing the tip amount - we will refund the tip in the form of a check to her withing 30 days. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)I do accept the check as I would never give a tip of $25 for $17 haircut! I will never return to this business and I will never refer my family also. Such a shame that you lost customers because your hairdressers aren't honest! Final Consumer Response I filed a claim with the Revdex.com a while ago and back in April I received a email stating that the owner of the Great clips would refund the $20I filed a claim against a business and received an email saying the owner agreed to pay the tip back to me that the hairdresser gave herself and I should receive a check in 30 days. That was back in April and I should of received the money back in [redacted] and I gave a few weeks extra because of the holiday. I attempted to call the Great clips and was told by [redacted] that the owner handles all the finances and I would need to send him an EMAIL. I tried to send the Email but it wouldn't go through. When I called back to confirm the address I was advised that there was nothing else that they could do for me. Again a claim was filled with you and the case was closed but I never received a refund. I would like to receive the funds that are owed to me.
