Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I already sent in a check of $100 to casa blanca and want it back. I accept the dining card but my issue is trust with your company and with Casa blanca.  Up front you should say you are getting an economy room with delays. late  and stops on the flights. I was advised when I made the appointment there were no restrictions and no fees on my part of I show up with my husband early which I did. Also there is nothing in writing that I have to pay the fees and taxes on the hotel for 2 nights only states above all fees and taxes included which is misleading. It refers to both offers. Nothing in writing or what was said has been true. This is like a slap in the face. You took advantage of our time and it was high pressure sales. The girl on the phone also said  it would be a 90 minute presentation which was not it took longer and we spent our evening there just to now to get frustrated with your company.
Kind Regards,[redacted]

Ms. [redacted], I apologize if there was any misunderstanding with your experience and eventual transaction that took place the night you visited our sales office. As requested your sale has been cancelled and are now processing the necessary documentation. I am puzzled to your confusion regarding not...

obtaining a loan to purchase since all of the documents you completed and signed, loan application, authorization to obtain credit, truth and lending and HUD closing statements clearly indicate a loan was being requested. Our notes indicate our Quality Assurance Manager, Steve asked you multiple times if you want to stop the transaction that night and you said no. We appreciate you taking the time to visit us and hope we can earn your business at a later time,

[The way it was explained to us is "the maintenance fee will be waived." Nobody said "one time" or "for the first year" or any other phrases that indicated that the fee wasn't being waived in perpetuity  so we initialed believing what was told to us by the salesperson. Fraud in the inducement is what thats called. We are requesting that they void our contract.]

My husband and I were approached at the San Diego fair and offered to attended a presentation in order to check out what is offered by this timeshare company. We were curious because some of our friends own timeshares (or equivalent) and we decided to give it a shot. Also, as an incentive we were offered to get a 100$ dine in gift card, a 2 night stay with airfare in HI and a 2 night stay at some other destination within the US FOR FREE...not a bad deal I suppose, even if the timeshare offer ended up being not for us. After the presentation we decided its not time for us to invest into a timeshare yet (we both are 27 years old, active duty military, so we move around a lot and we are not ready for a lifetime financial commitment required by this company). We informed the salesman who was working with us that we will take a rain check on their offer and he assured us that that is fine and we will still get the incentives promised to us in the beginning. Instead of getting everything that was promised to us (I still have a copy of written "contract" signed by one of the companies employees who invited us to the presentation) we got a promotion voucher that only covers half of the meal and can be redeemed only as a coupon rebate not a gift card. The "free" trips require 100$-150$ deposit to start with and require a minimum of 60 days in advance booking. First of all, what do I need to put a deposit for if the trip is completely free? And second, how can people invest 8500$-14000$ into this timeshare if this company is being deceiving from the start?!
I tried calling their customer service, to see if they can do the right thing and honor their promises, and was put on hold for over 30 minutes after which I hung up. This proves, that this company tends to exhibit some very bad business practices and I am definitely going to report it to a Federal Trade Commission!

Review: I attended a presentation with great destinations. In this presentation they made it seem great destinations was the best way to travel. after the presentation I wasn't sure if I wanted to sign on, but felt pressured to do so. One month after purchasing I Tried contacting great destination with my concerns and I have received no calls back. I have continued to pay to keep my credit in good standing, but this business have not kept their word. I'm not happy with this service.Desired Settlement: I would like to end my contract with great destination.

We are in the process of contacting Ms. [redacted] to see how we can resolve her concerns, however below are the number of contacts we've had with Ms. [redacted]. It should also be noted at no time during any of these conversations was cancellation of her ownership ever brought up.July 11 Ms [redacted] purchased an ownership at our Woodland Hills office

Review: I signed up for the time share in August 2014. I realized after doing so that by the time I would get my vacation from this business I would have paid double the amount of a hotel. I called Interval to cancel and they told me that I was 3 wks into the escrow and would not get my down payment back. So I decided to work with them and start trying to schedule my trip. Everytime I tried, I was lied to and told some crazy reason about why there was nothing anywhere, anytime available. I have called and gone to the office in Woodland Hills CA several times and it's all one big run around. I am reporting this because I have spoke with others that are becoming extremely frustrated and would like some type of resolve. I am considering legal action if this complaint is not handled properly by this company.Desired Settlement: I need them to refund the majority of my money at best. I would prefer the whole amount.

Business

Response:

Regarding Ms. [redacted], our owner care department has had a number of contacts with her and to our knowledge as of 10/4/14 all of her issues were resolved. She attended one of our owner education classes in early October and nothing came up. In an effort to expand her vacation opportunities we issued an additional 30,000 of bonus use points at our expense. She initially had an issue with a gift she was given to attend presentation which we handled and resolved. Our owner care team will attempt to contact Ms. [redacted] again to see what else we can do to help her.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10278391, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[I believe that Great Destinations was not truthful with how there program works. They did not let me know all of the work you would have to put into your vacation and that you would have to wait to see if you would be able to go to the desired destination. Everytime I try to plan a vacation, my desired destination is not available. I have points to use with nowhere to go. I was made a lot of promises and to date have not been able to plan my trip. My position is that I have been mis-lead and continue to have to come out of pocket to pay for vacations and travel. I would like the staff at Great Destinations to provide me with a solution that involves me selling my time share or a full refund of my money. I have spoke to others that have joined this company and they are equally disappointed.]

[I have not received any calls from anyone in a effort to resolve my issues. I would welcome a call to resolve my issue and I am willing to speak with someone. The only call I have received is from Interval stating that I owe them money and I strongly believe that I was lied to and misinformed. I would appreciate a sincere attempt to resolve this matter and not just collection calls that allows them to provide more misleading information like a call log. In conclusion this issue is not yet resolved.]

Review: I made a mistake in buying the Time share as I thiught it was an investment. Also at that time I was not in my right state of mind as I was having my divorce. I contacted them after a week to let them know that I was not interested anymore about the time share since I dont have anybody to go with me. But they say that I could not not cancel anymore cause my cointract is already at the Escrow. Then I lost my job and could not pay anymore I even wrote them a letter telling them that I dont have a job anymore and I want to cancel my membership. They said I could not cancel they did not let me know that I couldnt cancel my membership. Everytime they call me they say that I have to pay my monthly due they dont listen I become sick and depressed about my situation. Please help me I couldnt afford to hire a lawyer.Desired Settlement: I would like to cancel my membership since I couldnt afford it anymore and I dont have a regular job now.

Review: My boyfriend and I each purchased property from Great Destinations back in December, 2014. We were told that our credit would not be hit with a hard inquiry, but a soft one which would not affect our credit score. We were also reassured that our purchase was "Real" property requiring us to go through escrow and that our loan would be a Mortgage Loan and give us credit as owning property and allow us a tax right off. This was the only reason we decided to purchase a timeshare, because we were convinced by the sales team that they were different then any other timeshare as we were purchasing property and NOT Time or Points. We were also told that by purchasing through them, that we would be able to stay at 5 star resorts for the price we would normally pay for a 2 or 3 star resort. Once escrow closed, we learned that we DID NOT get a mortgage loan, but a personal non-secured loan, which reduced our credit scores by over 100 points, our credit was hit with a hard inquiry, NOT A SOFT INQUIRY as promised, and we have not been able to secure a week away at a 5 star resort after multiple attempts since making our purchase back in December, 2014. We have discussed our concerns with about 5 different people at Great Destinations, including the President, [redacted], who first told us that he would work with us, and even suggested bringing the loan in-house to avoid it affecting our credit the way it did. When we began to discuss this option, he quickly changed his mind and told us that this was not an option. We have asked for our money to be refunded 100% as we felt that we agreed to a product that turned out NOT to be what we were told we were purchasing. Mr. [redacted] stated that he would not give us our money back and that he wanted to focus on getting us on vacation and enjoying our product. This too has been a huge problem and we have not been able to benefit from our purchase except for a 4 day get away in April because there was not a week available.Desired Settlement: I would like to request a full refund of all monies paid out from the time I signed the contract in December, 2014 to present. I would also request that Great Destinations take the 2 hard inquiries made on my credit be removed as well as the "personal/unsecured loan" showing on my credit report which has seriously lowered my overall credit score.

Response:

It is unfortunate we have been unable to satisfy [redacted] I believe we have gone out of our way to try and satisfy her requests. She has requested two 2 bedroom villas in a very high demand resort in a very high demand location and unfortunately at this time we have not been able to fulfill her request. We offered alternate accommodations for the dates she requested which were not suitable to her. We will continue to work with [redacted] to resolve the issue to her satisfaction as best we can.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I don't feel that the company addressed all of my concerns that I outlined in my original complaint. They have chosen only to address the most recent issue that concerns our attempt to use our timeshare to go to Maui in October, which we have been waiting since February to have fulfilled. I understand that they have made another offer, however the other offer was a one bedroom, not a two bedroom and it was only a 3 star (if that) accommodation, not a 5 star as they have sold us over and over again when we purchased our timeshare. We are traveling with my severely special needs daughter which requires more space then a one bedroom hotel room. We need a decent size kitchen, laundry facilities, and space to allow all her medical equipment that is required to travel with her, not to mention her nurse and my parents who are also traveling with us. We also have additional family members who are meeting us over there and the location that Great Destinations offered us is not close to where the rest of our family would be staying, which is why I requested the three other hotel choices that were available to us in our Great Destinations/Interval International guide book. This aside, their response back did not address the two hard inquiries on my credit report, the unsecured personal loan instead of the promised "mortgage loan" when we purchased the property, and the inability to use our timeshare on 4 different occasions since purchasing it back in December, 2014. Mr. [redacted] in their customer care department sent me an email today stating that they will begin a the buy back process, however, they have not stated all the details as to what that includes or what it involves, or if they will be addressing the other concerns in regards to my credit report. I'm hoping that the process will be expedited so that I can use any monies I've already put out to Great Destination returned in order to pay for the hotel accommodations that I now need to pay for by October, 2015. This entire purchase with them has been more then stressful and not at all enjoyable like we hoped it would be when we made the purchase. My boyfriend and I were really hoping it would afford us the ability to travel more and relieve our stress instead of create additional stress in our daily lives.

Review: This company somehow got my phone number and calls me after 11pm. I live on the East Coast, and have told them that repeatedly. I have told them not to call me repeatedly. They keep calling. Today when they called, I told the woman I did not want to be contacted again, and wanted to speak to a supervisor. She told me there were no supervisors. Really? I have reported this company to the FCC and the Do Not Call Registry, as my number has been on the Do Not Call list for years. A lot of good it is doing, since they KEEP CALLING ME.I work in a [redacted] call center. There is no reason why this should keep happening.Desired Settlement: I want someone to contact me VIA EMAIL and let me know IN WRITING that I will not be contacted again. I also want a real contact number for that person that does not just lead me to voicemail, because if I am contacted again after that I need someone to report it to.

Business

Response:

Dear [redacted] I have received your complaint and apologize for the amount of calls you are receiving, obviously you have a California area code on what I assume is your cell phone so based on California Laws we are calling up to 9 PM PST which due to the fact you are located in a different time zone is causing the calls to come in 11 PM your time. The fact that your number is on the DNC list would only mean that at some point you opted in or possible entered or someone else may have signed you up for one of our promotions. However I have placed your number on our company DNC list which should stop any future calls and I also have included [redacted] who is the Director of Marketing on this email if you need to reach him. [redacted]'s email is [redacted] and phone # [redacted].

Review: I keep getting calls from Great Destination (approximately 4 or 5 within the last 6 months), and I keep telling them to remove my number from their list. They refuse to do so. They start their call with something along the lines of opening a new reservation center in Ontario and would like to offer me free airline tickets, at this point, I interrupt them and tell them I'm not interested and to remove me from their call list. They call back anyway. I recently received a call from an "unknown number" on February 10th and asked for a business identifier number, and the caller hung up. I again received a call two days later on February 12th from phone number (626) 378-0141, and again asked for a business identifier number, and the caller hung up. While the website address I provided to the Revdex.com for Great Destination is not the actual business website address, there is information on the company listed. Comments on that page include "This outfit is a pure scam, stay away and learn from experience. You do not want to get involved. In short, search for a reputable tour guide or service and save the headaches," and "Terrible travel club service. Solicited "free vacation" by telemarketing. Requested to be removed from the CALL LIST, but received a second telemarketing call 4 weeks later. The first telemarketer was very rude and disconnected the phone immediately. They state they are located in Ontario, California but would not comment on why they are calling from a New York number (917) 267-5558. They were also rude and pushy that I was not willing to sign up for their free vacation package and said "I was wasting" their time. Excuse me, but they called me as a telemarketer on MY free time. Do not ever consider doing any business with this company."

Review: Miss-leading advertising and false promotions of services offered

The presentation states benefits that are very much exaggerated, to the point that it can be perceived as a total falsehood. They are very proficient at the art of deception, carefully touching on what is fraud and what is simply suggestive. Their 45min presentation for example states that a local weekend getaway is 165$ at a 5 star hotel, and impressive pictures of these resorts to make their point. However, the reality is nothing of that sort of truth.Desired Settlement: I would be willing to settle for a refund less cost of escrow fees and etc., I feel that is a fair settlement

Business

Response:

Mr.. [redacted] I am in receipt of your complaint with the Revdex.com and take your comments very seriously. I have spent time with our owner care team and have found a number of conversations they have had with you. Our records show you were contacted by our owner care representative and informed you closed escrow on March 27,2014. at that point you were informed your Club Interval Gold number would be activated within 14-21 days from close of escrow. On April 10, 2014 your cruise certificate was mailed out as promised, which I assume you've received. Your CIG # was activated on April , 15, 2014. On April 18,2014 one of owner care representatives contacted you and informed you of your activation and also went through some short stay getaways as well as other travel opportunities etc.

At this point I am not sure why you would be requesting a refund or cancellation since we've delivered on everything we've promised. I suggest our owner care representative get back In touch with you to assist you in utilizing your ownership. We are here to help you maximize your ownership benefits. Unfortunately a cancellation and a refund is not possible since the ownership legal title has already been transferred into your name.

Our owner care contact # is 1 [redacted] , please call Monday-Friday between 9am - 5 pm and we'll be glad to help you.

Review: Miss repetition of product saying it was a time share deeded not a discount club for vacationsDesired Settlement: 299.00 deposit returned and the first payment returned 114.00

Business

Response:

Dear Mrs. [redacted]

We are in receipt of your complaint to the Revdex.com which was sent to us on January 3, 2014. I have researched your file and talked with the sales team involved and am sorry there seems to be some confusion in the product you purchased. I am confused on how you thought this was a deeded timeshare. All the paperwork signed (attached) clearly states this is a 2 year membership which gives you a one-time deposit of 30,000 Club Interval points to use anywhere within the Interval International system, based on availability. I believe during your visit a deeded timeshare plan was offered but either you declined or was unable to purchase because of issues that showed up on your credit report. We would much rather have full timeshare owners than short term members.

Since you purchased on November 11, 2013 we have already experienced expenses in membership enrollment and other marketing costs so a full refund wouldn’t be fair to us. However I am willing to cancel your membership without refund and allow you to keep the CIG benefit package without the 30,000 points. This will relieve you from any further financial commitment and still give you the ability to use all of the ancillary benefits CIG offers for 2 years.

If this is satisfactory please contact our owner care department and we will make the necessary arrangements.

Sincerely

President-CEO

Great Destinations Inc.

Review: The company was selling a product and realized I had some interest in it, however I vehemently expressed no interest if I required to obtain a loan and run a credit report. They insisted that that was not the case, that I was going to be working directing with the company with installment payments. They filled out paperwork for me without telling me what it was for, asked for my signature and I signed without realizing what it was.

They repeatedly told me that I was not getting a loan. It was not until two hours later when someone else was assisting me where he told me I had been approved for a loan. I signed the paperwork because I signed a piece of paper stating that I had seven days to exit out of every obligation. I asked [redacted] for all the documents that I signed and THAT specific piece of paper is not included in my copies of the paperwork that I signed, conveniently.

Today I discovered that there was a hard credit inquiry on my credit account and if I had KNOWN that this was done, I would have not absolutely signed ANY of the paperwork.

Yes, I did sign for the credit inquiry, however was duped to it. And had I realized that they had done a credit inquiry, I would have never signed ANY of those documents.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE business practices.

This company needs to stop doing this to people. Pushed me for four hours to get the product from them. Lied to me about the stipulations and would not accept my "no" as an answer.Desired Settlement: I want out of every obligation and remove the credit inquiry from my credit check and cancel the loan.
