Review: This company continues to call my cell phone on regular basis sometimes 3-4 times a day even after I have asked them to stop calling me.

This company began calling me early last year. I kindly told them I was not interested in what they were selling and to stop calling my phone. Since then, the company has continued to call my cell phone on a regular basis using different phone numbers each time. Today alone, they have called me twice from ###-###-####. In the middle of telling the rep to not call me again and to take me off their list, she hung up on me. I have asked this company no less than 18 times to stop calling me and to take me off their list. I am so frustrated that this company continues to call me during all hours of the day. I want the calls to stop.Desired Settlement: I want the company to stop calling me

Response:

Dear [redacted],

I have received your complaint and take this matter very seriously. The amount of calls you have received on behalf of Great Destinations is not acceptable, however when calling back the number (###-###-####) provided by you, it goes to a Target survey line. I will continue to look into this situation and in the mean time have added your phone number (###-###-####) to our company do not call list which should prevent any further calls. If you have any additional information for me or continue to receive calls from Great Destinations kindly contact my Director of Marketing [redacted] at [redacted]

Review: Great Destinations has been calling me for over 2 years now. Upon their initial call, they acquired my billing information in hopes of luring me down to their office to see their presentations and to win a free trip to Vegas. I decided against going, and think timeshares are a scam and I have asked that they do not contact me in the future. It has been over 2 years! I have tried to block the number, but I am always called from a different number. I have asked each and every caller to please not to call my number ever again and to please take my number off their call list, but I still end up hearing from them a few weeks later. I should also note that I am always called well after normal business hours, that is, usually between 7:00 - 9:00 PM. I am feeling harassed and that they will never leave me alone. Their advertising is persistent, if not aggressive. I need them to stop.Desired Settlement: I would like for Great Destinations to never contact me ever again.

I have received your request and will process immediately.

Review: On August 19 2014 we attended a time share presentation from Great Destinations, Inc in Honolulu Hawaii. In return we were promised 3 Visa "True Cash" credit cards each worth $50 for a total of $150. The sales person told us they are "as good as cash." However, we had problems at almost every single merchant we tried. We were only able to spend a little over $40. Then, the cards expired in November 4 2014 EVEN THOUGH THE EXPIRY DATE ON THE CARD SAYS November 2018!! There was nothing on the agreement restricting use at the car rental agency where we first tried to use it (and it was declined but with no reason).

We spent valuable time out of our vacation, and we deserve to have what we were promised. The merchant's response was to send us a form, which we never saw at the time of the sale and never signed. The form that I did sign said the funds would expire in 2019. This seems like a deliberate attempt to prevent the customer from using the cards. I've contacted Great Destinations, Inc several times but with no satisfaction.Desired Settlement: We want what we were promised at the time of our commitment to attend the presentation. Cash, check or replacement cards of the unused amount (little over $100) would be fine.

Response:

Mr. [redacted] I apologize for the delay in responding. Our offices were closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday. I am happy to inform you that I was able to discuss this with our provider of Visa Cards (True Cash) and they have agreed to re-load 2 new cards of $50 each valid for 90 days from date of activation. I will have those cards re-loaded and sent out as soon as I can this week. I assume the address is correct on the file with Revdex.com. If it is not please let me know correct address. I will send them FedEx with signature required since they will be live cards. Again thank you and happy holiday's [redacted]

Review: I attended a presentation by Great Destinations in January 2013. Ever since, Great Destinations has been calling me from a number of different phone calls. Other companies with whom I have never done business have also begun calling me, beginning at the same time. In addition, I get a large number of hang-up calls ever since my presentation at Great Destinations. All come from phone numbers based in the Inland Empire region. My requests, made a number of times, for no more phone calls, have gone unanswered. I hope you enjoy the FCC suit, Great Destinations!

As a sidenote, at the presentation I was confronted with high-pressure sales and a promise for free travel vouchers. Those vouchers were given to me but were impossible to use due to extremely limited dates of availability and rapid expiration.

TL;DR - telemarketing, FCC suit pending, high-pressure, misleading incentives.Desired Settlement: Stop contacting me, pay your fine to the FCC, and re-issue the useless vouchers with useable ones; those vouchers for which I wasted a day of my time and an ounce of my dignity.

Business

Response:

Mr. [redacted] I am in receipt of your complaint and need a little more information for me to be able to effectively follow up and research your comments. When and where did you attend a presentation? After a quick review of our records we don't show you attending any of our presentations in January of 2013 or at any time for that matter. If you live in Orlando Florida and we operate in California there would be no reason for us to be calling you. Please let me know so I can get to the bottom of what is going on.

Thank you

Consumer

Response:

I have accepted this response because, after speaking with you on the telephone, I am under the impression that it was not your presentation that I attended after all. I'm not sure how GD got my number, unless they all reach the same database.

However, the calls coming from Great Destinations continued after I requested they stop. I trust they're going to stop for good now. Since moving to Florida I've done my best to stay away from timeshare rental companies.

On the phone you mentioned a Yelp review. I'm not sure how the Yelp review is involved as I don't think I have used Yelp in several years.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

Review: I had some dealings with this company - "Great Destinations" - approximately 3 years ago. Approximately 2 years ago they began calling me to "pitch" their product (timeshare sales). At first I politely told them I'm not interested and take my name off their list. After several more calls, they finally stopped calling - until about 1 year ago when the calls started coming in again! They call me at least twice per month and each time I tell them to stop calling and take my name off their list. It always sounds like the same lady, but each time it's a different phone # on my caller ID. Tonight the phone # was 000-000-0000. PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP!!!!Desired Settlement: Get them to STOP CALLING ME IMMEDIATELY! If they're doing it to me, they're surely doing to others. The practice is very unprofessional. I would like to be notified when this matter has been taken care of.

Response:

Ms. [redacted], I am receipt of your complaint to the Revdex.com and apologize for any inconvenience the calls have caused. I want to make sure we address your complaint completely and quickly but am having difficulty location your number either in our system or any of our call center's. Great Destinations began operations November of 2012 so if you received calls prior to that date it wasn't not from us. I have instructed our call centers to place you on our DNC list and will insure you are on the Federal DNC list as well. If by chance your receive another call please get caller ID number which will help me track down where the call originated.

Again I apologize for any inconvenience and will do everything I can to make sure you receive no more calls from GD.

Review: Company keeps calling me late at night and mailing items. I have been on do not call list fed and state for years. I asked for them to stop calling and lady on phone used foul language and treated me and my family. She made me aware she knew where me and my family live and that I am a government offical (mayor). I would like call from company owner or ceo. I also plan to ask my chief of police to file crimnal complaint if I do not get call back, apology etc. Many complaints are online and on Revdex.com but yet Revdex.com has them at A+ they must pay Revdex.com. I will continue to persue at all local, state and federal levels until company changes and or Revdex.com does their job to help consumers. Not just take money for a good grade. That is not consumer protection. I will use all resources available until issue is resolved.Desired Settlement: Call from businees ceo or owner, apology from company and lady that made call, along with that this person does not work at company and threaten people along with other resolutions.

Business

Response:

I am and have been in direct communication with Mr. [redacted] working on a resolution, it appears the initial call was made by one of our vendors on behalf of another company as Great Destinations does not do business in Texas. I also have arranged for the vendor to directly communicate with Mr. [redacted] to clear up any misunderstanding.

Review: On May 10th I went to a presentation at the Great Destinations site in Orange, California. I was very impressed and I put a down payment of $200, with a $420 balance; in which they were going to charge my credit card on June 10, 2014. On May 22, 2014. I called the Owner Care Department to cancel. They told me I should have called earlier because it is too late to get my money back. He said I signed paperwork stating that my deposit is NOT refundable after 7 days. This was NOT discussed with me at all. In fact all the paperwork I signed wasn't discussed, I was just told where to sign. Also, on top of one of the papers (I discovered after the fact) it stated, "THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT: IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING CONTAINED HEREIN YOU SHOULD SEEK LEGAL ADVICE BEFORE SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT". This was impossible because I was told if I don't sign today, the price of the Timeshare would increase tremendously. So I paid for nothing but $200 worth of documentation.Desired Settlement: I would love to have my $200 back, because the 7 day window wasn't clearly stated. And to stop any future attempts to collect the additional $420. This was a secured credit card to rebuild my credit and now I have a $200 balance and I have nothing to show for it.

Response:

Ms. [redacted] I apologize for any inconvenience this vacation ownership transaction may have caused you. We make every effort to insure our new and existing owners fully understand all critical elements of ownership as well as all of the details of the sale. We offer a seven day right of rescission to allow new buyers the opportunity to re-assess if this ownership is for them or not. Once the rescission period has passed we begin the escrow and title search which starts the closing process. At that time we begin spending money to effectuate the close of escrow, that is the reason for liquidated damages on cancellations after the rescission period. In your case you requested to cancel 12 days after purchase which is well beyond the rescission period and well into the closing process. I am fortunate to be able to stop the process in enough time to allow a full refund of your deposit as requested and will instruct our owner care team to follow up with a refund. If you change your mind in the future we would look forward to having you join our vacationing family.

All the best.

Review: 1. Promised by phone airline tickets without blackout dates except for "major holidays" and received coupons for tickets with a 100 dollar deposit (never mentioned) that could only be used on weekdays.

2. Being bullied during a sales presentation. Examples: You are going to sit in this seat, not there any more. Only answer with a yes or no! Pay attention to me, don't look at your phone. You are not looking at me. You are talking at me and to me. You don't like me. I didn't prefer talking to your wife, I preferred talking to you (really offensive to my wife). Angry looks when we left after the 90 minute presentation.

3. When I received the original phone call, they said they were calling from "Southwest Airlines," multiple times. Fraud.

4. We were told by phone that we had to be there from 5:30 to 7:00 pm to get our gifts. As soon as we sat down, she she said, "No, I get you for 90 minutes from when we sit down"... even though we were on time and waited for her past the appointment time. It's not what we were told by phone.Desired Settlement: 1. They or their agents never contact us again except to resolve this issue.

2. A written apology to my wife for the offensive comments.

3. A written commitment that they or their agents to not act like "Southwest Airlines" again or use deceptive tactics to draw in customers.

4. Provide us with two (it should be four for the aggravation) round-trip tickets with no black out dates and no deposit required, as promised. For the aggravation and having to go through the trouble of complaining and being bullied, four tickets would make more sense to try to make up for our experience from the sales staff.

Business

Response:

Mr. [redacted] we take your comments very seriously and have begun researching the situation with the gifts that were promised as well as the behavior of our sales agent. We should be concluded by later today or tomorrow and will respond accordingly. Thank you for you time and patience.

Review: We purchased their product/service in May 2013, and was told that our Interval dues would be paid for life. My husband and I made sure to verify this information several time during the presentation. This was the deciding factor in this purchase. We have put $2,400 into this purchase, and not been able to use it. It has cost more time then was told to us, as well as, not the quality; availability; nor the exchange comparability we were promised. It was the old 'bait and switch.' I was promised one thing, and given another.Desired Settlement: Full refund, there's is no other remedy.

Business

Response:

This purchase took place over a year ago, we have attempted to contact the client several times since receiving this complaint and not until yesterday have we been able to speak with her. No where in our sales contract does it state we will pay lifetime membership however yesterday we offered to pay 5 years of membership fees or issue an additional 30,000 points to use toward clients future vacations. We are hoping to speak with client again today so we can agree on a possible resolution.

Review: I purchased a trial version of a timeshare. I informed the salesman of what I was looking for and what would work for me and my family. I was not informed of all the fees that were required beyond the purchase price. I was told that I would be getting more nights than what I am able to obtain with my purchase. Also I was not informed that on top of my monthly fees I have to pay an "exchange fee" to book the vacations. When I called to inquire I was told that I only had 7 days to cancel my purchase. I did not have any of the materials or access to the fee information until I went to book my vacation which is 6 months later. I was not allowed acees to the exchange site to veiw this information until over 4 months after my initial purchase. I was not told that it costs more to break the points up into individual nights vs 1 week. I had informed the salesman that due to my family and job I would not be able to take a full week and wanted something that was flexible and allowed me to take only a few nights at a time. This is not true I have to pay a fee of over $150 each time I book a vacation and the fee increases based on the amount of nights I wish to stay. When I contacted them to explin my dissatisfaction I was told that they were sorry it was explained incorrectly but that there is nothing that they can do to help. So I have paid $1000 and still have $600 left to pay and cannot take a vacation because I cannot afford to pay these additional fees.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of all the money that has been paid and a cancellation of the contract and all future payents to be debited.

Business

Response:

Ms. [redacted], I apologize for any confusion or mis-understanding you have with the details and terms of the membership in Club Interval Gold. During our presentation and in all of the membership documents all fees are fully disclosed. Our records indicate you purchased in December 2013, received your login information in March 2014 and the points were deposited into your account in April 2014 as agreed. On April 7, 2014 one of our owner care representatives helped you get on line and review your vacation options. Up until July 9 2014 there was never any mention of not understanding there were exchange fees associated with your chosen use. Cancellation and full refund is not an option since we already activated your membership and purchased the points that were deposited into your account, however what we will be willing to do is reimburse you for up to 3 exchange fees which will give you your vacations at no additional cost. We really want you to enjoy your time away with your family. I have copied Adam [redacted] who is in our owner care department who will follow up with you to assist. Again I apologize for any inconvenience or mis-understanding but we want to make it right.

After talking to Mr. [redacted], this would appear to be our only option. I am however not happy about having to pay upfront and wait to be reimbursed. He could not offer me a timeframe of when I would be reimbursed And I would be losing money if I decide to cancel. So we are left with no choice. Their failure to disclose important information or provide a reasonable time frame to review and cancel the agreement has left me wary of their business deals. You can't sign up for a service and give 7 days to cancel when you don't provide your customers with all the important information for 3 months later.

Regards,

Review: I attended an Open House event that was aimed at Great Destinations securing new members on 11-20-14. The salesman that presented his personal travel portfolio to me repeatedly declined my requests to be told the cost of membership. After watching a DVD showing some of the locations involved, I put $769 on my credit card which went through on 11-21-14. Now, I am being billed on my card for over $120 monthly. This monthly charge, I am now learning, was to be made for over seven years! Had I been informed of charges exceeding the $769, I would have gone home. None of the three people who spoke personally to me divulged info about monthly charges...the salesman, the company's agent, or the notary. On 1-23-15, an [redacted], returned my call. He contradicted my description of the Open House event and what had been presented to me. He was loud and rude. I have no desire to be a member of this business and want the $769 refunded.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

Along with the refund of $769, I request a letter from Great Destinations that releases me from any future connection to their company and any affiliates. My experience of threatening phone messages and bills demanding payments with added late charges must end. Their disclosure policy of not allowing their salesperson to tell clients the actual charges involved in this membership should change. Knowledge of the thousands involved should be offered upfront on request.

Review: I am being harassed by the telemarketers of this company. They call at all hours and days. I just received a call 5 pm on a Sunday and today is Mother's Day. I have asked repeatedly for them to stop calling and take my number off their list. I get calls several times a week and I don't know what else to do. It is definitely harassment and I don't know how they can get away with it. They called from this number the last time 909-200-3028. They have also text me from this number 213-835-3093, said his name was "[redacted]" from Great Destinations. Please help in getting them to stop calling me. I thought telemarketing was not allowed on cell phones?Thank you for your assistance to this matter.Sincerely,[redacted]Desired Settlement: Please have them take me off their telemarketing list. I never want to hear from this company again.

Mariam I apologize for the amount of calls you are receiving on behalf of Great Destinations. I am in the process of tracking down where the calls coming from so I can fix this problem. I have copied my Director of Marketing on this email so he is aware of this situation. His email is [redacted] and phone number is [redacted], feel free to contact him if you continue to receive calls. I am placing your phone number on our company DNC list which should stop the unwanted calls.

Review: I was called and advised we are to be given a trip for 2 flights and hotels for 2 nights and 3 days to selected destinations at no cost to us plus 2 nights hotel in addition again at no cost to us just to come and listen to a 90 minute presentation about vacations. we were qualified over the phone and were advised if we come on time to our appointment we will get a $100.00 diner card for a restaurant. We showed up on time listened to the presentation and it was pressure sales which they promised it would not be. We declined the offer they presented and they gave us the certificates. They said only 90 minutes but we stayed about 2 hours and when we got the certificate for what they promised they still tried to sell us again on what they were selling. We declined and were given the 2 certificates. The diner card is useless you have to go to specific restaurants and get a percentage of a discount off. The other trips tax and fees are involved plus so many restrictions involved that they did not mention. We were promised a vacation valued at $1,499.00 plus the hotel package. We were so disappointed when we got hone and read in In order to get the trip we have to send in $150.00 for a tax deposit and the hotel offer we would have to send taxes not exceeding $50 which could be a hotel/motel not telling us which. I asked her again on the phone if the trips had any cost she said no cost to us was involved so I agreed to come. The email that was sent to me states also that all taxes included. Please help. This company can not get a way with misleading us and others. We spend gas and time to go to woodland hills to just get frustrated and we just feel we have been cheated.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement

I would like to get what was promised to us. A trip valued at $1,499 with no additional cost to us and a 2 night stay at a hotel with no cost to us a gift card at a restaurant valued at $100.00. We did what was asked of us. They need to deliver what was promised otherwise if I knew there was any cost to us I would not have asked my husband to come and waste our time for the presentation.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We are still in the process of a resolution. They are supposed to call me back and I am waiting to hear from them.

I sent them an email of the original invite for the trip.

Response:

We are willing to pay the $150 tax on the vacation package and an additional $100 to replace the dining card do does not meet your expectations, total of $250. I am aware you already started the process of redeeming the travel certificate copies attached. I hope this is an acceptable means of resolution as I feel it is a very good resolution to this situation.

Review: These people call almost every day. I have asked them to take me off the calling list. They say they will. They never do tho. Constantly receiving calls. I ask to speak to a supervisor and they say there is no supervisor there. This has become harassment. I want to scream every time they call. I don't know how to make them stop calling. I am at my witts end. This has been going on for over a year. I just want them to stop calling. I am not interested in a time share. Please make them stop.Desired Settlement: Please make them stop harassing me.
