Guardsman did not honor the warranty

This company is fraudThey do advertisementEverything they say about coverage, it is a lieThey will find a way to not provide service all the timeI paid extra $bucks plus tax to *** for a furniture protection that ended up being from GaurdsmanWhen files a claim for a regular stainThey looked into the photos, didn't bother to send a technician, and said it is not covered! The stain is from ink and food, very recent, and on a furniture has coverage for additional yearsIt is exactly what they wrote on the initial warranty paper that is coveredBut they don't provide service to clean it or repair the furnitureThey just rub peopleI spoke with few other furniture owners covered by Gaurdsman dealing with the same issue with themLook into the reviews and complains and see for yourself how they manage their customersI am so amazed how government allow such companies to steal people's money

I purchased a year Guardsman Platinum Policy from *** years ago I just went to put in a small claim for item that got damagedBecause I claimed days after the damage, they REFUSED to honor the claimSmall print states that claim must be made within daysYes legally I am wrong, but talk about penny pinchingI don't know of any policies I've had over the many years, house, car, whatever that requires claim within daysThis is a conAvoid Guardsman as the policy is worthlessI'm sure there are a lot of other tiny clauses to avoid them ever having to pay anyone

The process to create a service request is far too inconvenientIt takes far too long and is too difficult and I know exactly why Guradsman does that, so people won't take the time to submit a service requestIt is dishonest and wrongI will never purchase a protection plan with Guardsman again

I've been using Guardsman for years since it was the furniture protection plan that was offered when we bought our couch What a mistake
This company, while friendly, is incompetent and their methods archaic In the five years we've had our couch, we've submitted four cleaning requests This is how it goes:
I have to MAIL in my claim form along with a dozen other documents Mail What decade is this?
No sooner than TWO weeks from mailing in my form do I get an email from Guardsman saying that they have processed my request and a local technician will contact me in ANOTHER week to schedule an appointment
The technician never contacts me in a week It always takes me calling and calling to finally get them to have someone call me to set up a cleaning appointment
Invariably, they want to come over during business hours when I'm at the office I have to take a day off from work because the time window they give me (hours) is so long that my whole day is wasted
Without fail, the technician shows up at the very end of the time window Never at the front or middle of the window Or the technician shows up late Or, like today, the technician doesn't show up at all!! Turns out, the dispatch office CANCELLED my appointment by mistake when it was actually another customer who wanted to cancel
I call customer service, I call the technician dispatch Dispatch goes to voicemail each time All customer service can do is call dispatch, just like I did They get no where They leave voicemails and send emails
No one can get a hold of the actual technician because they are third parties hired out by the local office Guardsman headquarters actually has no knowledge or tracking of the actual men who come to clean your couch That is neither practical, professional or safe for the homeowner who sits alone waiting for a stranger to come to her house
In the end, my couch gets cleaned ONE MONTH after I spilled my drink on the couch and after jumping through a dozen hoops, making a dozen phone calls and a dozen follcalls
Each person and technician has been friendly and as helpful as they can be within the restraints of the system It's that their system is backwards, inefficient, and beyond frustrating Do not use this company They need to get with the program Seriously

Worst protection plan ever! After waiting for more than months they call and say that it pass more than days and they can't come and clean my sofa and love seat stained with ink and that the protection plan doesn't cover lipstick stain after calling and sending twice those ridiculous forms and mailing them which it takes forever
Definitely do not recommend this protection plan

This so called Customer protection plan is a joke! their "process" is outdatedTheir customer service is horrificI have spent calculated hours on the phone between Guardsmann and *** to resolve a simple and occurring issueGuardsman received my file by certified mail on 06/7/I have all receipts, hours spent on phone, phone calls received recorded and calculated between *** *** and Guardsman) Twio weeks later a technician came out to access the situation, and while HE troubleshot my functioning motor with the non functioning motor which damaged the other side leaving me with two sectionals stuck in the open position
Technician reported and sent order in for both partsi received notice weeks later that there is nothing they would do until I Followed their outdated mail customer policy to file another claim on my functioning parts their technician BROKEAfter hours on the phone waiting, call dropped with rude service Guardsman demanded they need a specific number off the*** or they cannot help meOne Even told me if I was incapable than I better call the*** company out to help meInsinuating my incompetence! The numbed They required was later confirmed (after I phoned Guardsmans Technician that came to my home )does not
exist.bHe also tried to help my matter but was treated by his company in the same rude manner I wasAfter continued endless calls between *** *** and Guardsman and elevating my complaint Guardsman finally confirmed two repalcement parts would be sent out right away Four days later I received ONE part from the file I filed claim on but not the other they are responsible for! Technician cannot come out until I have all the parts! Further time and more calls Guardsman said they did not make an error being shipped separately??? Today receive notice the other side will not ship until approximately 8/1! My house has been on the market, had to show with*** stuck open unable to use and now have moving company coming risking further damage and cost to move the way it is!
I am the CHILD STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF A DIVORCE BETWEEN GUARDSMAN and ***!
Suffering the consequences because *** *** no longer works with Guardsman!
I have listed and sold my home AND still not resolved a simple process, a service I paid for!
The technician clearly noted and advised in his paper work
two sides needed,
non working parts no longer used, would need to replace stating the current manufacturer Guardsman currently uses, guardsman was informed parts were the same for both sides and that there was not a number on the sectional he broke but to use the same as one I reported
7/21/still not resolved my protection plan is soon to expire I believe Guardsman plan is to exhaust and delay until the customer decide it is not worth their time and they just go away!
I am not going away, and will be sure to blog and report my experience ( with sound documentation)to be sure others do not make the same mistake throwing their money away on this so called PROTECTION PLANThese are cheap and simple parts
I could have ordered online and replaced myself, paying half the price of this so called protection plan and saved plus recorded hours and aggravation of my time and effort to rendered services paid for!

I will not reccomend this company at all I contacted them with a claim after getting my new table There were scratches after the first week I followed all the procedures They sent someone out to my house He was the rudest unfriendliest person He was literally at my houe less than five minutes I finally received an email stating that they would not fix my table due to natural ware and tare I had my table a week when the claim was made Table-Pub - Gouge - Wear and tear caused by use over time is not covered under the terms of the protection plan

These are the reasons on the email I called them and they then proceeded to tell me that it is not due to over time use It was due to a manufacturer defect I would need to contact the manufacturer

Guardsman warranty was the biggest waste of money when it came time to submit a claim they do everything possible to try not to cover the issue and if you get them to cover it they do some half as repair that falls apart in a weekWhen you purchase a extended warranty that's what you should get and with guardsman it's not

Terrible company!!! Plans are a joke!! Will do anything to not repair/replace furniture!! Do NOT waste your money!!

By far just a waste of moneyThey do not fix anything that actually happens to your couch or furnitureSubmit the claim and it takes a month to get approvedOnly to find out by calling you were actually not approved for the repair because of the way I "worded" my work requestHorrible business and will never purchase their warranty again

We purchased our couches from mor, and they offered an extra five year service warranty for extra payment It has been a year since we have had our furniture and it is coming apartI have been on bedrest for weeks and reported this issue and took pictures and filled out the review for the couches They denied my request due to the way I worded it Hey guards main lady told me to resubmit and I didThey cAlled me back and told me I needed different pictures than what I sent, I told him they would be the sameHe did not help and refused to talk to meI asked for his name and he gave it to me, but when I asked for his last name , he would not give it to me His name is Glendon and was so disrespectful to his customer I then asked for his supervisor name and number, he gave me her first name, and told me their was no direct line for her, but he was able to send me to voicemAil I have never heard of anyone not having a number I have not heard back from Diane yetThis is the most difficult warranty service I have ever dealt with How can you run a business off of a picture, send the service tech out and fix it, that what we already paid for

I truly feel like this is a scamI paid for the $Gold Package on a $sectional from *** FurnitureThis was the best one I could purchase and was told it would take care of anythingWell, one year later, I jumped through ALL the Guardsman hoops and was turned downAll I was asking for was for them to patch or sow a rip and fix a few gashes in the legsThey had me submit a ton of paperwork and I was back and forth between them and between *** Furniture and after all that, I was turned downI am very concerned that they are just stealing money from well intended people who are looking to be protectedThey took advantage of me and I wish they would be held accountable

One of the absolute worst companies I've ever done business withTheir protection plan is a scam and is non-refundableThe account managers on staff are snarky and rude and just keep parroting the same lines about "read the plan" without actually taking an constructive criticismThe process to submit a service request is arduous and ultimately a complete waste of time as they will refer you to the fine print that says XYZ is not coveredYou have to get all the way through the process and snail mail them copies of everything before they will ultimately shoot you downThe furniture store that sold me the Guardsman plan has thankfully stopped doing business with them but it was too late for me

I think Valspar's Guardsman protection plan is a SCAMYou have a 30-day window to report damage which is understandable, but this is only the first firewall the company enlists to deny any claim for any reasonI submitted my claim well within the timeframe (you have to MAIL your claim to Michigan, which is surprising in 2017) and was certain the plan I paid for would cover my issue (minor seam separation on my couch)I was just informed that my claim would NOT be serviced, for reasons that were totally unrelated to the issue I reportedThe company's website is labyrinthine and unhelpfulCustomer care representatives are suspiciously busy at 9:AM on a Tuesday morningI urge my friends, family and anyone who reads this to save your money and decline ANY Valspar Guardman protection planI'm left with little evidence that this is anything but a completely unrepentant scam

This review is about the guardsmen protection planBuyer beware this is a total scamNumber one just to make a claim is the most convoluted, frustrating process created to fluster the customerThe online process of filling out the form to have a carpet cleaned or stain removed is more thorough than getting military clearance The process is created to frustrate the customer into just giving up and not filling out the form completelyYou have to take pictures and then edit and resize the pictures or else you will not be able to submit the claimIt has to fit their guidelinesIt's completely ridiculousWe're talking about a stain and dirt on the carpetTrying to get a hold of them by phone is not much easierYou'll spend time talking to one person just have to send you to another person who's going to tell you that your form was incompletely filled out They use these stall tactics and difficult claim processes so they don't have to end up coming and cleaning your carpets and furnitureIt's a total scam

Don't bother buying their protection! We were convinced by *** sales rep to get the protection plan for our sofas because it will cover against everything! Two separate issues developed with the sofas and Guardsman declines bothA decorative stich ripped on the edge of one of the middle pillows and for that they said they do not cover seam separation even though nothing is separatedThe legs chipped and they said they cover only single incident and it is not likely for the legs to be chipped from the same incident

After following all proper procedures to get my items taken care of by guardsman they continued to delay the process I submitted the information they requested receipt and photos on a timely matter then they needed a different receipt from an exchange even though the product is the same they asked this receipt is mailed rather than email or faxed, they said my local furniture store should be the one to contact them first to provide this receipt this process back and forth with the furniture store and guardsman took weeks, I end up mailing everything myself to only receive a notification stating my request is denied because of the time delay which they caused in the first place The customer service manager Sara could care less what I had to say simply repeating there is nothing she could do, that's great costumer service Sara! this is my 2nd request with guardsman and was denied the first one was because of the age of the furniture they would not cover damage due to age but if for example I had a guest damage a leg of a chair then they would do it but not now since I already had a requestThis is unacceptable

I must say this experience has been the most frustrating and lengthy process I was advised I had days to notify of the issue and had to have the info sent in within days This process of trying to get the furniture repaired was begun before Christmas I couldn't get a tech out until February
After all this time waiting, I received a call from *** I had to redirect her for her condescending tone as she proceeded to tell me what I hadn't done to meet the Guardsman requirement The issues were: the receipt stated "warranty" instead of Guardsman", I read the contract numbers in red instead of starting with the preceding "G5RF" of the contract (instead of asking me if there was anything before it she just kept telling me it wasn't a Guardsman contract) and then her last issue *** Furniture didn't have a contract at that time with Guardsman
All of these issues could have been resolved by calling ***, which I did and which was promptly resolved with the assistance of ***
At this time the bottom line is that it is taking a minimum of month and possibly up to months for the furniture to be repaired I'm thinking of NOT buying furniture from a store because the warranty is through Guardsman I was surprised to see it was high as a B rating

My husband and I bought a sectional and we were told Guardsman will cover rips or tearsAfter dealing with being on hold for hours and weeks with dealing with different representativesFinally they had a technician come out to 'fix' our sectionalHe took some pictures and told my husband and I that he can't fix the tears/rips and that they will have to replace the cushion covers and someone from Guardsman will contact meSo it was almost weeks later and I have no responseI call them and of course I'm on hold for EVERThen transferred to an account manager that tells me that according to the technicians pictures that the tears and rips that our sectional has is not considered a tear or rip under the protectionLike what? Wow unbelieveSo what is a tear or rip? This is most definitely a tear/rip! Never again purchasing againSave your money and don't purchase
