been mailed. If Mrs. [redacted] does not receive the correspondence within 7 to 10 business days we recommend she contact customer service at ###-###-####. As a result, we consider this matter resolved. We assure you that we take the concerns of our clients seriously and make every effort to resolve matters thoroughly and fairly. [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:Regards,[redacted] Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:Regards,[redacted] This response states all H&R Block policies are the same whether they are corporate offices or franchise; this is not true in reference with my case. My IRS forms (I discovered too late) were handled by a franchise office; when I visited a corporate office in [redacted], [redacted]( [redacted]) they could not help me (correct the [redacted] franchise office's mistake) without me paying the corporate office all over again. The corporate office would not change the incorrect name of my forms because I have paid a franchise office; per the [redacted] Supervisor ([redacted] female) she contacted her District Manager who stated, twice, that corporate offices do not handle, in any fashion, any dealings with franchise offices. When I called the Corportate Office number (on their website) I filed a complaint on the same issues as this complaint with Revdex.com and was told franchise offices can charge clients more than corporate offices (as well the [redacted] female Supervisor in [redacted] Office also stated I was overcharged by the franchise office for their services compared to corporate offices), I was also told the manger who oversees franchise offices would contact me within 48 hours, that was July 13 or 14, 2015 and no one has called me yet. This H&R Block response is not true, if I cannot recoup the overcharges, and if Corporate H&R Block will not enforce their policies with franchise offices the same as corporate offices, i.e. services/benefits, as they advertise in their website and on TV, then I wish to have this response available for others to warn them that H&R Block has 2 separate policies. That way the consumer can decide if they want to take such a chance with a franchise office and which offices are/are not a franchise office....I was not given such a chance.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I will wait for the response from HR Block for a refund of the services we paid for the past years i**luding the back taxes we owed as a result of their error. We are prepared to seek legal counsel to help us if HR Block refuses to reimburse our hard earned money.

I am rejecting this response because:I am unclear why I have to pay charges on my credit card due to the fact that I cannot pay back the amount in cash that H&R Block told me was my money. I would not have these credit card fees otherwise...I do not have the documentation to show what the charges will be until the IRS sends me the amount of my amended return.

Dear Revdex.com: In response to this matter, our investigation reflects that Ms. [redacted]’s complaint is against a franchise office, which has the responsibility to resolve this matter directly with your office and directly with the client. However, in response to this...
complaint, the Office Manager made contact with Ms. [redacted] in attempts to resolve this matter. During the time of the appointment, the Non Profit information was reviewed and it was determined that Ms. [redacted] had filed the correct form but incorrectly reported the amount of Program Services Income. This resulted in the IRS requesting Form 990 instead of Form 990-EZ. The Office Manager prepared the correct Form 990-EZ for Ms. [redacted] to mail to the IRS in response to the notice. Ms. [redacted] was then asked by the Office Manager if she wanted H&R Block to respond to the notice from the IRS, and that this service would result in an additional fee. Ms. [redacted] advised the Office Manager that she would respond to the IRS herself. The Office Manager attempted to contact Ms. [redacted] once she was notified by staff that she called, but had difficulties reaching her. In January 2015 Ms. [redacted] contacted the Office Manager to inform her she made errors on the 990-EZ that was prepared in the office. An appointment was scheduled for Ms. [redacted] to bring in all IRS letters she received, but later cancelled. Ms. [redacted] faxed the documents from the IRS, and it was determined that the error originated from the incorrect return Ms. [redacted] prepared herself. The Office Manager mailed Ms. [redacted] a letter explaining her findings. The address the letter was mailed to was the address on file. It is the Franchisee’s belief that a refund of tax preparation fees is not warranted in this case. We respectfully ask the Revdex.com to close this case. However, if you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. [redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block
Dear Revdex.com, In resolution to this matter, we sincerely regret any misunderstandings Ms. [redacted] may have as it relates to the term and conditions of H&R Block’s Peace of Mind® Extended Service Plan. Our records reflect that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) denied the Earned...
Income Tax Credit that was claimed on the original return. This decision was based on IRS regulations and has nothing to do with the accuracy of our client’s tax return as it is our belief the return was prepared correctly with the information provided by our client. However, as a client service gesture we are refunding Ms. [redacted]’s tax preparation fees. Ms. [redacted] can expect to receive the reimbursement checks within 3 to 5 business days. We assure you that we take the concerns of our clients seriously and make every effort to resolve matters thoroughly and fairly. Sincerely, Quintina [redacted] Associate Business Analyst H&R Block

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Forgive me for emailing my. Response but, as I have said before, I am unable to enlarge the space on my phone in order to read what needs to be done with form that is sent to me. I'm sorry to keep putting you thru this but I am once again rejecting H & R's offer of settlement. I have already contacted an attorney and went over the consequences that has occurred due to H & R's mistake. I truly don't believe that the person (s) making the decisions on H & R Blocks behalf realize the consequences of their mistakes, especially not only not sending the I.R.S. The paperwork they requested in order to expedite my refund, hence not getting desperately needed surgery but they actually LOST the documents and never even notified me. Only when I called about a month later to check on my refund did an H & R Block representative tell me that they never sent the IRS the needed paperwork but actually LOST them. How much negligence do you need ? I filed my EZ form with H & R Block on January 21, 2018 and I still have not received my refund. In the meantime,I've missed copious days of work due to being in excruciating pain, unable to have sexual intercourse, not being able to help my mother financially, who lost her husband 5 months ago along with half her monthly income, his Social security, the , and adjective escapes me to describe the mental anguish. The attorney I spoke to actually was able to list almost a dozen other consequences due to H & R Blocks negligence. I can go on and on. I can assure you of this, I've spoken to 3 of the local media stations in our area. They are very interested in doing a story on their news channels about the hell H & R Block has put me thru. At the bare minimum, I can assure you of this, my experience with H & R Block will be on the local news and with any luck, the national news. You have my sworn promise that the public will know every unbelievable and unethical part of this story. This I promise you. There is no need for H & R Block to respond to this. I'll handle all this by myself and with a little help from some friends. Regards,

The 1099r was not lose in my folder, it was stapled behind my w2 when I found my 2014 tax packet to bring in. [redacted] was having difficulties with her stapler that year and had made multiple attempts to staple the packet which can be seen by the several staple holes and half stapled staples on the outside of my copy. She had to leave the room to finally borrow someone else's stapler. When I looked in my packet for the 1099r, it fell out from behind the w2, the staple didn't catch it and fully attach it. When I called to ask about my denial with claims I was first advised Per the terms of the peace of mind contract each client is responsible for ensuring their taxes are prepared correctly before they sign off on them. This call I have recorded for the investigator to hear, play on YouTube or whoever needs to hear. My second call which is also recorded where I asked for the actual reason other than this tax issue is not covered by your peace of mind contract in writing, I was advised that the date I had my taxes done 1099's aren't usually mailed out yet. Further explanation in writing was refused. It should be noted that two days prior to the accepting tax returns being filed this year, I received a 1099 form for taxes to file this year. These recordings can be made available to anyone who needs to hear them. An attorney if necessary if you refuse this appeal as [redacted] admitted her missing filing this document and advising claims with same information yet they still deny the claim, siting my fault for not knowing she had not filed them correctly which is what the policy states it is for.

Dear Revdex.com, In response to Mr. [redacted]’s complaint, our review of this matter reflects that a state return was prepared. Our records also indicate that Mr. [redacted] declined efiling their state return. H&R Block provided a service to Mr. [redacted] which was to...
prepare a Federal And State tax return. If our client’s choose to paper file their tax return it is the client’s responsibility to mail the documents to the IRS/State. Our office has been in communication with the District Manager and concluded that at this time there are no known errors on the state return, and a refund of fees will not be issued. Also, H&R Block is not responsible for any late filing penalties. As a result, we consider this matter resolved. We respectfully ask the Revdex.com to close this case.

I am rejecting this response because: The response is not only preposterous lies, but also grossly slanerous, especially if posted. Although there was a small IRA withdrawal which I didn't recall had minimal tax responsibility, that part was never disputed. Furthermore, for H&R Block to even attempt to present such pretext and deliberate obfuscation in their very untimely response should clearly indicate to any legal minded soul that they are fully aware of their own guilt in the true matter concerning a pre-taxed legal settlement which they mishandled so unprofessional that I began getting bills from the IRS for thousands of dollars over what was actually due. As I am aware of how the corporate underworld works I do realize that all integrity is out the window when dealing with this sort, and the Revdex.com is likely neither bold, nor capable enough of any effective measure or mediation w/o themselves being subjected to corporate retaliation. Thanks for trying. God bless America.

Dear Revdex.com, In resolution to this matter, we regret any misunderstanding’s that Mr. [redacted]’s may have had as it relates to H&R Block’s Free Federal 1040EZ promotion. The Free EZ offer applied only to the Federal Form 1040EZ. If additional forms are filed such as Earned...
Income Credit (EIC), State & local tax forms, Affordable Care Act form health coverage exemptions, these forms are billed at normal rates. Our records show that additional forms were filed in addition to the 1040 Federal Form. As for any tax return completed at H&R Block by one of our tax professional’s and before the return is e-filed or manually filed, our clients are given an opportunity to review their return before signing in agreement to the preparation services provided. It is our belief a service was provided which resulted in an accurate and timely filed tax return and therefore we must deny Mr. [redacted]’s request for a tax preparation refund. If you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, [redacted] Associate Business Analyst H&R Block

This issue has not been resolved. I spoke with [redacted] and he was supposed to call me back before end of business 2/23 but I never received a response (not surprised due to their lack of professionalism)/ This case will NOT be flagged as resolved until I have received my refund.
