Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I find it quite strange that H&R Block made no attempt to contact me regarding this complaint. Seems as though they just want a quick fix. It's funny to me that they said that the reason I only am getting a portion of the money I requested in the complaint is because my taxes were indeed submitted correctly to the IRS. IF they would have contacted me they would know the ONLY reason they were indeed submitted correctly was because of ME. If I would have not caught the mistake their "tax professional" made, they would have NOT been submitted correctly. I do appreciate everything you have done for me to correct this matter. I hope this response is forwarded to H&R Block, as well!
Regards,
[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I was told would be done within 4 weeks now they are just trying to make more time. And I did ask to be removed because I am in the process of filing criminal charges. They recorded my phone calls with out my knowledge and they are  on record admitting to it.They  also have kept my money and could have returned it at any time. The district manager already said a month ago he was authorizing a refund.

Dear Revdex.com, In resolution to this complaint, the District Manager has contacted Mrs. [redacted] to further discuss this matter. Our records indicate that a Peace of Mind Extended Service claim was entered June 16, 2014 and final denied July 23,2014. Our records also indicate that...

an amended tax return was prepared June 10, 2014.  The tax return documents that Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] agreed to file and signed stated only 3 W-2’s were brought in at the time of filing their original tax return. H&R Block’s tax professionals are responsible for stapling our clients tax packets in a certain order and Mr. & Mrs. [redacted]’s packet had been altered. At this time a request to refund tax preparation fees has been denied.  As a result, we consider this matter resolved. We respectfully ask the Revdex.com to close this case. However, if you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. [redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Dear Revdex.com,In response to this matter, our investigation reflects that [redacted]'s complaint is against a franchise office which has the responsibility to resolve this matter directly with your office and directly with the client. In further review by the franchisee, it was confirmed with Mr. [redacted] that there had been no software issues found within the tax program. Per H&R Block's Refund Guarantee which states: “If you discover an H&R Block error on your return that entitles you to a larger refund (or smaller tax liability), we'll refund the tax prep fee for that return and amend the return at no additional cost. Refund claims must be made during the calendar year in which the return was prepared.” As it relates to this case Mr. [redacted] contacted the franchise office April 2015 concerning his 2013 tax return.  As a gesture of goodwill, the franchisee prepared an amended return at no cost and Mr. [redacted] was offered a discount on his return next tax season to which he has declined. Should Mr. [redacted] change his mind, the offer still stands and we recommend he contact the office directly. As a result, we consider this matter resolved. We respectfully ask the Revdex.com to close this case. However, if you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely,[redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I have not gotten full resolution. In my original complaint to Revdex.com as well as conversations with the Office Manger, I requested that both my 2013 and 2014 returns be redone by a different tax advisor. This has not happened. I also placed a message with the Client Relations Dept  asking for the contact information for the Regional Manager, [redacted], so I could discuss with him the issues I'm concerned with. This has not happened. Instead, I received a voice mail from the District Manager, the very person I wanted to speak to Regional Manager about. I don't consider this issue resolved simply because I received a refund. Money isn't everything.

Dear Revdex.com:        In response to this matter, our investigation reflects that Mrs. [redacted]’s complaint is against a franchise office, which has the responsibility to resolve this matter directly with your office and directly with the client....

However, after review of this matter records reflect that the IRS Notice which Mrs. [redacted] received was due to missing income that was not reported on the 2014, stating that 1099-MISC (Other Income) as well as 1099G (Unemployment Income) were under reported on the 2014 return.  Additionally, records reflect that Mrs. [redacted]’s IRS Notice was dated 5/16/16. It was 1/24/17 when Mrs. [redacted]’s contacted the local H&R Block office concerning the notice. Per the terms and conditions of H&R Block’s Peace of Mind contract which states in part: “Before such payment, you must: (a) notify Block of any government notice regarding such taxes within 60 days from the date of such notice (b) promptly provide Block with copies of such notices and other documents relating to or substantiating such additional taxes. Records further reflect that Mrs. [redacted] did not provide this information at the time of the tax interview. The client’s Peace of Mind claim was denied due to the following reasons: HRB not notified within 60 days, and information not available at the time of preparation. It is Franchisee, Sharon Mercer's belief that Mrs. [redacted]’s  return was prepared accurately with the information that was provided at the time of the tax interview. We assure you that we take the concerns of our clients seriously and make every effort to resolve matters thoroughly and fairly. If you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Michelle U[redacted] Associate Business Analyst H&R Block

Revdex.com:
I appreciate you accepting my request to contact HR Block with my concern. I have been in contact with [redacted]. with HR Block and she has elaborated on a method I can use to remove the unwanted allowances.Today was the first time I saw that feature. What's odd is that it's at the end of the tax filing program - which makes little sense to me. It is presented as a separate page after the program has presented your final income, expenses, credits, deductions, and tax due and you hit 'next' (presumably, to begin payment and filing).Other than the peculiar point at which these options are made available, the feature did exactly what I needed it to, which was opt out of the allowances.  It's possible this was always there, but I feel as though I've gone through the entire program several times, and I can't imaging having missed this page. Did they just add it? Perhaps. But nonetheless, it is correct now.Regarding the math error I referenced in my complaint - I simply misunderstood the IRS tax code. (Imagine that!) Let me formally apologize for accusing HR Block of making that mistake in their program. It simply was a failure on my part to grasp the Half-Year depreciation assigned to the first year. There still remains one concern from my original complaint, however it does not grossly affect my return:How can a user select a 3-, 7- or 10-year recovery rate for depreciable items? HR Block's response was simply that it's automatically calculated, but regardless of the inputs I provided, I couldn't get my preferred recovery period of 7 years. (Photography equipment is arguably 5 or 7 year). When I complete a return with Intuit's Turbotax software, it assigns 'Photo and Video Equipment' to a 7-year class. I prefer that, as it reduces the high expense of my equipment per year, allowing me to show more profit in these initial years of business. As, the IRS frowns upon companies that are unprofitable for 3 in 5 years, it is beneficial to utilize the lower expense rate of 7 years. In all, my critical concerns have been resolved. I have a number to contact [redacted]. again (in 'Tier 3' support) if I have any additional concerns.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I did receive a phone call the same day their response was filed and during that call the representative told me I would hear from them by 6/12.  To date, I have received no response.  But, I keep getting emails saying "they received my claim", which I asked them to stop sending.  Further, the person that did call did not take any time to review my prior emails or my complaint.  He had no idea what the issue was.  He clearly just wanted to 'close out the complaint with the Revdex.com.  H&R Block has know about this issue for over a year.  They have owed me at or about $5,000 for over a year. They continue to deny benefits that that I am entitled to because I purchased the "peace of mind" I purchased.

I am rejecting this response because: I NEVER spoke with [redacted] as I stated previously she left a message I returned her call the following day she was not working left message with person at her office to call me and to date she has not called me. I would NEVER let HR Blick do my taxes EVER again I had my sister in law do my 2013 taxes over due to many errors. I didn't go to another tax office so lie #1. I spoke to Shavea 7May stated can't make out bound calls and there is nothing she can do Lie#2, spoke with Yolanda on 23 April spoke to Yolanda she gave me a Case#[redacted] she stated will resolve in 3-10 business days to date NEVER contacted about status ?? Lie#3, tried to contact [redacted] office [redacted] 15 times not a return phone call ?? Lie #4, called Hr block to try to get someone to call me back I told [redacted] to record and write how many times I have tried to get ahold of [redacted] office call hrblock line another 14 times finally spoke to [redacted] she stated never even paid for my tax return I told her I have my statement for proof, and I want my file mailed to me 4weejs later I get my returns. Meanwhile I go to [redacted] worked with [redacted] he tried for Two weeks to get my returns before I received them in the mail, meanwhile I complain to hrblock again I was told No Resolution to my case [redacted], and I have another case# [redacted] to date no answer on that either?? I asked to talk to manager [redacted] in [redacted] still no call back?? I called numerous times to [redacted] in the meantime they blow me off. [redacted] was the only tax prep that helped me out at all and he stated that hrblock really screwed me up and he was sorry. Back to corporate now still to date haven't spoke to ONE person except to say that the person I needed to speak to isn't working and she would call me on Monday well not sure what Monday she meant???? I tracked all the items I needed for IRS myself no help from Hrblock at all wrongly done my tax returns totally unacceptable and unprofessional !!! I want my refund costs given back to me and a letter to IRS who already knows about hrblock failures says it's common place from hrblock to mess up and not take any responsibility and wished me "Good luck" with dealing with them he is right !!!! Revdex.com this is disgusting I thought you handle U.S. consumers instead you just pass communications back and forth? What action are you Revdex.com taking against hr block??? [redacted]
