Dear Revdex.com,In response to Ms. [redacted]’s rebuttal, records reflect that in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Peace of Mind® Extended Service Plan warranty (“Warranty”) the Warranty has been fulfilled and a full payout was granted to Ms. [redacted] in addition to penalties and interest. We refer our client to the Terms and Conditions of the Warranty which states in part: If you owe additional taxes as a result of an error in tax preparation and the error is discovered by you, your representative or a tax authority, during the period of three years from the filing deadlines for such returns, not including extensions, Block will pay you for such taxes up to a cumulative total of $5,500 for all such returns……In some cases, the correction of a specific error will involve changes on multiple returns, including state or local tax returns, which may result in an overpayment on one return and a balance due on another. In such cases, the overpayment and balance due may be netted in determining the amount Block will pay for additional taxes owed as a result of correction of the error. Block assumes no responsibility for payment of additional taxes to a tax authority. You are responsible for providing payment of additional taxes to the tax authority.It is our belief that Ms. [redacted] has been made whole in this case and that there is no further due diligence on our part in fulfilling the Warranty. I am rejecting this response because:Dear Revdex.com,Regarding the complaint referenced above made to the business that follows. I want to inform you that I HAVE NOT accepted any arrangements as non was offered by the business . All I did was accept the letter that they wrote in which they provided an 800 number . To this extent I wish to inform you that I dialed such number and I was able to obtain an email which I have attempted in 3 ocassion since yesterday without a response . Dear Revdex.com,In response to Mr. [redacted]'s rebuttal, further review determines that the rebuttal raises no new issues. Therefore, we stand by our original response dated 12/02/2014 and refer your office back to that response. Additionally, please note that it is our understanding the original return prepared by the franchised office had been e-filed but due to an issue with the client’s ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) caused the return reject. Upon discovery, the original tax return was printed and provided to the client to be mailed to the IRS as it could not be e-filed a second time. We encourage Mr. [redacted] to contact the franchised owner of this location with any further questions and our concerns he might have as it is the Franchisees belief that the return was prepared correctly and the reimbursement of fees are not warranted. authority, if we make a mistake on a tax return, subject to certain other terms and conditions.  Because Mr. [redacted] did not elect this added level of protection, he is entitled to reimbursement of interest and penalties, but H&R Block is not liable for any additional taxes assessed to our client by the IRS or other tax authority. To date, Mr. [redacted] has not supplied any notices to H&R Block. However, once Mr. [redacted] receives the notices(s), we remain committed to paying the penalties and interest assessed.  In an effort to further make amends, and as a gesture of good faith for any inconvenience, Mr. [redacted]’s  tax preparation fees have been refunded. The check will be sent on Monday, September 25, 2017. We sincerely regret Mr. [redacted]’s experience and trust this response will allow your office to close your file. I am rejecting this response because:Hello,                I was contacted by H&R block on Thursday the 3rd around 3:30 pm, as it was not an ideal time to converse and I needed to obtain my 2015 K1 from my bank, we had set up a time to speak on Monday the 7th at 10 am.  Unfortunately she was ill this past Monday but she had her office call to inform me of that and when she is back in the office we could continue resolving my complaint issues. I look forward to finishing our discussion and putting most if not all issues to rest. I had thought that I had spoken to a Coleen, but the message received from the business says I was contacted by Anacani M[redacted], perhaps I am just mistaken.  Also it is very important to note that I have had a case open with H&R's digital dept regarding my inability to verify my identity and gain access to my tax records for the past 2 years as promised by H&R block when filing my taxes, case id# [redacted]. This resulted in my being charged to to gain a copy of my 2015 taxes. These records are needed to provide my bank with specific information about how my trust possibly made a stock trade resulting in an $819 tax increase this year. This is not supposed to occur with the way this trust is set up. So having to deal with physical records has complicated and lengthened this process. The digital department never responded to my case nor have they given an eta. H&R Block's digital department has not delivered on their company's promise to provide access to ones tax records free for the past 2 years, and even after filing a case there department has not provided any response.

I am rejecting this response because:My name is [redacted] and I am contacting you about the complaint below. HR Block promised to cover penalties and fees for both state and Federal as well as 3 years of free tax software. The gentleman that was working with me never sent me his contact information and never reached out like he said he would after having the tax paperwork completed by the local office. He was supposed to contact me to find out what the fees were and the penalties that way we could resolve this issue completely. I see now that you have closed the issue as resolved, when in fact it has not been resolved. They have not reached back out as explained above and have instead wiped their hands clean of the case. I wish to have them contact me again so that I can get those fees and penalties covered as well as the information for my three free years of tax software.

Dear Revdex.com, In review of our client’s rebuttal to our prior response, we refute Mrs. [redacted] statement: “Again H&R BLOCK HAS NOT COMMUNICATED WITH US IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER”. We hope this last and final response provides further clarity of H&R Block’s position. Our district representative contacted Mr. [redacted] on September 2nd to follow up on the Revdex.com complaint as well as address any additional concerns our clients may have had as it relates to this matter. It is our understanding during that conversation Mr. [redacted] was reminded of the additional coverage and benefits offered under H&R Block’s Peace of Mind Extended Service Plan (POM) which our client’s elected on their 2015 tax return. Also during this call Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] requested assurance that H&R Block would stand behind our work should something come up later concerning their 2014 tax return. Our research has determined that Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] declined POM on their 2014 tax return and as such, the level of coverage on the 2014 return will differ than that of their 2015 return. However, H&R Block offers several other guarantees that are automatically included with every tax return we prepare and as it relates to coverage on the 2014 tax return, our Standard Guarantee would apply. Our clients can be assured that if H&R Block makes an error on your return, we’ll pay resulting penalties and interest. If you are audited, we’ll explain your IRS tax audit notice and the documentation you should provide to the auditor. We encourage Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] to notify the tax office immediately with any correspondence they may receive as a result of the preparation of either tax returns filed by H&R Block.
