Dear Revdex.com: In response to this matter, our Online Support Team has attempted to address Mrs. [redacted]’s concerns. On May 4, 2015 2 letters were sent over night via UPS mail to explain H&R Block’s position on this matter. Below is information pertaining...

to why a Calculation Claim would be approved. However, the approval of a claim would only resort in H&R Block paying penalties and interest;1. The penalty or interest must not be due to an incorrect entry of data by you or any third party (including through any automated tax data import feature). The penalty or interest must not be due to your failure to follow instructions in the Tax Program, your failure to correct and resolve errors identified by the Tax Program, a claim for an improper or unsupportable deduction, a failure to report income, your failure to provide all necessary information to Block, or any other reason outside the control of Block.2.      You notified Block at Attn: H&R Block Calculations Guarantee Claims, H&R Block Digital Tax Solutions, P.O. Box 10435, Kansas City, MO 64171-0435 within 30 days after you learned of the mistake or received a notice from any tax authority regarding your tax return. In addition, you sent Block complete documentation of the penalty and interest including all correspondence to and from each tax authority, a copy of your tax returns as filed with each tax authority, proof that you paid the penalty and/or interest, and any other relevant information Block reasonably requests.3.      You took any action reasonably requested by Block, including filing an amended tax return if necessary, to limit any further penalties and interest from accruing.4.      The penalty and interest was for a return filed before April 15, 2015, or if the filing date is properly extended, before August 15, 2015. However, if you filed your return late, Block will not pay interest from April 15, 2015 to the date you actually file your return.5.      The penalty or interest pertains only to your individual tax return and not a business return.6.      You have complied with all terms and conditions of this Agreement, including the license restrictions and you have not intentionally provided any false information in connection with your account registration or tax return.7.      You paid the applicable fee, if any, to Block for license of the Tax Program(s) and any applicable Supplemental Services at the time of the initial filing or printing of your tax return.8.      The penalty or interest must not be based upon incorrect advice you receive from Block that you knew was incorrect at the time you filed your return. We ask that the Bureau note our efforts to resolve this issue. If you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely,[redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I do not agree that the proper steps were taken to file the tax return for 2014.  The tax preparer was made aware of the property being sold prior to filing the 2014 taxes. Due to her lack of knowledge she was unaware that any further steps needed to be taken.  As for the $50 partial refund that was sent and cashed, I was unaware that the refund was from H&R Block. I live in [redacted] and the check was sent from [redacted], ** with no H&R Block logo or wording stating where it was from or what it was for.
Regards,
[redacted]

Dear Revdex.com, In resolution of this matter, the District Manager contacted Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] directly and reached a mutually acceptable resolution of a refund of $127.00, which was the cost of 3 years of city returns that were prepared with errors. As a result, we...

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. On June 14th I declined the resolution from H&R Block because they indicated to you that a check was sent on June 3rd. After 10 days and no check I didn't think it was sent. The check did arrive on June 15th via UPS Next Day Air. I found the timing very interesting to say the least. At this point I accept the resolution offered and will no longer conduct business or refer anyone to H&R Block for any service they offer. I appreciate Revdex.com and the assistance provided to resolve the claim.
Regards,
[redacted]

I have been unable to complete my taxes because I was informed that because the intial forms were reject that I could not efile again and because of that I have to do that I will have to pay the full amount for the cost of filling out of my own pocket and not out of my refund. I do not make a lot of money and to have to come up with that really hurts me

Dear Revdex.com,In response to this matter, our investigation has determined that Mr. [redacted]' complaint is against an independently owned and operated franchise office, which has the responsibility to resolve matters directly with your office and with the client.H&R Block prepares...

millions of tax returns each year, and if we do make an error, we are committed to making the situation right. It is H&R Block Franchisee, [redacted]'s belief that she has done so in this case by refunding Mr. [redacted] $25.00 for the cost paid for the Tax Identity Shield product. Check dated 4/7/17 was mailed to Mr. [redacted].As a result, we consider this matter resolved. We assure you that we take the concerns of our clients seriously and make every effort to resolve matters thoroughly and fairly. We respectfully ask the Revdex.com to close this case. However, if you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely,Jennifer S[redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Dear Revdex.com,H&R Block has reviewed Ms. [redacted]’s rebuttal to our prior response. This response contains H&R Block’s final position. In response to Ms. [redacted]’s rebuttal, our review determines the rebuttal raises no new issues with the service she was provided.  While we regret that she appears dissatisfied with her experience at H&R Block, we stand by our original response dated 03/11/2015 and we refer your office back to that response. We respectfully request that this case be closed administratively judged resolved, as we do not believe that any further response on our part would be beneficial. However, should you have additional questions or desire to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely,[redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

I am rejecting this response because:We are still waiting for the amended return that was mail to us few days ago to see what errors have been corrected and if the overwhelming charges that we are charged from IRS are eliminated in the new amended return. as for the HR Block response that they waited for me or my wife to provide documentation and that was the reason for the delay in filing our returns is not accurate. I dropped off all the documentation at the HR Block office in June of 2014, I followed up with [redacted] almost each month from [redacted] and [redacted] to see if she needed anything else from us to complete the returns. Please see the email I sent on December 5th 2014, almost six months after I dropped off all the tax information, encouraging her to expedite our tax returns. The email will show that I was trying to get [redacted] to complete our taxes, I never received return communications from [redacted] of my reminder emails to complete the tax returns or for additional information. I ended up calling her several times, and had my wife followed up as well before she responded. This hardly a 'peace of mind service from HandR block when its client has to constantly follow up for months to get the returns done, with errors and have to pay penalties and late fees. HandR block should pay for any penalties and late fees due as well as correct errors on our tax returns and return our fees we paid them. please see the email below I sent on Dec. 2014:[redacted] <[redacted][email protected]>12/5/14Reply to allto [redacted], Tazeen[redacted] - Please take a look below, I was wondering if you are done with the 2012 tax returns, I can then send you the 2013 returns as well. I know the tax season is about to start you will get real busy, so if you can expediate our tax returns I would appreciate it very much. [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com,In resolution to this matter, our records reflect that our district office has addressed matters with Ms. [redacted] directly. When visiting the office for the tax preparation appointment, the tax professional asked if the clients had brought a 1095-A form with them to...

the appointment. The clients stated that they had not recieved one. As such, the IRS rejected the return and H&R Block added the information from the 1095-A when the clients provided it, and resubmitted the return to the IRS.After further review of the 2015 tax return we firmly stand by our preparation of the tax returns as it is our belief the return was prepared correctly with the information provided at the time of appointment.  Therefore, we must respectfully decline Ms. [redacted]'s request for tax preparation reimbursement. We trust this response will allow your office to close your file. However, should you have additional questions or desire to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely,[redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Dear Revdex.com,In response to this matter, our investigation reflects that Mr. [redacted]’s complaint is against a franchise office which has the responsibility to resolve this matter directly with your office and directly with our client.H&R Block prepares millions of tax...

returns each year and if an error is made, we are committed to making the situation right. It is the Franchisee’s belief that he has done so in this case by refunding the tax preparation fees that Mr. [redacted] paid to have his taxes prepared as well as offered a discount to be applied towards the preparation of the client’s 2015 tax return, which Mr. [redacted] has declined. While we regret Mr. [redacted] appears to be dissatisfied with his experience at H&R Block, our review of this matter reflects that this situation has been addressed fully with the franchise office.  We respectfully ask the Bureau to close this case as we do not believe that any further response on our part would be beneficial. Sincerely,[redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Dear Revdex.com,H&R Block currently is engaged in litigation with [redacted]. Accordingly, we respectfully ask that you close your file on this matter, as court proceedings are underway. Respectfully,Quintina [redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The former poster in the [redacted] office window AND the H&R Block commercial (which is still viewable on [redacted]) DO NOT state that you are required to mention the promotion prior to making the appointment.  The below statement is pasted from the H&R Block commercial on [redacted].  Nothing in the offer indicates otherwise.   My husband and I met all of their requirements, and we are entitled to our refund.  Plus, I would like to offer a correction to the Analyst statement.  The H&R Block in [redacted] did NOT reach out to me.  I was the one who contacted their office.  Plus, one of their employees said over the phone "I'm surprised [redacted] didn't offer you the promotion".   Then she left a message for the other woman to call me back.  So even one of their employees knows there is no requirement to make the appointment with the promotion.   Published on Mar 1, 2015If you filed with someone else last year, you can file your tax return with H&R Block this year for HALF what you paid them. Switch to Block, get 50% off. Hurry, offer.
Revdex.com, please pursue H&R Block for the principle of sheer "honesty". You can't run a business based on deceit.
Regards,
[redacted]
