[redacted] I am still very unsatisfied how H and R block handled this situation. I feel as if I was taken advantage of . They very unprofessional and  I will take this further if I have to. Even the representative that called me yesterday was rude. Blaming the IRS not Hand R block taking my return. I realize I am only one person but I will make sure I relay all this to anyone that needs any Tax help. I will never go the ANY H and R Block and will tell everyone I can in any way I can. I have a email stating from the IRS that nothing was applied to my Federal tax debt from 2015 which I was supposed to get back 503   which again disappeared.  Just horrible business practicesThank you[redacted]

Additionally, H&R Block Fees are based on the number and complexity of the forms used and for the service that is provided.  As it relates to this situation, Mr. [redacted] visited our office on April 9, 2015 seeking tax preparation with the expectation that his fees would be half what he paid for tax preparation in the previous year, as a new client to H&R Block, per the promotion we ran from February 15, 2015 to March 15, 2015. After Mr. [redacted] expressed displeasure at the fee that he was given after tax preparation completed, we listened and did discount his return down to $280.00 as a client service gesture, as he did not qualify for the promotional price since that program had closed. We assure you that the proper office procedures were followed in this case.  In light of our above-referenced good-faith action to discount the return at the time the service was provided, we respectfully request that this case be closed by the Revdex.com. Should you have any additional questions or desire to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely,[redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and will accept the tax refund.  I find your comment about how I misunderstood the Peace of Mind unacceptable.  YOUR tax preparation specialist was the one who brought up that I should qualify for Peace of Mind, so clearly, despite boasting about her years of experience doing taxes, she does not understand her own company's Peace of Mind Policy.  The tax preparation specialist, [redacted], assured me that not only did I qualify for the Child Care tax credit, but also that I deserved the Peace of Mind reimbursement, so it is in no way my fault or misunderstanding of the policy; it is her fault and she represents H&R Block. She also promised to research more into this issue with the IRS, but every time I sought out an update, she told me that she was busy and did not speak with the IRS yet.  The only thing that she offered, which I'm sure does not coincide with H&R Block's policies, was to do my future taxes for free until it added up to the $1,200 tax credit amount that she thought I should've received.  Not only did she make the mistake of filing for a Child Care Tax credit, but a local CPA verified that she also had other mistakes on mine and my husband's 2015 taxes.  Now, I have to go back in to H&R Block to get a second look at these taxes next week.I am convinced that had I not filed with the Revdex.com, that I never would've received any correspondence or refund.  I blame this entirely on the District Manager.  He should be meeting with his tax specialists on what the Peace of Mind policy actually covers as well as customer service because [redacted], the summer office manager, was beyond rude and disrespectful.  Please know that I will also be pursuing how she handled herself when meeting with me and my husband as well. Disgusting.

This response contains H&R Block's final position.In response to Ms. [redacted]' rebuttal, our review determines the rebuttal raises no new issues with H&R Block products and services. While we regret that she appears to be dissatisfied with her experience with H&R Block, we stand by our original response dated 8/17/16.The error in late filing of Ms. [redacted]' tax return was in fact the fault of H&R Block. Because of the error we have approved a claim for the Late Filing Penalty listed on Ms. [redacted]' tax authority notice. As a courtesy, we have also refunded Ms. [redacted]' tax preparation fees of $1000 for the inconvenience this may have caused her. I am rejecting this response because: As I stated before, I agreed for them to review the [redacted] claims when I went to my local H&R office in March. I agreed all three times I visited the office. Once again, H&R Block is lying by stating that I refused for them to amend the taxes. I was contacted Saturday, May 7th and asked to come into the office, because the representative wanted me to provide her with the documents. I refused to come into the office, because I had already come in three times and provided them with the documentation. Additionally, I have yet to receive an explanation of charges. I have yet to receive documentation stating as to how I was given only a $50 refund for the H&R block error. My case is not concerning H&R reviewing or amending the [redacted] discrepancy, my case is involving my charges and refund. My case needs to stay open until the issue of charges is resolved.

As for the situation the result was satisfactory. I will NOT be using the services of H&R Block ever again so the "gift" certificate is superfluous. Instead I'd rather like the same amount on a card that would be compensation enough for the lack of professionalism and mishandling of my tax return and for waiting as long as I have for any response from said company.
