H&R Block has knowledgeable tax professionals and has several guarantees that come with the tax preparation that many other institutions or accountants do not offer. Additionally, H&R Block fees are based on the number and complexity of the forms used and for the service that is provided. As it relates to this situation, our records reflect that Ms. [redacted] had and additional forms previously not filed, which totaled $297.00. In addition, she received a discount of $201.75 in 2014, for a total difference of $498.75. It is the Franchisee, Thomas Eyestone, belief that Ms. [redacted] was not overcharged for 2015. In efforts to show appreciations to a loyal customer, the Franchisee did issue a refund of $200.00 to Ms. [redacted] and the check was sent on May 19, 2015.In light of H&R Block's above-referenced good-faith actions to resolve this matter, we respectfully request that this case be closed. Dear Revdex.com, In resolution to this matter, our records reflect that Mr. [redacted] filed his 2016 tax return via H&R Block Best of Both® product. This service allows our clients to prepare their tax return themselves, using our do-it-yourself (“DIY”) online or retail software. Our...

client’s return is then reviewed by an experienced H&R Block Tax Professional who checks for accuracy and searches for any missed deductions or credits. As it relates to this case, Mr. [redacted] received a noticed from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) indicating that the information which was reported on his Health Insurance Marketplace Statement (Form1095-A ) differed then what was claimed on his tax return. It was Mr. [redacted] belief that the form was incorrect and contacted his local H&R Block office for assistance who reached out to the IRS on his behalf and requested an extension. This was necessary to allow time for Mr. [redacted] to obtain a corrected form. The Marketplace was delayed in responding to Mr. [redacted]’s request for a corrected form and eventually sent a letter reflecting the paid premiums. This information was forwarded to the IRS on Mr. [redacted]’s behalf. It is our understanding that the IRS is now in possession of our client’s tax return as well as additional information faxed by our office. There is nothing more we can do until Mr. [redacted] obtains a corrected Form 1095-A. At this point, Mr. [redacted] has two options once he receives the corrected form, he can contact the IRS to correct the issue himself or he can return to the office for assistance however, a fee for service will apply.
