Electric heated floor systems use coils in order to reach various points throughout the area of the floor which are located beneath the initial surface of the tileIt is true they can be repaired by using the approved Suntouch XXXXXXST heating wire repair kit or other repair kits approved by the original manufacturerHandyman Matters installed a new Suntouch heated floor and thermostat which do include installation instructions as any new system wouldA Suntouch XXXXXXST LoudMouth Meter should have been used to know if further breaks in the heating coil exist during the time of repairThis device emits and audible noise informing the installer of damages or breaks in the floor systemAt this point there is probable cause to believe that the original repair work has not been fixed properly or another break in the line exists during installation*** did confirm in person that the floor worked at the time of repair before the piece of tile was laid back down*** then left the house for work, before she left the house Chad insured her that he or *** *** would call to confirm the heated floor was working after the tile was placed*** received no phone call and e-mailed *** *** letting him know that the heated floor once again did not work*** *** said he would be in touch with Chad to figure out the issue with the heated floor reassuring *** they would get to them bottom of the heated floor problemAt that time a amp breaker was connected to the electrical system proving it was not the breaker at faultTo conform to manufacturer standards a amp breaker was installed and the heated floor system is still not workingHandyman Matters stated "As the bathroom work was started by another contractor, Handyman Matters did let *** know that we would not warranty the work done in her bathroom"*** did not consent or imply any acknowledgement abiding by such statementNor did she sign any new contract claiming all warranties are voidAs per contract all work is warrantied for daysHandyman Matters did state on October 25, in writing "At this time we will no longer be returning to your home to do any more work"This is a direct violation of contract which indicates the contractor is not willing to fix damages, hire an independent contractor to correct the errors, or refund the client for all labor and used material costsHandyman Matters corporate owner physically inspected the work done by Handyman Matters South on September 29, and deemed the craftsmanship of the work including the shower and heated floor unsatisfactoryThe amount offered totaled $for an out of court settlement which the client found much below actual repair costs for all work needing to be redone or torn out completelyAt this time the client expects the work to be completed properly or a full refund givenThe previous contractor cannot be held accountable for work done by Handyman MattersIf Handyman Matters South would like to further dispute this issue the client will use small claims court to collect the refund

We stand by our work with a 100% guarantee" are the exact words on Handyman Matters South website used as an advertisement for businessAgain, "You can rest assured that all of our work is done by our master craftsmen, backed by our percent satisfaction guarantee"If the advertisement is correct then this dispute would have been concluded before the Revdex.com was notified*** is not satisfied and the heated floor does not operate as designedThere does seem to be a disconnect between the original contract which in this case is the yellow paper given to *** after each day of workIf there is another contract please attach the document for viewingWhen dealing with any type of work that involves a change order or warranty policies being altered must be signed by *** in order for a valid written contract to be put into placeWithout her written consent is likely she did not agree to the new policyIf *** signed a written contract presented to her before the job started which nullified the warranty for work performed would be curious as to why $was offered for damagesWhen the franchise office viewed the bathroom and offered a settlement would indicate that the craftsmanship is below the expected outcomeAt that point Handyman Matters is confirming and admitting upon discovery that the work performed has damaged the integrity or taken away from the value of bathroom*** did not sign any document agreeing to the settlement which was retracted by Handyman Matters corporateAs we said before $is not reasonable as labor and materials exceed more than $
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2015/11/06) */
*** *** was in charge of this entire projectHandyman Matters made several recommendations for the "CORRECT" way to do the project from the start, and in writing*** refused to do the recommended work, and instead chose to direct the project in the way she thought was rightHandyman Matters stands behind their work if they start and do 100% of the projectHandyman Matters did NOT do 100% of the projectHandyman Maters does not believe any of their work was in errorIt is also stated in writing in the very first document *** was sent that Handyman Matters would not warranty this workNo warranty was put in writing before the project even started, and again, *** acknowledged by email and phone call to start the workThe original contract was NOT the yellow copy of the invoices, but the proposal document sent to *** prior to the start of the projectIn that document it states that we would tear out the shower pan and start with a brand new pan*** choose to ignore this suggestion and instead had someone remove the tile from the original pan and asked us to reuse itAgain, reuse of old materials voids any warranty or guarantee*** chose not to follow the suggestions of Handyman Matters and directed the project how she saw fitThis voids any warranty or guarantee

*** *** *** was informed that his door needed to be replaced. It is original to the house and manufacture parts are not available any longer*** decided that he did not want the door replaced but only fix it *** did lubricate the track and at the time of
the project, the patio door was working fine and the customer was satisfied. A follow up call was made to *** asking if he wanted Handyman Matters to replace the door with a discount. *** stated the new rollers and lubrication no longer were working. There was no labor warranty on the repair as the recommendation was to replace the whole door

We had the company send someone over to fix our sliding glass door that was not sliding very easily ***the service manremoved the door and sort of cleaned the base and replaced the rollers and then put in a new lock. The company called to see if the door was fixed to our satisfaction and we told them "NO" that it was not any better They told us that they would not come out to try again unless we paid more and they would not refund our money for not fixing it in the first placeThey tried to tell us that *** said he informed us that we needed a new door - he did not tell us that The door is now worse than ever, can barely be opened and often won't lock We would at least like a refund as we definitely are not pleased with this company

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:I would hope that a Revdex.com "A" member would not keep saying to "read the fine print" The notion that there was extra work never came up--there should have been a required number of hours to do the "extra" work with an hour estimate and cost associated I never got anything besides the $earlier statement This was again a classic bait and switch--dont tell him how much thngs cost and we will just let the hours tick away I would have done the floor if I hadn't gotten bad advice fromt heir people that Hardbacker had to go down anyway so dont worry about it At this point I am going to go ahead and pay this becasue the next way they will screw me is to go to collections Their lack of concern for me as a unhappy customer speaks volumes The Revdex.com needs to take action and devalue their standing
Sincerely,

We scheduled with HandyMan Matters to do some window repair workAt the first appointment, the workman didn't want to get on the roof due to ice, which is completely understandableHowever the office person, Sandy, called and accused us of sending him away, without full information about why he wanted to reschedule
The 2nd appointment had to be rescheduled because their person was sickAgain, office person's behavior was curt and quite rude in the interactions
Seems like they think it's only their time that is valuable and not the customers
We've moved on with someone else to do the work

1/31 It is unfortunate with the manufacturer does not stand behind the product. Handyman Matters has tried to reach *** and work out a solution to ***'s problem. Handyman Matters installed the mesh fence according to manufacturer video instructions
The mesh fencing was installed with the number of poles that were shipped on July 20th 2016. The craftsman installed approximately 12' apart and the mesh was attached to the number of poles that were shipped. There was approximately 40' of mesh left over because there were not enough polesThe ground has a big slope to the topography and very rocky and hard. The sleeves that the poles were to be inserted into "mushroomed" and split because of the hard ground. The two craftsmen tried to get direction from the manufacture on the phone and it was not helpful. They were told to watch the video and that should be enough. The company is very arrogant and demeaningCurrently *** and *** of *** do not answer phone calls or emails The office called as follow up quality control in July after the installation *** gave us the highest #score and said "*** was the best. The hardest worker”. That doesn't sound like someone who was unhappy with the installation *** stated that Handyman Matters was "trained" installers or this product. What they want Handyman Matters to do was watch a video on of installation on the east coast, soft ground. Also the video was not clear on the attachment of the mesh to the poles In the video, there was instructions to cut the sleeves "to fit" if the poles did not go into the sleeves. There are various versions of videos from the manufacture and depending on which version the installer sees and none of the videos address Alpine type installs. I have tried to call *** and *** of *** and have not had success. It is frustrating to try to work the issue out, and not get a response The breed is *** *** and *** mix. She is large and is easily getting out. The wrong product was purchase for this type *** just call the office and again said that she really liked *** and he and *** did a great job based on what all four of them saw on the video. The include ***'s husband ***. She is very disappointed that *** is not returning either of their phone calls or emails. The extra 40' of mesh was because the craftsmen ran out of poles. Also it was the sleeves that were cut - not the poles. The sleeves were breaking and *** cut them as the video stated could be done if they were not fully inserted into the ground. *** and *** cut the sleeves, not the poles themselves

I had a long list of items I wanted done, primarily painting the LR, DR, halls of my ranch home I had to call to get the estimate when I had not received it days after the estimate visitI assumed that the estimate was for the entire projectThey did not tell me that they charged by the hour, that were discounts available, or that if a workman would need more time to complete the project he had to call in by 3:PM and even that would not guarentee there would be some one there the next dayWhen I was told that men would come, only one would comeBottom line I've paid out more money than the original estimate for the whole job, to have only a partial paint job and ceiling drywall repairs completedThe communication and ability to give accurate estimate are very poorThe quality of what work was done is goodWhen I spoke with Sandy the owner, I felt she was displacing the problems onto the office staff and the workmen I will not be having them complete my painting or my list of JobsI would not recommend this company to do anything

Be very aware of this company and their employees before you hire them for any project I had them perform basic repairs in my house after speaking on the phone with the company While their employee was at my house completing the work the employee bid another project and started the project soon after The tile work was done terrible which he bid When I called the company they said the employee should of never bid the project and was terminated The company did not take any responsibility of the poor work or their employee that did the job I highly encourage you to NEVER use this company for any project

I have used Handyman Matters in the past for various jobs throughout my home without any complaint or issue So it goes without question that I thought I could contact them to complete work on my bathroom for what I thought was a small leak in the wall causing mold issues in my daughters bathroom When the handyman arrived on 6/16/to begin work, we looked at what was going on and discovered the leak was not coming from the wall but from underneath the shower pan The handyman stated the job should only take days to complete I stated that would be great as I had company coming in and needed both bathrooms in my home up and working Now the problems begin! The handyman was able to demo the bathroom and let me know what products I needed to purchase, i.e- Shower enclosure, what type and size tile, grout type, etcthat would be needed to complete the bathroom I had taken the day off so was able to purchase all the items that day The handyman stated he would purchase the

From the onset of the project, the office of Handyman Matters has been in communication with ***. The phone record shows calls to and from ***, keeping her informed of the project. There were delays because of work schedule and a vacationAfter a discussion with ***, the
craftsman describing the concerns that *** has, we have refunded some of the last hours to touthe stain on the front of the TV. A refund in a total amount of $has been credited to the credit card. Handyman Matters does give proposals for larger projects. We are a time and materials company which *** knows because she has used Handyman Matters services for a few years. There was no delay in scheduling the project as the office was in communication with *** throughout. work schedule and arranging for someone to be at the house and then vacation had to be worked around. The office relies on the craftsman to keep us informed of the progress of the project, as they manage it themselves. *** does not schedule work, however does answer the telephone when there is a concerned customer. There was no complaint for the prior project. The credit card was billed at the time of the installation of the prior project. I was mistaken that the wood was to be paid for, not being informed that *** had purchased it herself. My mistake. I do apologize. The work order was kept open and on-going work was put onto the same number which caused confusion about the total being billed. Only the custom wood project was being billed with the additional labor hours. No charge was erroneously re-billed. If *** notices on the first invoice sent to her, the "credit" amount at the bottom of the invoice that shows the previous payment in October 2016. The mistake was the wood purchase that was paid for directly by ***

Our VOIP system logs every phone call that is received and calls out. The job was scheduled on 6/with ***. OUr craftsman had been there previously to complete some projects. When the craftsman discussed the work with the office, he said that he would need assistance with the
furniture construction and moving. That is when *** was call on July first on ###-###-#### to notify her to expect two people for her project. An email was also sent on July at 10:a.minforming her of two people being required for the job. On July 7th, the office again contacted *** letting her know that the craftsman will be bringing another person as it was necessary for the project. The two craftsmen arrived at her home and obtained signatures allowing both craftsmen to be on site and perform the work. A follow up call was made on July 13th, 26, and 28th to discuss the matter. The craftsman also contacted *** on Friday 29th at 4:p.m stating that he requested a helper because of the scope of work. Handyman Matters is a time and materials company. At the time of setting the appointment, I gave ***, who had used Handyman Matters previously, a range of time to complete the work. She agreed that it would take about one full day, maybe more with the additional work she had in mind. The two craftsmen finished the priority work in less time than it would have taken one man.The balance due is $445.87, which includes interest charged on the unpaid balance and legal fees.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/11/10) */
On the day the work was scheduled the craftsman arrived to the un-occupied home The craftsman check in with the office and the out-state homeowner The list of will call HOme Depot list was given to the craftsman that day Later in the
day, the office contacted the property manager, at *** *** *** *** *** All office communication by telephone and email has been logged and there has been calls to the management company, ***, and directly to the out of state homeowner
There was no wasted time The craftsman went directly to work and purchased the necessary materials The delay of the tenants was 1), The inspector hired by *** *** *** stated to our craftsman that the unit was not clean 2) the tenants themselves delayed moving into the unit
The out-of-state homeowner was given all pricing and explanation of our process before all work started The total bill is $

There were hidden obstacles from the builder that required correction before the complete job of eliminating the water leak could be accomplished. *** ok'd that up grades in the bathroom to be able to sell her home. There were repeated attempts over the past two months to contact ***. They were ignored. It is unfortunate, because Handyman Matters made every effort to come to an agreement before this escalated to this level. There are no more discounts to labor. Per the client agreement interest charged on the unpaid balance and attorney fees are chargeableIf the full amount of the invoice is not paid, then further action will need to be taken for the home improvements Handyman Matters performed at *** *** *** * *** *** ** ***
