Poor Communication Entered in a new credit card for monthly premiums, but still billed my old credit card Impossible to speak to a live person

I began my nightmare at the Massachusetts Health Connector looking for more affordable health insurance for my family after getting a new job and the insurace provided was not goodI assumed that using the Mass Health Connector would assur that I could attain good insurance for a fair priceThat id not what happennedsomehow I was put in contact with Heath Insurance Innovations, run as fast as you can away from this company, they are a brokerage company for insurance, not an insurance companyThey sell you horrible heath insurance from another company that is going to be worse than them, they blatantly lie during the sales process, and most of my families needs are not covered at allBottom line:DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM HII EVER!!!

This 'business' has taken advantage of me since the plan was purchased They are difficult to deal with as well as denials of any and all claims that were submitted, stating condition was either "pre-exisisting" or "not covered"...all at their determination...there is NO way to get claims paid

Never recieved my package of info in the mail they promised Their letter with my id card said I only had a '10-day' free look, not the same as what they verbally told me was 'days.' I tried using the dental discount plan and they could not locate my membership or tell me what prices would be After several failed attempts at canceling my service and receiving a refund through the phone games played by this company I requested my credit card company to dispute itAfter having 15mins of my time wasted by the last service rep 'Uris' at HHI who was not able to cancel my plan for me, because it is 'his job' to tell me how great the plan is despite me telling him that my business is over with your company and that I am calling to cancelThis company is a Failure and a scamThe management should be put on trial for crimes against humanity Sick to prey on people with business scheme in the healthcare industry

Worst ever!!! Keep away!!! Was told a single monthly premium by my broker who is now MIA??? Multiple withdraws taken from my account and denial for refundI was misled the withdrawals were simply for my health insurance(Whuch was useless as nothing substancial was paidWiuld be better off with self pay discountEnded up paying more than not filing insClaims) Apparently they informed me "dental " was includedI informed them I worked in dental field for 10/years and don't need dental but was assured it was included and didn't effect the premium so it didn't matterComes to find find out I have been paying extra the entire time for it and it didn't term with the health plan as explainedI was only looking for short term health and got stuck paying on dental insurance without be properly informedHII stated since I confirmed my email It was just as good as my authorization to the planHowever I never received any email or cardI am stuck high and dryThey also insisted they had no Info on the broker who signed me upHow can a company with draw money from your accounts and Handel your personal information not know where they got it from?? I feel as though I have been scammedI called twice today and the second time a women was extremely rude to me and refused to helpGave me no Info on who signed me up except for non working numbers or bogus numbers to cable companies??? Don't know where to get help.pleeeeeeease

I was mislead to believe this policy met requirements for the health care actIt in fact does notI have spent all day trying to get in touch with them to confront the misrepresentation and get a refund and am unable to connect with anyoneI feel taken advantage ofAnd don't understand how they can do this

Unfortunately while looking for a more affordable medical insurance I took a call from this company It was quite a sales pitch and one I fell for hook, line and sinker, and unlike my usual suspicious self I did not look them up on the internet before signing up They had a wonderful policy for me that would of saved me over $per month so I signed up with my sales person I signed (stupidly) a bunch of forms on-line by e-signature and did not read them My agent did give me her direct phone number, although whenever I called she "was busy on another line" so I had to leave a message that was never returned Once I printed my policy pages and read them over I realized that $of my premium was for Accidental Death & Dismemberment and also a membership in NCE membership that afforded me discounts for Sprint, ID resolution, floral discounts, gym America, vitamin discounts, car rental and car perks...and another page in plain view it states "I understand that this insurance is not considered "minimum essential coverage" under the Affordable Care Act, and that I may be subject to a tax penalty"...WHAT?? So NOW I go on-line and find out this is really a scam more than insurance coverage...***!! BUT, unlike the others on this site I did call within the days of cancellation and was given a credit back the same day so they have improved on that front, or maybe that was just my experience I find this whole health care business a scam really....good insurance costs so much and pays so little that there are those of us desperate enough to search out less expensive options and then end up with businesses out to take to your money in a sleazy way...shame on you all

Trying to get any customer service on the phone is nearly impossible. I was given a call back number after my initial enrollment and when I call the number I was given, there is a prompt to call a separate number. When I called the other number I sat on hold for 2 hours before being disconnected. I called a day later and sat on hold for over an hour before I decided to hang up. It is almost like this is a fraudulent company. Avoid avoid avoid.

I am completely disappointed. I thought I was purchasing insurance for my 21 year old daughter and they took all of my billing information and never sent my daughter or me any information regarding coverage. When I tried to contact someone about this all I got was garbled music and a repeated message that they had too many calls so continue to hold or visit the web site to log in. However, I was not able to log in because I had never been sent any log in information. I strongly recommend trying another health insurance company. I don't know which one, but definitely not Health Insurance Innovations.

Just one more to add on to the huge pile of negative complaints. This company is a scam, and the sooner they are shut down the better. They have no problem taking your money, but as soon as you realize it is a scam they become impossible to get a hold of. They will pass you from number to number (non of which are ever answered). Thank god for chargebacks.

I have been trying to contact anyone at Health Insurance Innovations. Emailed also. We want to cancel what we were talked into and it's not fitting for our insurance needs. We are within the 3 period. HELP we want our money back. Can anyone let us know what to do.

What a scam, called for my 1095 and was told that this insurance was not acceptable insurance, could not send 1095. Its really sickening that a company can get away with scamming people without insurance, who think they are getting insurance for them and their family. Channel 9 eye witness news will love this!

Worst experience ever dealing with insurance: from gathering info over a month and a half ago, to finally getting signed up 3 weeks later since they assigned me an agent and would not let me apply with anyone but him and he was always unavailable when I called; to now, still waiting to receive my policy on day 30. When I voiced my concerns to a customer service supervisor that such misrepresentation, discrepancies, and lack of response was poor customer service and is unacceptable, I was told "that is your opinion and opinions do not affect me." I politely let her know that she just proved my point - IT IS A FACT, and as a customer service agent it should concern her. I also mentioned to the department several times that they would have to forgive me if I don't believe a single word they say when they say they're telling me the truth because they have a pattern of lying to me throughout and each time I called over the past month and a half I've been told something else that proves discrepancy with another conversation. I only went with this company because, comparison, they were cheaper than Marketplace rates. I should've paid the difference because I'm paying for it through time and aggravation with this company. I left a voicemail with the director Dan G. for their underwriter concerns as they would not give me a number to directly discuss one of the concerns about my policy regarding pre-existing waiver and HIPPA.

The representatives of this company willfully and knowingly deceive their customers. I asked specific questions regarding what would be covered and what kind of policy this was only to find out upon receipt of the full policy that everything I was told is a complete lie. I was promised dental and vision coverage and received none and I asked specifically if the coverage was short term or permanent, and was told permanent with a price review every 6 months but my paperwork specifically said short term insurance that is not renewable. When I was looking to purchase insurance I had no problems talking to anyone, but now that I trying to cancel my policy I can't get anyone on the phone. I have been on hold for over an hour. Please do yourselves a favor and avoid this company like the plague.

THIS IS NOT ACA OR OBAMACARE COMPLIANT!!!! DONT LET THIS COMPANY LIE TO YOU AND REASSURE YOU LIKE THEY DID ME!!!!! 6 MONTHS IN AND NOW I AM ABSOLUTELY SCREWED AND WILL HAVE TO PAY THE $2085 PENALTY FOR MY FAMILY!!!! I'M SICK RIGHT NOW OVER THIS!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW LOW PEOPLE GO TO MAKE A DOLLAR!!!! THEY FLAT OUT LIED TO ME OVER AND OVER AND I BELIEVED THEM WHEN THEY SAID THAT I WOULD BE ACA COMPLIANT!!!!!!!!!

The prices were pretty cheap and coverage seemed fair. When I tried contacting the company for questions over my plan, they gave me very poor service. First, I got transferred over 5 times, which I didn't mind so much. When I "finally" got transferred to an insurance agent it took literally 1 hour to speak to them. Once I spoke to them, they were being rude and didn't know the answer to my question so they transferred me again. I was furious but waited on hold for another 30 minutes before I hanged up. Bottom line, they have extremely poor service and I DO NOT recommend them to anyone!

Was scammed into purchasing health insurance for residence in Rhode Island. Evaluated a coverage plan for 2017 at a cost of $54.95 plus a one-time $75.00 start-up fee. A charge of $129.95 was placed on my credit card and no informational materials were provided to my home or email addresses. Several callbacks to the numbers listed from both the first time conversation and company website listing were met with feeble attempts to explain the misunderstanding with an incorrectly spelled email address. Cancelled coverage 12/19 and disputed the charge on my card.

Extremely stressful experience as I just lost my job and do not have health insurance. Don't let these vultures scam you.

Worst experience I've ever received when looking for coverage. First not only did the representative Rick misrepresent and mislead me during the initial selling of insurance in January of 2016 but when I called several times to complain and receive a refund for my initial payments since what the rep misrepresented, the manager advised I should have taken the initiative to ask more questions so I was at fault for not having a clear understanding and no refund was eligible. Second, THIS is not company in which you can have plans like advertised but simply discounts, very poor discounts at that. After dealing with rude reps for a month and having NO COVERAGE, I cancelled my plans in Febraury only to still be charged for March and April. It is May and I still have not been completely reimbursed. It is very hard finding a affordable plan that won't scam you out of your money. Highly disappointed with Health Insurance Innovations and I feel as though they are crooks.

This company lied. They told me I was purchasing health insurance that met the requirements of the Affordable Care Act (so there wouldn't be any tax penalties at the end of the year). When I received my insurance cards, it said on the paperwork that the insurance, "...is not considered 'minimal essential coverage' under the ACA and subject to tax penalty."

I believe that the sales people were misleading about the amount of coverage, and compliance with ACA. I thought when I signed up for the policy that it complied with ACA, it did not. By the time I realized it, I could do nothing until open registration.

Cancellation of my policy was a bear. I called to cancel the policy a month ago, was disconnected from the call, and the policy was not cancelled. I called again after I realized that the policy has not been cancelled, I was on hold for most of the 25 minutes or so I was on the phone with them, transferred no less than 3 times, and had to explain everything over again (I know confidentiality requires some repeating of information, but some of the operators seemed absolutely clueless as to why I had been transferred to them). There was some pressure to get me to keep the policy as "back up insurance" even though my current policy covers everything (and more) than the policy I had through them. However, I was able to get my policy cancelled and received the confirmation email while on the phone with HII.
