Just had Julio from Hurley & David come out to check our AC. He explained the system and what he was doing in great detail. He got the system back up and running. His professionalism and courtesy were top notch! Was so pleased with his service I joined their membership plan!

Future and existing customers: please be aware of the company pricing issues. I called them to look at my central A/C which stopped producing cold air. There were no issues with setting up the appointment and the technician came just on time. The price for the visit is *** which is OK except why it has always to be *** Why not just *** It turned out that the issue was with the A/C outside unit - the run capacitor failed, a very common issue and easy to fix. Just replace the part and A/C runs fine again. The technician told me that he already replaced the capacitor and quoted *** for it. And this is just for the part, the labor (15-30 minutes very easy job) - additional *** The price for the part looked very suspicious to me and I googled the part - Turbo 200 Motor RUN Capacitor - and the price for it on Internet as between *** and *** Note: this is the most expensive capacitor as it is universal and can be configured for many applications and A/C unit types. So, the quoted price was 6 (!) times higher the market price. When I asked for less expensive, not universal part price the technician quoted me it for *** Later I found out that the market price for such capacitor (Motor Dual Run Capacitor, 60/7.5 MFD, 440VAC) is between *** and *** I understand that each company pushes its profit up to the extent possible but trying to get it to XXX-XXX% is totally outrageous. I refused to pay that much extra, ordered the part online and two days later installed it myself. The total repair cost is $30 vs quoted

Profit is necessary so that we may remain in business and continue to serve the thousands of customers who depend on us. Our technician was dispatched to your home at 1:34 PM, arrived at your home at 1:40 PM and finished at your home at 3:15PM. You agreed to have us come out for a $99 fee which included a trained technician driving a service truck stocked with parts and tools to your home and then professionally determining a solution to your lack of cooling. Once the technician presented his solution, you decided not to proceed with the solution. That is fine and that is why we tell you at each stage what your cost for that stage will be. We believe that our customers should make the decision in spending their money. You paid our $99 Service fee. Could you have made the repair yourself without our services?
