I wish I had to research and look for reviews on dealing with IKEA I ordered for the first time with them on April 4 2020 and I realized that they could be slow because of the present situation. But seriously their website had what I wanted in stock and they took my money from my *** immediately, sent me an email that day saying it was being picked out and then shipped. It's now May 15 2020 and I'm still waiting for my order I check my order through the tracking number they gave me and it still says it's being picked. Been in the same status since the day I made my order. I sent them numerous emails asking what is going on no reply to date, and it's useless to try and call because it rings a few times and then you're cut off. At this point I'm not sure if I will get my order. I was going to order more items and after this I will never order anything from them again. Their email said that my order was coming from Montreal and I'm in Northern Ontario at this point I'm wondering if it's being delivered by horse and buggy! Very disappointed since April 4 they have not communicated anything about where my order is or if I will ever receive it. I'm looking at contacting my *** company and seeing if they can get my money back. Absolutely ridiculous! *** I live in a remote area and shop online for a lot of items and this is the worst customer service I've ever dealt with.

Our records indicate that though the lead time is long, the preliminary date was the original one selected by the customer and unfortunately in the current situation, the customer will have to follow the tracking information provided. The matter has been closed on our end.

Ordered a desk April 4 received confirmation email. And nothing since. Charged my account April 6. Called 6 times. 1 hour on hold
Each time. I work I can't stay on hold all day. Chat section not available. Email. Not available after you go through all the info and hoops. No send feature. There is no communication available.
Now how do I get my money back?

I completely understand that in light of covid-19, it is not business as usual. Having said that, I am extremely frustrated with Ikea Canada right now. I ordered delivery of items at the beginning of April. The order hasn't even been packed yet. Their phones are non operational. Their chat service is down. Their email is not available. I have spent hundreds of dollars and cannot get in touch with anyone. I understand many people are also in the same boat, yet, Ikea has lots of time to work on social media.

After almost a month of paying for an order and no word about its status, I wish to cancel yet I can not as phones and chats are not enabled and email option has been removed.

I have ordered a *** closet system from Ikea, the order online option had a glitch so I had to place two orders which resulted in two different ordering deliveries. Many of my items are missing. I now need to figure out how to get a hold of Ikea. I have hired someone to install my system tomorrow. Ikea is impossible to get a hold of. I have now incurred a cost to cancel installation. I don't have my order and I cant get a hold of ikea. My advise would be to hold off with ikea orders until the store is open.

Impossible to get a hold of someone to inquire about an order. On hold for 50 min yesterday before I had to hang up. Tried to call today and was told phones are down due to technical issues. They recommend online chat but whenever the chat "bubble" appears, I get told agents are busy. So how do I find out about an order that I was supposed to get yesterday that I have been waiting six weeks for? No follow up, nothing. Then I was sent a text to ask how my customer service experience was! Hard to know when I didn't speak to anyone!

The days in the life of ordering from ikea:

Day 1: order from ikea online 405.75$ - order should arrived in 14 days

Day 15: chat with them since order isn't here. They're not sure when it will come

Day 20: chat with them again because it says my order was delivered but nothing is here. They tell me actually the system canceled my order by mistake they'll redo it but will need an other 14 days for shipping.

Day 21: I see that what I ordered is 22$ dollars off so chat with them again and they say I have to go to the store for store credits. But it can wait until covid is over so fine I'll wait.

Day 23: I'm fed up so cancel my whole order.

Day 25: I get a notification that I got a partial refund of 380.46$

Day 26-29: been trying to reach them via chat but also working so unable to reach anyone in a normal time frame so wait until I have a day off

Day30: finally a day off, after being « the 1st one in line » for over two hours they tell me that I'm missing 25.29$ because apparently they were going to send me a gift card for 22$ via mail. I told them I was still missing 3.29$ and they told me I had to pay tax on that gift card since I had canceled my order! I obviously exchanged beautiful words and they agreed to cancel my gift card and give me my full 25.29$ refund back.

I have 2 shipments pending with the tracking showing that they should have been here weeks ago.
I have called their customer service line and, like everyone else has stated, it just hangs up on me immediately.
I have tried, so many times, to try to online chat but, the bubble never shows up when I am in their site ~ no matter what time of day.
I have sent emails. I have gone on their *** page, as they suggest, and sent two messages. Neither have even been looked at.
They charged my card right away and, now, I am stuck in limbo, with zero response and, zero customer care !
I know that Covid is making things difficult and, I absolutely understand that there may be delays but, I have ordered from ***, ***, ***, and *** (I just purchased my first home) and have had everything delivered on the promised dates. Not one thing delayed out of the thousands of dollars spent on those sites.
It is ridiculous that Ikea would take my money and, after a month of trying to get responses from them, I am out my money and, have no idea when or, if, at this point, if I will ever receive my orders! If they can't keep up, as another reviewer has stated, then don't take the order. Be forthcoming and, only charge customers when the item is actually being shipped.
The tracking numbers are useless as they are still showing that my orders are expected to be delivered on dates that were first promised, and, have long since passed. No new information.
And, they charged me a lot of money for delivery. Nice...
I will not be buying from IKEA again. Ever. Worst customer service that I have ever seen!

I made a large order of kitchen cabinets to be delivered to an IKEA pick up location in my city. Once my order arrived there I received an email saying I had 7 days from the date the email was sent to pick up my order before it was sent back. I arrived at the pick up point two days before the deadline date and was told that my order was sent back to the warehouse that morning because they had an earlier date on file. They claimed to have no information on where exactly my order was sent to and how I can now get it. Stores are all closed, the customer service number does not pick up no matter how long I wait, the email support has been shut down due to covid and the chat support is supposedly over capacity at all times and I cannot gain access to it. This is over a thousand dollars of kitchen cabinets that I have paid for and am unable to get due to Ikea's mistake. The kitchen installers are scheduled to come in two days and I have no way to get my kitchen.

I ordered a desk March 28th 2020.
It is not May 7th 2020 and it hasnt arrived.

I'm disappointed in there customer service and how they are handling this covid 19 situation you cannot email them pm then on *** there phones are not working at all cannot get through you my stuff was supposed to be delivered I paid a 625 in orders and no updates been made since the day I purchased it this is crazy *** I had to contact my bank today to try and dispute my money *** your taking peoples money and not delivering

Placed an order on April 5th, credit card was charged. Now May 5th still no items, no notice of when they will be delivered and no way to email, call or chat with IKEA. Email is disabled on their site, chat windows do not open and when you manage to connect to automated phone system you are disconnected before connecting to a person. I've never experienced such terrible customer service.

. I ordered things before the covid-19, still have NO information on my order. I called them for a month straight, got no answer from customer service on any of their social media platforms - YET they still tweet daily. I was told that *** needed to come pick up the package, but according to ***, if your order label is made (which it should be if waiting for pick up), you can see it with your ikea order #. It is not complete. After being told this, I was promised by an employee that it would be out for delivery by x date, and it still has not been picked up yet.

Just to shed light on ***, I ordered something from Australia (!!!) 3 days ago, and received it today - no express shipping.***. At least be honest with your customers

We ordered 4 rugs from Ikea, April 6, 2020. The purchase was over $600 and they charged our credit card right away. The email confirmation said the items would be delivered April 18th. April 18th came and went, no delivery and no communication from Ikea. We received another email April 23rd saying the item was on it's way. When I checked the status of the item to see when it would be delivered, it still had April 18th as the expected delivery date. Ikea called our home twice when we weren't available, but did not leave a message. I tried the chat function on their website which did not work, and when you send them email there is no reply for at least a week. The past Friday May 1st we got a message from some company called *** left a message saying something would be delivered this Monday May 4th - assuming it's our Ikea order - it never actually specified and when I called the company back, I could not get a human being. This morning, Sunday May 3rd, someone from Ikea called to say they no longer delivered to our area, did not have all the items we ordered, but could partially deliver some via FedEx - WTF!??? We are so fed up we told them we did not want a partial order, but a full refund - I can't imagine how long that will take to get sorted out. There is no excuse for such poor customer service, Covid-19 pandemic or not. Most companies are able to continue to offer delivery service, albeit somewhat delayed, but still much better service than this. We are so done with Ikea!

Literally the worst experience I've ever had in customer service.***. Because of the COVID crisis in-store pickup was off the table, so I tried buying online. First of all, I have an IKEA family number but I was unable to log in because it would not accept my email or password. I tried creating a new account but said I already had an account linked to that email. Resetting my password did not work either, as I did not receive any email to reset (yes, I checked my spam). Additionally, it wouldn't let me place an order without an account.

I waited on hold on the phone and on the online chat for a grand total of approximately 6 hours spread out over 2 days trying to get a hold of help. Finally, a kind rep by the name of Janet put in an IT request for a password reset by email (which I still have not received), and helped me place a $900 order for furniture, some of which was out of stock. Unfortunately, by the end of sending her all my item codes and quantities, she discovered that there are no delivery trucks available. They are apparently unable to postdate deliveries, leaving me entirely out of luck.

IKEA furniture is the most affordable, and I was hoping to get in on some sales that may no longer exist by the time I am able to get a delivery through. Because of their inadequacy and lack of organization during this crisis, I am left self-isolating in an entirely bare apartment with only a bed. I can't even order utensils from them.

Long story short, I'm having one of the worst times of my life, and IKEA has made it 100% worse. I've never felt more let down by a company who I've been trying to give hundreds of dollars to. Very upset.

I ordered a $6000 kitchen through ikea and once it was shipped to me I soon realized that over $1000 of my items were missing. I did not receive large portions of my countertop or cover panels for my cabinets. I am now at a stand still on my renovation and am extremely frustrated. Contacting ikea for help throughout this has been a nightmare. ***. I can see many people are having the same issues. Spending hours on the phone on hold, only to be hung up on. And trying to use the online chat only gets me transferred to another representative over and over again until I get disconnected. I have spent every day for a month trying to resolve this issue with no progress.

I order IKEA kitchen on March 30th,2020. I received half of the kitchen. After 25 days I received call from IKEA representative that order for other half is cancelled because IKEA does not have capacity to deliver my order? Ikea is still accepting online order but my order is cancelled!
After that I received email from no reply IKEA : "delivery company has attempted contacting you on several occasions to schedule a delivery appointment, however, they have not heard back from you and shipping and handling costs are non-refundable "?? Where is integrity of IKEA?? I never received a call.
In addition, what I am going to do with another half of the kitchen that is now useless?

I ordered several items more than three weeks ago for delivery. They charged my card right away! 8 days ago, they called to say half the items were not in stock and the remaining items would be another 4 weeks to deliver. I cancelled the order. I still have not received my money back!
During this Covid period I have ordered from ***: ***, *** and *** ... all of whom have been honest with inventory, Don't charge your card until shipping and have delivered within as soon as 24hrs in some cases.

Placed an order for kitchen essentials as I've moved to an unfurnished place ***. Anyway, I placed the order before moving into my new place on March 30 and was told it would arrive on April 1. It didn't. When in contact with the customer service, I was told there're delays and I'd receive tracking information soon. They didn't specific the delay timeline.

Fast forward to the move day, no sign of tracking number nor an email to let me know that the delay was extended. Contacted them once again to change the address and the representative confirmed it wouldn't affect the shipping timeline. It would arrive within 10-15 business days from the purchase date.

Yesterday, April 16, I called them once again to find out that changing the address actually not only affected the delivery timeline, but made it reset.

I can't afford to be buying delivery or take away until I receive the kitchen items. If I knew it would be delayed, I wouldn't even have purchased it. Misleading to say that the estimate delivery is 1-3 days after the purchase date (I understand it's an estimate), but oh dear! It's been 13 business days and I have no information on when I'll receive the items I already paid for.

P.S.: a $19.99 shipping fee was paid and it's a joke that they won't even refund that.

After writing this review, I received my purchase shortly. Sadly, part of the order arrived damaged. I contacted IKEA and they not only refunded me for the damaged items, but also for the shipping fee. They would've sent me a replacement, but with the COVID-19 situation, things are difficult and they couldn't confirm when the order would arrive.

I also received a call from a team member in regards to this review and he was very kind and listened to my concerns.

Appreciate getting quality assistance after the disastrous 2 hours hold previous "assistance" I had.
