Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I got the same message from the business several days ago. I believe it is an automated response that triggers when it sees words like 'refund'. Because it's been several days and there has been no refund to my card. Also, I also wanted to see proof that the company really shipped the book, which based on reviews here I doubt, and they have not done that either. Just sent the auto response that also sent to you.

Review: I purchases items from this seller and was informed no charges would be placed on my credit card until my order was shipped. Seller insist that order has shipped but refuses to provide tracking number as evidence of shipment. Seller refuses to correspond with me via email and address my concerns regarding the shipment of my item. Several emails have been sent to seller who simply copies and paste a generic email in response to all questions pertaining to my order.Desired Settlement: I want my seller to honor our purchase agreement and provide me with the materials ( my course text) that they charged me for.

Regards,

Review: As I have since re-explained to the seller, I ordered the Tuttle Elementary Vietnamese that was advertised as coming with an MP3 CD. I received the correct textbook but it came with an MP3 DVD. I cannot use the DVD in my car which is the only place I plan to listen to these MP3s (and is the only reason I ordered this product). I requested that the seller send the correct product (CD not DVD) as advertised. I also offered to send the DVD back to you, if the seller also sent a return envelope with postage paid and self-addressing.

The seller replied, "Can you please send the ISBN (bar code written on the back cover of your book) of the book that you received, which will really help to us find out what went wrong with your order." Although it is unclear how that would address the issue I had raised, I replied with the ISBN.

The seller then replied, "We are sorry to inform you that We checked with the ISBN number provided by you and our system showed that we have mailed the same book as ordered by you."

The seller's website says the book comes with a CD. I ordered the book because I wanted a CD. I was sent me a book with a DVD. I can't use a DVD which is different from a CD. This is either the seller's mistake or false advertising. Either way, if I order a CD and was sent a DVD. I should not be paying more to get what was advertised and I ordered.Desired Settlement: I just want the CD. I paid for a CD and was sent a DVD. I do not want to pay more or have the inconvenience of reimbursements and going to a shipping store. If the seller would like me to send the DVD back, the seller can enclose with the CD a self-addressed packaging and prepaid shipping label. If there are other costs or inconveniences involved in getting me the order I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR, then the seller will incur those solely and upfront.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:The product that I ordered is described on the seller's website as "Elementary Vietnamese, Third Edition: Moi ban noi tieng Viet. Let's Speak Vietnamese. (MP3 Audio CD Included)." The seller sent me the book entitled "Elementary Vietnamese, Third Edition: Moi ban noi tieng Viet. Let's Speak Vietnamese" but the MP3 Audio CD was not included. This seems simple to me: "MP3 Audio CD Included" is not the same as "MP3 Audio CD Not Included" nor is it the same as "MP3 Audio DVD Included." I only paid for "MP3 Audio CD Included" but the seller sent me something that is not the same. That is not my fault, but it is the seller's fault. This is either mistaken advertising or intentionally false advertising. Again, either way it's the seller's fault. If the seller would like to avoid this cost in the future, the seller should check the product before sending it. It is not my job to make sure the seller sends the correct product.

I pay them to do that and they haven't done that this time. Now they have to pay to fix the problem that they created.

Review: This company has failed to follow their return policy on the internet. The policy states they will accept refunds up to 30 days and will refund with a 15% restocking fee. The company keeps telling me through email they can not accept my return. This was listed as a brand new book and when I received it it was not a book it was an access code. It is still

Brand new and was never used. I am looking for my refund and will pay the restocking fee of 15%.

Thank you,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like them to follow their internet return policy and refund

I am rejecting this response because:

I shipped my return on 1/27 to the address they provided and they keep stating they have not received my package. I believe this company is messing around and still not wanting to accept my return. The expected delivery date was 1/30. I have never had a problem with the postal service, they have to have my package at their facility. I want them to find my return at their facility and refund my money. This company is not satisfying their customers. Right now I am out my money and package.

Review: I ordered a book from this company a few weeks ago. This was done through Amazon. I ordered other books from other sellers on the same day and those books arrived promptly. However, the book that I ordered from this company has yet to arrive. They say that it shipped on the 27th, of Janruary 2015. It is now February the 7th and the product has not arrived. Review: Ordered book through Barnes and Noble and all tracking and customer service has been direct with Indoo.com re BN Transaction ID#: [redacted]. Company failed to deliver product in a timely manner and their "customer service" is simply a boilerplate computer generated, "shipped...will arrive in 4-14 days." Which of course never happened. I have attempted to stop payment by filing a dispute with the credit card company as well. Based on the number of on-line complaints my next stop will be the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety/ Office of Consumer Protection (OCP).Desired Settlement: Full refund of all monies billed to my credit card account.

I am rejecting this response because: They sent you the same boilerplate response they sent me twice. They are stonewalling you the same way they stonewalled me. unfortunately that appears the new "face" of faceless internet companies. I doubt the person "[redacted]" even exists. I received confirmation from my credit card company that they had stopped payment on the item. Further when I finally received Indoo's shipment (much later than their claimed due date which they again re-iterated to you) I immediately returned it unopened by USPS with a certificate of return issued by the post office. It's not your fault, it's all their trips to the bank that probably keep them from getting to their customer service....

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Review: I purchased two textbooks from INDOO through [redacted] on May 20,2013 for $459.90. I shortly found out that, for separate reasons, I didn't need the books for my classes and emailed their customer service on May 31, asking how to go about returning them when I received them in the mail. They said to allow until June 11th for them to arrive. On June 10th, they responded telling me where to send the books and that it would require a 15% restocking fee. When they arrived, I returned them the next day and waited for the refund. July 2, I emailed them asking when I should expect the refund because it had already been 2 weeks (to which they said it would take 2-3 weeks, so I waited a bit longer). I then tried to email them July 29th, as well as August 7, and they have not responded to either email. As you can tell, this was a large purchase, and I've been incredibly patient waiting for my refund, but I don't think they are taking the appropriate steps to fulfill their commitment. I also contacted [redacted] about this issue, but unfortunately, since I waited for INDOO's refund, I was outside of the time frame to file a claim with them. I ended up being "robbed" of $459 and have no books as well.

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my refund of $390.91 (that is 459.90 after 15% restocking fee) immediately.

I am rejecting this response because:

Here are the resons:

#1- I have emailed the company about my books being sent for return on Jul 2nd, at that time I asked them about refund. They did not request a tracking number at that time. They simply responded the next day that they will refund me shortly.

#2- I have tried to contact this company many times and they never notified me that the book were not received. They simply ignored my emails.

Why would Indoo.com all the sudden tell me that my books were not received?

I have saved all emails regarding the above situation if they are needed for proof.

Review: This company also goes by the name 'ALL NEW BOOKS" on amazon. I ordered the textbook "The Oxford Handbook of Crime Prevention" on 1/1/2014 from Amazon online. Order # [redacted]. However, I realized the textbook is not the correct textbook needed for the course. I sent a message on 1/06/14 and advised of their return policy. I received an automated email stating the following:

"You can return the item to the following address. You have to return it within 30 days of receipt. A 15% stocking fee is applied and the shipping charges will not be refunded for returned merchandise. Make sure to include your order details along with the package.

INDOO RETURNS

[redacted] RD

AVENEL, NJ 07001

I also went on amazon and retrieved the return label for Indoo. I sent the textbook back along with the order details and return label scanner inside the package. I sent the package on 01/17/14 through USPS to the above listed address. I also purchased a tracking number. The tracking number is : [redacted]. The package was delivered to the above address on 1/29/14 according to USPS. I sent a message to allnewbooks through amazon's email confirming that the textbook had been delivered and when should I expect my refund. I received the following message:

"We have not received your package back yet, do you have the tracking number for the package.

Please let us know if you have any questions."

I replied back to their message with the tracking number and delivery details. On 1/30/14 I received 2 messages from allnewbooks stating the following:

"We will check it and refund your account shortly.

I sent a message back advising the book was delivered on 1/29/14, and what did they mean the account would be refunded shortly? On 1/31/14 I sent a message again inquiring about the status and I received the same above automated message. I called the company's # but it went to voicemail. I sent them another message advising of my displeasure and I would contact Revdex.comDesired Settlement: I noticed in customer reviews that this company has had problems before with refunding their clients back. I am experiencing the same problem other's have had. Before they try to play games w/ me, I would like to nip it in the bud NOW. I am not confident in this company and I will NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. I think it is unprofessional to advise someone that their refund will be applied "shortly." I just want my refund back. I paid $119.94 for the book and $3.99 for shipping. However, I understand their policy states there is a 15% stocking fee and shipment fees aren't refunded. I find that very suspicious. I would like the entire $123.93 refunded. However I am aware of their policy. Therefore 15% of $119.94 is 17.99. Thus, the total credit should be $101.95. Or if they are doing the 15% stocking fee based on the entire order of $123.93, the credit should be $105.35. In conclusion, I will only accept the following refund amounts: $123.93 or higher, $119.94, $105.35, $101.95.

Review: I ordered a connect code from Indoo.com, such as connect software for a college class of mine. Well, I realize that if you have used the code that it's non-refundable, but I have not even received the package yet in the mail. It is still being shipped, and while doing so, I had been emailing customer support for the past week and they keep replying with "Sorry we can't accept your return", but on Indoo.com it states verbatim "Returns are easy with Indoo.com, just return any book within thirty days of receipt". This book cost $157, and that is a lot of money for a full-time college student. It is sad that I am having to take time out of my busy school schedule to file a complaint on a textbook company with whom people do business with all of the time.Desired Settlement: I am desiring to be refunded the amount I was charged for a textbook/connect code that I purchased.

Dear Customer,Great to hear from you.Your order was shipped on Fri Jan 23 2015 via USPS media mail. The arrival expectation is 5 to 14 business days. I am rejecting this response because: There is not one place on their site that states "we do not accept access card returns", and it is absolutely clear to them that I have not received it in the mail yet, so it is obvious the code has not been used.

Review: I ordered a textbook from the Indoo.com book selling company through Amazon.com. The textbook that I ordered was advertised as Prescott's Microbiology loose-leaf edition and that the shipping estimate would be two days. In addition to coming ten days late, the product I received was the wrong textbook. Even though the front cover of the package indicated that it was Prescott's Microbiology by Joanne Willey, when I removed the shrink wrap and front cover it was a completely different microbiology book with a wrong author and title. Immediately afterwards, I took photographs and sent them to the Indoo company where I received a response saying that an order number and ISBN were required for further assistance. Although I quickly responded with the information, they never followed up with me. This has cost me very much time and money. The textbook cost me $160 and because of the long wait, I have had trouble keeping up with my courses at college. For that reason I had to purchase the correct textbook and meanwhile, this issue is still not resolved. I'm hesitant to send the book back without a guarantee of refund. Thank you for your help in resolving this issue.Desired Settlement: Refund on purchase.

Dear Customer,

Review: I ordered this item from Indoo and never received the item. It has been over 3 weeks, since I ordered. Email has been evasive or has gone unanswered. The seller cannot provide any proof that the item was ever shipped, only stating it was shipped via USPS Media Mail on January 15th, 2014. According to the Post Office, the item should have been received within 9 days. I have requested a refund of the purchase, but no response. I am a college student and cannot afford to lose money from unscrupulous sellers like Indoo. I would like to settle this matter and receive a refund for the purchase amount.
