There is nothing in the text above that they sent that claims they will ILLEGALLY SELL MY INFORMATION TO SPAM EMAIL LISTS. Instant Checkmate is a front for email gathering so they can sell the information to scammers and spam lists...

full term is declined due to insufficient funds, Instant Checkmate reserves the right to bill in
monthly installments at the rate you selected.
You may cancel your membership, including any trial
or nonstandard membership at any time by calling our customer support line at
1-866-490-5980 between 5am - 10pm Pacific Standard Time (7 days a week) to
speak with one of our Customer Service Representatives. Any cancellation
request will cancel your upcoming bill. 
Our number one goal at Instant Checkmate is customer satisfaction. If
you are ever not satisfied with our services, feel free to call one of our
excellent customer support staff between the hours of 5am and 10pm PST (7 days
a week), or between 6am and 2pm PST on holidays, and we will work to resolve
your issue. Refunds are handled on a case by case basis with the ultimate goal
of complete customer satisfaction.
We
have no record of cancellation from Ms. [redacted]
until the call she placed on March 17, 2014. We are sorry to hear that Ms. [redacted] was not satisfied with our services. Ms. [redacted] has been honored a refund in the amount
of $118.32 ($59.16x2). Ms. [redacted]’s Instant
Checkmate account has been cancelled, and she will not incur any further
charges.

Instant Checkmate is a terrible company to try to do business with. If you have used it once, then try to use it again they will not allow this UNLESS you use a new email address. I needed a one time background check, and because I used the service over a year ago I was told I needed a different email address to use it again. When I tried to get a explanation for this the it on the customer service line kept repeating the canned sentence over and over. When I asked for a manager I was put on hold for 20 min and was again told the same canned explanation. When I said I only wanted a single background check I was asked why I needed it . I said to check on a employee and was told the checks are not reliable and should not be used under any circumstances for this purpose. What purpose does one need to get a background check ?? I will go elsewhere.
