looked into the matter and spoke with the Assistant Manager [redacted], and he said he had spoke to [redacted] and she did ask for a refund, he said that he is not able to give a refund, that he could fix her hair or comp. her haircut when she was ready for another cut. The reason he could not...

give a refund is because I don't allow any employee, but myself (owner) to do refunds for guests. I've had a lot of problems in the past with employees giving refunds. If I had known about this sooner, I would have been happy to handle this matter. My Asst. Manager had mentioned that you said your husband had called the bank and reversed the charges? I'm not sure about that, but if not, I will be happy to refund you your $14.99 back. I do apologize for you not having a good experience and a bad haircut. If you would consider coming back, I personally, will be happy to fix your hair  for you, at no charge, as well.[redacted]

Review: On October 6th 2013 I took my daughter to Fantastic Sam's in Blairsville Pa to get a perm for her birthday. She wanted a loose body wave, not close to her scalp.(This was only his 3rd week in a salon out of school. No supervision at all) He started doing the perm and I noticed he had the rods close to her head, I said she doesn't want it close. He said it would be fine that was how it needed to be done. So he finished took out the rods put her under the dryer and it was a total afro! It was huge. So they tried to cut it to calm it down. She agreed to have a few layers put in.It was awful. She went out side crying and I wanted a refund. They called their boss and she advised to relax it some. I got her to come back in. They relaxed it. She still was not happy. Ran out crying again. I refused to pay so they called the owner or boss again, not sure they didn't tell me who they talked to. So I got a hair cut they took $2.00 off my hair cut, took my daughter hair cut charge off and $10.00 off her perm. I paid $100.00 but was not happy. The next day my daughter still was not happy. I called and talked to Stephanie she said have her came down after class and they would see what they could do. My daughter went down and she seen Stephanie and Stephanie said they would look at her hair to try and fix it. Well Stephanie left she didn't even stay to see what was going on. She let another girl in the salon try to "fix" it. Well they hacked it up so bad. And they said my daughter told them to cut, she did not say that! My daughter ran out yelling and crying and said thanks for f**ing up my hair even more. So I straightened to see what it looked like. Oh my it was awful. So I filed a complaint with the corporate office. They said we were offered a $100.00 gift card to resolve the issue. All I want is a refund. So not only did they mess up her hair they lied and said my daughter left happy. She DID NOT leave happy! All I want is a refund not a gift card. I will never go to another fantastic sam's ever.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of $101.50. I will not except a gift card.

Review: I went to get my hair cut on my lunch break - this sounds silly, but I am growing my hair out to donate it and have been since that last time I donated it less than 2 years ago - and my words were, "keep as much length, but cut off the dead ends, and add a few layers." Danielle was the stylist, she showed me where she would be cutting my hair to, which was mid shoulder blade, layers from my shoulders. Well, Danielle wouldn't face me to a mirror while she was cutting and continued to style. When she asks what I thought, my hair was all one length at my shoulders and approximately 5 inches had been cut off; several more than the mid-shoulder blade level she had indicated. Since this was much shorter and layers didn't exist, I asked her to add more layers, but she said she couldn't because she would have to make it shorter. I declined because she had cut off 1 year's worth of hair growth to donate and I couldn't make it any shorter. Additionally, she wouldn't dry my hair completely, so I had to return to work so unprofessionally with sopping wet hair in the back. I called to speak with a manager and Danielle answered saying that the Manager was busy for the rest of the day and wouldn't have time to speak with me. I have contacted corporate regarding this matter and customer service issue. I have never complained to a business about a service I didn't like, especially a hair cut since it grows out, but I spoke with Danielle about how I wanted to donate it again. It will take me 1 year to grow it to the length it should have been cut to. One year is a very long time to fix one mistake.Desired Settlement: I want my hair to be fixed. It is not what I asked for, not what I asked to be corrected, and I want an apology since I can no longer donate my hair in the time frame I should have been able to.The customer service I received was absolutely terrible and knowing there was a customer issue, the manager couldn't be bothered to be on the phone to have a conversation for an entire day is unacceptable.

The hair cut was nowhere similar to the picture that I showed of the style I wanted. I was charged $64 yet $76.80 was taken out of my account. On the 29th of August I went to Fantastic Sam's on McLean Ave. I requested [redacted]. My last haircut was done by her and it was great, so I requested her on this occasion. I picked a style out of a book because I am tired of wearing my hair the same way. We decided on a foehawk. My hair in the front was past my eyes so I had enough length to make the haircut the right way. She cut the back, then she put in the highlights, afterwhich she began to cut the front. It was suppost to be long yet spikey. But she keep trying to part it on the side and lay it flat to my head, like I always wear my hair. I looked and said that it was suppost be spikey and I started to spike it. She said that it would spike better if it was a little shorter. So I let her cut it shorter. After she was finished cutting, all the highlights had been cut out(which I was paying $30 for 6 foils)and my hair was 1/2 inch long. It looked horrible. It was a typical spiked up boys haircut, that had no feminine look to it what so ever. So I payed 54 dollars for the cut and highlights, tipped [redacted] 10 dollars for a total of 64 dollars. Yet they took $76.80 off my debt card. My receipt shows that they only charged me $64, but my bank register online shows that they actually charged me $76.80. When I got home I shaved my head. My husband called Fantastic Sam's to talk to the manager, by the name of [redacted]. He explained the situation and she said that I could get a refund, but that she needed to talk to me. I went back and talked to [redacted], I explained everything that happened. She said she understood but that she can not give me a refund(when the day before she said she would) because I did not give them a chance to fix it. If there was any way that they could have I would have let them, but there wasn't enough hair on my head to cut any more, all that could be done to it was to shave it at that point. So I did at home because I didn't want them to over charge me again. Bad Haircut = No Refunds at Fantastic Sam's even when they tell you that they will give you a refund.Desired SettlementI would just like the $76.80 that I paid for the horrible haircut and highlights that were cut out of my hair. I want the total amount of money that was taken out of my account in the name of fantastic Sam's

Review: I went into Fantastic Sams to have my hair colored March 22, 2014. I wanted it blonde on top and dark brown on the bottom, however my hair turned out to be a dark yellow on top. The bottom dark brown color is fine. I paid $89.00. I was not please with the color on top. I went back on March 25, 2014 to have it fixed and the [redacted] said she was going to have to bleach my hair to get it blonde. She did not warn me of any damage that would occur. I was not charged for this service. The bleach was not on my hair for 5 minutes and my scalp started to burn. My hair was hot to the touch. I told the [redacted] and she took me over to the sink. She said my hair was steaming, smoke rolling off of it. She immediately rinsed and then added more bleach to a spot that wasn't bleached yet. After she rinsed, she dried my hair and to my surprise it was extremely blonde. As a matter of fact it was white. She said it would tone down after a couple of washings. The next day I washed my hair and when trying to dry it, I couldn't brush through my hair it was so dry and damaged. After a series of deep conditioning and applying [redacted] to my scalp for the burns the two days after I called the salon back and told the [redacted] what had happened and she said that she was not going to refund my money because it was a chemical reaction not caused by any of her products which was not true because prior to the bleaching Fantastic Sams product was in my hair. The [redacted] said that I said I had colored my hair before I came into them and I had not. The last time I had my hair professionally done was in December of 2013 and that was just a deep conditioning and a cut. I do not personally color my hair. I always go to a salon. It had been several months since I had my hair colored.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund simply because of my hair not being to my satisfaction and the poor customer service. Also would like my refund especially after spending the money to buy products to repair the damage that has been done by Fantastic Sams.

Response:

[redacted] per our conversation on 4/17/2014 I am responding to the customer complaint you recieved from [redacted]. On 03/22/2014 [redacted] was serviced by [redacted], a stylist here at Fantastic Sams. [redacted] received a two color service, blonde on top and black underneath. I was not present that day as it was my day off. On 03/25/2014 [redacted] called the salon and spoke with [redacted] saying that her hair was to gold and needed it toned. [redacted] was leaving early that day due to bad weather and that she lives far away from the salon, but [redacted] insisted she have it toned that day, so I told her that I would do it for her. When [redacted] came into the salon she said her was not at all the color she wanted she pointed to a picture that was hanging in our salon and said that was the color blonde she wanted, which the color was platnium blonde. I explaned to [redacted] that she was to dark of a shade for me to tone her to that shade of blonde and that I would have to lift her with bleach and then tone her hair to acheive platinum blonde she said that was fine. I explained to her that there was no guarntee to the results because she had previous color on the ends of her hair before coming into salon and that her root color level had been altered do to the color that [redacted] had put on. after putting the bleach on [redacted] asked me if the bleach was suppose to get hot and I said yes it was just activating, then she said that it was to hot and needed me to rinse it ,so I immediately took her to shampoo bowl and it was hot to touch and was steaming.I expressed to her that it must be a chemical reaction to an old color she had on her hair and that the ends of here hair was distressed. [redacted] said she was using professional products on her hair at home , I told her to continue with her professional products and be gentle with her hair, she was very pleased with the color and even commented that her husband would love it cause that was the color he always wanted her to be. On Friday March 28, [redacted] called me at the salon and said she was unsatisfied with her hair that it was damaged and that she wanted her money back. I told her that I was not authorized to do that and that I would call her back. After 3 phone conversations with [redacted] and her mother in-law who told me that [redacted] had burns on her scalp and that they were at the Hair cuttery the week before and that salon had same problem with bleach that we must have had a bad batch of bleach. I expressed to [redacted] mother in-law that our bleach had been used several times after [redacted] and that we had no problem with the bleach. I asked [redacted] to come into salon so I could look at her scalp and that I would be happy to do a conditioning treatment on her hair and also give her products to use at home. [redacted] declined saying she was not coming back into salon all she wanted was a refund. [redacted] was charged 45.00 dollars for her color and and additional 15.00 for designer color being 2 different colors and 16.00 for a haircut on her first visit on March 22 and her second visit on March 25 she was not charged.

Review: July13,2015 Received services for haircut ,color and style. Services were rendered, but upon leaving the hairdresser charged me an extra $10.00.I had a coupon which stated $59.95 for all the above and proceeded to question it. She stated for extra color when indicated on coupon this was for short hair. I have short hair! I paid $69.55. I have been there many times with the coupon with the same amount of hair and have never been charged extra. I have proceeded since than to contact them (4) times asking that the manager or owner to contact me to resolve this issue. It isevident no one has followed through. I am asking for the $10.00 refund.I have the receipt and another coupon showing it's offer. I will not return to this salon for services or recommend it to my family or friends. It is evident they do not care for there customers.Desired Settlement: Refund of the $10.00.

Review: Had a bad haircut and was cut on my backside of head. Brought to the managers attention and she laughed it off. Told me I just had a bald spot back there. Ask to speak to owner and never heard back from the salon owner. Been waiting two weeks and still no contact or response back from owner.Desired Settlement: I feel I should get a refund or free haircut on next visit. The hairdresser should be trained how to cut hair without messing up. The salon manager [redacted] should learn better customer service skills.

Review: I want everybody to know what is going on in that salon. It is important to say that I didnt know those women until then and the names I refer below are the names I got from [redacted], one of them. My daughter was asked to stand up to get her haircut and then to show her hands. [redacted], the haircut woman, put the cut hair in her hands. I asked for the price for my daughter and me at arrival. I was told $12.95 each. I was charged more when I paid. When I complaint I was told by [redacted] because she dried my hair and she saw how nice my haircut end-up. She didn't show me the results and I told her that and she said that she saw it and that's enough! I was so mad that I just didn't argue and paid. The dry took her less than a minute and always is included in the service. Everybody was like working against their will. At the end they charged me more than I was told. The prices are listed, but they don't respect them even though I asked in advance. When [redacted] asked me what I wanted I told her I wanted to keep the same haircut, but a little bit shorter it. She said "I don't know what you had before. You have to tell me what you want now. How many inches do you want me to cut?" The tone was not friendly in case you wonder. I noticed that [redacted] was chocking me with the paper they put around your neck. When I arrived home I realized that she was, on purpose, putting chunks of hair inside my clothes. When I got home and my back was itching - I found a lot of hair inside my back. That is vicious. [redacted] used that hair-trimmer in my neck and she was pocking me with it in several places that hurt. When I went home I had my neck all red and puffy. I had to use alcohol to make sure it didnt get infected. Another lady came for a haircut and [redacted] expressed openly bad comments about that lady in front of my daughter. While getting my haircut [redacted] was talking to her coworkers about how they "finally" got rid of another coworker and such coworker is not coming back. They were kind of celebrating.Desired Settlement: What at least I think we deserve is to get reimbursed for what I paid due to such bad service and bad experience my daughter and I had to go through, a written apology from both, [redacted] and [redacted], and, for Fantastic Sams to make sure their employees go through customer service training. Those ladies are young and maybe can learn how to deal with people and provide a decent service in the future. Thank you.

Response:

Thank you for taking the time to help me resolve this issue (complaint ID [redacted]).

I got reimbursed for the services. I didn't get any written apology from those 2 women, [redacted] and [redacted], and I was not told if Fantastic Sams is going to train better to its employees. That was important for me too since I don't want other people go through this for no reason :(

When I was told the amount I paid for the services and it was a lot less than what I really paid, the person who contacted me from Fantastic Sams discovered that also those women were stealing from the company and it is when she said that she would need to investigate deeper. They post in the computer like $10 less than what I really paid. Since I paid with credit card I was able to prove how much I paid.

The main purpose of my complaint is to make aware to the public of the bad service provided in that location of Fantastic Sams. Of course I won't go back there.

I would like to receive the written apology however I don't think that would happen.

Thank you so much for your effort. I will wait in case I get it however you can consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,
