Katapult Reviews (%countItem)

10 words isn't enough words for what I have to say . This company that took over Zippy *** .They don't care about they're customer. So I'm done with them??????????????????????????

On -Jul-2020, I placed an order with *** and I used Katapult to finance the item.I paid Katapult a first payment, in the amount of $55.69, and my contract authorized them to begin bi-weekly auto payments starting on -Jul-2020. Also, on -Jul-2020, I received an email from Katapult with a subject line: "Having trouble checking out." As far as I knew, I checked out and the order was complete.

On -Jul-2020, I received an email from *** stating my order was cancelled. I attempted to contact *** via phone and email, on -Jul-2020 regarding the issue. Unfortunately, I was on hold greater than two hours and to date, have not received a reply to my email regarding this issue.

Simultaneously [during the excessive Wayfair call wait time], I conducted an online chat with Katapult regarding this issue. I chatted with a Katapult agent named "Luz." Luz [Katapult] informed me the order remained active and instructed me to contact ***.

On -Jul-2020, I called *** again and spoke to an agent named "Helaman." Helaman verified that my order was voided/cancelled because Wayfair verification department "would not accept Katapult financing."

Also on -Jul-2020, I conducted a second chat with a Katapult agent named "Nicole." I informed Nicole of the order cancellation issue with Wayfair. Nicole informed me that Katapult still had my order [with Wayfair] as "active." I provided Nicole with a screen shot of the Wayfair cancellation email and the Katapult email requesting to help me check out. Nicole informed me that although she would request cancellation of my contract, she could not guarantee (1) when the contract Katapult cancellation would occur, (2) when the -Jul-2020 [or future payments] would be cancelled, (3) or when I would receive a refund for my first payment [in the amount of $55.69].

Highway robbery in the end. Katapult seems like a great idea when you are strapped for cash and you need to buy something urgently. In my case, I purchased a laptop and docking station to work from home during the stay at home orders in my county. I would be out of a job if I did not...and then I was furloughed and paying off in 3 months before that rental fee hits was not possible. I cringe and feel very upset when I review my contract. The cost of my purchase was $1900.The rental fees are $2600! This $1900 purchase will cost me $4400 in total once I am done with the monthly payments. That additional $2600 rental fee is absolutely ridiculous! I would recommend that you truly consider all your options before committing to a Katapult rental contract. You will have an item you will not own for a long time and it will cost you almost 2.5x the amount in the end.

On May *** I placed an order for a Samsung dryer via ***. The financing option I selected was thru Katapult financing. I was charged $45.00 that day. The Samsung dryer was never delivered. I contacted *** numerous times and they said the delivery was scheduled for June ***, never came. I called *** again and they said it was scheduled for another date in June, this went back and forth until I cancelled the order on July *** with *** and contacted Katapult that I never received the dryer and I cancelled the order with ***. Katapult advised that my contract would be cancelled and I would be refunded what I had been charged during that time as soon as *** contacted them. I was charged the original $45.00 on 5//20, $60.99 on 5//20, $60.99 on 6//20, and $60.99 on 6//20. I was advised on July *** that my auto draft had been shut off with Katapult and no further payments would occur. On July *** I received numerous calls and an email from Katapult stating that my account is past due and demanding payment. I called Katapult and was told by a rep that there was no cancellation and I need to continue to contact *** to push them to issue the return. I contacted *** and was told that the order was cancelled and it takes about 5 days for the refund. I contacted *** again on July *** and spoke with a Case manager who advised he would manually push through the return and the refund will be returned to the original form of payment. He also sent me a confirmation email of this. I called Katapult on 7//20 since I am still receiving calls that my payment is past due. The rep I spoke to said that he did see the cancellation on 7/*/20 and 7//20 from ***. I told him I never received the dryer and need the money I had paid into this refunded. He said he would contact his escalations department and they will email or call me to resolve. Today I received another email stating that my payment is past due and no email or calls regarding my refund. I just want this issue resolved, the lease cancelled, and the money I had paid for this dryer refunded since I never received the product.

I too, wish I could give them 0 stars. The item I bought ended up costing me $81.57 more, then what it should have cost. If you have the money to pay for something, do it. Don't use this place, they will rip you off. I even paid my item off, before the first payment was due. I will never use this service again.

I had a lease through this company formally known as Zibby. I paid off my loan of $20.44 and they claim I didn' *** in my checking account that this was paid off. This company is ripping people off and over charging. Was told they have a glitch in there system and it's still not fixed.

WAS ONLY CONTACTED BY THIS COMPANY BY EMAIL JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO THAT IT WAS A MISTAKE ON THEIR PART! I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE OR WON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN
Sincerely

I ordered a desktop from Lenovo and was approved to use Katapult payment plan where you pay a reasonable fee weekly. I did this so that I could have pc while the covid-19 issues are going on and apply for work from home jobs that required your own equipment that's windows based.

The purchase was made on May *** totaling 734.89. This was a pc and warranty. I had an initial payment of 45 (which there agreement states is refundable as long as the lease agrees). On my online statements from my bank I was charged 32.12 on May *** June ***, June *** and on June *** 3.64. I didn't get those job offers. In the contract it states if the item is returned within the week you will get a full refund. I emailed *** and requested a return. The email states to contact Lenovo. I contacted Lenovo they processed a return. The item was returned 6/. Lenovo has a 10 business day to process a return I waited that time out.

I went to Katapult site on 6/*** when I saw that I was charged 3.64 and I knew that the device should show that it was received but the 10 business days wasn't quite up. The person I spoke with in chat stated it was from the warranty which happen been processed as returned. I had another payment showing it was due for the *** but wasn't charged. Likely because I reached out to support. The told me to contact Lenovo. Also on Katapult site it showed I had a refund of 85.47 dated June *** which was the day after my return was received at the Lenovo site. The representative couldn't explain that amount. 32.12 times 2 is 64.24 which would have been the 2 payments not including my initial payment of 45. However I was still charged on the *** for the 3rd payment and another payment on ***.

During the contact to Lenovo this is where I found out the device was still being evaluated and it was 10 business days. I opened the calendar and said ok its a bit shy of those 10 business day. It ws June ***. 10 business days would be the *** and I was like I will give them an extra business day to get things together as I know things are slower.

I reached out again to Katapult on July *** as it was now beyond 10 business days and yet I still haven't gotten my refund. During this interaction I experienced the worst level of customer service ever. I was lied to several times in the interaction. First I was asked what was the amount of my refund. I stated I have been charged a total of 145 (32.12x3=96.36) 3.64 and 45. They stated on June *** I was issued a refund of 85.47 and to contact my bank. (1) I asked what information they had on file because I have a credit union and even when a credit has been applied to an old debit card I still got my money with in 3-5 business days. This has been a whole month later nearly (2) I was charged two days later on the *** another 32.12 and the amount they stated that was refunded didn't match up. I was put on hold several times and told to contact Lenovo.

While still on this chat I contacted Lenovo. They stated allow 24-48 hours to post the payment. I also asked for the amount of my refund the advisor stated I was being issued a full refund. I explained this to the Katapult rep and literally that whole hour chat was a lie. if Lenovo hadn't processed my return then how is it that you can say contact my bank or that I was issued any refund.

I have Lenovo chat transcripts. Katapult doesnt offer this as they are full of lies. The rep also told me I wasn't getting my. initial 45 back.

I sent an email again to *** the same day and explained everything here. I told them to respond only after the 24-48 hours because I want results.

This company is good if used as they suggest, which is to pay them item off in 3 months. If you are unsure if you can do so, find another means and company to use. They clearly state that the price will nearly double if you do not pay it off after 3 months. I have used this service more than once and know not to use it for products I cannot comfortably pay off in 3 months.

My credit is excellent but I was approved through Katapult to buy a new mattress. I was smart enough to contact them for the financing details. Talk about a complete rip off.. You only pay 5% interest the first 3 months. If your loan is not paid off by then, it goes up to 65% interest. Should me a law against this. Taking advantage of people like this is horrible, especially in these times. Of course, I didn't proceed with the loan.

Buyer Beware!!!!

I signed up with Zibby when I found myself needing to replace the tires on both my vehicles at once.

At first it seemed like a good deal, the tires were comparatively priced with a bit of upcharge for the convenience. But in the months since the pandemic it has been an absolute nightmare. They never gave any option to stop payment and resume, despite my job loss. They set up payment arrangements and fail to maintain their end. They charge accounts without notification and continually change the payment amounts on the leased items.

I do not recommend this company to anyone.... they are akin to a payday advance lender and do not care if you are out of work and struggling to get by.

I wish I could give this company 0 stars...that's what they deserve! Katapult is predatory! My credit is not shot/bad, in fact I just purchased my 1st newly built home toward the end of 2019 and I was tired of being on an inflatable mattress so I started looking for a bed/mattress. I only chose to use them b/c I wanted this special that I saw online for *** and decided to use them so that I wouldn't have to take a huge amount of my savings for the bed/mattress. I called and asked them several times the day that I was considering signing this contract to get clarity on the EPO (early purchase option.) They informed how to benefit from the EPO and what I saw in the contract. Only then, after being assured that this was correct and was what I would owe after my 6th pymt to pay it off early, did I ahead and signed the contract. I received my items and my pymts have been coming out like clockwork every 2 weeks. Yesterday marked my 6th pymt so I called them to pay the remainder that is on my contract for the EPO. They inform me that I have to pay about $400.00 in addition to what is stated on the contract and that my contract is in error/incorrect! What?!?!? This contract that I signed with Katapult and called and got confirmation for is legal and binding and I never received any other paperwork from them to correct their supposed error! I informed the representative in some not-so-nice words that I am offering to pay the amount on my contract and that I was informed repeatedly is the amount that is due for the EPO but they would not accept that and kept informing me that my contract had an error on it and that the correct amount is in their system! I could care less what is in their system! I signed a legal document, haven't missed one pymt and will if needed take them to court! They got the right one this time! I am about to contact an Atorney as well as *** and inform them of everything and then I plan to pay the remainder of the EPO amount and inform my bank to block any other withdrawals that they try and make from my account! I am not going to do pay anything other than what is listed on this contract! It is NOT ok what they are doing to people! I wish that I would have read these reviews before I went with them! I HATE Predatory loan companies! I may go to the news with this b/c something needs to be done! Companies don't like when you blast their dirty deeds for everyone to know, guess what...I don't like being duped by some company that thinks I'm an it! Especially after I was informed and reassured by your employee that all that I would need to pay after the 6th pymt to benefit from the EPO is the amount of $230.07 not $630+. Please get your contracts together b/c I didn't create the contract that is legal and binding Katapult did, ALL I DID WAS SIGN IT and now they want to say that THEIR CONTRACT has an ERROR on it! Straight !!!!

On June I ordered a product from Wayfair that was on sale. On Wayfair‘a end they places the order then canceled it so I had to call the next day and speak to someone. The item had gone back to the original price so the Wayfair Representative guided me on placing my order with sale price which I have the invoice for. I get and email from Katapult charging me the original price so I call Wayfair who tells me it will adjust in a few days so I waited. I called Katapult and get told they have received nothing from Wayfair in regards to correcting the price from 359.99 to 240.87 again I have an invoice that confirms this. I call Wayfair and the wait times are up to 2 hours so this is really inconvenient to keep doing and they tell me again that the finance team has someone working on it and to call Katapult in a few days. I call Katapult and the woman tells me on the other end that they have a $3.56 discount on file for me and that’s all! The rep tells me Wayfair is being dishonest with me and I should have their Representative call a Katapult Representative on a three way call so I can hear who is really trying to fix this situation out of the two of the companies. So I call Wayfair AGAIN and now we are reaching a month since the order and they tell me Wayfair has the account a settled on their end but I log into Katapult and I call only to be told nothing has changed on the account. I feel like it was a bate and switch on both their ends. I have an invoice as proof.

Sincerely

I’ve paid off the amount it says I need to pay in order to buy out my lease but my account still says I need to make last weeks payment in order to be done with the lease. Customer service is absolutely horrible. Had 2 different representatives and over and hour and a half later they can’t answer my question. 1 tried to tell me I owe over $600 even though my account said otherwise. And the other just said he’s sending it to special claims after wasting my time for a half hour.

This company was awful. I have only used them once and will never use them again. I had a problem with my account and called and emailed multiple times, with no help. It was very discouraging. This is not a company I would ever use again.

This company is absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. The first issue that occurred was when an associate made an error and we got charged twice. They at least addressed that issue quickly. Then during COVID-19 we were told we wouldn't get penalized for missing a payment, that it would go to the end of the loan and if we could pay it before the loan was over there would be no penalties. Apparently that was the wrong information so the 1 payment we missed that was supposed to be documented with zero penalties became a late payment, When I spoke to a supervisor after being on the phone for over an hour trying to sort out their screw up, he acknowledged the error on their end but said "they can't change it in the system" and "it's always going to show as a late payment". So they don't fix their screw ups and it still reflects on you and ends up costing you more money and aggravation. Then they took out multiple payments again without my CONSENT!!!!!!!!! The payment agreement is every 2 weeks and they took out last week and today. When I called today, I was told they were sorry but there is nothing they can do on their end! This company is awful. I would not recommend dealing with Katapult at all. If I could give it zero stars I would. If you value your money, I would look elsewhere because they don't care when they screw up and take out multiple payments and do not rectify it. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

Their billing system does suck and their online chat customer service also ***. But I've done several leases with them and haven't had any of the problems listed. I do always pay off in the 90 days. If you have to go longer than that, know that, just like every other short term lease company, the ownership cost is much higher than the cash price. This isn't any different than a *** or other similar company. If you don't want to use actual credit or don't have the credit then you have to go without, pay off in 90 days, or pay the high interest. It's not a secret.
The only reason I give them 3 stars is because the online customer service truly ***. Nearly every time I've spent inordinate amounts of time online then call and get more concrete answers. Their payments section is not clear and straightforward... returns are a disaster... If you don't do autopay and you pay before the due date, their system makes it look like your payment hasn't been credited until a day or two after it's due (which may make you anxious that you're going to be charged a late charge since the payment doesn't show as posted until after the due date.
My advice - only use it for very short term purchases. If you want to save cash flow for a couple weeks but will have the money to pay in full in less than the 90 days, go for it. Otherwise you're over extending yourself.

Payment arrangements set up and have drafted my account WITHOUT MY CONSENT!!!!!

This company changed their name from Zibby to Katapult. I don't recommend this company at all. They take advantage of people with bad credit ans charge outrageous interest. This system is so out of date its no different than rent-a-center. Customer service is poor; its probably due to poor management as described by their own employees or previous employees. I had to file bankruptcy years ago and they suddenly tried to come at me recently for an old account. I bought the furniture in 2016 its now 2020 and the company knew about my bankruptcy. Very shady and fishy company. I recommend shopping with Afterpay and Klarna. No interest and new mondern way of shopping. Hopefully we can make these high interest rate pay later companies go out of business.

I used Katapult to purchase an item on ***. The company charged me for the payments but didn't pay ***. Therefore my order was incomplete and was not able to purchase the product. I've contacted their customer service and they want to do a 3 way call to confirm that the payment didn't go through even though it was deducted from my bank account. I believe this company is a scam and will pay off my remaining balance and never use this company again. If they are able to take funds electronically I think they should be able to see that the order didn't go thru. Do not use Katapult

BEWARE OMG BEWARE! We received an $1800 credit from Katapult, wanted to use it for a new mattress. It all seems so wonderful at the start doesn’t it? However getting down to the nitty gritty it’s FAR from wonderful.
Before we pulled the trigger on a $1000 purchase with $45 down & “low” monthly payments, I did what you should all do and went to live chat with a rep to ask my specific detailed questions.
I specifically asked how much my monthly payments would be on a $1000 purchase and for how long I can get a lease for. I also told her my city and state plus zip code. The answers to these questions are critical as they are the criteria used to determine your monthly payments.
The IMPORTANT STUFF: The “Early Purchase Option is ONLY 90 days!! During that time, you only pay the price of what you bought plus taxes and an additional +5% leasing fee.
After this 90 days, omg...wait for it, wait for it...the total amount of your lease is DOUBLE THE AMOUNT OF YOUR PURCHASE. I thought I read that wrong, so I explicitly asked her is she saying our $1000 purchase is now $2000?! Her answer was “That is correct.”
Our lease would have been for 12 months.
Now the pricing for $1000 purchase. She asked how often we are paid, my answer, every 2 weeks. The payments would have been $78 TWICE a month for a total of $156 a month. We might have considered this if it were $78 a month but not twice a month, screw that.
The moral of my story here is don’t jump too fast on these types of lease options because you’ll end up paying so SO MUCH more, I don’t think it’s worth it anymore.
I hope this helps some of you. This chat session with a Katapult rep took place last night and I took screenshots.
