I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

Review: I have had multiple unauthorized charges to my account resulting from a single purchase. This has been a reoccurring $9.95 charge once a month and sometimes twice a month.

I was able to get a promise of a partial refund. I feel that I only should have been charged a single charge of $9.95.

I should be receiving a credit of $69.65.Desired Settlement: A full refund of $69.65.

Review: On December 19, 2013 I ordered a digital thermometer pen for 99 cents ([redacted]) using my debit card. Within minutes I received a confirmation of my order, but it included a digital grilling fork. I immediately called customer service and told her my order included an item I did not order and I would like to have it removed. She apologized and said she would take care of it. I then received my order and it included the digital fork and my account was charged $10.98. I called to report the error and she said there is no guarantee that a cancelled item would be removed from an original order. They would not pay for shipping the item back to them. She also added I would be charged $10 month until the fork was paid off. I had never agreed to that in fact, it was the first time I had heard of that promotion.?Desired Settlement: I would like a refund in cash for the $9.99 and a pre-paid shipping label.

Review: On August 1, 2013 I ordered two cooking thermometers from Gourmet Cooking for $9.95 each or a total of $19.90. Early the following day on August 2 I had a charge against my checking account from Gourmet Cooking for $45.59. I immediately contacted them to find out why there was a charge of $45.59 & not $19.90 as advertised. The customer service agent explained there were additional items ordered & the charges was for the additional product but she could not tell me what the additional product was. I did not order additional items - I only ordered 2 thermometers. I asked to have the order cancelled but they denied my request. I explained over & over that I did not order additional product & I did not want the product so they sent me a return UPS label & said that I would get a refund for the product but not for the shipping charges. My argument was that I did not order the product & should not be charged shipping for product I did not order. After I received the product which I did not open I called again to find out about the additional charges & now a supervisor by the name of [redacted] is telling me not only will I NOT be refunded for shipping I will also be charged an additional amount of $150.00 for the product. I returned the box unopened on August 20, 2013 via UPS tracking number [redacted].Desired Settlement: I do not understand why I would be sent and charged for product I did not order. I would like a full refund since I did not order the additional product and do NOT want any additional charges. I have explained this to them time and time again. The box that the product was delivered in was returned to them unopened. This organization seems to be a complete scam.

Review: Unbeknownst to me, shopgourmetcooking.com tacked on two "free" trial subscriptions to an order I place in July. After 30 days I started to incur monthly charges. $9.95 per subscription per month. When I noticed these unexpected charges I called the company. I complained and stated that I did not know or approve these subscriptions and charges. They explained they would cancel the subscriptions and refund my money. However, the next day another charge was put through.Desired Settlement: Complete refund of all charges. Cancel the subscriptions. Stop unethical business practices.

a pending payment in the amount of $9.95 had already processed which she may not have seen on

her statement until10/23/13. This was reversed on 10/23/13, as were the other two charges of

Review: I ordered a $3.95 cookbook from this company and was subsequently billed for $115 by direct debit from my bank account for additional items I didn't order. The additional items are nothing more than three very small, paperback cookbooks. $115 is an outrageous price for these items and I would not have ordered them myself. This company uses deceptive ordering practices and does not fully disclose the pricing of their products and/or causes people to inadvertently sign up for items they don't want. By the time you realize the charges are being taken out of your bank account, the 60 refund period has passed. There are many other complaints about them online for taking money out of people's bank accounts fraudulently. See http://[redacted] When you call customer service to correct the issue, every rep answers with "I apologize for any misunderstanding", as if they've taken many, many complaint calls. In addition, when they send a confirmation email of your original order, they do NOT itemize what items were ordered. It simply says "Your order is being processed" without itemizing what has been purchased, making it even more likely that you will be unaware of what you're being charged for.Desired Settlement: I want my money back for items I did not order.

We received the letter you sent. She placed her Kitchen Advance order via the internet

on 5/1/13. She was charged $20.74 ($3.95 for the Original Old West Cookbook, $15.80 s&p and

$0.99 to try all of the items risk free for 30 days) and her order was shipped to her.

We believe in our products and want to make our customers' use of them as convenient

as possible. We offer a 30 day no-questions-asked money back guarantee, as well as a 6 month

replacement warranty.

We are sorry that she apparently misunderstood the terms and conditions of the offer

she accepted. Attached you will find copies from the website where she placed her order. As

stated in her letter, the Original Old West Cookbook is $3.95. After she added this to her cart,

she was offered and accepted the Season & Spice Collection (Exhibit 1). This consists of the

Season & Spice Cookbook, the Marinade Encyclopedia, From Bland to Grand Cookbook and the

Freshsnip Gourmet Herb Scissors. The details of this offer: "Pay only $0.99 (plus $3.95 s&p per

item) for .the first 30 days. After 30 days, you will be charged just 4 monthly payments of $5.95

for each of the 4 items." This equals $96.19, if kept, and is why she was charged $15.80 s&p.

She has made all of the payments for her order. We spoke with her on 9/3/13 and refunded the

most recent payment of $23.80. We are willing to extend her money back guarantee if she would

like to return any of the items for a refund, which must be done as soon as possible. She will

incur no further charges.

We apologize for any inconvenience that she experienced as a result of this purchase.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The copy provided by the business is not the offer I responded to. This business purposely engages in misleading and deceptive business practices, in order to trick people into agreeing to these offers. The details of the offer are not shown as on the sample they've provided, if at all. Do you really think so many people would be complaining if it were just an unfortunate misunderstanding, as the company in question as painted it.

I also feel that for you to accept the company's fraudulent explanation and the copy of the order page they've provided, is terribly unfair, because I am unable to provide a copy of the actual order page WITHOUT PLACING ANOTHER ORDER AND STARTING THIS MESS ALL OVER AGAIN which this company knows I am not about to do.

However, what I will do is present you with photos and descriptions of the actual items I received from this company and allow you to decide if you think these items are worth the over $115.00 I was charged. I will leave it to YOU to decide if you think I actually would have AGREED to pay over $100 for these paperback cookbooks.

You can see the books here and in the photo included below. [redacted]

Itemized Descriptions

1. The Original Old West Cookbook (Paperback 271 pages )

2. From Bland to Grand (Paperback 100 pages)

3. Season & Spice Cookbook (Paperback 100 pages)

4. Marinade Encyclopedia (Paperback 100 pages)

As you can see, below, even with the herb scissors, there is absolutely no way this so-called "collection" is worth over $100. No one in their right mind would agree to pay that much for these items. I did NOT knowingly agree to anything except the Old West Cookbook for $3.95. IN ADDITION, I was also charged separately for some sort of membership ($9.95 per month for the past 4 months) and some sort of "rewards program" (also $9.95 a month for four months.) Where are THOSE items detailed on the copy of the "order page" the company provided?? They do not appear in their "terms" but I was charged for them both.

This company is committing legalized fraud by misleading people, hiding the terms of their offers and sending out BLANK order confirmation emails which do NOT detail any of the items that were purchased. I have attached that email confirmation, which I received on May 4th, to this message. As you can see, there is no detail of what was ordered. The company does this so that people will not know what they've been tricked into ordering and cancel the order.

So, in summary, NO I am not, in any way satisfied with this company's explanation nor their offer of a refund, because I doubt that I would ever receive a refund from them. Please be sure to list my complaint under the "UNRESOLVED" category and include this message in the listing. In addition, I already called the company and requested a refund and was denied based on the 60 day refund period having expired. Now that I've complained to the Revdex.com, they've graciously offered to refund my money. I plan to lodge a complaint with the State of California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General and I may need these items for evidence so I will not be returning the items. I will also submit a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission, Bureau of Consumer Protection.

In addition, there are many, many other complaints, exactly like mine, from people online. There are 8 such complaints on this page: [redacted] and many more here: [redacted] and a couple more here: [redacted]

If you really, truly can believe that ALL of these people simply "misunderstood" the terms of the offer or that those terms were displayed on the order page as this company has suggested, then there is something very wrong with this system. Consumers should be able to trust the Revdex.com but I see from all the other complaints you've taken that you most likely will simply accept the company's answer as truth, and ignore the protestations of the consumers. This is not over. I have many more agencies I will be contacting about this fraudulent company and I will be sure to detail how the Revdex.com was no help at all.

Regards,

Business

We must emphasize that the documentation we originally provided is indeed the same

does not agree with our assessment. We offer a money back guarantee so if a customer is not

satisfied, they can return for a refund. We offered to extend her money back guarantee and she

Review: My husband purchased a BBQ Digital Fork from this company in March 2014. When I called today to find out why we have 2 charges every month from their company, I was told that at the time of the purchase we were given a free 30 day trial of the Gourmet Cooking and Gourmet Rewards and after the 30 day trial we have been charged $9.95 for each of these "services" each month. I realize that I should have been watching my checking account closer but I just realized these charges a couple of days ago. I called the company today ([redacted]) and spoke with [redacted]. She said that she would cancel the "subscription immediately" and that they have a 30 day money back guarantee so we will receive a total of $19.90 back in our account. Other than that, we are out of luck on all of the months that we have been paying for this "service" which adds up to just under $200! I can assure you that my husband would NEVER have agreed to any "free" 30 day trial . . . .neither of us cooks much at all. I did ask to see where we signed up for this service and was told I might be able to see it on the website. I went there but could not locate any "agreements".Desired Settlement: I would certainly like to see if we can get the entire amount back that has been paid to this company since April or May of last year. I would also like to see a confirmation that my husband approved of this service. And that this company is investigated for fraudulent/deceiving practices.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I can not believe that the terms they suggest were listed were listed with the price of the item ordered. They might have been listed it somewhere on the page in small print, but not with the main order information.

I have contacted the business three times asking for an invoice, which was never sent. To date I have not seen an invoice. If an invoice had been sent with the terms clearly stated as in the letter, all items would have been returned as soon as they were recieved. I have also requested a packing slip of the items that were to be shipped to me- you guessed it, nothing has been sent. I asked for the details concerning the shipping of the package, and was sent information concerning someone else's order.

I can not resolve the matter with no written information being provided to the customer.

Doesn't California law require that an invoice be sent to the customer?

I returned all the items today, 2nd day delivery and it cost $13.00. I will pay half of that in shipping costs since it came regular mail. I am not paying $36.00 for shipping and handling for a $6.00 order.

I wish I could provide more information, but the company will not email any of the items requested with multiple requests.

When you try to file a complaint on their website, you are required to put a code in to get the system to accept the information. No code is shown, so no one can file a complaint on the system. When I called and asked for the code, I was told you can not file a complaint on the web. How convenient, no complaints because no one can file one. The page still exists and the problem has not been addressed.

Classic signs of a scam in my book. No invoices, no shipping documents, outrageous shipping charges, and second payment charges for things not clearly displayed on the website. A$1.00 dollar item that you get charged a surcharge of $20.00 on, give me a break. When the company can clean up their act and be honest about their dealings, I will let up, not until then. Clean up your act and your websites---------provide clear information that is requested in writing, not just verbally.

We received the response letter you sent.

Our records show that we sent him an emailed invoice as requested, but he apparently

did not receive it. We spoke with a representative from his bank on 5/2/13 who informed us of

this. At that time, an invoice was faxed to the number she requested. A copy of the invoice has

been attached along with this letter. He states that the terms were not listed with the price of

each item ordered, but as our previous letter shows, each offer was detailed at the time of

purchase. The invoice reflects the total unit price of each offer. after the trial periods. The

Digital Cooking Thermometer is $1.00 to try, then $19.95 for a total of $20.95. The shipping on

this item is $9.95. The Art of The Knife with Great Pastamaker and Pesto Gourmet Cookbooks

are $.99 to try, for all 3 books. After which, they are 2 monthly payments of $9.95 for each of

the 3 books for a total of $60.69. The shipping on each of the books is $3.95. The Gourmet

Seasonings are $1.00 to try, and then are $9.95 for each 4-Pack jar (plus $4.95 s&p for each

jar) for a total of $30.85. The offer we originally provided was slightly different, and was 2

monthly payments of $5.95 for each 4-Pack jar after the dollar trial for a total of $54.55 (plus

$3.95 s&p for each jar). The shipping on these items comes to $36.65. He returned his entire

order which we refunded on 5/13/13 in the amount of $86.59. In addition to this, we have

refunded him $6.65 for half of the cost of his return shipping and an additional $15.00 of the

initial shipping for a total of $21.65. He will incur no further charges.

We apologize for any inconvenience that he experienced as a result of this purchase.

We try very hard to satisfy our customers and to learn from them when they have not had a

good experience with us. We hope and trust that this matter is now resolved. Should you have

Review: I purchased 3 small paperback books for a total of $14.89 in October, 2014 which was charged to my credit card. They charged my card in October. In November, they again charged my card $19.65, then again in December. In December they also charged two separate charges of $9.95. I called and complained and demanded they reimburse the fraudulent charges. They made the charges under three separate ID entries, each with a different phone number. They claim I had agreed to pay 3 months at 19.65 in addition to the original charge of $14.89. They claimed I also agreed to 3 months of free premium membership and would pay $9.95 per month after the 3 months. This was NOT agreed to, or posted on their site. They stated they would reimburse the two $9.95 charges, but refuse to reimburse the monthly $19.65 charges, or accept the books back. There is no way I would agree to pay over $70.00 for three small paperback books worth no more than $5 each. I also would never become a "member" of their business since there are no benefits. It's a scam to obtain credit card numbers to charge monthly. I have read numerous similar complaints online and fear they will NOT even reimburse the fraudulent "membership" charges they have made. Thus far, they have charged me $74.09 for books I purchased for what I was led to believe was $14.89.Desired Settlement: I want them to cease making charges on my card, reimburse the two $9.95 charges they made this month under two separate identifications, and reimburse the monthly $19.65 charges they have made and are continuing to make.

Review: This company advertizes cookware and cookbooks. What they do not tell you is if you purchase their product, you will be signed up for two automatic payments each month of $9.95 as an enrollment fee for a recipe and reward service. They do not explain this in any confirmation emails they send. Only that you have purchased a product from them. When you finally figure out the fee you are paying each month, they will only initially agree to refund the current month's charge. You have to threaten them with a formal Revdex.com complaint to get three months' refunds. If you haven't discovered the charge to your credit card within three months, you are not refunded for any additional charges outside the three months. They have agreed to refund my last three credit card fees over the last three months, which would mean I have lost $40.00 to this company. That is if they do actually refund the $60.00 which I have paid over the last three months. ( $20.00 each month). If they do not, then I have lost $100.00. If they do not refund all charges, I will be filing a small claims through the court.Desired Settlement: A full refund of the $100.00 I have paid over the last five months.

I called and they told me that they had the order for the two timers and an order for the other products. I told them I never ordered the other products. There was a charge of $ 90.54 for the other products that I did not order. They said I could send them back, but, I would have to pay the shipping. Then they would credit my card for the items. I told them I wanted an invoice so I would know that I was credited for the full amount of each product. They e-mailed me a receipt which is invoice#[redacted]. The triple kitchen timer, digital thermometer, and blade kitchen scale are not listed separately. There is one charge of $90.54 for the items I did not order. It was supposed to be free shipping. There is a charge of $ 11.85 for S&P. They have already charged my card $32.74, and the one service rep. out of three that I talked to said they will divide the remainder into three payments. Three more payments for something I did not order and if I want to send back the items I did not order, I have to pay to do it. I went into the complaints about this company and found that there are many more people who had the same thing happen to them.Desired Settlement: I do not want any of their items after what they did to me. We received the letter you sent. He placed his Kitchen Advance order via the internet

on 8/19/13. He was charged $32.74 ($19.90 for the Digital Thermometers, $11.85 s&p and $0.99

to try all of the items risk free for 30 days) and his order was shipped to him.

We believe in our products and want to make our customers' use of them as convenient

We are sorry that he apparently misunderstood the terms and conditions of the offer

he accepted. Attached you will find copies from the website where he placed his order. As

stated in his letter, the Digital Thermometers are $9.95 each with free s&p. After adding these

to his cart, he was offered and accepted the Ultimate Digital Cooking Set (Exhibit 1). This

consists of a Digital Meat Thermometer, Digital 3-Line Timer and Digital Kitchen Scale. The

details of this offer: "Pay only $0.99 (plus $3.95 s&p per item) for the first 30 days. After 30

days, you will be charged just 3 monthly payments of $9.95 for each of the 3 items." This equals

$90.54, if kept, and is why he was charged $11.85 s&p. We spoke with him on 8/30/13 and

offered to send him a UPS return service label, which he requested be sent via mail. He will be

refunded in full upon receipt of the returned order.

However, it has been a week and I have still not received a label. One of the complaints in the Kitchen Advance Complaints site says she never received a label after they said they would send one. Are they going to wait to send a label until the 30 day trial period is up so they can say the items were not returned within the 30 days?

Why would I accept an offer to pay a total of $29.85 plus $4.94 s+p for a meat thermometer I purchased for $9.95, and two other items that I have absolutely no use for at all ?

They said they have no record of me calling last week! I again asked them to cancel all memberships, or anything conected to my account and refund my money. Review: This company, shopgourmetcooking.com sent me an email offering to sell me various cooking related spices and products for very low prices, like $1, without mentioning that the offering was a membership. Said membership has recurring monthly dues/fee and charges for more of the same spices and cooking products. On 1-15-2015 I ordered a few of the spices at $1-$3.00 each which should have totaled less than $10. The company sent me an order confirmation listing the items in my order but with no prices or total or mention of membership or fees, etc. Now, on 2-22-2015, after calling and talking with their customer service representative for a second time, I'm told that my order total is $130.00 and that I can't cancel the order. Plus, she could not tell me how much I would be charged per month for the membership (which I did not order) or the subsequent products. No, I have not yet received the ordered products. All I want is for the refund of all the charges to my credit card and not incure any subsequent charges.Desired Settlement: Reverse all charges to my credit card and prohibit any subsequent charges from this company.

Review: I called yesterday regarding a 9.95 charge to my credit card, I was informed it was for a monthly subscription, tied to a coloring book I purchased in April. I was told I would a receive a refund of the latest charge. The original offer was from a quilting website I visit regularly - "Piecing it altogether"I went to the original offering and NOWHERE did it state that there was a subscription that I was going to be charged for, not in the offer itself and not in the terms and conditions.I thereby request a full refund of all charge you collected for the subscription".Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for all the monthly charges they collected, since I only agreed to purchase the coloring book, not to subscribe to any cooking website services. There was no mention anywhere about the subscription service.
