Alarm Funding Associates purchased this contract from [redacted] Security with a signature of [redacted]. We understand from the customer's daughter ( [redacted]) that she believes her mother either didn't sign the agreement or didn't know what she was signing. We gave her our best offer to cut...

the remaining balance on the contract in half to $330.00 from $660.00, however [redacted] was not satisfied and began to speak over our representative who offered to send her a copy of the contract. It is noted that [redacted] stated, "we are not paying. Period!"Given the situation, in good faith AFA will again offer to cut the balance remaining on the contract to $200.00. This is a substantial financial loss for AFA and is our final and best offer.  We would be happy to provide a copy of the signed contract.

Alarm Funding Associates (AFA) is a Security companyWe have a contractual agreement with [redacted], not [redacted] (who is submitting this complaint); therefore we cannot and would not cancel an account of a customer with a request from someone other than that customerAgain, we are a security
company and our customers' safety is our top priority. I am sure the Revdex.com can understand and agree with this stance

AFA purchased the contract for alarm monitoring at [redacted] located at:[redacted] Charlotte, NC  [redacted] from [redacted]. We cannot cancel the account at the request of someone other than the contract signor. The account will go through the collection process and after 90 days of no payments, will be cancelled for non-payment. [redacted] will not be held responsible for the balance due on this contract.

We are unable to locate this customer and address in our database. Please provide a cr and we will gladly research further.

I am rejecting this response because:
This is not true, on the alarm keypad it says for service call Cornerstone alarm and lists its phone number, im happy to send pic, and it says im protected by Cornerstone Alarm.  I have been calling Cornerstone for month and months about it, and keep getting run around.  To me this has been a unhappy tricky fraudulent experience - selling me service when my system is not working and they know its not and not communicating.  I feel dumb cause I pay $440/year for monitoring and I get no security.  Had I been robbed or had a fire or anything this alarm would never have worked or protected me.  You should make it clear to unsuspecting consumers how tricky this company is.  Im now in process of getting an ADT system, cause at least they are a reputable company, and they wont keep saying its some other company that has responsibility.  You really should investigate this, this multiparty setup they have is certainly designed to mislead and take advantage of the customer.  I hope you can prevent others from being cheated like I am being cheated.  I guess all I can do is wait for my refund for the 3 months like they said in their response to you.  Although I suspect they will never send me back the money, only said it to assuage you.

Alarm Funding Associates is the billing company for [redacted]. We apologize for the miscommunication between customer and local office,  of what day the monitoring services, were to be cancelled. We will gladly refund for the entire month of September in the amount of $49.77.
