I am rejecting this response because:There was NOT a sign posted that stated a credit card fee was to be charged!There should have been something stating all the fees that will be charged.  The only fee that was post was about the $5.62 Philly tax to be charged.

I am rejecting this response because:Lew Blum's response, "where this person parked their vehicle where it was towed from that is where the battery got stolen," is unreasonable. That my car would be targeted on a busy, affluent, residential street in [redacted], among many other cars (there were no other filings of vandalism on that block of [redacted] between that Saturday and Monday when the towing occurred), is very unlikely. That it would be targeted in a neighborhood known to be a high crime area - the location of Lew Blum's headquarters - is much more feasible, and reasonable. Lew Blum did not provide adequate vehicle storage.The fact of the matter is, Lew Blum has been unhelpful, unresponsive by phone, and dismissive by E-mail - their business practices have been 100% questionable. No one will question that. It takes one internet search, one read-through of their responses via this Revdex.com filing, or one interaction with them to see this. I'm confident that I am not the first or last person to call out Lew Blum for its business practices.Again, I have no doubt in my mind that Lew Blum did not provide adequate storage of my vehicle upon towing.I will explore an additional complaint with Licensing and Inspections in the near future, and will submit all materials received via the Revdex.com in this regard. Lew Blum's disregard for better business practices is disappointing and egregious.

Hello in response to the complaint. If Lew Blum Towing co inc tow’s a vehicle in violation of any of these subsections that [redacted] has brought to everyone attention, we tell everyone if you think we wrongfully towed your vehicle take us to court. We follow all rules and...

7-31-2016Hello in response to the complaint.Lew Blum Towing Co Inc. Has recently given pictures to the person making this complaint...our pictures show all existing damage on vehicle before vehicle was hooked to the tow truck. Thank you Lew Blum

Hello Revdex.com in response to this complaint . when this vehicle was picked up from Lew Blum Towing co inc there was no report from the person picking up this vehicle that there was any damage done  to this vehicle from TOW. the picture showing damage was taken at the home of the person making this...

I am rejecting this response because: I was shopping and it wasn't even 5 minutes before my car was towed my car and two other women who were shopping car was towed I feel that Lew Blum tow truck driver was being smart toward the fact that there were several other free parking spots at the time. And the tow truck driver just chose me and the two women cars just to choose them to tow. I would like to see the photos and police report as well. And no annoucement was heard for them to tow my car not one time. And the tow fee is $175 and $25 per day Lew Blum towed my car in less than 5 minutes and charged 25$ which it was not a whole day that they took my car. I immediately went to the main office on 40th street after coming out of [redacted]. When I asked the manager there did anyone call the towing company and told them that cars were parked there illegally and the manager s[redacted] no. So I don't feel is fair at all. When I work at [redacted]!

I am rejecting this response because:  the "2 hours later" comment refers to the fact that the car had been towed at approx 11:35pm (per the towing receipt, which was provided upon paying the $200) and the time we went to pick up the car, which was at approximately 1:30 am.
We placed a call to Lew Blum on Sunday morning at approximately 10 am (within 12 hours...which is more than a timely response).
Another call was placed on...and again on Tuesday.  We got the run-around and no resolution was provided.
CLEARLY, the damage was caused by a tow truck.  Photos indicate such.
I have file the claim with my insurance carrier and they will subrogate against Lew Blum's carrier for reimbursement of damages.
Lew Blum is a terrible company and does not want to take accountability for its action.

In response to the complaint after reading this complaint we have concluded these are accusation there is no merit of what is being said about Lew Blum Towing co inc it has been stated this vehicle was left unattended And when the owner pick up the vehicle it is stated that the hood was pried open....

which means where the vehicle was parked that is where the battery got stolen. What the employee meant by saying I can get you a hot battery Meaning a fully charge battery, when batteries are fully charge the are warm. I have said this before no tickets are needed to tow a vehicle in Philadelphia pa.It has been said that Lew Blum Towing is a problem by the Philadelphia police have the police put that in writingIf not it is here say. We do about 15000.00 dollars in credit cards at an average and can prove it.Lew Blum

Hello we have read the complaint. our office hours are 9 am to 6 am. all fees are on the receipt . when this person who is making the complaint called Lew Blum Towing the question was asked. do you take credit cards. we said yes. when the card was presented that is when we told her it...

would be a 4 % surcharge.not 8 % the damage that is on the vehicle is above the door glass near the roof of the vehicle.impossible for tow do that type of damage plus we have pictures of vehicle before it is hooked to the tow truck.    thank you Lew Blum

Review: My car was towed and the sign said $150 + $25 a day. When I called they told me I needed to pay $205. When I got there they charged me $235 and wouldn't release my car until I paid. They lied on the phone and claimed my car was towed the night before yet there was a ticket that said I was towed at 7 in the morning. Also, there was a parking ticket from 6:15 that morning saying I was parked where they towed me from.Desired Settlement: I expect and demand my refund of $55.

Review: My car was partially towed by this company for partially blocking a driveway while parked. I do not contest their decision to tow my vehicle. However, the tow signs (posted at the spot where my car was towed and all over [redacted]) state that the cost is $175 for towing plus $25 for storage. On top of that there is a $5 tax. However, the company told me that it would cost me $135 to get my vehicle. My car had not been in their garage overnight--it had only been there less than 6 hours. The total should have been $205. When I questioned the business, I was told that the extra money was "cause we parked your car in our nice covered garage--so people won't key it and jump on it and [redacted]." The "office" is located in a high crime area of West [redacted], evidenced by the fact that you had to hand your keys and money through the a barred door to get your vehicle. The business also only accepts cash and will not provide any change whatsoever. Clearly, they scam those who they have towed who are not in a position of power and skim cash of the top. They apparently do this a lot, looking at reviews of the business online. I probably should have argued more, but it was a dangerous situation and they used that to their advantage.Desired Settlement: I do not honestly care about the $30 at this point--although I would like it back if possible. But I would like them to stop scamming people. They should charge what is posted on their signs and provide change to customers.

Review: I was towed by Lew Blum Towing from a parking spot that I believe to be completely legal to park in. I discovered that my car was missing on 1/7/2014 and verified that Lew Blum had possession of my car. On 1/7/2014 I requested photographic evidence of my illegal parking. I was told it would be up that night, at midnight, ready for my viewing when I went to pick up my car the following day. On 1/8/2014, I paid $265 to gain back possession of my car. Upon my request of photos, the man working there told me that "the server was down" and that the following day the photos should be available. On 1/9/2014 I called to check the status of the server and I was informed that the photos had not been processed. I informed the man working that I would be by the office of Saturday and would expect the photos at that time. On 1/11/2014 I called to verify the photos of my illegal towing were at the office. I was told that the printer was out of ink and was subsequently hung up on. I called back several times and continued to be hung up on. Ten minutes later my call was answered and I volunteered to bring in whatever ink was needed for his printer. Please note that I have dealt with one individual the entire time I have been requesting these photos. I was told that the ink was ordered and to call back Monday. After expressing my discontent, I was told to call back at 5pm. I asked to speak with a manager at this time and the man I had been dealing with said he was the manager. When I asked to speak to his manager, he said he didn't have one. I requested to leave a message for Lew Blum but my name and phone number were never taken as I was hung up on again after requesting a call back.Desired Settlement: Photographic evidence of illegal parking. If I was, in fact, parked illegally, I understand that I am fully responsible for the $265 associated with the towing of my car. If there is no evidence of my illegal parking, I am seeking the $265 that was paid to Lew Blum Towing to regain possession of my car.

Review: My car was towed from the lot of the apartment complex that I live in, [redacted]. When I went to pick up my car the attendant told me that my parking permit was not displayed properly. There is a note posted behind the counter that says that they take pictures before the car is towed showing that the permit was not displayed. When I asked for the pictures, I was told that they would not be uploaded until the end of the shift. Since my car was towed on 1/11/14, I have called and asked for the pictures at least 5 times. Each time I am told that I will receive a call back and I have yet to receive a call. I have contacted my leasing office to see if they could help and I have not received a response. I am certain that my parking permit was displayed properly and that my car was unlawfully towed. I believe that when I gave the attendant my keys that my parking permit was removed and placed on the floor before my car was returned to me.Desired Settlement: I believe my car was towed unlawfully and the towing company does not have proof that my parking permit was not displayed. I would like to have a refund of $205 returned back to me.

Review: Illegally towed my car. I got a written statement from a police officer stating that the car was legally parked and towed without reason. The police stated that they could not help any more since it is a private matter. Lew Blum would not release my car or show me the pictures from the tow driver. Repeatedly hung up on me when I called. Lew Blum attempts to bully "customers" to pay and knows they can get away with it since apparently they answer to no one and have free reign to take anyone's car they feel like.Desired Settlement: A refund and an apology

Review: On 12/22/2013 my vehicle went missing from where I had parked it. I called the police since I thought my car had been stolen. Police arrived and they told me that my car had been towed by Lew Blum Towing. I called the towing company and the person who answered the phone refused to tell me if my car was with them. He very rudely told me to call after one hour. I was from out of town so I told him I am getting ready to travel and need to know whether they had my car so I can pick it up and begin my travel. He was very rude and slammed the phone on me. The police officer then called the number and finally was able to verify for me that they had my car. I told the police officer that my car was picked up from the area not covered by the towing sign. The police officer told me to take pictures and then ask Lew Blum Towing for a complaint form to dispute the tow. I went to the Lew Blum Office and the customer service person named [redacted] said " We only take cash because I am the only person working here and I do not know how to work the card machine so I cannot help you unless you get cash, I cannot give your car without cash." I also asked for a complaint form, and he refused and told me to call back the next day to talk to "[redacted]" the manager. I got cash out of the ATM and went back, and after almost 20 mins wait he gave me my car. The next day, I called back to talk to the manager and asked for "[redacted]" as I was told to do. The person who answered the phone said there is no [redacted] here talk to me. Then I explained the whole situation to him and he said to hold, then he hung up on me. I called right back and said I got hung up on and he said NO you hung up. So, I did not argue and asked how I can dispute the tow. He told me to file a complaint in civil court, and I asked for his name and he said it was Lew Blum. I am not sure if that was his correct name or not. But, they firstly, wrongly towed my car, were extremely rude and inconsiderate on the phone as well as when I went to collect my car, they had a credit card machine but refused to use it because [redacted] - the employee did not know how to use it. I had to spend additionally money in the form of fees to pay withdraw money from an atm at the convenience store in the area. They denied to provide me with photos or any explanation of how they were authorized to remove my car. This is stealing and ripping people off of money.Desired Settlement: They have to refund my money because my car was not wrongly parked. My car was parked away from the area that had their towing sign. They did not have the right to touch my car when it was parked in an area not covered by their tow sign.

Review: My car was stolen by Lew Blum towing inc. today, and the tow truck driver lie to me to my face. The tow truck driver told me that the building manager call to have my car tow. I told him that the build manager told me to park there because they needed my parking space. So he said to call the building manager and he will wait till we get back. I went and call the building manager, that the tow truck driver for Lew Blum towing inc. stated call them. When I got back out with the building manger Lew Blum towing inc. took off with my car. The build manager stated they never call Lew Blum towing Inc. to have my car towed.

When I got to their address at [redacted] to get my car. They are rude, unprofessional and in my and my mechanic's opinion totally unqualified to tow anything. I ask for the worker name he said he does not have a name, I ask for the tow truck driver name, the person at the desk said he does not know his name. I ask for supervisor he does not have one. He said Lew Blum owns the company. So I ask him for Lew Blum towing inc. phone number, the person at the counter said he does not know it. But he will be in later, I have been call all night, now the person at the counter said he is not coming in to night. Then he told me I can call Lew Blum towing inc at [redacted] the number to the store. The person at the counter would not speak to me, he went behind the counter and hide, all he keep saying you got the money.

I call the police to come by the office because I could not believe I was getting rob, Lew Blum towing inc. they would not let the police officers in the back to see were my cars was. I was told that they or their something’s three to four times a day because Lew Blum Towing Inc. really be stealing peoples car. They go in your car take off your parking tags and tow your car.

I paid my fine of $205 in order to get my car back which I did not understand how they or going to rob me like that and the police can do nothing about it, I leave my car in a perfectly good condition and then get it back from Lew Blum Towing Inc and notice immediately that it is in a terrible condition. The smart tow truck drive from Lew Blum Towing inc towed my car with the parking breaks on from [redacted] to [redacted] with my parking breaks on. They only take one form of payment cash.

The person at the counter would not talk to me, until I can show him the money and once I paid he when back behind the counter and I did not see him again.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to be investigated, and the company fined for unlawful business practice. I would like the police to have access to this company parking lot when a complaint has been file and the [redacted] police district is called. I would like for the employees to have name tags on because when you ask for the name the employee say they do not have a name. When you ask for the tow truck drive name the employee say they do not know they name. I would like for there to be a supervisor and a contact number to call them. I would like the license suspended for six month and all there employee attend a customer training class on how to speak to customer. Their license should not be reinstated till all employee has attend these class. And the customer rep should not cross there name of the recipt.

Review: My car was parked on [redacted].. the illegally towed my car. I called police who could not find a area where there was a signfor no parking. They found out my car was at lew blum. When I called someone named [redacted] (wwouldn't give me his last name) ssaid he was a manager and told me to [redacted] off and if I kept talking, I wouldn't get my car back at all. When I got to their location, they showed me a picture which proves my car was removed from it orignal spot and placed directly in front of a parking garage where cars couldn't get by. They claimed that the [redacted] police called them and gave me a ticket. That is also a lie as the police has no record of this. The citizens of [redacted] are not protected against these companies is this is not the first time I hage heard of them doing this. Please look into this matter. I would like my 200 dollars refunded immediatly.Desired Settlement: I want a refund as well as criminal charges files against them for theft.
