November 18, 2013, as the ceremony at my mother's grave was ending and people were coming up to talk to me the funeral director told me the cemetery required the headstone be engraved in a short period of time. Not being from the area he suggested a company that could do the work and told me they would bill me. Less than a week later I received what I thought was a bill from that company and paid it. I honestly didn't remember the name of the company and admit I should have inquired further. I promptly wrote a check to Lifestone by Stefan for $299 by mistake on November 26 and they promptly cashed the check on December 2. Then I received a bill from the company actually doing the engraving. I called on December 10, 2013, explaining the situation and asking for a refund. Since then I have called and emailed several times about this situation. I have not received a refund. Joan from Lifestone by Stefan tells me she has been sending the refund requests to the accounting department asking that they be expedited to no avail. I have not received a refund or even an explanation.Desired Settlement To receive a refund.Desired Settlement: Refund-CheckUnclear as to wheter or not she was refunded. QB says amt. due is -$299, indicating a refund. But notes are unclear on this, as well as Revdex.com complaint. Need to find out.

I agreed to let the company resolve this issue and again, they have not contacted me. I ordered a headstone for my husband on 12/12/14 and was told that delivery would and installation would be no later than 4/15. When I did not hear from...

the company by this date, I started making phone calls. After numerous attempts and 5 months passing, I finally received a call in October from Greg S[redacted], Sr. explaining that they were having problems with their inscriber and he thought that I was notified. When I told him that I wasn't and made numerous calls without any response, he promised me that this would be taken care of and the headstone would be installed by the end of October. Well the end of October came and went and daily calls were again placed to this company without any response until 11/17 when Greg S[redacted], Sr. again called and asked how I wanted the inscribing done (even though this was done at time of purchase and printed on my receipt) and asked if I could email my pictures to their inscriber Augusto R[redacted]. I emailed the information that evening and he confirmed that it was received. After this I have heard nothing from this company, despite daily messages left. My husband was young when he passed from cancer and did not have any life insurance. I am left with my three children and do not have any money to purchase a new headstone. My children are distraught over the fact that they still do not have a headstone for my husband and I just want some closure for them. I think that I have been very reasonable along with gullible up to this point, but now I want action to be taken against this company, so they do not do this to any other family in mourning. I would like a complete refund along with any interest accrued since this was paid in full on 12/12/14.

We are told by our cutters that this inscription at [redacted] Cemetery can be completed in the coming week, and certainly before the Thanksgiving holiday.

If customer reviews the contract he will note that the end date is 1/15/16.  Although we are past this date, we have had frequent weather delays this January.  We are working to fulfill the order a.s.a.p.

Consumer signed a contract giving  business 6 to  8 months to complete this order, weather permitting (counting forward from June).  Said contract is in effect though Feb. 2016 and business intends to complete it on time.  This is not a request, but a contract.

This stone was set in November 2013. I have recently opened this situation to one of the senior partners and will resolve this issue. We apologize for the concern this has brought to you and your family.

Revdex.com,After months of not hearing from you,  and over 20 attempts to contact the business I contacted my local consumer affairs department in Bucks County, PA. After being brought to the District Attorney's attention along with 6 other cases against  Lifestone by Stefan and [redacted], they finally delivered the stone on October 13th. They also delivered the stones of the other complainants to escape possible prosecution of fraud. My father's name was [redacted]. My family used my mother's name ([redacted])on the original purchase document order [redacted]. I am now satisfied but still think this company is fraudulent. In total it took 39 calls to this business and was promised delivery of the stone on 5 different dates before it was finally delivered on the 6 th date of October 13, 2015.

Yes, a refund was made almost 12 months after payment was made as well as when the company was to install the headstone. The company only refunded the payment after 27 unanswered calls and a threat to come to their business with the police and after my daughter in-law went to the news. This company is fraud and should not be allowed to operate as a business.

I am rejecting this response because: I cant believe this company . the payment to [redacted] was sent March 16 and was cashed at that time . The weather permitting is for the cemetery so they can pour the foundation for the stone  not to make the stone. I don't know how Life Stone is counting weeks , but November 6th would be 35 weeks . I have called them twice this week to cancel the order but as of today Thursday November 12 have not heard back from them . By the way it has been a year now that my Mom has passed and no marker on her grave .

We are reviewing this order.  Approval drawings normally take weeks to send out for a number of reasons.  Also, refunds are not automatic.  They are always prefaced by an agreement between both  parties to rescind the contract.

has been completed. We have sent a picture of the completed stone via email
(attached below). We will make every attempt to set this stone once there is a
break in the weather. Currently, the ground is still frozen, making it

design of the [redacted] on the left of the stone. The design itself
is detail oriented, making it very hard to look the way the family wants it.
The stone is to be set in section 5, in [redacted] cemetery.  Section 5 is located in front of the cemetery
office. It has become popular due to its location in the cemetery, the only
single grave section, and being the desired choice for families, compared to
the farther sections. With all these factors in play, it is considered busy
with funerals and opening of graves.

This business Life Stone By Stefan contracted on 12/10/2014 to deliver a headstone to my fathers grave site, to date nothing but excuses. They lied to the Revdex.com on 10/30/15 stating that they negotiated with us for half refund and the stone just to get you to close the complaint previously filed . They never called anyone from our family, they have never responded to repeated emails and phone calls. They have not delivered the stone or the refund to date. We can't believe this company has been allowed to still market and do business in any capacity. They have clearly breached their contracted obligations, they have used deceptive sales practices, they have preyed on the elderly and taken advantage of the bereaved. The only option we have been left with is filing a lawsuit for the above failure to deliver on their obligations. We are seeking a FULL REFUND of all monies.
