Not completely filled. Still waiting for picture purchased to be applied as contracted to the stone.

This order was fulfilled on 1/18/16. Thank you.

Contract period is 26 to 28 weeks, weather permitting.   November 6 would have been the term - had we experienced no problems w/ cemetery or weather. As it stands we are waiting for confirmation that complainant mailed her cemetery payment to the cemetery, as she was supposed to.  Once we have that we can create and ship the stone to [redacted] for setting.

Kindly note that this order was fulfilled/completed on 1/22/2016.  Please marked the complaint resolved.

I am rejecting this response because: I called Gregory S[redacted] on November 30, 2015. I got the answering service again. I told them I did not want to leave another message because I do not get a call back. I stated I wanted the address and that I was calling the police. Within 5 minutes Mr. Stephan called me back. I was at the cemetery and they stated he did not drop off the permit yet which I signed in July. He stated he did. I told him I was at the cemetery if he wanted to speak to them and he said no he would drop it off. The permit was dropped off the next day. I would like to keep this complaint till the actual stone is placed on my Father's grave. The only time I get an answer from Mr. Stephan is when he is threaten with legal action.

[redacted] Chestertown Maryland [redacted] Daytime Phone: ###-###-####Evening Phone: ###-###-####[redacted]@qacps.org (email)Complaint Detail I am the POA to my father, [redacted]. My father purchased (paid in full) the bronze plaques that needed to be added to the grave site of my mother, [redacted]. He purchased the screw on plaques that state my mother's name and her dates of birth and death. The purchase was made in late November and LifeStone has NOT completed the plaques which were promised once the weather turned nicer nor have they returned the 7 phone calls asking for an update. My father also pre-purchased his bronze plaque for the grave site.Desired Settlement I would like LifeStone to deliver and install the purchased the bronze plaques on the grave site of my mother.Desired Settlement: Delivery of OrderCompleted 9/3/2015, per QB

We purchased a stone in July, 2014. As of June2, 2015, the stone has not been installed at the gravesite. In May, 2015, several calls were made to Lifestone who assured me that the stone would be installed within 2 weeks. After 3 weeks, the stone has yet to be installed. Also, subsequent calls were not returned.

My family has been put through an unwarranted amount of stress while dealing with LifeStone by Stefan, and its many apparent subsidiaries. They are also so notorious in the business community that our funeral director warned us of them and their deceptive business practices. Specifically mailing very official looking invoices (they claim quotes) to families once an obituary has been posted. We managed to dodge that mis-leading tactic but fell for the next, namely their over one dozen physical locations that do not bear the name "LifeStone" at all. Most recently (April 2015) they've begun using the name "CGG Memorials" presumably short for "Cartledge, Gallagher, Stefan" the three surnames associated with their locations.
Memorial style and shape was selected from a catalog using stock artwork, and it was paid in full on April 12, 2014. The stone itself being 2.0x4.0x0.4 feet in size and of a flush head mount style. At that point, the clock began ticking on its installation. The promised time frame was 24 to 28 weeks weather contingent; the contingency applying only to rain or snow cover obscuring the site.
The stone was installed today (January 13, 2015). To save you the work, that's 39 weeks or more than 11 weeks past the deadline. When my mother or I tried to contact them to ascertain the installation date, starting October 16th, we were fed a steady diet of lies and incorrect information. Since December 15th, we have been promised roughly a half-dozen dates before the actual delivery today. To add insult to injury, they would also no longer answer the phones after learning my and my family's caller ID information. This is evident in the 82 phone calls I've placed to their offices since December 29th -- only about a dozen of which resulted in me speaking with an employee. The more often I checked in the longer it took for them to answer the phone.
When I questioned directly, and in person, Greg Stefan as to the issues with the install. He would only comment that he did not know why it took so long. He further insinuated that "he wasn't sure that the stone wasn't custom", an insinuation which would allow him to wiggle into the 32 to 40 week installation window. [The paper work signed makes no indication of a custom job.]
In my opinion, this company is unscrupulous and people need to be readily aware of what happened so they can make informed decisions about their memorial company.

Review: Lifestone was issued a $289. check back in March 2012 for engraving services on my uncles grave stone. I have contacted representatives of Lifestone on numerous occasions to inquire about the completion of the work with no return phone calls. Finally, in Nov, 2012 they contacted me about whether the engraving can be done on the other grave stone which is adjacent to the one where the name was to be engraved due to lack of space on the other stone. Both grave sites are owned by my Uncle. I responded that it could be done on the other grave stone. After two months past, there still was no information forthcoming about the engraving. I contacted Lifestone serveral times & left messages to have someone call me back but to no avail, no-one ever contacted me back. Spoke to an employee [redacted] several times.

In Jan. 2013, I submitted a written letter to Lifestone demanding my money back for lack of services. I have even asked my brother-in-law to assist with trying to get through to someone at Lifestone to request my refund.

On April 23, 2013 he was able to get into contact with the same employee named [redacted] & discussed in detail what had occured. She was a little familar with the situation as she was the same person that I had spoken to months before. [redacted] called my brother-in-law back that evening & informed him that the check would be in the mail by the end of the week. As of this day, April 28, 2013 still no check. My brother-in-law called back at approx. 4:45 PM & spoke again to [redacted] about the check was not in mail & delivered as promised. She told him that she would give the message to the owners [redacted]. she had nothing to do with issuing checks. He left his number with her again & requested that the owner call him right away. No response as usual!Desired Settlement: I want my money back immediately with an explanation how a company like this can do business & just take money from people without any services rendered for over a year.

I am rejecting this response because:

I was issued a refund in the amount of $260. not the for the full $289. that was issued to Lifestone. I did not receive any information from Lifestone as to why I was not given my total refund.

The receipt does not state any fees associated with their business practices, especially when they did not do anything with the engraving or keep in contact with me until this complaint was issued.

I am demanding the balance of my $29.00 be mailed to me as soon as possible to officially close this complaint.

I want to thank you for your assistance in helping resolve my complaint & hope that my full refund be sent out by "Lifestone as soon as possible.
