LL Flooring Reviews (%countItem)

I ordered and paid online for some floor cleaners on 12/2/17 and I still have not received them. I just called the customer care. At first she said the cleaners were at the store waiting for pick up and when I told her that I paid for shipping, she said she would call the store. She came back to me to say the products were back ordered and she did not know when they would be shipped. I insisted I wanted to know exactly when they were coming as it has been almost 2 months since I placed the order. She insisted she did not know and NOBODY else knew. I just had to wait. So now I do not know if I waiting for one month or three months. I am disappointed that such a company would give such poor service.

The store manager suggested using their installers for my laminate flooring. It will be quick (2-3 days) and stress free they said. I wouldn't have to do anything they said. So I paid a huge amount of money for their installers to come out on Dec. 26th. The 1st day they laid a 5ft strip down in the den and left. They spent around 4 hours lookin at the two (2) steps trying to figure out how to cover them. They finally said I needed to buy 2 stair treads. The next day they laid a partial floor in every room but one. They cut the floors too short on half and walked off the job. *** came out (after numerous calls to the store and RWFlooring and tool my stair treads. He said he would do the stairs for free and be back Saturday. No show. After more calling and cancellations they finally sent *** (the only person that knew how to install a laminate floor. He did excellent work). He finished on Jan 29th. Customer care never followed up and the floor manager said the stair treads I bought were damaged. None of them would compensate me for my time troubles aggravation or my damaged property

Ongoing customer service issues as well as issues accepting our warranty.
We first purchased our new flooring on August 14, 2017. When we got the flooring home we noticed as opening the boxes some of the flooring was already damaged. We proceeded using these broken pieces as end pieces against the wall. During installation we noticed the pieces were cracking and creating a lot of waste, we still continued thinking that once locked in they would become stronger. More than halfway done with the floor and cracks started occurring as we were walking on the already finished portion of the floor. Upon seeing this we stopped installing and contacted their customer service about our 50 year warranty. We initially only asked for store credit for the amount that we paid for the new flooring even though it was our time that was wasted installing it. We were offered only *** store credit which is half the cost of the flooring to replace the boards that were already damaged. We explained that the floor is simply cracking when being walked on and installing more of the same flooring would not solve the issue. We were then treated very rudely and sent an email stating that these cracks and chips were installation related, without even seeing the floor, due to the use of a mallet and or tapping block. We replied informing them that no mallet or tapping block was used during installation and that the damage did not occur until after the floor was installed. An inspection was then ordered by Lumber Liquidators to further investigate this issue, while the inspector was here he opened one of our unopened boxes of flooring and took pictures of of the boards that were broken despite being still in the box. Next we received an email from them stating the following, "On the day of the inspection, the floor was found to be out of flat and locked in at the kitchen cabinets. These installation deviations will contribute to the cracking and broken planks observed on the day of inspection. The planks are not laying flat and can cause damage to the tongue and groove when put into service." We have picture proof that the flooring is not locked in with the cabinets. Further, we were not provided with the actual inspection report. We are requiring a refund, not store credit, at this point and will be contacting them to give us a copy of the actual inspection report.

Desired Outcome

We are asking for a refund of the flooring at this point, as we do not trust this company to back up their warranties or provide appropriate customer service.

LL Flooring Response • Jan 17, 2018

Dear Mr.,

We thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. I have reviewed your file and according to the inspection (attached), your issues are installation related due to the floor was found to be out of flat and locked in at the kitchen cabinets ( no expansion space). A minimum 1/2" expansion space must be placed between the flooring and all vertical obstructions (walls, door jams,
pipes, staircases, posts, fixtures, built-ins, etc.). This was not the case on day of inspection.

With that being said, a store credit is what we can offer.

Not satisfied. The inspector was hired by lumber liquidators and had false information and left out pictures showing the product was even damaged in the unopened boxes of product.

4 Hour Late Delivery. Not A Single Phone Call. Damaged Product. *** Delivery Fee. Had To Unload Myself.
First Time Buyer.

I bought about *** worth of hardwood form the Mukilteo location, and was told it was going to be delivered between 12-2pm on 1/5/18.

I work early in the morning, so I have to leave work to make sure I was there from 12-2.

3pm - Haven't received my product, or a phone call. I have to call the delivery folks and ask what's going on. First question is if there's a preferred delivery time....yeah....from 12-2, like I was originally told. Get the quick brush off, and told they will be there in about an hour. Already an hour AFTER the final delivery time given.

4pm - No product, and no phone call from anyone. I have to call again, and get another run around. Told another hour.

5:30pm - No product, no phone call. I call one last time and inform them if they are not here by 6pm, they can just go ahead and cancel everything.

The truck finally arrives at 6pm. 4 hours late. Not a single phone call.

The truck driver, is all by himself. Told me that the other guy was fired this morning, and was told just to do it by himself.

The Bellevue location loaded 3k lbs on one pallet, and didn't even level the pallet. They put the pallet all the way to the right.

The driver tried for 25 mins, to move the thing an inch and couldn't. He also couldn't even raise the pallet with the hand jack, because the pallet was so far to the right, it just kept tipping to the left.

I had to get on the truck, and try to counter balance the stack with my body weight, while the driver tried to get another pallet under it. We were finally able to and had to INCH it to the lift gate. Once we got close enough to the lift gate, the driver was literally off the truck & on the ground, pulling on the hand lift, while I am literally on top of the product, trying to hold on while he's pulling.

You know dangerous this is??

We FINALLY (after about 45 mins) were able to lower the lift gate.....and boom...back to stage one. The driver COULD NOT MOVE the pallet.

We had to unload all 3k lbs in the rain, and hand carry it all into my garage. After this, I found a destroyed box. The weight just broke this box, fell apart, all the wood was damaged. I haven't even checked the remainder of the boxes that were at the bottom of the load.

I am *** off.

I call the store and am told the manager will be calling me first thing in the morning of 1/6/18.

1/6/18 @ 1pm - Not a single phone call. I call AGAIN, and the manager never even received my messages. I am so freaking disgusted with this company.

He asked if I can just keep the product, and get a refund for the box. Are you kidding me? I paid thousand of dollars for a product, that you charged me *** to get 4 hours late, unload myself, and be damaged!

He tells me that he will call me no later than Monday (1/8/17), on how they are going to make this better.

They open at 8am, I will be watching the clock, and waiting for a phone call.

Desired Outcome

Minimum - Delivery fee paid for. Money reimbursed for leaving work. Product paid for. Free install.

LL Flooring Response • Jan 10, 2018

This review is regarding the location at 942 Blossom Hill Rd, San Jose, CA. The professionalism of the manager (***) is inappropriate. When I visited the store for the first time, she apologized for the wait time but explained that she just fired everyone because they were eating pizza in the back. Another time, her 2 kids were running around the store...again, a long wait time. I special ordered a product in July, and as of today (11/26), I still haven't received them nor despite several calls, they can't tell me when they will arrive. My contractor is waiting for the product to finish the job. I've escalated to the Region Mgr (***), but he doesn't return my calls. I've called the Corporate Customer Service line multiple times to get an update on my product or to see if they can get *** to call me, but they don't reply back either. In short, terrible customer service. My contractor is recommending all of his clients to use the Lumber Liquidator location near the airport. There is a "*** H" whose job is to reply back to all negative complaints on yelp, etc. with a standard reply back...but don't want to waste anymore of my time..so I'm just going to lose money, and buy the product elsewhere.

I paid the required fee to have my home measure for a new floor with the Store in Fairview Heights IL. After making the purchase and picking up materials then a installation was scheduled. When the installer came to do installation I was told that there was too much moisture in my home coming from the crawl space but they proceeded in pulling up the carpet in one of my rooms to find out that they could not lay the laminate that I bought. When I inquired about how was this not addressed before hand then I was told that a moisture reading was on the paper work when the guy came to do the measurement. WELL IT WASNT. He never asked if I had a crawl space nor did he ever use a meter to measure for moisture. Now I have a room tore up in my home right before my Thanksgiving. I was told that they would give me a good price on a water resistant vinyl and that I could be installed 2 days later on a Friday and Sat. I made the exchange for the new flooring just to learn that the installer never agreed to come out on Friday or Sat. After going back and forth and being called a lair stating that I told some that I didn't want a weekend appt. (which was so far from the truth) then asked for a refund on the installation fees .Then I got the call stating oh yeah we can come this morning and do your floor. Well now I don't have the correct molding / transition pieces for the new flooring that I exchanged for. The new transitions are not due in for a another week. So they wanted to pull up more carpet and complete PART OF THE JOB guess like this was going to make me happy. NO THANK YOU !! I placed this order in October . November is near ending and no floor installed yet. Very bad business with the store sales person telling me one thing . The installer boss telling me another thing and then the actual installer texting me another thing with a installation date for first week of Dec. I am too though with this place and which I had never started doing business with them. Don't know how this is going to turn out but I have been greatly inconvenienced right before the holiday which is now cancelled at my home. Had some one done there job right from the beginning then this all could have been avoided. The are the floor experts . I was depending on there expertize but the failed me . I just would like to have my money back for the installation at this time. Don't want to deal with this anymore . Very frustrating

Do yourself a favor and shop at a big box store like Lowes, Home Depot, Menards etc. for laminate flooring...!!! My wife and I recently built a home and cut a deal with the builder where we did approximately 30+% of the work. One item in our scope was ALL of the flooring. We decided on laminate, and chose LL, for two reasons - (1) they had a color that was the closest to what we wanted and (2)*** they said that they would PROVIDE A REFUND FOR ANY UNUSED PRODUCT. We were told by several store managers at several LL store locations that if we had product left over, we would be refunded our money as long as it wasnt damaged. Well folks I am here to tell you that is an OUT AND OUT """LIE"""..!!! After arguing with the store manager (in front of customers) for over an hour, the manager of the Newark Delaware location, contacted corporate LL , who in turned allowed for a ""credit"" of the product returned. Come on guys - what in God's name are we going to do with a credit in hundred of dollars, now that we have built a brand new home...!??!?!??! Give me a break...! Ohhh, I could list it on Craig's list or ebay and get pennys on the dollar. You would think with ALL OF THE BAD PUBLICITY that lumber liquidators received from the CDC regarding the risk of cancer from formaldehyde in flooring being three times higher than they originally thought due to off gases that LL would bend over backwards, to save their name and reputation. Well I am here to tell you that is not the case. DO NOT BUY FLOORING FROM LUMBER LIQUIDATORS, IF YOU ARE HOPING TO RETURN ANY UNUSED PACKAGES...!! So much is this statement true that - we had much better luck at Floor and Decor on unused product that we returned to them for other floors in our home AND it was well after the 90 day period. I hope the CEO , CFO and others of corporate Lumber Liquidators see this message, I doubt however as you sit in your ivory towers, collecting your excessive salaries that you will do anything about this. MY HOPE however is that this post and several others I will make - will place a dent in your business, and have shoppers looking elsewhere for their flooring needs...!

LL Flooring Response

Good Morning Mr.

I went to the LL in Perrysburg, Ohio. I shopped for a time but decided on a Bamboo Floor. My sales lady and I discussed 4 different floors. I settled on. Click together morning star. LL supplied my contractor with a Nailnor glue down version of the floor we ordered. It was installed for the wrong application. So now it will Gail and must be torn out and re-installed at my expense. LL offered to discount the floor $200, as I am looking at a $4,000 bill for the rest-do. Had LL supplier me with the correct floor, this would have never happened. You

I went to the store in Orange, CT and wanted to take some samples home. I was charged $51.00 to take home this few very small samples. I paid cash for this transaction. I went back to the store the next day to return the samples and was told I would have to wait 3-5 weeks for my refund. I was never told this when I made the cash purchase and their is no sign stating this anywhere in the store. I was told they did not have the cash to give me my refund. Needless to say I will never do business there.

LL Flooring Response

Dear Mr.

Thank you for contacting us. I do apologize for your disappointing experience with the Milford, CT store. Our samples are free in store with the exception of the large samples, which you received.

Your feedback will be shared with the Regional Manager over the Milford store, as well as, the SVP of Store Operations, for business improvement opportunities.

We would like to encourage you to consider giving us another opportunity to earn your business. As a tangible expression of our regret that you had such a disappointing experience, we have issued you a $50.00 store credit. The store credit will not expire and can be used at any of our stores. To access the credit you will just need to reference cr XXXXXXX or your name and the store can retrieve the credit to apply towards your purchase.

We thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We hope to have another opportunity to service your flooring needs in the future. Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.

Beware, these two companies work together to legally drain your wallet

Lumber liquidators + Synchrony bank (They deserve zero stars)

This is what happened to me, I wanted to buy a $12,000 very nice wood floor. Lumber liquidators offered me 18 months credit line at 0% apr with Synchrony bank. I signed a credit line contract, but there was a catch, and I was not warned of it, usury clauses!!! Because of that, the floor cost me $15,600 instead $12,000.

Beware! If you sign a contract with usury clauses and high interest rates, the law will not protect you from usury, I didn't expect this bad treatment as their customer, neither not to be protected by law, but it is true, my mistake, learn from my experience.

After 18 months, the debt balance was $2,000. And I was expecting to pay in full in 4 months more. but here came the bad news! they charged $3,600 more for not paying the whole credit on time, 30% of the whole floor value, even though it was almost paid.

I called to lumber liquidators, Synchrony Bank without any solution, then I called and Revdex.com. The representative told me that there is nothing I can do, because I signed the credit contract, the only thing is to post my review to warn future victims. Here I am.

Good Selection... Decent Prices.... but clowns working the front counter.

Three different companies installed three different types of flooring in our new house.... the other two shook their heads when I told them I went to this Lumber Liquidators to buy my wood. Now I see why. I bought bamboo flooring from here to install in the entire downstairs area... 60 boxes of wood, roughly $5,000.00 worth. We were given different amounts of time to let the wood acclimate before installing.... we were told at least 3 weeks..., 3-4 weeks preferably to be safe because it was a really thick wood. The staff told us stories of how people don't let the wood acclimate properly and then they have problems, to which Lumber Liquidators can't help because they didn't follow the proper installation. So we let ours sit for 4 weeks.... had it installed, which took a week or so to complete. We were encouraged by Irving *** to order at least 10% extra to make sure we had enough because we could return the amount not used. Of the 60 boxes ordered, we ended up with 4 unused boxes of wood to return. 4 boxes! $300 worth!!!! I went to return them and Irving told me they couldn't accept the return because we were past the 30 day return window. WHAT? Him nor any of them said anything about a 30 day return window. He then points to the small print in the paperwork and with an attitude says "Hey... it's says it right there in black & white". I said "How are we supposed to make a 30 day return window when you recommend that the wood acclimate for 30 day?" He said sorry... nothing he could do. I asked to speak to his manager. He told me the manager was supposed to be in an hour ago but wasn't in yet. I asked if he could call the manager to find out what time he would be in.... Irving told me that he didn't have his manager's number because he lost his cell phone with the number in it. Apparently... the manager's phone number isn't written down anywhere in that entire place, or so he would have me to believe. Irving told me that he would have the manager call me as soon as he got in. Three hours later and still no call.

At that point I just called the corporate office and dealt with them. They refunded me the $300 within a few days. Thankfully, the corporate office was better to deal with. The Santa Clarita, CA location has horrible customer service. I don't have time for *** games... and I don't appreciate Irving's attitude. I don't know if I'll ever use Lumber Liquidators again, but if I do.... I will NEVER go to this location again. I recommend using someone else... or at the very least... drive to another location.

Customer Response

Thank you for your time and for the credit.

I went to lumber liquidators to look at flirting options and was sold on the 100% bamboo flooring by the sales representative. I placed a $500.00 deposit down to lock in the current sales price. I made the arrangements for the installer to take measurements and when he arrived he explained to me that it's a very low end product and don't do well in southeast Texas. With his advice I decided to cancel my order and felt as if the store told me bad information to just get the sale. I had paid in cash when I placed the order and when I went to cancel my order was told by the store that it would take 3-5 weeks to get my money back from the corporate office. I called today which is a little over 3 weeks into the wait and it's not even been processed yet. I was told by the Corperate office that it takes 4-6 weeks not 3-5 and that I would need to call back around the time of the 4th week to find out if it had been processed yet.
I wouldn't do business with these folks ever again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.
I feel like I was told misleading information about the product from the store and can't understand how they can take your money immediately but expect you to to wait 4-6 weeks to have it returned.

DO NOT, DO NOT purchase anything from this company. This store has a good selection of floors and at times offers very good sales. The staff was friendly and seemed knowledgable about their products but clueless about installation. So they referred us to their "top installer" and that they were recommending him VERY highly. Purchasing from this store and chain has been our biggest regret. We purchased flooring for our whole house, 2,000 sf and went with their recommended installer, Mario *** Installation was two weeks behind schedule since he kept taking other jobs that "should've taken less time" but didn't. This made us feel like we were not a priority. The one week installation that we were told turned into a three week nightmare with one thing after another going wrong. Our vacation plans were ruined. The major headache during the installation was that the installer didn't measure right and we had to continually go back to the store to buy more material. A week after the installation was completed, some of the boards started to noticably shift. I called Mario, the installer and he would not return my phone calls. Six months later, I finally got a hold of him and we scheduled for him to come see the floors. He sent his son, a want to be installer, and he said that yes that the boards needed to be fixed and would tell his dad. We called and called to no avail. We finally got a hold of him and we scheduled for him to come out to make the repairs. He was a no show and has not returned any of our calls for the last 6 months. Finally called Lumber Liquidators, and they would not accept any responsibility for the installation, even though the installer was an approved LL installer. Called corporate office and they basically said the same thing. Lumber Liquidators basically does not want to stand behind their product. The bottom line is that once you purchase any material from them that you are on your own and there really are no warranties. Lumber liquidators does not stand behind their product and installation and this is coming from both corporate and the Santa Clarita store. I do not recommend that you purchase anything from this or any other LL location.

Our installers, especially Edgar, worked very hard and did a great job. I love my new floors. Even my daughter likes my floors better than hers.

One of the worst companies ever. Too much to list just stay away. Non existent customer service, poor product, and unhealthy. Google class action lawsuit or health concerns
