Actually, this order was not placed online -- it was done by phone.
 
[redacted] called to order "[redacted]" ([redacted]) DVD collection from [redacted]. After that order was placed, that representative made our offer to [redacted], and she accepted. This was on...

December 14, 2013.
 
She asked the following question: "Will they charge me tonight?" (answer was no, because there is a 30 day free trial)
She was read the toll free number twice and wrote it down the first time it was read. She was told about our monthly billing. She typed in the last 4 numbers of her card as a digital signature when asked. She furnished all 16 digits of her full credit/debit card number when asked. 
 
On December 24, 2013 we mailed her a welcome kit that serves as an order confirmation and also details billing frequencies and amounts. It also contained the information on how to claim the gift card and cash back. We mailed this envelope First Class [redacted] to ensure delivery but also to require the post office to return it to us if it could not be delivered. It was not returned.
 
[redacted] has already sought refund from her bank and has succeeded for three of the six charges and we believe this should be more than sufficient. There have been multiple opportunities for this customer to call us to cancel. Each charge contains our toll free number right beside the charge. Instead, the customer went to her bank and asked for a "chargeback" which not only reverses the charges but also imposes an extra fee on us. Again, there were multiple times for this customer to contact us before being billed for six months.
 
She is free to contact us if she wants to hear the recording. It's about 5-6 minutes long.

[redacted] I don't accept the business response because I still think it's an unethical practice. It's businesses like this that give customers a bad taste for doing business on line or on phone.
I am willing however to accept the refund I got from my card, and hope to never hear from these unethical people again. [redacted]
