Luma Belle Reviews (%countItem)

These people are a scam. I was reading the news online one day around a month ago and there is a snip of a video advertising a "miracle" cream that works wonders and bags and wrinkles go away under your eye within a few minutes. The video starts and a lady had a dollup of some creamy substance on her finger that she says is this LumaBelle skin cream. There is no product in the picture, all you have to go on is her word. And she keeps talking and sure enough in a few min the bags and wrinkles were gone. So I was like, sure, I would like to try that! The ad was for a trial offer for around 5 bucks. There were no boxes explaining that it was anything more than that. Another window pops up quickly about the eye serum. I didn't know I was choosing two separate products. I thought I was buying one trial package for around 5 bucks. I looked on my bank statement and I had been charged twice, one for the cream, and one for the serum. So I was like, well, which one was that the lady smeared all over her face the cream or the serum? I began to get suspicious at that point, but I was like, hey, for 10 bucks, its still worth a try...maybe.
Flash to a couple weeks later and I try to use my debit card and cant. I go to look at my statement and I had been charged $89.92 to these crooks. I sent them an email and they said sorry for my confusion, if I would like my account canceled, they would cancel it but hate to see me go. I'm like, what account, I purchased a trial sample, end of story. Oh no, this was not the end of the story.
So I emailed them back and said, that's great, that's wonderful, whatever, but right NOW, I want my $89.92 back, PLEASE, because they have misunderstood me somehow, I did not see a check box, any fine print, NOTHING, stating I was in for anything other than a trial. Well, their response was that that issue could not be handled via email and to please call one of their friendly customer support staff for further assistance. At this point, there is still no explanation as to what the heck is going on. I called the number, waited on hold 15 min, got a rep on the phone who said the only way a refund could be issued was with my bank on the phone. Well, this would be good to know from the two emails I just received, thanks, so I hung up. I got my bank on the phone ( I had called earlier that morning explaining I wanted to file a dispute and that this was an unauthorized charge) and got this stupid company on the phone as well. The company guy went into his spiel and said that I signed up for a two week trial and at the end of the two weeks, if I had not cancelled, I would be charged 89 bucks apiece for the cream that I ordered and also 89 bucks for the "eye serum" that they took it upon themselves to tack on for me. The only follow up correspondence via email I received, and every business does it these days, was stating I ordered the cream and the serum, my order number and when it would be shipped. There was NOTHING about Be sure to cancel if you dont want to be charged or ANYTHING, in that email. And there was NEVER another one. I told him, I did not check any box, or see any fine print, etc. Well, after going back and forth, he so generously offered to give me his "employee discount" as a refund, at 60% of the amount charged to my card, in EXCHANGE for me to agree NOT to pursue the matter any further, and release them from liability for this occurrence. They KNOW they are scamming people. In my case, they got 30 buck out of me. From reading other complaints, they got 100% from some, and 80% from others. These people are dipping into peoples bank accounts and pulling their hands back and taking whatever they can get away with. My guess is they will do this for a set amount of time, I noticed the first complaints starting here at the Revdex.com around August, then when the heat gets too hot (Their products are BUNK. I bet if they were analyzed we are getting no more than Ponds cold cream, IF THAT) they get out of the kitchen and begin with the next cooked up scheme. Shame shame SHAME on these people. Thank goodness for the Revdex.com who follow up with these people and ask for proof of their product and make their activity known thru complaints and reviews visible to the public.
I just cannot believe that these people can operate like this for very long, it must be stopped. it has wasted my money, and time out the wazoo of myself, my bank, and this fine organization.
Beware people, research before you buy, always! And if you have got charged by these people, please don't let them get away with it. You will have to spend some time on the phone dealing with them, but what they are doing is illegal, and they know it. You have all the right and theyre all wrong. Let them know it. You can get all of your money back, it will just take time. Thank you

Ordered a free trial (paying only $4.95 shipping) but was later charged $90 and told the terms were clear in the ad, but they were not.
I followed an online ad for a free trial of face cream for only $4.95 shipping. Ordered on 9/27 and received the product. I noticed on 10/26 that my credit card had been charged back on 10/12 an additional $89.92. I carefully reviewed the emails sent to me by the company (confirming my original order and confirming the shipping,) and also scoured the internet again for the ad I had originally followed, and also visited their website (which is not where the original ad had taken me) to look for evidence that perhaps I had missed some disclaimer that I would owe this money after the fact, but there is NO TRACE of it. I called the company and told them there was no mention in the offer I followed that I was going to be charged more money. It was then that the rep informed me the ad "clearly stated" that I was ordering a 14-day trial and would be charged the full price if I did not return the cream within the 14-day period. ALSO, during this conversation, it became apparent that I had enrolled in a monthly membership with this company and would be continually charged more money and shipped more product every month! (NO evidence of this either!) I continued to insist that this ad mentioned nothing of this and it's not what I agreed to, and she kept insisting that the ad was clear. I also kept demanding that she produce for me the ad that supposedly said this, because if I just wasn't paying attention then I would certainly be willing to take responsibility. She said "we have many ads out there and I have no way of knowing which offer you found..." I then told her, "how about ANY of them?" She kept repeating, over and over, that I didn't qualify for a refund because I was past the 14-day trial period. After I persisted, she said that "as a courtesy" she would be willing to cancel my membership and "wave" the $20 cancellation fee! I made it clear that I expected my membership be canceled immediately and without charge. And that I also must insist on a full refund. We went around and around for 20 minutes until she finally said that as a courtesy she would offer me a 25% refund. I told her that was not acceptable and that it was time I speak to someone in higher authority than her. She then warned me that if she passed me on to a manager, the manager might not be willing to offer me the 25% discount, and I told her I'd take my chances. I then went around and around with the "manager" for another 20 minutes, in essentially the same loop; I kept demanding she show me evidence of the supposed clear terms and conditions I agreed to and she couldn't; I then said, "Are you trying to tell me that if I sue you over this, you have no evidence to produce over this?" She mentioned something about their audit department having this info. I asked to be put in touch with them but she said they wouldn't supply this info to me. She progressed until finally she got to offering me a 60% refund, which I told her I did want, but that it was still my intention to pursue my complaint further. She kept repeating, over and over, "but will this settle the account for you?" (clearly trying to trick me, perhaps into agreeing I was satisfied with that remedy.) I think I finally answered that "well clearly you think this will settle things, but my complaint is not over." I finally received a 60% refund of $53.97 on my credit card on 10/27. I must absolutely insist that they refund me the remaining $35.95 that they took from me without my permission, this place is obviously a scam. If there was fine print anywhere in that ad explaining this, it was clearly hidden in order to deceive customers.

Desired Outcome

I want a full refund of the remaining $35.95 they have not yet refunded to me. I will absolutely accept nothing less, and even if the Revdex.com cannot secure this for me, I intend to pursue this remedy to the end. Companies like this continue to act this way because they rely on consumers giving up. (Also, I see many others describing this same problem with the company- clearly they have poor advertising practices, and should be made to STOP DOING THIS.)

Luma Belle Response

The customer, ***, signed up for our free 14 day trial for the Lumabelle Skin Cream on 09/27/2017 in which she paid $4.99 for shipping and handling to receive the product. In order for the customer to process the order, they have to click a box to agree to the terms and conditions on the website. The 14 day free trial then expired on 10/11/2017 and as it was agreed upon in the terms and conditions, the customer purchased the trial bottle of the Skin Cream for $89.92. On 10/26/2017, the customer called in requesting to cancel the account. The program and charges were fully explained to the customer. As a courtesy, we issued a refund of $53.97 because the customer must've misunderstood the program and we sincerely apologize. On 11/3/2017, one of our managers attempted to contact the customer but was only able to leave a voicemail. We understand that the customer was not fully satisfied so we issued the remaining refund in the amount of $35.95. The customer is not required to return the product. The customers account has been completely cancelled as of 10/26/2017 so she doesn't receive another billing or shipment from our company. We kindly request that the customer call back and speak to one of our customer service representatives for any further concerns and we would be more than happy to assist the customer. Our main toll free number is: XXX-XXX-XXXX and our business hours are from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM EST Monday through Friday and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. Thank you for your cooperation.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I am satisfied, for my own sake, that my money was refunded. However, their response fails to acknowledge the reason for the complaint in the first place (and that others should be spared this practice!) which was that the ad prompting my purchase did NOT make clear the terms of the purchase or the ongoing agreement. We are all well aware of the common "terms and conditions" check-box that follows a great deal of fine print that often accompanies new products and services. We do NOT, however, expect that AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF THE AGREEMENT is only located therein. Bottom line is, if your ad layout is such that people could easily overlook such a provision, but you hope this will happen simply so you can them into buying your product without realizing it and bolster your sales, then THIS IS AN UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICE. Your website does not reflect any of the realities of these promotions, likely purposefully. I asked two of your representatives several times to show me what it was that I agreed to, and you could not. You are relying on trickery, to make money, not the merit of your own product. Shame on you.

Called them today to cancel my "free" trial. Was told I have to pay a restocking fee of $25 for the "trial" product and send them back the product.
Their advertising does not state anywhere a restocking fee or having to ship the product back.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking that they clearly state their return policy and that the trial product is not "free" other than shipping and handling. That you will have to pay a restocking fee and ship the product back to them.

In order for the customer to process the order, they have to click a box to agree to the terms and conditions on the website. On 10/26/2017, the customer called in and requested to cancel her account. Normally, the products would have to be returned when customers are cancelling within the 14 day trial period. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences. charged for a product I did not order
I purchased a product and the company billed me after the fact for a product I did not order. The customer service rep hung up on me.

Desired Outcome

This company is a fraud. I had to call and cancel my credit card from the fraudulent charges they made.

Luma Belle Response

The customer, ***, signed up for our free 14 day trial for the Lumabelle Skin Cream and Lumabelle Eye Serum on 10/13/2017 in which she paid $4.95 and $4.99 for shipping and handling to receive the products. In order for the customer to process the order, they have to click a box to agree to the terms and conditions on the website. Our company never offered free samples but offered a full 30 day supply for a 14 day free trial period. The 14 day free trial then expired on 10/26/2017 and as it was agreed upon in the terms and conditions, the customer purchased the trial bottle of the Skin Cream for $89.92 and was supposed to purchase the Eye Serum for $84.95. So that left a remaining balance of $84.95 for the trial bottle of the Eye Serum. On 10/27/2017, the customer called in requesting to cancel the account. As a courtesy, we offered to waive that remaining balance of $84.95 and offered a 25% refund with a free shipment and the customer declined. The account has been completely cancelled as of 10/27/2017 so the customer won't receive another shipment or transaction from our company. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences. We kindly request that the customer call back and speak to one of our customer service representatives for any further concerns and we'll be more than glad to assist the customer regarding the account. Our main toll free number is: 844-608-5127 and our business hours are from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM EST Monday through Friday and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. Thank you for your cooperation.

I purchased the product during an advertised " Free trial" . I did read the fine print and called to cancel within 14 days because it does not work any better that a $10 face cream. I was told they would need to charge me the retail price of $89.95 because the fine print also stated that the effects improve over time, and I did not try it for 30 days. So their definition of "Free" is that within the fine print, the consumer pays retail price no matter what. That is a scam box if I have ever seen one.

Company policy in relations to free trial was not clear to customer and large charges occurred without customer knowledge.
I saw an ad on Facebook regarding this product being the best skin care product on the market and that it was used by so many celebrities. I authorized my credit card to pay $4.95 for shipping to receive this trial product. Once I received the two trial samples, I was not even able to use the eye cream as the pump was broken. So, I was never even able to try the product and the next thing you know, I received two charges on my credit card. One for $89.92 and one for $84.95. Given the fact that I never authorized them to charge my card with these amounts AND the fact that I couldn't even use it because it was broken, I called their customer service. I was told that I authorized the order by ordering this "Trial" and that if I didn't cancel by 10/18/17 (This is only 12 days after I ordered the sample), I had to pay these amounts. When I asked if I could return the products and explained that it never even worked so I couldn't try the product, I was told that they could give me 25% off and will ship a replacement product to me. I told them that this was unacceptable as I never authorized these charges. They would not budge. They did cancel my so called "membership" and said that they will give me the 25% off but when I pushed to say that this is not right, they hung up on me. I tried going back to Facebook to see if I could see their advertisement again to read the fine print but it was nowhere to be found. IF they had a disclaimer on there that you must cancel your "membership" within 12 days, it was not very clear to the customer. I am extremely upset by this and would like for something to happen to this company who is clearly taking advantage of people. It is a terrible scam!

Desired Outcome

I would like to return this "Trial" sample and get my money back.

In order for the customer to process the order, they have to click a box to agree to the terms and conditions on the website. Our company never offered free samples but offered a full 30 day supply for a 14 day free trial period. The 14 day free trial then expired on 10/19/2017 and as it was agreed upon in the terms and conditions, the customer purchased the trial bottle of the Skin Cream for $89.92 and $84.95 for the Eye Serum. On 10/25/2017, the customer called in requesting to cancel the account. The program and charges were fully explained to the customer. A courtesy refund of 25% and a complimentary shipment has been offered due to the confusion and the customer declined. One of our managers contacted the customer later that day and came to a mutual agreement of 50% of each transactions being refunded to the customer. The account has been completely cancelled as of 10/25/2017 so the customer won't receive another shipment or transaction from our company. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences. I saw luma belles ad on Facebook and was really excited to try this product especially at just $4.95 for shipping and handling. I ordered the moisturizer then another ad popped up for the under eye serum for the same price, just $4.95 shipping and handling. Need I remind you as well, this also said 14 free trial. Key word FREE! Nothing about this was free. It says you must cancel within 14 days or you will be automatically set up for month to month renewal. This was in the terms that you must pull up on your own to read. I saw this and so I called to cancel after just a few days of receiving it. So I was well within my 14 days. They had the nerve to then ask me how would I like to take care of the charges of my account. Excuse what?? She said yes ma'am you owe for the moisturizer and the under eye serum. I said why is that, I called within the 14 days. They told me yes ma'am you did but you also received the full portion of our product and so you owe for that. I said no I sure do not. No where on your website said anything about that. I said I have cancelled within my 14 days and she told me that I was cancelling any future subscription. I said oh no I am not paying for something that was supposed to be a free trial. I said where is the trial then. I said if this is the case that y'all are goin to bill people either way even if they cancel within the 14 days then why not just put on your website they will be charged $175 for both products not to mention the extra shipping and handling. I told her I would return the unused product and she said they could not refund me if I did this because they don't give refunds. I said oh no, you not giving me a refund because I'm not Giving you a dime so there will be nothing to refund. I told them they were nothing but a bunch of scammers and it's sad that they have to mislead and straight up lie to people to get money from them instead of having a legit product that people actually want to buy and the product does the work for them. I told them they have false advertisement and that their company should be shut down. I told the poor girl I talked to as well that I'm sorry and I bet she hates her job cause I'm sure she gets customers calling in furious all the time because they are a crooked company and ain't nothing but a bunch of scammers. Needless to say they did not charge me a dime because I did not back down but she sure tried hard to tell me I owed but I knew better than that. I can't believe this company still is allowed to run a business. They honestly need to be shut down!

will not refund money 2 hours after placing order and the Customer service rep hung up on me twice. Refused to close my account unless I paid more
I purchased a cream and eye serum from Luma Belle this Morning before I saw the bad reviews. I also had no idea I was signing up to be billed monthly. The customer service rep
Refused to cancel my order, close my account, and refund my money when I called only 2 hours later to cancel. She said that in order to close my account, I would also have to pay an additional $35 and change for for both the products because the product isn't free. I can understand non refundable shipping and handling costs, even though it's highly unlikely they had even processed my order yet, but to force me to pay additional costs to cancel is wrong especially when I don't want the product and haven't even received it. The customer service rep also hung up on me twice intentionally and kept repeating herself. I called back both times because my situation had not been rectified. I ended up paying the $35 and change for product that I'll never use because I had to just to cancel the account. I told her if they were honest they would sell more product. They wouldn't have to scam people out of their money.

Desired Outcome

Full refund of the trials and the $35 and change

The customer, ***, signed up for our free 14 day trial for the Lumabelle Skin Cream and Lumabelle Eye Serum on 10/21/2017 in which she paid $4.95 and $4.99 for shipping and handling to receive the products. In order for the customer to process the order, they have to click a box to agree to the terms and conditions on the website. The customer called in later that day to cancel the order. Unfortunately, the products have already been processed with USPS at that time. In order to cancel the trial, the products had to be returned with a small cost of restocking fee. Instead of going through the hassle of sending back the products, we offered the customer a one time payment of $35.97 to keep both products. The account has been cancelled as of 10/21/2017 so the customer doesn't receive another shipment or transaction from our company. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences. We kindly request the customer to call back for any further concerns and one of our customer service representatives will be more than glad to assist the customer. Our main toll free number is: XXX-XXX-XXXX and our business hours are from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM EST Monday through Friday and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. Thank you for your cooperation.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The statement that the company provided is false. I placed the order before they opened and cancelled it when they opened. I was never told that it had been sent. The representative was very rude and did not offer me the $35.95 deal to keep the products or call it a restocking fee. The words from her mouth were that I HAD to pay for the product in order to cancel the account to avoid any further billing because the product was not free. She repeated this multiple times and I repeatedly told her that I did not want the product shipped to my house that they could keep it. Like everyone else they scammed, she said there was no supervisor on duty for me to speak with and I also never saw the disclaimer that said I was signing up for a monthly trial. They are a known scamming company which is why I cancelled that morning to avoid further charges. I caught on to the scam after I received 3 potential scamming alerts from my bank and decided to do more research on this company. They also charged me an additional $19.95 under another name. They denied it but after further research I discovered the charge was in fact related. I'd also like to reiterate that I was told that they would not close my account unless I paid for the product at a discounted rate.

Luma Belle Response

We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences. The products get processed immediately after the order is placed. The representative the customer spoke to recommended that paying the one time fee of $35.97 was the best option due to the fact that our company has a 15% restocking fee and shipping and handling would be at the customer's expense to return the shipment. Our company does not charge $19.95 for any products. She must've mistaken us for another company.

Free sample not free and involuntarily enrolled in monthly product subscription. No refunds allowed without paying for "free sample".
I saw an advertisement for a free sample. I was looking into it and before I was able to complete the order, my screen froze; therefore I couldn't read any of the fine print before finalizing this order and also didn't realize that I would have to pay full price for the "free sample" and also would be enrolled in a monthly product subscription for over $100 monthly. When I received the shipment, I tried to return the unwanted sample (as I only was interested in trying a free sample) and she told me that I would have to pay for the product if I wanted to return it since they cannot resell or reuse it. I had not even opened the product and they refused to give me a refund! Not only this, but I was receiving about 10-15 phone calls the prior day telling me that I never completed my order, so I said, it's okay, I don't want to complete the order I was worried that the order went through since the screen froze on your site. It was not only annoying to receive so many calls during my work hours, but now I have to pay for a product that I never ordered really, because I couldn't read the information when the screen froze.

Desired Outcome

I would like to cancel this subscription without having to pay for what was advertised as a "free subscription" or pay for the return of the product if they want it back. I don't want to waste any more money on this falsely advertised product, disturbing customer service practices and horrible return policy.
