Merchant Industry Reviews (85)

Review: I cancelled my credit card processing account with them in august of 2015 and paid an Early Termination Fee of $2,000. In October of 2015 Merchant Industry billed my business checking account for a PCI compliance fee of $119.00 even though I had cancelled my processing account months before. I contact merchant industry several times by phone and email and they promised to process the refund. They said they did - but the money NEVER arrived. I have waited SINCE October to get a refund on the $119 (money they agree that they owe me and have promised to refund). At this point, my phone calls go unreturned and my emails unanswered.

I want a refund on the $119 they agree they owe me.Desired Settlement: I want my $119 back. Money they AGREE they owe me. This company also sent me to a collections agency over the $2,000 that I had already paid. Thank the lord I had all the proof I paid - otherwise this company would have continued to hound me.

Review: I cancelled my account about two years ago with Merchant Industry because they were charging 7-8% in monthly fees. We originally agreed on a 4% flat fee including everything: I have a Fax from them that confirms our agreement. When I found out they had been overcharging me for over a year I talked to one of the owners: he said he couldn't refund me. I cancelled the account via fax as per their request (I have the fax). After two months, they tried to withdraw money from my Bank account. Butt I was able to stop them. I called Merchant Industry again, and faxed them another cancellation request. After some pressure they sent me a fax confirmation that my account was closed. After few months Firts Data sent me a bill because my account was still open. I called First Data and they said they would fix it. As of today, October [redacted] 2015, Firts Data has called me again to collect a payment: I explained them again the situation, but they said they will send me another bill. On top of that, I received a Credit Alert from my personal Credit Monitoring Agency: when I checked the Alert I found out that Oxygen, a collection Agency, is trying to collect about one thousand dollars for the Credit Card Processing Machine that Merchant Industry gave me. I explained Oxygen Collection Agency that the Sales Rep told me at the time I signed a "No cancellation Fees agreement" that if I stayed with Merchant Services for more than a year the machine would become mine. For the record, I don't want the machine. I just , called Rex, the Sales representative that signed into with Merchant Services, to make him aware of the situation. He said over the phone: "I'm sorry, it's not my fault. I left them because they are robbing people there is nothing I can do. I'm sorry, please tell the business next door to be careful because they'll do it to him too!"

Today I called the LIC Partnership, the neighborhood development organization for Long Island City, and made them aware of the situation since Merchant Industry operates in their area. I have a meeting with them next week. I also contacted my Attorney to initiate a Civil Suit to make Merchant Industry accountable for the monetary and emotional damages I sufferd.Desired Settlement: Merchant Industry LLC should refund me for the extra fees ( I have proof). They should get in touch with First Data and explain them that my account was closed and I'm not responsible for any payment to them, and finallym they should call "Oxygen"and clear my case. Merchant Industry LLc has numerous complaints on the Web about their questionable operations, complaints now backed by a former employer. Merchant Industry Board member should call a meeting to honestry address this complaints and find ways to respond effectively to these issues.

They said that the sale person that signed me up was fired. On Monday I will send the equipment back. Please advise. Regards,[redacted]

Review: When we terminated service we were told to return credit card swipers to the main address " attention:. Yvonne". We sent these [redacted] tracking #[redacted] . They were delivered 11/**/2014. Merchant Industry made an unauthorized bank debit from our account for $495.00 for "un-returned credit card swipers". Review: I was called by Merchant Industry and asked if I wanted to apply for an account to process credit cards for my business. I applied and was told that I was approved, but no more information was given after that - I was not told that I was given an account, was not given an account number, was not told how to process cards or anything. The only way I knew that I had an account was that there was a $30 debit on my bank account from them. I called and asked them what this was for, and they said $5 was a monthy fee and $25 was a penalty as I hadn't used the account in a month. I had only applied two weeks before, so it was less than a month, plus they didn't even tell me I had an account! I called several times to get more information, once to speak with [redacted] who was the agent that signed me up (she didn't call back), then I spoke with [redacted], a manager, who said that I should have received information on the different processing programs they have. I said I would like to hear about them,

I was told that [redacted] ([redacted]s' supervisor) would call me back but no one has ever called. They also said they would refund the $30 but they haven't. At this point I want to cancel the account that was never properly set up in the first place, but I don't trust them to respond appropriately without official involvement.Desired Settlement: I would like me (fictional!) account with them cancelled, and no further debits against my bank account.

Response:

Yesterday I received a call from [redacted] at Merchant Industry. She seems like a nice person and was apologetic for not calling earlier. It sounds like they are short-staffed and not very well organized, the original person I spoke to could have directed me differently and I might have gotten better service. She also said if I send something in writing they will cancel my account. It sounds like a management issue - perhaps they are trying to maximize profits by not spending money on employees, but if so it's hurting them! So at this point I am hopeful that this will be resolved without further issue.many thanks,

Review: I applied for a cash advance and agreed to switch my credit card processing. I was told a lot of things that turned out not to be true. I told them my setup and that I needed 1 terminal and a gateway for my website. I repeatedly asked them the type of credit card terminal and how many credit card terminals. The reply I received over and over was, "we understand your business, you're fine". I went from no monthly fees for processing to $280/mo. I was told this would be an all inclusive fee (leasing machines, monthly fees, per transaction fees would also be included) and that service was cancel-able with a fee. The charge I pay would never go over this amount. They would also reimburse that fee for first 4 months. Later I got 3 credit card terminals and the gateway. I found out this was the $280 fee only, just the equipment, and that it was not a cancel-able lease for 4 years. They told me the processing is completely separate fees. I contacted [redacted], who I had been working with and told him that I wanted my lease corrected to what I needed, the 1 terminal and gateway. He agreed but it has now been two months and he avoids my calls. I did get a loan for and there weren't supposed to be any upfront fees but he sent all bet $25 saying he would send the rest when they paid the $280 the following month. I haven't received the $280 or $25 for loan (small amount but if I'm expected to pay it back they need to send it too. I didn't get the amount I was requesting originally and told him I would accept lease as is if they would be willing to fund what I was requesting. He agreed to that also. So far everything has been lies. In the last two months I have spoken to him maybe 3 times. I have been hung up on when I called, I have been transferred to voice mail boxes that are full. I've been told repeatedly that he will call me back and all to no avail.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to either redo the lease and get it down to the 1 terminal and gateway that I agreed to, release me from my processing agreement (including leasing agreement for the terminals, or fund the additional amount that I requested.
