I use Grasshopper to add a toll free number for my business to my local phone service The plan choices make it very affordable and are scalable according to my needs But honestly, the phone service is just a small part of the value Grasshopper provides their Happy Hoppers club to subscribers It provides the opportunity to be part of a community, business ideas, tips and fun ways to interact

I signed up for their solo plan of $a month Come to find out the company had been charging me double that amount every month I contacted their customer service department and they refused to refund any money
BEWARE OF GRASSHOPPER! I signed up with grasshopper for my business over a year ago and was told I could transfer my number to another service at any time That is falseGrasshopper makes it extraordinarily difficult,if not impossible to transfer your number Here is how they play the game:
You go to another service- (I tried to have the number transferred to T-Mobile) and they enter a porting request
The porting request fails because they say the account information doesn’t match (it did exactly as I read it letter for letter with spaces exactly as Grasshopper indicated it on the account in writing and have a picture of it entered properly at ***)Then Grasshopper tells you to call a person in their “porting department” However, they have conveniently outsourced their porting department to *** say they need a few days to create a CSR requestYou get a CSR request number but it doesn’t work
Grasshopper says they will resolve this and will transfer your account into their company name to make the transfer process easier Not, surprisingly that doesn’t work eitherIt has now been over months since the original,porting request was entered and no successful transfer In the interim my business is suffering and I am unable to have the number transferredI have multiple emails and correspondence in writing from grasshopper to support my claimsUnless you want to get Into this mess with them, Choose another business phone service such as Ring Central or just use the credible *** voice service as they have business features and it is free and they seem to honor their commitments
