Good Customer Service
Monterey Financial is tasked with collecting my yearly payment for Neskowin Creek RV Park so I can't speak to revolving account problems but I had trouble establishing my account on their website. When I called customer Service, Miley just set up my account instead of talking me through it and then she set up my yearly withdrawal. The wait time was short, Miley was efficient and helpful so I give the customer service department 5 stars.

Wish I would have paid closer attention. Buyer Beware!
I bought an item through a website that offered a short-term installment solution. I've used these in the past with a handful of companies without issue and never thought I would have one here. The item I purchased was around $600. My monthly installment was right around $60. I made my monthly payments regularly without giving it much thought. However, after awhile, I took notice that my outstanding balance was not reducing at a rate that one would consider normal. I then decided to take a closer look at the account and saw that in some cases, Monterey would apply %100 of the payment to interest. I then reached out to their customer service department and was bluntly told that was in the terms. Shame on me for not being more thorough in reviewing the terms. However, this companies practices are utterly predatory and unethical. Do not use them if you have other options.

Scamming company
Purchased a travel package while in Hawaii, after returning home and payments started this company would help themselves to more than what was owed monthly. I finally got so pissed off I paid them off and NEVER EVER want to hear of them again!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANYI PAID ACCOUNT OFF IN FULL WITHIN DAYSNOW DAYS LATER IT IS SHOWING UP ON MY CREDIT REPORT AS A BALANCE DUE WITH INTEREST ADDED TO ITTHIS HAS NEGATIVELY AFFECTED MY CREDIT SCOREAFTER SPEAKING TO THEM ON THE PHONE, THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS PAID OFF, BUT WAS STILL IN THE PROCESS OF BEING CLOSEDNOT GOOD FOR BUSINESS!!

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [I made the payment of to not incur more charges but that doesn't make anything satisfactoryThere wasn't a miscommunication in the store because she stated directly the first month payment is due up frontYou can't mistake that for anything elseI called a lot more than that and spoke with several different peopleYour log books are inaccurateAt the end of the day, it is extortion and you need to get the people at [redacted] on the same page as what I signed and initialed as you stated was not what I was told I was getting not what I would be paying backI was also told I was dealing with [redacted] to them turn around and have to deal with a completely different companyThere are several middle men and no one attempts to help in the resolutionI still feel I paid too much money to have a lease less than days when the original loan was $lessThat's not honoring the ninety daysThen to be told I needed to make a payment in April when again I was told the first payment was made in store, so payment should not have been made until MayI paid $more than the original loan amount and I had the lease/loan for less than daysI don't care how you define it to make yourself look good, it's not fair and it's not honoring the no interest if paid in full within the first days and if you say well it's days, it was paid in full in a month's time and I was still charged interestTherefore, your contract and all those initials were still fraudulent because you didn't honor thatI want the $I overpaid thinking I wouldn't be charged, refunded back to me and that would be satisfactoryAfter that, I will never affiliate myself with this company again] Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear be We have our credit card statement as well as I have the payment information from their website The contract was signed in August of and the first payment was September 25, 2015, when I asked the customer service rep about that payment she stated she do not know what happened to that payment She also stated that we were behind on January, Febuary, and March payment Now they stated we never paid November, December, and January Our credit card information was stolen inn December (have a letter from bank to confirm this information) we suspect someone from their company but have no proof because no one can explain where are our payments Once again if we were behind on payments [redacted] started in November why did they started calling us in January about missing payments (have cell phone records to prove this information) According to our credit reports they stated we were in gooding standing during the months they stated we were behind in payments; so which one is it were late on our payments or were we in good standing on our payments (have proof of that information as well)? According to our contract we have a grace period of days to make a payment before it is considered late $late fee, why are we charged a $60-late fee? Now as far as July payment it is not problem this company do not update their computer system because a payment was made on July 7, 2015, in the amount of $ We also have phone records to show they were calling us numerous times in a day even with paymets was taken from the credit card, I called the customer service rep stated the system automaticly calls when a payment was due over the weekend, but once again if the payment was automaticly draft why the harassment We are not agreeing to take this contract back to any date and paying any additional payments, they to explain where are our payments that was drafted from our credit card I have tried communicating with this company and did not get any results so any futher communication will be done through the Revdex.com or an attorney.Regards, [redacted]

On June 29, [redacted] placed a defaulted timeshare balance in the amount of $47,for [redacted] *** We mailed out the appropriate initial dunning notice On July 11, [redacted] called our office concerning the debt [redacted] claimed that the account was cancelled verbally and did not have any written proof of the account being cancelled We informed [redacted] that per the terms of the promissory note, the member may cancel within days following the execution of the contract by returning all related documentation received to the Member Services Representative and sending s written notice by certified mail, return receipt requested to [redacted] *** [redacted] claims that the account was cancelled verbally and that she would never pay on this account We marked the account as disputed per FDCPA policy [redacted] called back on July 13, 2016, still claiming the account was cancelled and that she will send an email with proof of the cancellation We then spoke with [redacted] and informed him that we needed proof of cancellation to resolve the account On July 15, [redacted] forwarded an email sent by [redacted] on Novemebr 27, that stated she was requesting to cancel since they had not sold her other timeshare as of yet We informed [redacted] that the email was not confirmation of cancelling the account as it was simply a request to cancel and the request was well outside of the day rescission period We received a cease and desist request from a legal representative attorney claiming to represent [redacted] on July 28, and thus will not be contacting [redacted] concerning this matter any further That being said, we have requested to verify with our client if the account was in fact cancelled as well as requesting a copy of the contract As of today we have not yet received the contract nor a response to the status of cancellation Since [redacted] do not have valid proof that the account was cancelled per the contract terms, the account will continue to report as a disputed open collection account I strongly encourage [redacted] to contact our office to resolve the defaulted balance Sincerely, [redacted] Collections Manager
