Mover's Van Lines Doraville Ga Reviews (%countItem)

Moving to the big city has been my dream and it finally came true. I was moving with my wife from our country town and we hired Movers van lines to move our stuffs. I have to admit, they did an amazing job. They were very careful with our very expensive glassware and they carried our furniture with extreme caution. The new apartment is a 3rd floor walkup and the movers very efficiently moved all our stuffs up 3 floors. They never complained or whined. The delivery was made on time. My valuables travelled safely and they charged me the exact amount they quoted. I was very impressed with their professionalism.

Thank you for your time

Dealing with this company has been a disaster. They provided me with an initial cost and told me the packing material was all included. Did not inform me until 4 pm the following day I needed to make a $1404 payment before they will pick-up the household goods the following morning. I was told they were professionals, and this is a private company (no they are independently contracted). The driver Pierre was very rude and disrespectful, and they left my (2) King headboards and frames my complete queen bed set, and my leather recliner chair. My vacation home is in Blythewood SC, and my items were taken to Georgia to be stored. They even threaten to leave my items in the house and just leave. I tried to reach the company for a week regarding this matter and no one ever returned my call.
Then I was given a number to contact the owner Jeremy he was also rude. I stated that I wanted 5 minutes of his time to explain what happened he stated that this seems like it's going to be a long drown out story and to send an email. After sending the email the only thing I've received in response is another invoice in which I received on 11/04/18 stating that it needed to be paid by the 11/05/18 or there will be additional late charges added on. Also, they double the charges for my storage, I was told the fee was $200.00 now they are saying the fee is $400.00 a month. When I advised them that they are trying to charge an additional fee of over $800.00 plus additional fees when it arrives at the destination in New York.
They left a lot of my household items that I really needed instead of providing an apology for the rude and nasty behavior, acknowledging that they were wrong, providing some type of resolution instead they still increased my bill and the feel they have the power to do as they wish because they are holding your personal items. Something must be done to prevent this from happening to other customers who only want their items to get from one destination to another without the headaches.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I should receive a credit and be reimbursed for the items that was in my home. Also, credited for $310.00 that was charged for materials in which I was told that was included in the $3095 fee. Most important I want my household goods to arrive to its destination without as promised and set up also as promised without tacking on additional fees. This method of continuously charging their clients what they want when they want seems to be a normal method of business.

I must say this is the most rude ,disrespectful and verbal abusive customer I dealt with in my 22 years in business ,
She treat everyone works in this company like we are slaves.

In regards to her claim , we had a specific list of items to take on the truck , customer had additional items that were not on the list so we provided the customer with the quote for the additional items , she refused to pay for the additional service so we did not take the items.
Her quote was included storage for 3 months which she paid for , our accounting made a mistake an they told her that is $400 a month , we correct the mistake

due to the severity of the abuse from this customer we decided to terminate our service relationship
.
Sometimes and with some customers whatever you do is not good enough

We advised the customer to find a storage place so we can deliver her items , a storage fee that was charged will be refunded

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
All the information provided from the company's owner is absolutely false. My pick-up was on November 9, 2018, and from that date on I've been trying to get a resolution to my problem. It is a fact that they left my head board and footboard to my king bed frame and leather recliner chair in my master bedroom which cost $2200 for the bed $450 for the recliner, the second bed room the king headboard and frame $1500, and the 3rd bedroom the entire Queen headboard, frame, box spring and mattress total $1800. However, on the invoice he has stated that items 20 (1) bed slats 20(8) Head board 20(9) foot board 21 (0) side slats. All the items were listed on the original invoice for $3095 in which they have removed the original invoice off their site so that it can't be accessed. Over $5000.00 worth my furniture items were just left in my home not because it was additional items that were added on, it's because they failed to bring a bigger truck to put the items in. Jeremy has stated that he has listened to all the calls, but has never provided any solution to any of these problems. Lisa called me screaming stating that I didn't give her an opportunity to correct the problem and for that I need to find another storage in New York because they no longer want to honor the contract. I have always been willing to make the payment for the storage and still is. But charging an additional $400.00 was no mistake she was adamant about the price until I clearly stated that the information is incorrect and they are not going to just charge additional fees as they choose. From the beginning I was told the day before that I needed to make a $1404 payment before they can pick-up. Also, I received another invoice for $400 on 12/03, received a call on 12/04 stating that it needed to be paid on 12/5 or there's a late fee attached. I informed them that I need to have an itemized bill with everything outlined for the cost. I was also advised that when my items get delivered there may be additional charges that may also apply. I called several different companies where the fee was much lower than this company. But I thought if I paid more it would assure that I received my house hold items with no problems and deal with a professional staff. Adam lied and told me that they are a quality company and they will take the stress away from your move and assured that they had made this trip from SC to New York many times and this is a common route. This has been very upsetting, stressful, and you have a owner who is unapologetic for all the problems that has occurred and to-date has not provided an apology nor a solution to all of these problems. He states that he will be having my items leaving GA by Monday, December 10, 2018, he must remember that he has a contract that he needs to fulfil. As stated before I am more than willing to pay for my storage but I need answers regarding my merchandise that was left and how am I going to be compensated for them. Also, he wants to get out the contract so they can bring my items to NY put them in a storage and I have to pay another moving company, are they paying for that additional moving company, because I'm not. I'm not understanding how a business of 22 years conduct business in this manner. There needs to be a through investigation done into this companies practices. No one is bullying this company they just need to be accountable for their actions and not giving accurate information about their services they provide. They are not a personal owned company they use Independent contactors to do their jobs and by adding additional fees that extra money the independent contractor can get.

Mover's Van Lines Doraville Ga Response • Mar 01, 2019

I would like you to understand the moving process ,
we took the shipment to NJ which cost us $1000
then you paid Local delivery company , we did not collect any money for taking your items to NJ.

We took the items that you told us to take based on what could you afford

Customer Response • Mar 11, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Once again you're making false allegations. It was never based on what I can afford. Furthermore, you don't have a clue on what I can afford. As a matter of fact there were a lot of companies that was less expensive that I could have choosen. But I thought I was getting wuality service that's why I didn't mind paying
your quoted fee. I never requested a discount I only wanted a reputable company to provide honest professional service, which I didn't get. How stupid for me to request beds and leave my two beautiful king headboard and frames and a complete queen bed room set.
I hope you really don't think your lies are remotely believable. This is such a dishones company. Once again I paid company with a money order $1325 for delivery. Constantly replying with the Revdex.com is not resolving this issue so further legal actions are needed. Furthermore, when True State delivered the furniture they stated it was your contract they presented and not from them. Jeremy everyone is not dumb and stupid as you may think they are. Your lies and business tactics are disgraceful.

When I hired this company I had mixed reviews especially after reading all their reviews online which took me several days. I weighed the good and the bad and decided to take the gamble with MVL.. When the crew showed up early I was shocked, their professionalism and manners impressed me. They came in did their job and I didn't have to lift a finger. My inventory items were the first to get loaded and when I decided I wanted to take extra items they didn't try to bargain; my arms, legs, or first born child... I am very appreciative to the entire staff for all their hard work in making my move a little less stressful.

They managed to destroy 30% of my entire household belongings. I was in sure if any damage was done I would be able to file a claim. I have contacted them numerously including photos and begging them to allow me to file claims. I have been completely ignored. During the movie use it imitation factors to ensure that I would get out of the way where they threw my belongings carelessly into empty boxes and then threatened to remove my things and that allowed me to have them back if I did not pay double The binding bid on a contract. If you hire this company you are allowing a group of thugs into your home that you will have to pay to destroyed most of what you care about where they treat you with gross disrespect

The pick up from my storage unit in Atlanta went very smoothly - the only reason I am giving them any stars at all. However, the delivery side of this move was an entire nightmare. I felt like Joe, the truck driver, was figuratively holding a gun to my head. He threatened repeatedly to leave with my belongings if I didn't give him more money and in the end, he did take several boxes and a flat screen TV - and there are still items we realize are missing as we unpack and organize. He has, of course, denied that anything of ours is on his truck, so those things are lost to us.

Upon arrival Joe told me my balance was $1,313 instead of $1,063. We had the money order for $1,063 which was the amount in our contract and we had not heard that it had changed. Also, he told me it would be an additional $150 because he can't get his truck in our lot and because of the steps. The contract states: "Long Carry up to 75 feet from your pick-up location to the moving van, and up to 75 feet from the moving van to your final delivery location. One flight of stairs at your pick-up location and one at your final delivery location (one flight of stairs is equal to one floor up or down, not to exceed 12 steps)." There was a semi in our parking lot moving someone in the day before, so it was his choice not to pull in and the steps should have been figured into the contract cost already since I had discussed this with my Mover's Van Lines representative at the beginning. I spoke with Jeremy at MVL who told me I should have received an email to show why it was $1,313 instead of $1,063. I checked my email and had received it at 9:24 that morning - after the truck had arrived and I already had the money order for $1,063. Extra costs were for some packing and having an elevator at the storage unit in Atlanta. They did have to wrap some items, but the elevator should have been figured into the costs since I had discussed this with my Mover's Van Lines representative at the beginning. Under things included in the move, the contract states: "Wrapping/protection of furniture with moving pads/blankets."

After speaking to Jeremy, we went to the bank and withdrew an additional $400 - $250 for the extra charges from MVL and $150 for the truck driver for the additional distance from the truck to the apt and the additional stairs, which should have been included in my contract price. When I returned, Joe had me sign the paperwork before unloading - he said he would leave with all of my belongings if I didn't sign. I never received a copy of the paperwork from him. Then he told me it would be $300, not $150 for the additional distance and stairs. I believe this was because Jeremy, at MVL, was aware of the extra $150 we had already given him and Joe wanted another $150 for himself. When I said I had the original $150, but could not get another $150, he directed the helper he had with him to leave all of our belongings at the dumpster - across the drive from my second floor apt - while he went and sat in the cab of the truck. I again called Jeremy, slightly hysterical, and told him my husband and I are 60 years old and could not carry all of our things up the stairs to the apt. He said he would call the driver and have him bring our things upstairs. After watching the helper leave a few more items by the dumpster, I again called Jeremy to see what was happening. In the meantime, we also called the police who said it was a civil matter and I would have to take the driver to court - while all of my belongings sat outside at the dumpster. Jeremy said Joe would not answer his calls, and that he would call Joe's boss and have him call Joe. Finally, two more helpers showed up and they started bringing our stuff upstairs.

The contract states: "Disassembly and reassembly of furniture." All of our belongings were brought in and left in our living and dining room in a jumble. Nothing was assembled or put in the correct area. Joe refused to speak to my husband or me the entire time they were unloading and never came up the stairs to bring anything. One of the helpers told me he had helped with quite a few moves and had never seen anything like this. He said I should have received a list of my belongings to check against items being moved into the apartment and most things should have been placed and assembled.

Besides all of this, several pieces of the china I inherited from my mother were broken, they stood my dresser on its unprotected top on the concrete landing on the stairs and twisted it around to get it in the best position to carry the rest of the way up, so the entire top was scratched beyond repair, one of the legs was broken off of my night table, two lamps were broken, a shade is missing from another and an entire bookcase was destroyed. Someone stepped on my dining table and cracked the frame and there are black boot prints all over my mattress and box springs as well as tears in both. I could go on.

I filed a claim with MVL on October 3rd and have not heard from them since. If you are considering hiring them for your move, be aware - if they pay at all, it will be 60 cents per pound - when you're talking about $3,000 worth of items, it hardly seems like fair compensation when some of the more expensive items don't weigh much. For instance, we lost two Rokus that cost $100 each, but only weigh maybe five pounds together - this means they will give us about $3.00. When I sent the claim in, I was told that value didn't matter, only weight. When I have to pay to replace all of these items, value matters to me, if not to them. Again, if they pay our claim, it could be approximately $500 for almost $3,000 in lost and damaged items.

Also, be aware that even though their website (and the representative) state: "We are not a broker, but an actual carrier with a DOT number and a fleet of trucks. Most moving companies are brokers, bidding out your moving to the lowest paid carriers that may not have your best interest at heart. We will be here with you from beginning to end" that for a cross-country move, the delivery is brokered out to someone who does not work for MVL.

The contract also states: "We offer a "BINDING-NOT-TO-EXCEED" estimate contract that covers all expenses up front. There are no hidden charges. All of the fuel surcharges, taxes and tolls are included. This is the best way for the customer to know exactly what your total moving costs are and offers you the comfort of knowing everything up front." This isn't actually true. The fact that we had to pay an additional $400 over what the "BINDING-NOT-TO-EXCEED" estimate contract stated negates this claim.

Overall, we paid approximately $6,500 - for movers and replacing lost/stolen/damaged items - for a nightmare. If we ever move again, I'll give all of our belongings to charity and start new. It would be more cost-effective.

In April I contracted the company to move my family from Atlanta to Indianapolis. My contract called for me paying for a full truck (even though it would not be full) so my furniture would be here on time. In addition it involved the transport of a white grand piano. The company split up my belongings including the piano and took it off the proper equipment required to move properly. In doing so there was thousands of dollars damage to the piano. All the legal paperwork and photos were provided to them. He kept saying he would take care of it. Then after waiting he told me I had to file a claim with his insurance company. This was done months ago and they will not call back. All they do is state my claim is being processed and will be expedited. You can't even talk to a live person or manager to complain. I believe this entire process is a scam and he is hoping that I will just go away. This has been going on since May. The business is ins breach of contract and was negligent in following proper procedures for moving a very expensive piece of furniture. The people who delivered the piano were not certified.

Refund I want a cash settlement as per our discussion and the business to settle this claim immediately in the amount of $2000. The only reason I have not filed legal action (which is next) is because I was trying to follow the claim process. The insurance company is just as guilty as they will not return phone calls and will only respond with a generic email with no personal contact information available.

I was moving back home and my excitement had no boundaries. I hired Movers van lines to wrap up my life (a 3 bedroom house) and then transport it back home where it belongs. They gave me a very reasonable quote to begin with. Then their crew showed up on time. The men worked very efficiently packing up everything. After some really bad experiences in life, I was really starting to trust in the worst in people. But this company reinstated my faith on humanity. Just looking at how efficiently these men worked, you can feel like good things do happen. They delivered all my belongings in great condition as well. They stuck to their which made me love them even more.

I am very glad that I found this moving company. They have competitive rates and it is quite affordable. I hired them last month for my long distance move and they have done a very good job with everything. They arrived on time on the day of the move and moved my things with care. They were very gentle with everything and moved my belongings nicely. They delivered on time as promised and there were no damages upon delivery. Not a single issue at all! I highly recommend Movers van lines to those who are looking for an efficient and reliable moving company.

I moved with Movers van lines last month and they did a great job! I hired them because they had good reviews and their rates were low and reasonable. Their sales rep was very convincing too! On the day of the move, their foreman and his two helpers came first thing in the morning and started to work the moment they came in. They packed everything I own and did not miss a thing. They moved the furniture very nicely and did not bump anything on to anything. The delivery was made within the given time and the guys also helped to unpack. Best thing of all was that there were no damages and no extra fees. I am very impressed!

I had no problems with this moving company. My move was very smooth and easy. Their moving team came on time on the day of the move and moved my belongings nicely and properly. They finished the packing and loading within the given time and they also delivered on time too. They unloaded my belongings in the rooms I wanted and moved the furniture as many times I wanted. There were no damages in the end and there were no extra fees too. I had a pretty good move with Movers van lines. I will use them again.

We used movers van lines to move us from one office building to a storage unit and then again from the storage to a new office. In both moves, the movers were very professional and efficient with their time. They were prompt in their arrival and thorough in their communication with us throughout both moves.
