Per my contract I was guaranteed a delivery of 6/9-6/10 It is now 6/10 and no one from the company has contacted me.
Per my contract I was guaranteed a delivery of my items that were moved from Atlanta, GA on 6/2 to be delivered on 6/9-6/10, however, today is 6/10 and I have not heard from anyone in the company. My father, my fiancé, and myself have called the company numerous times and emailed them with no response. The major problem is I start work tomorrow and now have nothing. Therefore, I have purchased an attorney via LegalShield who I will talk to on 6/11 to discuss this issue. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially when they called me on 6/3 asking could they drop my stuff off to my apartment on 6/4. So you all messed up my moving in date and NOW HAVE GONE MISSING. This is never how a company should be runned, but now I am asking my attorney to try to get all my money back.

Also, apart of why I am willing to pay for movers is to alleviate stress, however, this company has caused more stress than I could have ever imagined.

We've had mixed experiences with moving companies in the past. However, this moving team was awesome. The guys arrived on time and took great care wrapping up our furniture in blankets and shrink wrap. We had packed everything else ourselves in moving boxes. Upon unpacking we didn't find anything broken. The place we moved to have a narrow living room door so big items like my two bookcases could barely be squeezed through, but they managed it without scratching anything. The move went relatively quick and uneventful. Due to work assignments, we have moved several times, once it was even abroad and this was the best experience we have had and it was with Movers van lines.

Mover's Van Lines Representative *** came to my home in September and looked at all of the items that needed to be moved in order to appraise them and give me a binding estimate of $5206.50 for 1966 cubic feet, and asked me to pay a 10% deposit on September 13th, which I did.
On the day of the move, November 8th, the movers came in we gave the movers a cashier's check for $2812 to start the move. However, this is where the first signs of trouble began, and we were requested to pay more than was established originally. The movers added charges on the spot for labor and packing materials as well as for wrapping all the furniture. *** had said during his appraisal in September that we did not have to pack any furniture, as the movers will come and wrap all the furniture themselves. However he did not mention any additional charges at that time. These were not the only added fees, as they increased the supposedly "binding" estimate on the move day by claiming an additional 300 cubic feet of items were present. In fact, the day that *** came back in September, we actually had more furniture than we ended up moving, as no items were added and a lot of large furniture pieces (including some sofas, patio furniture, several shelves and bookcases, a few chairs, as well as a bed to name a few) were sold or donated before the move, making it impossible for the cubic feet to have increased. Finally, after loading everything in the truck, they said that it would cost us $1300 more for the move, due to these additional charges. They did not give us a copy of the paperwork stipulating how they estimated the increased cubic feet or the new packing charges. When requested for a copy, they said the office will send the contract tomorrow Nov 9th. That tomorrow is yet to come. My innumerable emails, texts, and calls to *** (the operations manager), ***, or *** to get a copy of the contract were never answered. Almost six months after the move, and I am still waiting for a contract copy.
Sadly this was only the beginning of our problems, I repeatedly called their office to find out when they can directly deliver the items so that they did not have to handle the items too many times, which increases the chance of the items being mishandled and damaged. Finally on November 13th, the company said they would deliver on the 14th, the next day, which was extremely short notice as we were at that time still in *** My husband had to take a last minute flight and came to *** to receive the shipment, but was surprised to find out that only half the shipment was actually delivered on the 14th. We were never notified that they split our shipment or that they handled our items a couple of times. On top of that when they did deliver our items there was no item list to follow, and every piece of furniture they wrapped and packed and charged extra for packing was damaged, including a lot of things broken irreparably, missing crucial pieces, or very obviously damaged i.e. with deep scratches, chips, or dents. Despite this, they asked us to pay the cashier's check for most of the remaining moving fee balance for $2200 before even opening the door of the truck for delivery. Despite only delivering half of the items at this time with no mention of when the rest of the shipment would be delivered. Only 2 people came to deliver the entire truck. Once that was given, the two people who came to deliver personally harassed us for an additional $220 in cash to take the items up the stairs, else refusing to complete the delivery and threatening to leave if they did not get the cash immediately. Our repeated calls and texts to the office and the operations manager *** went unanswered. One of the movers spoke to *** on the phone directly in front of me, but when I asked to talk to him, *** refused to speak with me.
We kept calling the office to see when the next delivery was scheduled, but never were able to get a date from them. On November 19th, we received a call from the truck driver saying that they can deliver on the 20th. When they arrived on November 20th, they demanded the rest of the money and still never gave a contract. We paid them $792 in cash so they would deliver the stuff instead of taking it to their warehouse. Finally we ended paying $6544 for the move. I never found out how much was due from the company based on the contract and was forced to pay the amount the moving guys demanded in cash. The same things continue to go wrong in the second delivery as with the first. There were more damages to all of the furniture delivered. In fact, the movers carelessly threw an executive office chair down from the truck while we were watching them unload, broke its handle in the process, glued it back in place and placed it against the wall thinking that we would not notice it. We pointed it out to them, showing them the wet glue, but they feigned ignorance and never even apologized for trying to hide it. Our brand new refrigerator, which they were responsible for wrapping, was badly dented in two places. The ping pong table, which they loaded from our house on the 8th in one piece, came back in several pieces and was missing a piece so it could not be put back together. After several days of contacting Jerome, the mover finally dropped off the piece on December 27th, and to our dismay the piece was split in half, making it impossible to fix the ping pong table even after all the hassle of retrieving the piece. We then started the claim damage process with a third party assigned by the mover.
We wanted to make sure we file this complaint with you all so that innocent people are protected from the atrocious business practices and unbelievably poor communication with this moving company.
