Reviews Epoxy Floor Coating My Gorilla Garage

My Gorilla Garage Reviews (%countItem)

Product seems good, our crew did a good job, but the sales pitch was snake oil all the way
We just had MGG come in to refinish our garage floor here in SW Florida. I have prior knowledge of elastomeric substances in relation to commercial/industrial applications, so I knew it would be a good choice for garage flooring. I was concerned about an install in a humid climate, but a neighbor had the product installed by this company 4 years ago, it was holding up well with no ill effects. He recommended them.

A salesman initials JC (intentionally leaving out his full name) came and showed us the product and explained the installation process. He took measurements supposedly to determine dampness in our floor, but he was taking readings through a floor that already had a thick (though damaged in spots) epoxy coating on it, giving us the impression he was giving us a show, more than actually determining actual moisture.

A discussion ensued about choosing to install the material on the knee wall foundation area separating the house from the garage, a distance of 24" from floor to finish. He measured the distance, quoted us an additional $400 to add that area to the quote. We chose a color sample, accepted the amount (quite a bit higher than other companies that had come out to quote regular epoxy) wrote a check for the down payment and waited about 4 weeks for the crew to show up.

Crew showed up on the scheduled day and immediately told us they could not install the product more than 4" up the wall. We called and talked to Charles who explained why they cannot install on a vertical service at that height... then immediately started to dicker with the quote while the guys waited outside to start the job. We hastily negotiated a price that subtracted the knee wall area, but re-added in a 4" run around the entire garage, paying approx. $130 less than the original quote. Looking at the original numbers against the measurements, we realize that we were taken for a ride, albeit it not a huge amount. The bait and switch was complete.

The crew had to return several days later to finish one small area because our water softener had dribbled water onto the uncured install. They got it done cleanly and the area seems to be fine (as far as we can tell). Time will tell.

Another neighbor had an install done at the same time as ours (different crew), same salesman, was given the same hard sell about the knee wall finish and had an equally horrible experience (maybe worse?) with MGG. We are encouraging them to post their experience here.

Generally it's good practice to offer ideas for improvement when leaving a less than good review. If you're reading this MGG, you might consider cutting certain employees from sales staff who have difficulty telling the truth to consumers. Be very aware that such behavior by a representative of this company may very well lead to fraud charges brought against the company in the future. In addition, equipping a replacement sales team with the actual knowledge in what MGG can actually do (and especially NOT do) with their product will help build trust with respect to new client relationships.

We can honestly write that though we think the product itself is good, we would emphatically never recommend this company because: A.) The salesman flat out lied to us; B.) The management supported the deception; C.) Though we did negotiate a lower price, it was very minimal compared to the actual numbers - area. vs. $/sq. ft., and: D.) The EXACT same thing happened to our neighbors with respect to the knee wall quote.

In August of 2018 I hired this company out of Sarasota to do my lanai & a small front patio. They came totally unimpaired. They sanded my floor but forgot to bring a vacuum (they blamed the guys that had the truck the day before) so they just blew the dust out of my lanai through my new screens. Aside from that they did a pretty good job. About a year later I noticed 2 long cracks and placed a call to them for repair. First call I had to leave a message. No call back. My next call I actually talked to a human he said take a few pictures and send them to him and he would call me back. I sent the pictures and you guessed it. No call back. Now I'm looking to hire another company to do the repairs and they wanted to have me check with Gorilla Garage as to what they use for the top clear coat. Guess what all I got was an answering machine and no call back.
Run to another company! High priced, not prepared and don't honor warranty. As I'm not sure how this damage happened I was even open to paying for the repair.
At this point I want nothing but to let hard working customers to be ware

Will not recommend, horrible service, in fact no service! We have made several phone calls and always get transferred to a line that NO ONE ANSWERS or returns the call/messages left. I finally told the operator (on June 19th phone call) NOT TO TRANSFER ME TO THE VOICE MAIL LINE, I WANTED TO SPEAK TO A REAL REP. Finally, got to talk to Ashkley Kr. I explained the flaking of the product in many spots on garage floor. Understood lifetime warranty as we had pulled our paperwork from when we had the floor coated. She explained due to "Covid-19 minimal staff" and no one going out to locations. This sounded reasonable and I accepted the explanation but still after months of calling and leaving messages I should have realized this was not going to go well. Ashley asked me to send pictures. I did. She sent an email acknowledging pictures and said they would be reviewed. But the kicker here is she had already explained the things they would not cover, even before sending pictures. And the cost that we could/would pay to repair the floor. I thought this was pretty odd and told my husband, they aren't going to stand behind their work/product. As of today, I still have not heard from Ashley or anyone for that matter from the company. I then looked here on Revdex.com sight. I can see at this point I am pretty much fighting a losing battle to get any help, service, repairs, return phone call or emails. I find this incredibly sad and in the last 6 months I have had 3 people inquire of our floor, I will now call those friends to tell them not to use this company. If I could get the word out by any other means to warn others I would, but I am sure social media would delete my negative posts. I can only hope people will check the Revdex.com before the move forward with this company. I do not want to give them even 1 star, in fact wish we could give a negative star as there is no help at all. They just continue to give you the run around and lead you on with excuses.

We purchased My Gorilla Garage and gave them a deposit of $1,950. When the installer came he said our concrete was too crumbling, their product couldn't be used. We tried calling the company but got no return call. I have sent two emails to our salesman and I emailed both GMs listed on their website. I did not get an "undeliverable" message so must assume the emails were received. Those were sent two weeks ago and we haven't received a reply.

Customer Response • Jul 20, 2020

We received a check for the entire $1,950 from My Gorilla Garage in today's mail (Friday July 17). Thank you for your assistance in helping us obtain our money back.

We had our garage floor installed last year. The floor started to peel. We contacted Gorilla Garage many time but over the phone and in emails. They mad appointments to come see the floor and never showed up. With your help they came and redid the floor. In September of 2019 I contacted them that the floor was peeling again but in a different spot. I tried many more times and they would not get back to me. I finally got them to call me back and I had an appointment for someone to come to my house to see the problem last Wednesday 4/29 and again no one showed up. I have continuously called and they refuse to again call back just like last time. Thanks to your help last year they replaced the floor. Now I need your help again

On that date, 4/29/2020, yes there was a appt. set up. We call the day of set appt. to make sure that time is still convenient because we need access to the inside of their garage. When we called, we received no answer and left a message. We have tried several time since then to set up a time. It is 10:00 am on May 7th and we left yet another message for her to call us. we are ready to assist, just need to verify she will be home before we send anyone out.

Customer Response • May 08, 2020

I received your message concerning them trying to reach me by telephone. I have three phones. They have all of my numbers. I assumed the number they had was wrong but I did in fact get a call from them this morning. I was on with another call and I had to call them back. They have not tried to reach me prior to today as I certainly wouldn't have wasted your time if they were returning calls. It is how they do business for the past year. I certainly have nothing to do right now but answer my phone if they were actually calling me. Hopefully they show up next Friday. Thank you

Customer Response • May 18, 2020

They finally showed up to the house on Friday. They said that the reason the garage floor was peeling was because it wasn't sanded properly. I said I know that the first time they did the floor I told them it was going to peel because they did not sand the floor properly. They redid the floor and again did not sand it properly. I told them to sand it they didn't and it peeled again. The man who came friday said that someone would call me on Monday to tell me when they would be here to redo the floor and of course it's 5:00 and they did not call me. Frustrating they can't ever do what they say they are going to do not to mention the work we have to go through to prepare the floor again. We have to remove the cabinets again. Horrible.

ell us why here...

My Gorilla Garage Response • May 20, 2020

When we were out there on Friday, the inspector called the installation manager on the phone to discuss what was found. The installation manager told the inspector that we would call NEXT WEEK to discuss what was found. I don't know why the homeowner heard Monday. We tried calling the homeowner at 11:28, got no answer so left a detailed message on the voice mail. We are prepared to redo the entire job over, we would need 7-10 days to get his color of floor into our warehouse. Once we get the materials in, we will put them on the schedule for first available time that fits their schedule.

While I was typing this, the homeowner called in, their redo is set for June 10th barring any rain.

My garage floor needs fixing according to employee of company that verified that job was not installed properly. Was supposed to be fixed last July. 2019, they were a no show. Rescheduled for April 2020 cleaned out garage and still no show and no call. Now they will not take calls of any kind. Not able to work during virous is ok. Message at their office said they were still doing service calls, but that was also not true. Company has absolutely no respect for any consumer. Would be willing to, as a group, pursue possible legal action.

My Gorilla Garage Response • May 04, 2020

We have communicated with this customer and apologized for the inconvenience. They are now on the schedule to be repaired.

Garage floor coating installed less than 1 year yellowing. Company notified and sent rep to inspect. Rep said it would be repaired under warranty. Said supervisor would call. No call!!! I called the company several times and left messages to warranty manager. Does not return calls

My Gorilla Garage Response • May 29, 2020

Hello. This is our response. Mr. has a yellowing spot on his floor about 8-10 feet in his garage. this spot is man made. this is not a product failure. If our product was failing, the entire floor would be yellowing. On 4/13/2020, we called to follow up and returned his call, got his voice mail but could not leave a message due to the "mail box" was full. this was true om 4/15/2020, 4/20/2020. on 5/28/2020 at 10:16 am we tried again and this time was able to leave a voicemail but no returned call. Today, 5/29/2020, we again attempted to contact Mr., again got voicemail and was able to leave a message.

This is not a warranty covered issue. We do not cover man made issues. We would be happy to fix/repair area but there will be a charge to do it.

Thank You GailI contracted with Gorilla Garage to coat my garage floor in June 2019. I paid nearly $5000 because I felt they were a reliable company and had a lifetime warranty. The salesman assured me the lifetime warranty covered everything including automobile stains. In 04/2020 I noticed a large discoloration on my garage floor. My garage is pristine and I do not work in the garage. I checked the vehicle that was parked over the spot and found no leaks of any kind. I immediately contacted Gorilla Garage. They were cordial and sent a representative to inspect the garage. The representative told me the discoloration was a defect and covered under warranty. He explained that the repair would result in another discoloration because it wouldn’t match the rest of the garage. I told him to repair the entire garage and that everything should match. He took color photos and told me that he would have his boss call me. The call never came. I called “Charles” who is the warranty representative for the company. I left four messages to have him call me. He never called. His response states that he could not leave voice mail messages because my mailbox was full. I use my phone less than once a month and rarely receive voice mail. I did speak to Charles on 05/29/20 after I received voice mail. Charles told me that they would repair the floor but I would have to submit photos and have the floor inspected. I informed Charles that his company had taken photos and inspected over 6 weeks ago. His employee that conducted the inspection had told me it was covered under warranty. Charles told me that he would talk to his boss and call me. That never happened. Charles constantly refuses to call back and then says he did. You can see from other complaints that he has a history of doing that. He also has a history of distorting the facts. My warranty does not state anything about man made spills. This company does not honor it’s warranty. When I submitted this complaint I stated that I wanted Gorilla Garage to repair my garage floor. That is no longer the case. I would not trust that they could repair the garage in a satisfactory manner. I will contact a reliable company to repair their unsatisfactory workmanship. In closing I have never dealt with a more unscrupulous company. I hope that others can read this and take their business elsewhere.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Jun 22, 2020

I do not know how to explain it any different. This issue the homeowner has is man made. Our warranty plainly states that problems caused by the homeowner is not covered. Its like putting regular gas in a vehicles that uses diesel fuel, locking up the engine and forcing the car manufacture to replace the engine. This is not a warranty issue. We already said we would repair it but it will not be for free. Also, I talked to the person that inspected the job and he said he ABSOLUTELY did not say what this homeowner is claiming he said.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This business does not honor it's lifetime warranty plain and simple. "Charles" the business warranty manager is untruthful in his statements. He has never returned my calls as he stated and he told me that he was going to honor the warranty which he did not. I do not trust this company and I would not let them attempt to repair the garage even if they offered.

I consider this Revdex.com complaint closed and will seek civil remedies in court.

Thank you for your help

We were scheduled to have our garage floor coating installed on Monday 4/20. My Gorilla Garage advertised a one-day installation. Upon calling the office on 4/16 to confirm the installation date, we heard a pre-recorded message that all appointments were running on schedule.
By the middle of the morning on 4/20, nobody had arrived at our house. We called the office and got a busy signal. We called our sales representative and got a busy signal. As a third attempt, we called the Sarasota, Florida office to see if they knew why we couldn’t reach the office managing our installation. We never heard back from anyone in the Cincinnati office.
Finally, after 12:00pm, a crew member arrived. He indicated right away that the job would not be completed in one day (as advertised on the website, by the sales representative and in the marketing materials we received with the quote). The crew member also did not have all the required materials with him to complete the install in a single day. The garage floor coating was not completed on 4/20 and there was no inclement weather that would have impacted the installation. This was extremely frustrating, especially as we incurred expenses for storage of items in our garage while the installation was to be completed.
On Tuesday 4/21, the scheduling manager indicated they’d send a crew to finish that afternoon. A crew never showed up to our house on 4/21. At this point, we called to inform My Gorilla Garage that we wanted a refund. We were never able to reach anyone, but we left 2 voicemails that evening expressing our dissatisfaction with their poor customer service and lack of completing our project on the date scheduled. Today, Wednesday 4/23, we heard from the scheduling manager that we would not receive a refund.
We would not recommend My Gorilla Garage to anyone. Furthermore, two local garage flooring companies we have since talked to knew right away (without us giving a name) that My Gorilla Garage was the company that didn’t follow through on our install. My Gorilla Garage does not have a good reputation in our area and we wish we had done more research before scheduling to have them complete our project.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Apr 27, 2020

We started the install process on 4/20/20. We did inform the customer we would need to return to complete
the install within the next few days. On 4/22/20 we returned to finish the install, but the customer
would not allow the installers to do so. They then called the office and asked for a
refund. At this point a refund would not be possible due to work already performed, and the cost of all materials ordered.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The
work was advertised and quoted as a one-day installation. On the scheduled appointment date, the crew
member arrived late and without all materials needed to complete the job. My Gorilla Garage did not communicate with us
prior to the late arrival. We asked for
a crew member to complete the job on Day 2. We later learned the crew member was in route to our house and was told
by the scheduling manager to turn around. The scheduling manager did not communicate with us about this. Therefore, we left two voicemails that
evening to request a refund. We did not
want to continue working with My Gorilla Garage after the poor service, lack of
communication and a job that was not finished.

Furthermore,
we had a local garage flooring company visit our house. They informed us the small amount of prep
work done on the garage floor was not complete and the floor was not prepared for
the coating. This could result in
warranty issues and we are thankful we did not continue forward with the work
by My Gorilla Garage. After their poor
customer service, we can’t imagine the trouble we would have satisfying any
warranty request. Our complaint is not
resolved. We want a refund of our
deposit as My Gorilla Garage did not complete the project as agreed upon and to
no fault of our own.

Regards

Included as attachments are both pages of our contract, printed sales material we received during the sales appointment (when we signed the contract), and screenprints of their website where they advertise multiple times a one-day installation process.

The contract does mention the preparation/grinding process that is to be done before the floor coating is applied. We have pictures of our garage floor showing the entire floor was not properly prepared with the grinder. A significant amount of the surface was untouched. We can provide the pictures if requested.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Jun 15, 2020

Our contract clearly states: "Delays of any scheduled project that require re-scheduling shall not operate as a forfeiture of the contract, or shall the company be liable to purchaser for any damages occasioned thereby, time off from work not being of the essence of this contract and no reimbursement will be given." We tried to reschedule with the customer immediately. This original install was scheduled on Monday, April 20th 2020. We were able to accommodate by Wednesday, April 22nd 2020. On arrival to his location the customer refused to allow the installers to complete any work and demanded a refund.

I had my original Gorilla Garage industrial grade polyurea floor coating system installed in 2014. My floor began lifting a couple of years later. The company came out and repaired the lifting areas and they looked like new. Then in April of 2019 4 different areas began lifting away from the floor. On May 7th, 2019, Jacob came out to inspect my garage floor. He took pictures and said the original installers used the incorrect sealant on my original garage floor. He thought that my whole garage floor would need to be replaced but total replacement needed to be approved and I would be getting a call in the next couple of weeks. No call in May or June. I called Gorilla Garage on July 12, 2019 and asked to speak to a manager. I talked to Joe. He looked up my account. He told me I was to get a free total re-do. The first available date was September 9-10. I emptied my entire garage and put tarps up over all my cupboards and hanging tools. September 9th they were a no show. I called and talked to Ashley. She said they had called me. I had no messages. I got rescheduled for December 3-4. During the last week of November I called to confirm the December 3-4 date. Ashley told me that their warranty department was cracking down because of all the free re-dos so they were giving their approval on a case by case evaluation. Ashley told me she would try to expedite
my re-do. December 3 they were a no show. Called Ashley on Dec. 3rd and she told me all work had been suspended until the first of the year. I was given an install date for Feb 10-11 2020. Feb 10th they were a no show. Follow up call that day I was told they had called me to cancel because it was supposed to snow. I had no call. I was rescheduled for March 18, 2020.
March 18th they were a no show. I called on March 18th and was told that they had called to tell me it was supposed to rain. I did have a call on my home phone. They are supposed to use my cell number. The Gorilla Garage warranty is for the life of my home. I have talked to the installation manager, the service manager(Ashley), and the secretary Brittany. I also talked to Joe in management.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Apr 29, 2020

Our service department is currently closed and has been all of April due to the lockdown. We will reopen May 4th. Services will be completed in the order that they were received. There is not an exact date we can give at this moment. We will be contacting customers in the upcoming weeks to schedule for repair.

In 2018 I had a screen room and laundry area completed with the gorilla garage floor product. In the fall of that year there were large black marks appearing in the floor. I called the company and they sent someone by to address the situation, I was told that they would need to grind the surface and completely re do the floor, they the scheduled a visit a few months later. The next installer came and indiscted that there was an issue with the moisture barrier that I paid extra for and that someone would contact me to set a new date and time. after several days I contacted the company now it is early 2019. I was told by charles that they were working on a new moisture barrier formula that would take a few months of testing to verify and would contact me to schedule after they were sure all was good again. Now it is fall of 2019 and I returned to my florida home , called and they scheduled a visit, but not till Feb 29, 2020. On Saturday the 29 of February the crew showed up yo start and indicated that the floor needed to be ground back to bare concrete and completely re done, he did indicate that they were using a new formula for moisture protection, but that he did not have the product necessary to start or complete my project. I have a tenant in the property and they are looking for a discount because they canot use the laundry facilities of screen room because we have removed all the appliances and furniture.

I believe I have been patient and very considerate and need this resolved right away, not several weeks out...again

My Gorilla Garage Response • Mar 03, 2020

Our installation dept. spoke with the homeowner yesterday 3/2 about the issue. The reason for the multi times out is what the homeowner described and what really needs to be done is not one and the same. It was previously expressed that the floor need to be re flaked due to discoloration. upon the crew arriving to do the service on 2/29, it was determined that the floor has a moisture issue. We are grinding the floor down and applying our new and improved moisture barrier. Service is schedules for 3/12.

We had a coating put on about a year ago. It developed discolored areas
they came out reviewed it said they would replace it per warranty. They have scheduled a number of times and cancelled on scheduled two more didn’t show didn’t call. We have called numerous times, they mislead you and will not call you, you have to call them.
Very poor service.

A contract was signed on November 19, 2019 with an install date of January 7, 2020. We were told materials could be acquired with only several days notice, even as early as the following week. However we opted to wait until January.
We received our reminder call for our installation on Monday, January 6th for arrival between 9-11 am and proceeded to rent a box truck and empty our garage. Tuesday, Jan 7th came and no one showed up to work nor did we receive a phone call. We called the office at 11:30 am and were told someone was supposed to call us on Monday and let us know that they were NOT coming due to they didn’t have resin to complete the topcoat. It was being ordered and they were pushing us to Thursday and offered $150 for the additional days of truck rental. As resin is the essential component to finish ANY job, we found the story hard to believe as this would have essentially put them out of work for a couple days.
Thursday, January 9th arrived with the same promise of arriving between 9-11 am and still no one showed nor did we receive a phone call. Again we called at 11:30 and had to leave a message with Ashley (office staff, who never seem to know what is going on with production). Trevor, the production manager finally called us back at 2:30 pm and said he just returned to the office from another job that the crew botched so they had to use our materials. Exactly what a new customer wants to hear! Again we didn’t buy the story as they should have already been at our house several hours ago. He promised to immediately order the materials and have them overnighted so we could have a Monday, January 13th install and offered another $200 off for the continued truck rental.
Monday came and went – no materials and no phone calls. We called every day for updates. We emailed them our rental truck agreement and told them we were expecting $50/day compensation for the 2 week truck rental that should have been 4 days. Finally on Tuesday we called our sales rep, Craig, who said he’d “get right on it with the GM”. Never heard back from him again. Finally on Thursday, they said they had the materials and could probably install the garage floor on Saturday or Monday. We told them that if they didn’t show up on Friday, we were cancelling the contract as we were heading out of town on Monday and needed to return the truck on Sunday before we left. To our surprise, the installers showed up on Friday! They arrived in an unmarked white van that looks like they picked it up from a junk yard on the way – very unprofessional looking. However they did do a decent job with the exception of some carelessness in throwing the flakes that were splattered on the freshly painted walls. They left us the invoice for the remainder due which should have been a minimum of $350 off plus another $50/day off for the extra days. Only $150 off was noted. We had to call the office and they had to “look into it”. Of course nothing was noted and Trevor finally agreed to $300 off – not what was promised. We are not sure how this company is still in business as the entire office staff is incompetent and doesn’t seem to know what each other is doing. Every job seems to be a bait and switch of empty promises and by the complaints listed, it appears they tell everyone the same story. We have never dealt with a company like this with such poor customer service from the salesman to everyone in the office. Proceed with caution if you ever use this company and don’t give them a check (use credit card) or you won’t see your money!

In June of 2018, we arranged to have Gorilla Garage Flooring install their flooring system. The salesman, Jeremy, assured us the 6 holes between the garage floor and the driveway would not be a problem. He was advised that the rebar between the two areas needed to be cut to prevent re-occurrence of the problem, but he dismissed the advice and the rebar was not cut.

We rented a *** truck to store all of the garage equipment for the time needed to install the floor and let it cure. When the installation crew arrived to do the work, they discovered the measurements of the floor were incorrect and they did not have enough material to do the job. This was the first delay. This caused a mad scramble to arrange to keep the truck for an additional day at our expense, but it was even harder for people to re-schedule in order to help us unload the truck when the floor was ready.

In the winter of 2018, the 6 original problem areas cracked and the Gorilla Garage flooring separated from the main area. After multiple calls to Brittany, Production Assistant, they finally sent Jacob out on May 2nd of 2019 to assess the problem. Jacob agreed that the rebar should have been cut prior to installing the flooring and said he would have Brittany arrange for repairs.

Brittany did promise repair work to be done many times. Each time someone was supposed to come out, either no one showed up or there was no reply to voice mail or a variety of excuses were made.

Gorilla Garage sent us a letter dated July 25, 2019 stating the work would be done on September 12, 2019 and we verified that date in writing. Again, no one showed up.

Next, we were told that Gorilla Garage didn’t do that kind of work (cutting the rebar), and we would have to do it ourselves before they came out to patch the damaged areas. As requested, we cut the rebar and sent them photos of the areas that needed repair.

Since then, and after repeated requests, Gorilla Garage continues to delay or refuse to correct the problem caused by their own original dismissal of the fact the rebar should have been cut prior to installation of the flooring. Now they say they will fix the areas for a price.

After being promised the flooring would be fixed, they changed their story to they would fix it after we cut the rebar, then changed their story again refusing to fix the areas because they don’t do cement work.

Dan MacGloan, President, cannot be reached.

A sales man came to my home and the contract was written in October 2018. Two dates were set up for installation of the floor, the first one was canceled by My Gorilla Garage because they didn’t have a service person that can come out that day and the second date was canceled by My Gorilla Garage because they did not have the supplies needed to do my job. It is now December 2019 I do not have flooring put into my home and they will not return a phone call to get a refund to me the total put down on this at the time of contract was $1570.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Jan 14, 2020

We contacted the customer multiple times to schedule install after first appointment had to be rescheduled due to inclement weather. We offered customer a discount of $150 for the inconvenience. At this point she stopped communicating and we could not reach her when attempting to reschedule her install. It wasn't until the Summer 2019 she reached out to be cancelled and request a refund. She was passed the allotted time to receive refund and was told this multiple times. I spoke with her on the phone before she placed this Revdex.com compliant and she told me she was going to do so. We have been in consistent communication about the company's refund policy.

This is the absolute worst company I have EVER dealt with. They offer a lifetime guarantee that is NOT honored. The floor they lay is DANGEROUS! We have had several people slip on ours because they forgot to add the substance that makes it slip proof. It was a waste of money because we have to keep it completely covered with rugs. It also chips and flakes. On top of that, we had to install new baseboards to cover the mess they made of our wall. Save yourself a headache. Use a reputable company instead of this horrible company. Unfortunately, this requires that I give them a star. I would give them 0 if I could.

A contract was made, signed, and a large deposit was paid for My Gorilla Garage to “remove all tile and install epoxy flooring” in our business lobby/office/restroom area. The salesman took pictures and called the production manager to make sure the job was in their scope of business. He assured me that it was, and that they would take care of everything needed for the job. I offered to have to tile removed before his crew showed up, but he said that he preferred his guys to do the job. They were the “experts” and could make any repairs necessary before installing the new floor. Sounded great to me!
They called the morning of install to verify the kind of tile they would be removing (ceramic) and they showed up within their timeframe given. As soon as the installer walked in the door he said “how am I supposed to remove that?” He called his “new” production manager, and from there, the scope of work written, agreed to, and signed in the contract was rejected. I was then told that they “didn’t remove tile on jobs like this,” which was the complete opposite of what I was told/sold by the salesman and the contract agreement into which we entered. Naturally, the salesman didn’t answer any of my phone calls and wouldn’t respond at the time of this agreement meltdown.
After about an hour and half of going back and forth with the “new” production manager, he offered to apply the product over top of our existing tile. A process that his own installer told me NOT to do! The installer assured me that the product would not adhere to the tile for long, and would eventually peel up. Thankfully, he was honest with his assessment of our particular situation. It became clear to me that My Gorilla Garage could not follow through with the service and had to breach their end of the contract. So the installer left, and the job was not started.
After the installer left, my salesman finally called me back! He was spitting typical salesman jargon and telling me to “Hang tight. He was talking to the owner to see about getting more crews to my shop to complete the job.” He said he was having the crew (that just left) stay in the area because he would make it happen. Well...it’s 2 weeks later and I still have not heard from him!!
So I paid my deposit and received nothing in return. I’ve called the office many times to find out about the return of my money. I’ve been told on 2 different occasions that my money would be refunded by a certain time. I’ve also been told that the owner approved the refund. I have yet to see any money. I tried calling them again today on 2 different phone numbers and it rings busy.
This company has officially provided THE WORST customer service that one could ever expect. I clearly got sold by a salesman that makes all of the promises and has absolutely no follow through. Not even a courtesy call to let me know that they could not complete the job. Now I’m out a large sum of money with no attempt to credit my money back. Again, they’ve promised it was going to be refunded, but have failed to follow through!

Business said they do not remove ceramic tile and because this was a commercial deal, it was out of retails' hands. Business apologized for communication difficulty. Sales rep has been talked to and trained accordingly.

I had an appointment with them (2 months)ago to re-do my garage (on 10-17-19) On 10-14-19,I called to confirm the work date and they said they could not do it because they were short of employees and they would call me for a new installation date.I have called them 5 times and every time I have left a message but no one has returned my calls.

Contacted customer and scheduled an inspection of the floor to see what they are requesting to be serviced. After inspection established it would be best to do in Spring 2020.

We had Our front porch covered with Gorilla Garage sealant to cover a crack on service. We were assured the sealant would cover the crack permanently. (guarantee). The crack has appeared again. Gorilla Garage has been extremely slow to address this issue (2 to 3 months). These are just the latest of the issues we have had, (coloring was off) that was redone. We want the crack permanently gone as promised.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Nov 19, 2019

Customer sent in pictures and requested a crack on a front porch to be repaired. As clearly seen in the photos that were sent in the post has settled over time and cracked the concrete. The warranty of our floor does not cover this type of structural damage. I contacted customer to give them an update on the service request and was unable to reach anyone as of 11/19/2019. I left a voicemail with the company contact info if she had further questions regarding this matter.

they are clamming the crack was caused by a hand rail post. That is just not so, the crack in the porch is why we got the covering in the first place. Now they are saying their warranty won’t cover the returning crack. This is just a run around. In my opinion they should make some kind of restitution. Thank you.

Finally got a response from "My Gorilla Garage" representative, he said their warranty states thats cracks are not covered by the warranty. We sure was not informed of this when we had the job done! We were assured the crack that was in the porch would be GONE forever with this covering. Well it's NOT! We are supposed to hear from them on a repair sometime? at our cost. We have about had it with this company!

This company's salemen misinforms the facts about their product! Their customer service is awful, a bunch of LIES! The consumer should at least be told to stay away from this company.

This company has no idea what they are doing. They applied our garage floor and forgot to add any type of grip to prevent falls. With any water on it at all, it becomes like sheet of ice. We have had several injuries on it from slipping, including someone breaking their toes. We have to keep all of it covered in rugs to keep from being sued over this horrible flooring. Also, it cracked completely down the middle. One of their reps came out and said they would repair it along with fixing the floor. Right after that another rep came out and said it cracked because our foundation was falling. We had 2 different concrete men come out to verify that and they said My Gorilla Garage didn’t know what they were talking about. I don’t mind repairing the crack but this floor is a waste of money when you have to keep it covered with rugs. Part of it is peeling as well. I could go on and on about the terrible experience we have had with this company. This has been going on since 2014. They admitted they forgot to add the substance that would create grip but have yet to fix it.

Contacted customer and scheduled a time to inspect floor. 11/20/2019 will call customer and find out best time to look at floor.

Purchased flooring for both my garage and patio. The flooring in the garage has begin to separate and now has holes in it. This has been a problem for over a year. I have contacted the company multiple times in this period only to be ignored. Until recently, the company finally responded and sent someone to inspect. I was told a team would come and repair the issue, however the primary issue was a water barrier had not been installed. So, worked with company to have old floor removed, a water barrier installed and then the floor reinstalled. Installers were supposed to be onsite Feb, then Mar, Sep and supposedly scheduled for 9 Nov; now I'm trying to determine if they will ever fix this. My calls are ignored, voicemails go unanswered.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Nov 11, 2019

We have been having an issue with our phone system for the past few weeks. We have contacted Mr. and informed him that his concrete would have to be at least fifty five degrees to install a moisture barrier properly. It would be best to hold off until Spring of 2020. We are waiting on a response from Mr..

First, Gorilla Garage did not contact me to explain temp requirement, nor recommend wait until spring 2020.

Second, The company did not show on the 8th of Nov as scheduled. Ashley (Gorilla Garage) left a message at 3:50pm stating that the company was not sure why they were coming on the ninth. The company closes at 4pm, so little to no chance to call back. No show again on the 9th with no call back.

Third, finally was able to talk to Ashley on 11 Nov to discuss. No mention was made of temp requirement, nor scheduling in spring 2020. What Ashley did tell me was that the quote I received when the repair was first discussed was wrong and they would be charging more than the original price (why, the old service manager gave bad quotes and had issues in scheduling). In addition, the "flakes" used in the mix are an extra charge (same as currently installed). She did not know the actual new cost, but would get back with me. So, I left the call with the understanding that I would receive an updated quote and a scheduled installation date.

Not exactly the same response they sent you.

Regards

In addition to the response I provided to the Gorilla Garage input the following has taken place since:Gorilla Garage provided a new quote to repair/correct the issue. The new quote is $1500.00 more than the original costs that were agreed upon in my conversations with their company (Brittney).Gorilla Garage (Ashley) then stated that they have changed personnel since my initial contacts with the company and the new warranty manager states that since I did not provide a certified letter at the onset of the problem (over a year ago), that nothing I have been told up to this point is valid. They also stated that since the moisture barrier was not installed as a part of the initial installation (by the way never mention during the survey of the job) it is not their fault that the product is failing. In my recent conversations with Ashley she told me that a moisture test should have been done prior to the installation. To my knowledge this did not take place. If one had been done, moisture would have been an issue as I explained to the salesman that the reason we were installing the floor was to block water coming up thru the slab as we are on a high water table (no, I can't prove that... he said/he said).Anyway, I feel Gorilla Garage has basically now moved to the contract "cerified letter" as their response and although they are willing to repair, it is at my expense. The fifteen year warranty does not cover it.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Nov 12, 2019

We have communicated with Mr. there is a moisture issue with his concrete. The moisture issue is not covered under warranty. Mr. did not originally elect to have a moisture barrier installed knowing there was a cistern under his garage. Due to a moisture issue not being covered under warranty; we informed Mr. there will be a charge to tear up the entire surface to place a moisture barrier down and then reapply our coating. We did inform Mr. this will have to repaired no earlier than Spring of 2020. There are limitations related to temperature with our moisture barrier. Our warranty department is going strictly off of our contract and the contents there of. Mr. has received and signed a copy of our contract, and has been advised to review the contract in regards to what is covered under warranty.

There is not a cistern under the garage, not sure where that came from. Was never told of moisture barrier, nor was a moisture test (as business tells me they do) ever done to my knowledge. It is clear that we have come to a stop on this and I am stuck with an issue that the company does not want to address.

I had in the past recommended this company because I believed in the product and the sales pitch that it would "seal" my floor but I will not do so in the future. Bad business practices; lead a customer around an issue for over a year changing the "story" and now stating that after many missed appointments and double talk they have no responsibility.

I have two additional documents to attach that the system will not allow. One is a sample of the damage to the garage floor and the other showing that we also had our patio done at the same time. As stated previously I have been attempting to get this fixed since 2018. After numerous calls to the company, they sent a representative, Mike D I believe, to evaluate the situation. This was on Feb 13, 2019. At that time he did not mention the letter and explained to me that the moisture barrier should have been offerred to avoid the situation we are experiencing. I was working with Brittney at that time and after several more months I was told it would cost $125.00 plus labor to remove the flooring, install the barrier and reinstall the flooring. It was scheduled for 20 Jun. 20 Jun came and went; no show no call just nothing. Talked to company again and was told it would cost $415.00 to accomplish and scheduled for 13 Sep 2019. 13 Sep cam and went; no show no call just nothing. Talked to company again only to find that they didn't know why nobody showed up. Resheduled a third time for 8 Nov 2019. 8 Nov 2019 came and went; no show. Recieved a voice mail stating that they did not know what they were coming to do... This is were the whole we have different people, whatever I was told in the past didn't matter as this is now. Told they would not complete for the original quoted price and they would provide an updated quote. Quote increased by 500% and oh by the way company will not cover as warrenty work as the "provide a certified letter within three days" clause was now being applied. I admit I did not originally provide such a letter but assumed that since the company was working with me (or so I thought) and did not mention it that all was good and nothing was required.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Nov 22, 2019

We would be happy to fix your floor and add moisture barrier if you would like to do so. You will have to pay because that is a completely new floor and we will have to buy and install additional materials that you did not purchase from us originally.

I suppose that as a business I'd like to charge my customers twice for a job. This company led me on for over a year, offered a reasonable cost share to fix the issue and then refused the agreement based on a contract technicality. The excuse that the company had employees that were not representing the company interest and now there is a new employee in the warranty/repair position so all promises are invalid. Being offered a repair at 4 times the agreed price just does not work for me.

I will no longer regard this as a reputable company, will absolutely not recommend them any longer, and will absolutely let people know of my experience with them (Social Media is a wonderful tool).
