My Gorilla Garage Reviews (%countItem)

We signed a contract to have them resurface our garage, however upon further investigation we saw they had major issues with customers in the past, so we asked for a refund and to revoke the contract before work was started. Many correspondences have occurred with the company since then, even with the owner, Mr. Cross, who said our refund would be granted. It has now been 7 months, and we have still not received a refund.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Dec 03, 2019

Refund in progress. We will communicate with customer and get this resolved.

Check sent 12/6/2019.

We had our garage floor done. Contract says lifetime warranty. The apron (outside of garage door) has faded. We have been in contact with them 3 times to correct. They keep delaying the process and won't answer our phone calls. They came out 1 time to correct and had wrong color of flooring. Made another appointment for them to fix and they didn't show up and no phone call. They provided no resolution.

We have contacted Mr. and have him scheduled for 11/15/19 to resolve this issue.

Gorilla Garage is not honoring their warranty, will not return calls or keep scheduled commitments, Overspray on garage door, cracks reappearing, dull finish. I first contacted Gorilla Garage May of 2018

My Gorilla Garage Response • Oct 15, 2019

We have scheduled this customer for a service on 10/29/19 as a secondary stop. We also waived the charge for the repair of a cracks on the patio caused by substrate issues. We did inform customer this repair may not last for the life of the concrete if the cracks continues to split. They most likely will need to replace that area of concrete in the future.

*** Gorilla Garage was here on 11/14/19, but no resolution was made. I was told that I would be contacted sometime next week with what they will do. They can not do anything during the cold weather and what they do would be done next spring. I understand What ever is agreed to must be in writing. But the issue is not resolved. Sincerely

My Gorilla Garage Response • Nov 19, 2019

Mr.,

Thank you for your patience while processing your service request. As of 11/19/2019 we will be unable to repair damage to your sidewalk as requested because the damage was made by concrete failure which is not covered by our warranty. As we explained to you I would be happy to coat the damaged/cracked areas if you choose to have the concrete repaired. There would be a charge to prepare, prime, and seal the new area. If you would like an estimate for that to be completed please let us know.

My last telephone conversation with GG was with Jacob on Dec. 12th. I emailed GG with what we (I think ) we agreed on. I asked for a reply in writing (if I am wrong). I understand nothing will be done until March/April of 2020. Please keep this complaint open until the issue is resolved.

On April 15, 2019 a salesman from Gorilla Garage came to our home to discuss resurfacing our carport/driveway/adjacent 18x18's. We signed a contract for specifically those three areas. We gave a $1,550 deposit with the work to be done on Sept. 10, 2019. Because of several delays by them, they came today Sept. 30, 2019. They advised that the 18x18's couldn't be done because of the concrete makeupwith which they were built. This area make up 1/3 of the area being done. Since the job could not be done as contracted, we requested our deposit be returned. The refused saying they could still do part of the job. We don't want to pay for 2/3 to be new joined to 1/3 being old and not even close to the finish we had contracted for. They refused to return our deposit.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Oct 08, 2019

Yes, the original sales date was April 15th of this year, but it was the homeowner that chose September 10th as an install date, not us. Our normal lead time is 7-10 days. On Aug. 9th, we reached out to them to see if we can install it sooner and they decline. On 9/9 we called them that due to weather (rain) we can not install their job because it is all outside areas and reset it for 9/16. On 9/16 we had 2 full crews off due to several reasons (death in the family, on was hospitalized with the flu, etc..) so we moved it to the 30th. We called on the 28th to confirmed install. we went out on the 30th and found that part of the job required to coat 18"X18" free floating concrete squares, approx 150 square feet of the 670 total job. (about 20% of the total, not a third of the job as stated). I personally spoke to *** and explained that we typically don't coat these. She instantly got irate and starting screaming at me. Now mind you I started recorded most of the conversation because of what she was saying. She threaten to get an attoney and sue us, said she would bury us and said she does not want to hear anything I had to say. I never got the chance to say let us do the main area now and we will figure out the rest. NOT at any point I said we would not return her deposit. She said, "I sign a contract and I expect you to fulfill it". Well after talking to other, we decided that we can coat the pavers. I reached out to talked to *** on Friday 4th, explained on a voice mail we can do the total job as contracted. Friday afternoon he stills says no.

Now the question is, they wanted US to honor the contract and do the work. Now that we said we can, now THEY dont want to honor their side of it. Bottom line is we can do the job, prepared to do the job and honor the contract now they want to cancel. That is not a reason to return the deposit.

Installed 10.4.18. Top coat was not applied correctly. A representative looked at the floor and agreed it needed to be redone. Since that time I have been on their schedule for service 7 different times and they canceled all appointments. I am still waiting for them to follow through.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Sep 30, 2019

Customer is scheduled for a service visit 10/5/2019. Contacted customer to confirm appointment.

I have recapped my experience with My Gorilla Garage below:

• Initial installation date – moved back two weeks with no explanation
• Installation performed (Aug 15, 2019) but incomplete – part of knee wall missed, expansion joints missed, acrylic coating not fully covering the floor

I called Gorilla Garage the next business day after the installation, and they said they would handle the situation, but first I needed a service inspector to come see my garage.

• Service Inspection #1 – MGG called to cancel and reschedule the day of (missed time at work due to staying home to meet inspector)
• Service Inspection #2 – MGG inspector simply doesn’t show up (missed time at work due to staying home to meet inspector)
• Service Inspection #3 – MGG inspector calls day of to handle over the phone (missed time at work due to staying home to meet inspector)
• Service Date #1 – MGG calls the day of the inform Service Team not coming (missed time at work due to staying home to meet inspector)
• Service Date#2 – I called the day before the service was scheduled in the morning to find out when MGG would be coming the following day. I was assured I would receive a phone call back with the time frame – never received a phone call or email or text, MGG never showed up.

A full month and a half after my installation, the job remains incomplete. I have missed four days at work to meet them for appointments that were cancelled the day of or simply missed altogether.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Oct 02, 2019

Service scheduled for 10/11/2019. Customer has been notified of install time.

On 4/22/19 I entered a contract with Gorilla Garage to apply a finish to my garage. The original date of install was Sept 2019.I called the office and spoke with Brianna and asked for a sooner date of install and she gave me a date of 5/23/19.On 5/21/19 I spoke to Brianna and she said that 5/23/19 date of install was a go.I cleaned out the garage on 5/22/19 and waited for the crew to show on 5/23.On 5/23 Gorilla Garage was a no show and I called the office to ask where the crew was.Charles proceeded to tell me hat he left me a voicemail on 5/22 that he did not have the resin.I told Charles that I had no record of his voicemail.Charles selected another date of 9/25 for the install and I agreed.I called Brianna on 9/22 and was told that 9/25 was a go so I presented to clean out the garage again. On 9/25 Gorilla Garage was a no show again.I called Charles and he said he did not show due to rain delay.Charles also said that he left a voice message about the delay and I told him again that I had no record of a voicemail.Charles told me that Gorilla Garage would do the job on Friday 9/27 and would call to confirm on 9/26.I waited the entire day for the call from a Charles to confirm and no call was received.I moved the entire contents of my garage which had been in the driveway since Tuesday back into the garage.I called Charles of Gorilla Garage on 9/27 and asked for my deposit of $1366.00 to be refunded to me and I was declined.Charles of Gorilla Garage said that his crew was at my house on 9/27 and that my garage was not ready.I told Charles that I was home and why he did not ring the door bell to speak to me.Charles did not have a answer for my last question!

My Gorilla Garage Response • Oct 12, 2019

We here at My Gorilla Garage have about 30 phone lines. There are main numbers as well as what are called "hunt" numbers that search for the next available line to make an outgoing call. these are not identifiable with the Gorilla Garage name. With phone technology as it it today, we believe the home owner has his phone set up not to receive calls that are not identifiable, like spam or robo calls. We have tried countless times after countless time to try to communicate with him and can not get thru. We was there on the 27th as promised and the knocked and knocked with no answer. Mr. later that day called and said he was watching TV and must have not heard the knocking. We want to do the job. Thank you.

We are very disappointed that Gorilla Garage was unsuccessful all summer in finding a concrete contractor who would be willing to cap the existing garage floor so Gorilla Garage can reapply their warranted product again. After weeks of us waiting for concrete estimates, nothing can be done to recap the garage floor is my understanding from Service Manager Joe ***.

Based on our conversations with Joe over the last several weeks, it seems that the solution forced upon us is to replace the garage floor which will be no small task and more construction than we ever thought would be necessary and we are greatly disappointed. According to Joe, the garage remedy would have to go through Gorilla Garage’s Insurance Provider ***.

Joe stated Gorilla Garage would want to use *** who had provided us the first concrete floor replacement estimate. When the concrete company first were out to give the estimate, they were booking into late October. Unfortunately, *** is now booking into December and would prefer to do this work in the Spring if a general contractor has to be involved. In order for us to have a garage for our vehicles over the winter and to secure contractors it looks as if scheduling this job would be sometime in *** 2020.

Joe mentioned that Gorilla Garage would personally contact ***, a General Contractor in Cincinnati that they preferred...since we need a general contractor to do additional framing/stucco work that will be required to install a new concrete floor at our address to meet build code requirements. Joe mentioned he would call Brad from *** and they would come out to our home to obtain an estimate. We were not contacted and received no call back after 2 phone attempts and messages were left with Gorilla Garage receptionists. We had also emailed Joe on 8/31 about when this would be scheduled or if they were coming out this past week as he had implied the week prior and received no response.

As I understand it, ***, Gorilla Garage’s insurance provider was also supposed to contact us the week of 8/26/2019 to visit our property. Today is 9/6/2019 and we have received no call.

Joe and I talked at length about the issues we have been through with Gorilla Garage (poor installations, poor customer service and multiple staff turnover of installers and management). We discussed if the garage floor remedy could not be completed until the Spring of 2020, my husband and I explicitly would want Gorilla Garage to put in writing what is to be done to remedy this situation and we want to have all parties (Concrete/General Contractor/Gorilla Garage) committed to dates and coordinated to get this done in the Spring and to finally get this resolved and completed after almost two years of hassles and frustration.

After 3 emails, 7 calls and no responses in the last 2 weeks from Gorilla Garage and multiple requests and promises from Joe and Jon Cross that they would put a remedy in writing for the floor issues...We have received nothing.

We have lost all faith in Gorilla Garage, their product, their professionalism, their customer service and their integrity.

We will be contacting *** your financing consumer lender next week and the Revdex.com to make them aware of our experience, your companies quality issues and customer service.
After 18 months and many promises to make this right our garage floor is ruined and this company is not responding or taking responsibility to remedy or stand behind their products. It is very sad.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Oct 09, 2019

We from Gorilla Garage have agreed that this job is going to be addressed in the spring time due to the extent of the work. We will be getting with our insurance company so they can set the appointment to meet with Mrs.. After that meeting, we will notify Mrs. as to when we will set up meeting times to get the estimates with the contractors to get Mrs. residence brought up to their standards. Again once the insurance has reached out to have the adjuster come out to residence, we will have contractors schedule their meetings to get the proper work done and the proper pricing.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
In all fairness, this response is similar to phone conversations we have been having with this company since April of this year. Where I appreciate the response again from them to the Revdex.com and I understand that this work to repair our garage cannot commence until the Spring, I have yet to receive anything from the company in writing about what remedy is to take place. We were told an insurance adjuster would be calling us 2 months ago and did not receive a call. We were told a general contractor would be coming out with a GG representative 2 months ago. That also did not happen.

I unfortunately cannot accept this proposal as I have received nothing in writing from this company as to their intentions to resolve this issue. I also have been told that I would be contacted by several entities by this company to get this process arranged and months have gone by with no action or communication from the company or their insurance provider. Good faith is still in question here.

I simply will not resolve this complaint until I receive in writing the plan and am contacted by the insurance adjuster. It will take at least 6 months to get this type of construction repair coordinated and scheduled.

Follow through needs to be in writing and acted upon after 4 months of no action and nothing in writing.

Regards

This company is completely non-responsive to customer needs: calls not returned, lack of transparency of why work is not getting done, no ability to talk to an individual to provide information.

We installed Gorilla Garage several years ago. We got a crack on the apron of two of our garage door openings. We sent photos to Gorilla and they said that they could come and repair the area but a cost would most likely be incurred. We agreed and they scheduled at the end of May 2018.
They called and cancelled because the service tech was in an auto accident. After waiting they scheduled for Oct. 2018 but was canceled because of rain. We spoke or scheduled or rescheduled 3 more times in October 2018.
December 4th left a message then we spoke to someone on December 5th and scheduled again in January 2019 The weather wasn't good so we scheduled for June of 2019. They didn't show up and I called but they told me that I was on a long list of repairs and that I would have to wait for possibly 1 or 2 years. Then just this week they called and scheduled a time to come and repair the areas.
The men showed up. Looked at the needed repair, peeled more of the gorilla surface away and then said that they couldn't repair it as it looked like I had a water problem and that they didn't repair cement. We didn't have a water problem but after over 1 year water has gotten into the cracked areas because it is outside and has discenegrated the cement underneath. If it had been repaired back when it occurred this would have been a simple fix but now we are stuck with a cement problem and a messed up coated flooring. Read the reviews... their flooring surface material is great but the service is HORRIBLE! I would NEVER recommend this company.

I gave a $600. deposit April, 2018 installation to be 7/19 or sooner. I realize mine is an outside installation and because when it rains my 2nd level deck needs to dry for 3 days before installation, and because I had to remove all furniture, plants, grill, rug into my kitchen, etc for the work to be done, I could not have the installation in Sept. last year. This year when I called to have installation scheduled, I was told "new regulations" required a rep needed to reinspect/measure again. That took at least 3 weeks because the rep was from *** and there are not many jobs in . A very nice man finally came and said someone would call and schedule installation. Then in July we had 12 straight days without rain, still not scheduled. I called again, was told scheduled 7/17. I moved all furniture etc into the house, 2 men came and checked said still moisture but if no more rain it would be scheduled in 3 days. No rain so I called again was to installation would be Thurs. I called to find it was not scheduled until Fri. between 10-12am. I waited until 1:45 called again. was told someone would call me
I called at 3:30, and said I was tired of living with my patio furniture in my kitchen was told they could schedule for 8/19 . At that time I said I was tired of waiting and wanted my deposit refunded. Was told it would have to be approved by John, he would call. 1 week later no call, I called again left word if I did not hear from MyGorillaGarage by Fri 8/9 I would contact you. I still have not heard from them.

About 4 years ago we had our 3 car Garage coated by My Gorilla Garage. It looked great but after about 1 year it started to discolor in some areas. I called and they came out right away to check it out and said that it was how the floor was installed. They set up a time to come out and fix it. Had to reschedule a couple times due to weather but this past week they came out and totally redid the entire Garage at no charge. I am very pleased with how it looks again and they really do live up to the Warranty.

Thank you Mr. We have a great team of people that truly work hard each and every day to take care of our customers. We appreciate and value your business.

I have attempted to contact this company regarding a warranty repair / replacement. I have called multiple times and they never answer the phone nor do they return phone calls. After multiple attempts I was able to reach someone to set up an appt nearly 2 weeks later. They called a few days prior to cancel that appt and reschedule for today. Today's appt was at 12:30 and they are a no call, no show. Once again I have tried calling approx. 20 times today and no answer.

Failed to return to the worksite and fix the poor workmanship issues. Keeps scheduling appointments ( going on now for almost a year) and then cancels. Do not trust this company

Five years ago we had Gorilla Garage install their coating to our garage floor. Last September we notices a small place where the floor was bubbling up. We contacted Gorilla Garage and sent pictures of the area of the floor that was comming up. Due to a change in personnel, our paperwork was lost but when we contacted them about the delay they told us of the lost paperwork and immediately worked with us to determine the fix for the floor. While it took several months to get the floor corrected due to weather (rain, snow, exterme cold) we now have a fully replaced floor done under the warrenty. The initial installation was not done correctly but Gorilla Garage made certain that this time there will be no issued. This installation was done with professionalism...they are to be commended for honoring the warranty is such a positive way.

My floor was installed 5/21/19. It was sticky for two weeks in a spot 7'x8". It was peeling in tiny clumps. The company has secretaries that answer the phone but the people you need to speak to do not answer or call you back. I bet I have called over 15 times. They're always at an emergency. Charles came to the house even though it was suppose to be someone else who couldn't make it. He left and said he would get back to me after taking pictures for the man that didn't show up. He never contacted me. I finally got ahold of him and he said he was sending out the manager on 7/2/19. The secretary said his name was Rick. He never showed up nor did they call. I need my floor fixed.

I entered into a contract with Gorilla Garage on the 1st day of June 2018. I paid the initial deposit of $627.00, however the company failed to complete the job prior to the installation date of August 17, 2018. Someone from this company did come out in September of 2018 and said that the patio that was to be done was entirely too wet and leaves were falling down on the patio. They indicated to me that they would have to reschedule the appointment and that someone would call me. I said that was fine however no one ever contacted me to reschedule the appointment. I attempted to contact the company prior to leaving for Florida for the winter to cancel the contract as I knew I would not be back until late April of 2019. No one returned my telephone calls and as a result I no longer desire to have my back patio resurfaced.

In light of the fact that no one from the company showed up to my home prior to the installation date and no one ever returned my calls to reschedule the date the company is clearly in breach of contract and I have the right for full return of my $627.00 deposit.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Jul 11, 2019

Check in the amount of $627.00 was mailed out on July 11,2021

My Gorilla Garage Response • Jul 11, 2019

it was sent today 7/11/19

Salesman came out and looked at flooring took pictures. We made a deposit of 600.00 and got a install date
Then right before install a installer of the company came out looked at the floor and determined they could not install it on our floor and gave really no good answer why. I ask about my deposit and was told it was forwarded to the Accounts department. They are not responding to any contacts. Its been 11 days since they said the couldn't do the floor and haven't seen any refund or heard from them.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Jun 19, 2019

refund was sent out 6/19/2019 in the amount of $600.00

Chris from Gorilla Garage met with me to sell me their services for our 3 car garage, a lanai and the front porch and steps and we decided to use the *** Interest Free offer to finance the $5,534 for the total job. At the point of sale and contract execution, we told Chris that we were not sure that we would do the lanai (valued at $1875.50) and would decide soon. He advised us to take advantage of the interest-free offer now and if we decided to not do the lanai; Gorilla Garage would simply refund the money or credit the card for the amount of $1875.50. We made the request in September 2018, shortly after the garage floor was installed. They had to schedule another time to return to do the front porch and stairs. Given the weather and their limited schedule for ***, the porch and steps were not completed until April 22, 2019. I have been calling to get the refund since December to now, and I have spoken directly to Jennifer (who is supposedly now gone from the company) and John Cross who is the General Manager. On March 6, 2019 I spoke on the phone with John who promised me that the check for $1875.50 would be sent out the next week. He actually knew the exact number off the top of his head, so he was clearly aware of my persistent requests for reimbursement. Kyle and Jim were others that I spoke with other than the receptionist, and I was always referred to John Cross. NO ONE has ever responded via call, email or message for the past eight months. I left more than 15 messages since my first call in September. I am exasperated with so many attempts and hope that Revdex.com can resolve this issue. I hope that the floors hold up since I now assume that the "life-time warranty" will be worthless.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Jul 11, 2019

Check for 1875.50 was mailed out on July 11,2021

In june of 2016 we had a garage floor installed. The floor was guaranteed until it started to fall apart. In December 2018 I called the company and Talked with Jennifer ***. She told me that during that period of time they installed the floors incorrectly and they would come out and replace the entire floor with no cost. They were scheduled three different times to come with the most recent May 20,2019. When they finally had Joe come out he blamed settling and that they would have to review what they could do. I got called by Brittany ands she initailly told me that they couldn't fix it for free because it didn't fall under the warranty. This was after they told me it was installed improperly back in October. Anyways we agree to a $700 fee to repair the floor. I agreed only because I had no other options. After Joes visit I had other contractors come out and they all agreed the floor wasn't done properly? I didn't want to fight it any longer and agreed to let them fix it, that was supposed to be May 20, 2019. That didn't happen.

My Gorilla Garage Response • Jun 04, 2019

I have reviewed this complaint and have contacted Mr. via email. We have set a firm date of July 16, 2019 to go and take care of Mr. issues with his floor. He has responded back and has said that this date will work for him. We will fix all issues with this floor.

Thanks,

Joe
