National Student Servicing Reviews (134)

[redacted]Client came to us to receive a program switch because her payment was too high. We explained in full detail exactly how the process works and what we were going to do. The client asked for a temporary forbearance...

and when we called to get that in place we received no answer she also did not respond to emails so we were not able to put the forbearance in place. We did however provide every service we offered and agreed to continue working with the client. National Student Servicing explains to all clients that we are a 3rd party providing services to clients looking to receive help with their federal loans we did exactly that for this client.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I have had a horrible experience with this company. I was told from the beginning that they were going to buy out my school loans and consolidate them for $699 up front and $20 a month. It ended up that they just consolidated them with my previous loan company which I pay $0.00 to and just forwarded the documentation I sent them to my loan company. They lied to me and they keep charging me monthly fees. They are not allowing me to cancel my account. I ended up paying $699 plus 20.00 a month when I needed to pay $0.00.

National Student Servicing will mail you your signed contract. In regards to phone calls we are not able to share audio files. We apologize for any inconvenience and are still very willing to service you with any student loan needs you may have. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Client [redacted] signed up with National Student Servicing on January 7th 2015. When a client signs up with us it is stated and I am taking this directly from the agreement signed by Ms. [redacted]...RECITALS:
WHEREAS NSS business is providing Document Processing Services to individuals with...

federal student loans and seeking to
consolidate the loans through programs offered by the Department of Education (DOE); and
WHEREAS Student requests NSS to perform in good faith, the following services, ("the Services"): (a) Research potential DOE
programs that are/or may be available to Student, (b) Present results to the Student with available options, (c) Compile and process
all Students' required DOE Consolidation paperwork selected from the options provided to Student, and (d) Submit completed
Consolidation paperwork to the DOE.
*Student also acknowledges that they have been advised that any and all programs offered are free, and they have the ability to
complete all such program requirements for themselves.
*NSS is not affiliated, partnered with or associated with the DOE (Department of Education) in any way shape or form. NSS is a
third-party document processing company that specializes in Federal Student Loan Consolidations, and Rehabilitation's for such
students. On January 7th 2015 at 4:38pm Ms. [redacted]s application was submitted through the Department of Education to consolidate her student loans . On February 8th Ms. [redacted] was consolidated and placed on an Income Based Repayment Program through  Fed Loans Servicing with a monthly paymetn of $0.00 per month. On February 24th 2015 at 5:58 pm Ms. [redacted]s consolidation was completed. One minute later we sent Ms. [redacted] her application for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness because she works in the public sector and qualifies for the forgiveness stated. We also called the client and left a voice mail stating these achievements. In Retrospect...Ms. [redacted] signed up with our services and signed an agreement disclosing what it is we do to help our clients in need. We have successfully reached every goal promised and expected. Ms. [redacted]'s is not entitled to a refund nor has one been granted.

Dear Mr. [redacted]
Your complaint about National Student Servicing has reached my desk.
I have reviewed your information and spoke with those involved with the
exception of the representative you said was rude and unprofessional but
you were unable to name him or...

her. I have read your response to the Revdex.com
and will answer your points below:
1. Each of our Counselors has been thoroughly trained and would not act in an
unprofessional manner even if being pressured with demands they can not grant.
The only reason they might hang up on an individual is that individual would not
accept their word about a procedure or policy'"and began insistence. Our counselors
are are well trained professionals and here only to assist, with their knowledge and
training, our clients to get the right program for the needed consolidation.
2. Our power of attorney form has been accepted by Federally Approved Lenders
and the Federal Government's Department of Education. Sometimes in an effort to
expedite for a client we have a copy from a copy and due to the slight fade it
not appear as original type. However the lenders and service rs have always
accepted it. If yours was slightly faded due to this process, I apologize. You signed
the Power of Attorney on 8/26/14.
3. We have over 40 Employees and each has their own phone line plus we have 10
reserve lines so it is hard to believe it would be difficult to get in touch with us
unless you called at some unusual time or you failed to leave a message or you
expected a call during non business hours.
4. We do not resolve your issues toward getting a student loan consolidation, we
assist you by explaining what is necessary to document your background so your
loan consolidation can be approved based on underwriting standards. It is up to
you to resolve your issues, we can not manufacture documentation for you.
5. We are here and exist solely for the purpose of helping you arrange a livable
debt, monthly payments and we provide a knowledgeable professional service to do
just that within the scope of the Government's 5 consolidation programs.
Unfortunately we have to pay our staff to perform these services so that can pay
their rent, buy food and etc.
6. We have provided consolidation services for many Veterans, who are very happy
·with our Services, but they finished the process and received their consolidations.
They did not quit before finishing because they felt offended. We appreciate your
service to your country. I am a Vietnam Veteran myself and fought on the front line
as a Rifleman and Point man.
7. Our company has over 5,700 Clients who pleased with our consolidation services.
8. We provide professional services and we do not expect donations, but we do
expect to be paid for the time we spend providing services. Our employees are very
conscientious and do not charge unnecessary time to clients.
9. I am very sorry you changed your mind and decided to quit our process, but it was
your decision.
10. Our prices are very competitive within the industry. The reason you had to pay
a little more is that you were in default on your loans more than 240 days and were
sent to collections and needed to go thru a rehabilitation process before your
consolidation could be submitted and approved. It takes our counselor's then and
our rehabilitation's departments time to structure your rehab in addition to processing
your consolidation.
11. I have also reviewed your contract and it appears that it is you that are not
performing . You are according to the contract to provide complete information and
or documents that NSS requests. You were sent letters of request on 8/28, 10/22 and
10/26 and did not reply. Also according to the contract, you agreed to no refunds
after 24 hours.
12. Since 75% of the work has been done toward your consolidation and rehab
processing, we offered you $300, which is a 33% refund against a contract which is
a "no refund" contract. We were being more than fair with 75% done and 25%
of the work remaining.
Please contact me if you would like to get $300 in spite of the no refund
contract you agreed to.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

In
regards to the Processing Fee National student servicing did not charge $[redacted] paid the standard $[redacted] processing fee. The explanation was far from...

brief
and the enrollment call took over an hour. The $[redacted] dollar service fee was
explained during that call and also intialed for in the contract under section
4 Fees: Student agrees to pay NSS a Consolidation Processing fee totaling
$[redacted] and thereafter, a monthly maintenance and administration fee payment of
$[redacted]. Furthermore every client is required to go through a compliance call
before enrollment during this recorded call a National Student Servicing
Representative reads this statement
" Much like a [redacted] Federal student loan consolidations require you to reapply annually
should you chose not to reapply you automatically get put on the highest
repayment. Your monthly service fee insures that you will stay on the lowest
repayment possible until your loan payment is complete. This fee also comes
with a few bonuses including automatic applying for lower terms interest rate
and payments, credit monitoring and million dollar protection which means if
your identity is compromised you’ll have a team of expert processors to undue
the damage. Do you understand the monthly service fee of $** paid directly to
National Student Servicing." At which point [redacted] said yes. All clients
receive a copy of their contract when they enroll National Student Servicing
has record that the email was sent and opened. National Student servicing
allows all clients to opt out of the monthly service fee at any time. [redacted] never called into cancel. Her monthly payment did not go through and July and
we stopped pulling payments at that point. We sent multiple emails and letters
and also tried multiple times to call with no response on [redacted] part. She
was receiving the monthly services during this time of no payment. We work very
hard on making sure every client is serviced properly and do require payment
for our services
Best Regards

I have read this complaint and I have read the noted in the CRM and also
I have listened to the recorded call and this complaint is conflicting
with what I have reviewed. The agreement is very specific and so are the
customer services representatives in their explanations . There is a 24
...

hour period to cancel where you can have whatever funds you have paid
returned tom you no questions asked. It is also made clear that if the
process of the consolidation is altered in any way by the client it
cancels the contract all together. All three of these factors were met.
It is not as matter of changing a mind. It is a matter of following a
protocol which is put in place. This phone call was placed to one of my
employees at 8:45 am August 20th 2015. at the end of the call it was
stated that a manager contacting the client. this Revdex.com complaint was made
the same day not long after the call. I believe it to be premature and
not at all corresponding with the file or the phone call. The client has
can meat anytime to discuss an exit strategy and review of the file.
Please contact the customer service department and ask for the Director
of Processing.

Ms. [redacted] Enrolled with National Student Servicing on March 24th 2014 we submitted her consolidation application on
border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-color: #cccccc;">April 1st and it was completed august 14th. National Student Servicing has no records of a cancellation request until the client received news that the consolidation was done we also could find no missed calls from Ms. [redacted]. The only consolidation application that was submitted for Ms [redacted] is the one that National Student Servicing did, no other company was involved and may have acted poorly in signing up Ms. [redacted] or Ms [redacted] may have accidentally signed with two companies The consolidation is finalized and everything is in place just as National Student Servicing promised with the servicer we promised. We did all the work we were asked to do even though Ms [redacted] was not responding to multiple emails and calls that we left for her in regards to her application. We would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have

We have reviewed all the calls that took place between Ms [redacted] and National Student Servicing. At no point was Ms [redacted] told that we were going to service her loan. We did however explain that we are a service much like a tax service and that the 499 was for that process. We fully completed...

the work that we agreed to accordingto the contract which makes Ms [redacted] ineligible for a refund. We did agree to cancel the rest of the payments owed for the service. The consolidation was completed on 10/31/2014

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Absolute fraud, I started my process with them over 6 months ago and they never processed my stuff. They pulled $1000 out of my account, I had to call them over and over again everyday - no call back as of yet. I have left multiple messages with them but nothing. Save yourself the money and do it yourself.

4. We have provided consolidation services for thousands, who are very happy with our services, they paid and finished their process and received their consolidations. Also a lot of them wanted us to handle their annual renewals so they then paid their agreed upon monthly service fee so their renewal could be submitted and reapproved annually when it was due without a large lump sum cost.
5. Our company has over 5,700 Clients, who pleased with our consoladation services.

11. In your letter to the Revdex.com you stated to them that we had scammed you, This is not true. You agreed to our processing and packaging services to obtain your consoliation.
12. We do not pay any fees to Fed Loans. Our fees are for our services for which
you agreed to and are calling a scam after our work was performed on your behalf and you received the consolidation that we submitted and packaged you for.

Hi [redacted],

National Student Servicing does not charge for services that are free. While it is true that you are able to apply yourself for a federal loan consolidation and IBR program the services that we provide go far deeper then just a federal loan consolidation. National...

Student servicing provides a complete comprehensive breakdown of all programs and what the payments will be like for the years to come. Our experienced processors are prepared to handle any and all situations that may come up during your loan repayment. The processing fee exists to cover the initial processing of paper work and the constant updating from the time the application is submitted to the time it's approved. We charge a monthly fee because we reapply you annually for the IBR and also automatically apply you for lower terms and interest rates. You also get safe Id lock which is a credit monitoring service with million dollar protection. These services are not free. National Student Servicing makes it clear to all clients that they are paying for something they could do themselves much like you pay someone to file your taxes for you. We provided the work that we agreed to and fully stated in the contract exactly what services we provided. Unfortunat[redacted] do to these factors you are ineligible for a refund.  Please give us a call if you have any further questions.

The is a big pressure organization that not only cannot perform what is promised but cons you into believing they can. Takes your money and then makes sure that they never keep the contract and issue your refund when asked for it. DO NOT USE THEM. Rip off artists

Have nothing but great things to say about this company, always available. I just called the 1800 number and [redacted] resolved my issues and was so nice. They lowered my student loan payments dramatically. I am so relieved I did this, my student loans were very stressful.

National Student Servicing would first like to address the issue of multiple calls. When submitting your information for Student Loan Debt relief you opt in to sending your information to multiple companies. After reviewing our call history only two outbound calls where placed via National one that...

was not answered and one that was. Upon enrollment all contracts where signed and National Student servicing completed all work as agreed to per your contract.

Originally we were not going to allow a cancelation as we did finish all the work and you received a federal consolidation as of 10/14/14 we had not received the full payment for our services. National Student Servicing is not a scam we clearly state what we do in who we are before enrollment. Although we where not paid for services rendered we have decided to not pursue you further.
