New Windows for America Reviews (67)

We are very pleased with the windows we purchased from New Windows for America The windows are triple pane and draft free We felt the prices were reasonable and everyone we had contact were very helpful and professional

The customer service was excellentOur home was treated respectfully; they cleaned up well after leavingFriendly and patient serviceThe product is everything they advertisedWe live near a highway and train tracksBoth sounds are significantly decreasedWe are very pleased

Dear Mr [redacted] , Thank you for your business- it is with great disappointment that we received this Revdex.com complaintIt is frustrating to both you as a valued customer and us as a customer oriented business The matter is an on-going service issue that we have diligently tried to correctSome unfortunate mistakes have happened but it certainly cannot be said that we have not stood behind trying to resolve the matterI personally measured the jobMeasuring for new windows is a detailed and multifactorial taskMy first objective is to make the window fit properly allotting for the maximum amount of glass spaceThe max glass space is most pleasing to most customersI noted you had blinds and made my calculations to OVER fit the blinds as opposed to UNDER fitting the blinds- Under fitting requires custom cutting the blinds down- It is not something we like to do so I purposely over fit the blinds by ½” per side- This also allows our installers a tolerable amount of room to square the windows upon installation- I’m sorry that you were not pleased with the ½” per side- I owned the concern and tried to accommodate you as is the way of our customer service- First, I asked the installer to modify the casing so it would fit tighter to your blinds- He misscut one piece of casing- Accidents happen, but I was just as discouraged as you were that the problem was not resolved- I certainly needed to own this problem because it was our fault- I ordered a new piece of casing for you- I personally came out to fix the problem but it could not be resolved because you said you didn’t like the color match and/or wood grain pattern- I tried to explain that there are many color and woodgrain variations in the beauty of the oak wood species- I could tell you were peevishly discontented by your cursing language- Despite your swearing at me, I again owned the problem but this time ordered a whole new trim ‘kit’ (an assembled jamb and casing unit) at our expense (our vendors do not give these away for free)- When that trim kit came in I again personally came out to resolve the problem- Again you denied the product because of woodgrain and color issues- The expletives you used toward the company were not helpful in the situation but you are still a valued customer and I want to get this trim kit to your liking so I reodered it again- I have asked the trim kit company to meticulously assemble your trim kit with hand picked pieces that color match uniformly and have similar woodgrain- Mr [redacted] , I have honestly tried my best for you sir as I do for all our customers- When you ask all the readers of your letter to not consider our business, this actually pains me personally- It takes a long time to build a reputation- We strive to get everything right the first time- It’s our company philosophy- We want our customers to know that- Sometimes mistakes happen but we proudly stand behind correcting them- Just like trying so hard to correct this trim kit problem- I don’t believe this should be an attack against our whole business but rather a testimony to our service department- Thank you, Rudy ***, Production Mgr New Windows For America e

+1

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2014/07/30) */ Our policy at New Windows for America is to address any water intrusion issue from a customer immediatelyObviously that did not happen hereOur employee did not handle this in accordance with our policies However, in reviewing the email chain and past service with the customer our employee had a reason to at least question the issueIn the past we went out to service a window problem and they were not windows installed by NWFA Furthermore, I have reviewed our email history (junk mail, deleted mail, etc) and no pictures were ever received by NWFA nor was any email ever addressed to me, [redacted] , President of NWFA Also, our warranty covers caulking for a period of two yearsBoth window installations were greater than two years oldAs I said earlier, we will go investigate any water leak, as we want to avoid damage to homeCaulking is a maintenance item that needs to be reviewed occasionallyWhen caulking is greater than two years old and we perform this service our cost is a $service charge and $for upper floor window and $for a first level window A simple phone call from the homeowner to me personally would have alleviated all of this We will compensate the homeowners $as we should have gone out to review the situation asapHowever, the extra $would have been chargeable by us or another company so we will not reimburse for this

I would like to warn people to stay away from this company I wish I would of read these reviews before signing any contract with this company. These negative reviews they have are so very accurate Very poor customer service and they like to put blame on the customerMark came out to our house, he was late for the appointment so it made it a late night for use He kept trying to get us to immediately sign the contract before he would leave, he finally did leave after 10:pm at night He left us with no estimate or information The other two companies that we had come out did leave an estimate for usThe other companies prices were better and we would have had the crank out windows in my living room like I originally had, but New windows could not meet their price My husband I and discussed it and decided to proceed with them mainly because of the life time warranty He faxed me over a simple estimate with no break down of window pricing and installation prices, just a total I ordered windows to be installedI put a deposit down of $ I signed the contract and they sent Rudy out to measure Rudy called me and said the window measurements for our small basement window would not fit the slider window Mark quoted and had put on the contract and that we would need a hopper window I had told Mark this the night he came out to give us an estimate, but he did not know what a hopper window was Which was weird I told him since the other two companies both quoted a hopper window for that particular window I mentioned to Rudy that I was concerned about the price because I believe the hopper window is less expensive He told me he would check on this matter and call me back He did not call me back Then Heather called me to tell me they ordered the windows and they should be in in a week I called her back and said what is up with the basement window , Rudy said the measurements for the basement slider would not fit and he was to call me backShe told me no, it was her mistake and that actually that window would work just fine So Thursday Sept 8th they came out to install the windows Funny thing, they did not bring the basement window, Chad the installer said he forgot it and that someone would bring it out to himI gave him a check for the and I would still owe them the $that I was doing interest free for months My husband was home and upon completion of the other windows, Chad said the window was too small and does not fit that opening so he will have to come back the next day to get that window installed and left it in our garage He did indeed come the next day to install the window He installed it crooked along with a large gap underneath the left bottom part of the window that he told us to fill with putty and sand then paintSo I let the company know it was crooked and they sent Chad out once again to check out this window on Sept.14th (In which I have pictures everything)My husband and his Step Mom were here Chad took off the trim to show them how it couldn't be straightened out, there was only half of one side of this window with the expansion foam that was per contract should have in around the window Once the trim was off, you could see easily how that window could be straightened out However, Chad out right refused to pull that window out and re do it He left and left the trim off the window I called to complainIt is not the only thing that is wrong with these windows, very poor craftsmanship I talked to Rudy and he was to send Mike out to check the problem with this windowMike came out on 9/to look at the window Mike in his exact words said "It looked like a kindergarten installed the window" He re adjusted the window so that it was straight, however, Chad had said he would need only one 3' piece of trim when he comes, Well he did not have enough trim since he needed 10' instead So Mike said to me he could not complete the job and I was to call again to set up Mike to come out and install the trimHowever this time they wanted the rest of the moneythey wanted me to sign the papers stating I was happy with the job and it was complete, I refused and they were annoyed I had to call Heather again to set up another day and time that would workI called her twice and left messages to call me back with no reply Then I sent emails to Heather, Brenda, and Rhonda the owner Not one of them emailed me back nor called meSame thing with the poor communication again on getting something set up to come back for the trimI emailed another message to Heather and demanded a call back and finally she called me to set up a time for Mike to come out So Mike came out last Friday 9/Mike comes back to do the trim, The other concerns were pointed out as well to Mike when he came back yesterday However, he cut the trim, went to put it up and it was not stained So we said that was not going to be acceptable and I will not sign the paper yet until the job is complete So he called Rudy, after I had to argue with Rudy and he telling me that it is our fault as a customer, he kept demanding payment that we sign the paper so they get the rest of their money I said I did not feel comfortable doing so, because I am very worried they will not come back and complete the job (since everything else with this company is a nightmare and like pulling teeth to get people out here) He tried to tell me all the windows are in so I should pay them, and not to worry about them not coming out Then he proceed to tell me how hard he had it to get a window for that basement window, however, he never called to tell me this He kept referring to the contract that was signed and that the things they had to do to this window to fit it in there was above and beyond He said it was the wrong window and I did not pay for trim so it didn't matter whether or not it was stained because that was not on the contract But in all reality the contract did not state they were getting the wrong size window either and putting it in If they need to put up a trim to make this window fit with not openings around it then that should be all on them, not me I don't see it that way, they charged me for the basement slider window that did not fit I do not do the measuring, they do, I am not the window person, they are So if they got a wrong size window and tried to install it, they should most definitely go above and beyond to make sure that window fits the way it should I shouldn't be pressured into paying before the job is complete Rudy wants to keep telling me he is doing the best he can with this window I ordered, in which they measured and sold meI did not pick this window, Mark the sales man was the one that said what window to install there They are full of excuses I repeat in my contract they said they would have a window that fit that basement window and it was a basement slider, if they had to do something different to it because it was for sure THEIR mistake they should have no problem doing that They would not leave my house until I signed the paper for them to receive the $that was still owed Rudy said he would send a check for $with Mike when he comes to do the trim So the one day install has turned into almost a month and still not complete They forced me into signing, even though I quoted the contract paper saying I do not have to sign until the job is complete and to our satisfaction, like Rudy kept on quoting the contract paper I signed Still never hearing from the owner, in which I said in her email I would like to talk with her directly to discuss my concerns and perhaps she come out to see the job they didMy front big two slider window if you push on the frame move significantly, which I do not think is normalMark never told us that you could not open both windows fully when you want both open either, I think that is a big point when your a sales person, I would of spent the little bit more for the crank out one then, but for them to get close to the price that I was quoted from the two other companies we decided to go with the two slider window Because Mark could not get their quote near the other two quotes we showed him In any case, I would like this job completed by next Friday and not a minute later I had scheduled the original day of Sept 8th because my husband was off workTo get them to come back out, they do not work with you too much to accommodate your hours that you need them to come out, and I can not take off workI just have to say that I would not go with this this company again to replace the remaining six windows I need to replace It really makes me wonder how fast they come out to do any type of warranty work, since that is their only big selling thing Also, since the basement window was so poorly installed with no installation, wondering how the other are, do they too have no installation, I guess we will see when winter comes and the trim is cold According to Mike he said that if the trim is warm and no draft the installation should be in there, if not then to call them back Best of Luck to anyone that does not head these horrible reviews and hope things go better for you if you do in fact go with this company, but I would say re consider it is not worth it I will FOR SURE up date the Revdex.com if this job does not get done in the next week and I get more run around and their excuses

I absolutely love my new windows I am saving a bundle on my heating costs this winter and they look beautiful Really opens my house up Windows were installed in a timely manner New Windows for American is great

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2014/03/10) */ Last spring NWFA installed windows in the [redacted] homeOur sub contracted installers accidentally spilled some foam insulation on the [redacted] 's vinyl siding and it has discolored the siding below one window on the left front of the houseNWFA made multiple attempts to clean of the discoloration but we have been unsuccessful in doing so The incident was reported to NWFA sub contractor's insurance and the insurance company offered $3,for damages, which took into account the age and value of the existing siding$3,does not cover the full cost of replacing siding on the entire houseAfter rejecting the offer of the subcontractor's insurance company, the [redacted] 's were encouraged to report it to their own homeowners's insurance company, which would then negotiate with the sub contractors insurance company to recover the full cost The [redacted] ' have refused to contact their own homeowners insurance companyThe [redacted] ' have stated they have an attorney, but have refused to provide that attorney's information to NWFA so that a meaningful dialogue could take place to amicably settle this matterIn order to make this as affordable as possible, NWFA generously offered to provide the vinyl siding and labor at our COSTWe also offered to provide a dumpster at no cost to the [redacted] , which has a value of approximately $ The cost to NWFA for the vinyl siding which the [redacted] have chosen is approximately $Estimated labor by a qualified sub contractor has a cost of $2500-One stain under one window in on one side of the house does not entitle the [redacted] to getting the entire house resided free of charge While this incident is regrettable, if the [redacted] would like a better outcome than what has been offered, they will need to undertake some steps on their own behalf, such as reporting the claim to their own homeowner's insurance company NWFA has gone above and beyond in an attempt to resolve this situation in a fair and equitable mannerWe have exhausted the remedies available to us and are unable to resolve this matter without assistance from the [redacted] Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2014/03/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We do not have an attorney and never stated so to NWFA I am not sure where they received that informationThe stain is on the front of the house if the stain would have been on the side or the back of the house this would not be as criticalAny communication has been initiated by us, I have had to repeat emails to receive responses, make several calls in order to have someone return my callsAt one point when this was first an issue the owner/president [redacted] was so rude to me on the phone he had me in tears If we had needed new siding we would have put the siding on the same time as we put in the new windowsHowever there WAS nothing wrong with our sidingWe even matched the window wrap to our sidingWe feel between the sub contractors insurance and NWFA they should replace the siding The siding was offered at cost to us along with the dumpsterNWFA believes we should be responsible for the laborWe have spoken to our insurance agent and she also believes it is in our best interest not to get the insurance company involvedThis should be our decisionWe should not be forced into involving themIt is evident that NWFA does not want to pay a dime out of pocket they want the sub contractors insurance and us to pay for the siding and the installation Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 10, 2014/04/02) */ Numerous attempts have been made by NWFA to rectify this situation in a fair reasonable way New Windows for America turned this into the subcontractor's insurance companyThe insurance company did an adjustment and offered to pay for the damaged sidingWe are not sure on the age of the siding, but think it is around twenty years old Mrs [redacted] was not happy with what the insurance adjuster said the siding repair was worth and what the insurance company is willing to payMrs [redacted] would like to have her entire home re-sided and would like New Windows for America to pay for replacement of the undamaged sides of the house [redacted] has offered to pay out of pocket for more than what the insurance company deems reasonable which would help pay for the other undamaged sides of the house to be residedMrs [redacted] is not happy with this New Window's for America's requested Mrs [redacted] turn it into her homeowner's insurance so the insurance companies can decide what is to be paid forThe amount that New Windows for America is willing to pay above and beyond the insurance company's adjustment is not acceptable to Mrs [redacted] We have offered several different options to reside which would not involve needing to side the undamaged sides of the house such as: 1) Put shakes in front of house 2) Put board and batten in front of house 3) Combination of horizontal and one of the above 4) Put a different color in front of the house Any of these above situations will resolve the situation with no out of pocket money and without involving homeowners' insurance companyNew Windows for America has also offered to put siding on the remaining sides of the [redacted] home at our cost The [redacted] 's have been unwilling to consider anything but "free siding" for the entire house Another option not discussed would be to replace the damaged siding in the front of the house by taking good siding from the back of the house and putting the damaged siding on the back of the houseThis would cost a few hundred dollars labor, and the [redacted] 's could keep the insurance proceedsIf the [redacted] eventually wanted to replace the entire house NWFA would hold the costs discussed above for year, subject to vendors price increases Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (3000, 12, 2014/04/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) After reviewing pages and pages of emails from [redacted] I could not find any of the options listed offered to us (maybe he is confusing us with another customer), with that being said the options listed are not acceptableI do not think that Mr [redacted] would accept any other those options for his home eitherI do not want my house to look like a clown houseWe take pride in our home, if we didn't we would not have spent the money to put new windows in our home I know Minnesota state law requires that if the siding can no longer be matched the entire house would need to be sidedAs I have stated before there was absolutely nothing wrong with our sidingAnd yes we believe the sub contractors insurance company came back low, we have had other companies give us estimates on new siding with bids between $10,000-$12,000, even in verbal conversation with Mr [redacted] he indicated that our house would be approximately a $10,jobThe insurance company offered $ NWFA ( [redacted] ) never offered to pay for anything above of what the sub contractors insurance will payIf he would have we would not be to this pointHe did offer to get the siding at a reasonable cost and pay for a dumpsterWe still would have the labor to pay for which is approximately $2800- We would like to get this resolved as soon as possible it has been almost a yearThe installer never mentioned the damaged before he left, we noticed it the next morning and immediately called NWFAIt took several phone calls to get a response from [redacted] ( I have documentation)

My husband and I were very pleased with our experience with New Windows for America A salesman came out and told us about the windows, answered questions, showed us pictures, and gave us an estimateAt no time did he pressure us to buyWhen the windows were ready, they were installed in two daysThe guys did a very nice job and cleaned up afterwardsWe love the way they look and should be very easy to care for We would recommend New Windows for America to anyone

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 8, 2014/06/10) */ We will pay for the manufacturer to reinstall the window properly and in accordance with manufacturer's standardsWe will coordinate with manufacturer and customer to set up time for the installation [redacted] , President Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 10, 2014/06/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The Manufactorer is coming out Wednesday morning, June 18th to reinstall the windowThis is the soonest they could come out and it leaks everytime it rainsWe have been in contact with Allison Hall from Vinylmax, you can contact her regarding payment

New Windows for America did excellent work on our home, they worked hard and were prompted on starting work at the beginning of the day

I am happy with the whole process of getting new windowsDone professionally, and in a timely manner

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 8, 2014/06/25) */ All contact information for this consumer has been removed from our customer relationship management systemI also extend my appologiesPlease let me know if anything further needs to be done [redacted] -owner

Excellent techniciansThe knew what they are doingVery courteous

NWFA was the best choice we ever made Their installers were great and new exactly what they were doing Very professional We also had insulation blown in by them I would use them again for sure They were great

Had a new bay window installed in our older home to replace the old original living room windowWe have been very happy with the window and were very impressed with the installation processThe sales and service people are professional, competent, and friendlyWill definitely use New Windows for America again

Total professional behavior of all staff that I worked with-customer service is dead at a lot of businesses but it is certainly in place hereThe phone coordinator, to the job supervisor, the salesman, and the installers were all first rate, however it was really an unexpected great piece of customer service when Todd the salesman stopped by later on the day of install to make sure I was satisfied-service not really found anymore, Keep up the great work

I am rejecting this response because:It is incomplete I am disabled, and at a disadvantage by Revdex.com's minute time-outI have received the NWFA receipt of my payments in the mail-thank you NWFA has offered to deliver and install the replacement basement glass slider with failed gas sealThank youThis is the only work this employee is authorized to do in my home None of the other issues has been addressed, and I stated in my complaint all agreed upon remedies, and/or rejections, be itemized, in writing and agreed upon by both parties, so we do not continue this problem, these issues, the careless, new damage that has happened each time NWFA employees returnThe workers who have been out are not given the authority to make decisions as to what is to be done, and how, so it does not make sense to send them out On this Monday, Rudy Sykes, manager, said he would come out on TuesdayI was out of town working- this is not co-ordinationg schedulesI offered this coming Monday, when Mike w/be here for slider, but Rudy is on vacation all week, so we were in the process of looking at week after Thanksgiving, when I received email from owner telling me he will be out on Monday 21st to look at the site, workHe has not committed to putting in writing his findings, nor negotiating what is/is not to be done, which I do requireI have said no further caulking will be done now with freezing weather, or it will be a greater mess than I have now

We placed our order on February 25th, We were also looking at replacing our entire front door and all new siding Before signing with this company for these items we decided to see how the window installation went The original estimate for our windows was $30, We paid cash and were able to get them down to $20,
Our windows were installed on April 28th, We were told in the letter on what to expect next that our windows would be installed in - weeks after the measurement happened The measurement took place on March 13, 1/weeks later our first installation took place
The installation took days to complete We felt the first contracted crew that we had was EXCELLENT! They did a wonderful job on the windows that they were able to install Unfortunately, the factory that this company uses for their sliding glass doors is less than adequate We had issues with our first installation that were not able to be fixed and needed reorde

Great windows, the installers were very friendly and accommodating with our petsThey worked fast and did a great jobWe love our new windowsThey completed all windows in daysThe sales guy a measurer guy were also accommodating when we forgot about another window we wanted done and came back to add that to the orderAlso like that they have a lifetime warrantyThe only thing I didn't like was that it took a little longer for our windows to come in than expected and they didn't let us know until we called and asked when they would be setting up the installation appointmentOther than that everything was good!

The windows are high quality, the price was fair, NWFA did what the salesperson (Mark *** said you'd do, when he said you'd do it, at the price he said it would costThere was no fine print, no "extra" costs and no backpedalingI very much appreciate the honesty and integrity, it's refreshing to encounter a company that still believes in that as I doThe icing was the installThe two technicians were VERY friendly, fast (whew!) and did very high quality installation workAnd talk about customer service! They explained what they were going to do (and why),cheerfully let me look over their shoulders (I like to learn), and finished replacing windows in just one day! Then, when finished, the cleaned up to the point where you couldn't see one single clue of their presence (except for those beautiful new windows)They even laid down plastic sheets around the house while workingA+ for them, A+ for Mark *** and A+ for NWFAAlthough I know of no one currently needing windows, gutters, doors, etcwhen I do, I will strongly recommend NWFA
