New Windows for America Reviews (67)

I am so happy with the installation, of replacement windows on the
upper floor of my home! The entire process went so smooth. Everyone we came in
contact with was helpful and pleasant. With the competitive pricing to the quality
of the windows to the people we dealt with I just wanted to say Thank you Ron, Dan
and Brad and crew for making this a seamlessly smooth project and would recommend
NWFA in a heartbeat.
Connie D. Prior Lake MN

I was very happy and pleased with the company. The workers were pleasant and professional they cleaned up after they were finished

We are very pleased with the windows we purchased from New Windows for America . The windows are triple pane and draft free. We felt the prices were reasonable and everyone we had contact were very helpful and professional.

Dear Mr. [redacted],  Thank you for your business- it is with great disappointment that we received this Revdex.com complaint. It is frustrating to both you as a valued customer and us as a customer oriented business....

The matter is an on-going service issue that we have diligently tried to correct. Some unfortunate mistakes have happened but it certainly cannot be said that we have not stood behind trying to resolve the matter. I personally measured the job. Measuring for new windows is a detailed and multifactorial task. My first objective is to make the window fit properly allotting for the maximum amount of glass space. The max glass space is most pleasing to most customers. I noted you had blinds and made my calculations to OVER fit the blinds as opposed  to UNDER fitting the blinds-  Under fitting requires custom cutting the blinds down-  It is not something we like to do so I purposely over fit the blinds by ½” per side- This also allows our installers a tolerable amount of room to square the windows upon installation-  I’m sorry that you were not pleased with the ½” per side-  I owned the concern and tried to accommodate you as is the way of our customer service- First, I asked the installer to modify the casing so it would fit tighter to your blinds- He misscut one piece of casing- Accidents happen, but I was just as discouraged as you were that the problem was not resolved- I certainly needed to own this problem because it was our fault-  I ordered a new piece of casing for you-  I personally came out to fix the problem but it could not be resolved because you said you didn’t like the color match and/or wood grain pattern-  I tried to explain that there are many color and woodgrain variations in the beauty of the oak wood species-  I could tell you were peevishly discontented by your cursing language-  Despite your swearing at me, I again owned the problem but this time ordered a whole new trim ‘kit’ (an assembled jamb and casing unit) at our expense (our vendors do not give these away for free)-  When that trim kit came in I again personally came out to resolve the problem-  Again you denied the product because of woodgrain and color issues-  The expletives you used toward the company were not helpful in the situation but you are still a valued customer and I want to get this trim kit to your liking so I reodered it again-  I have asked the trim kit company to meticulously assemble your trim kit with hand picked pieces that color match uniformly and have similar woodgrain-  Mr. [redacted], I have honestly tried my best for you sir as I do for all our customers-  When you ask all the readers of your letter to not consider our business, this actually pains me personally-  It takes a long time to build a reputation- We strive to get everything right the first time-  It’s our company philosophy-  We want our customers to know that-  Sometimes mistakes happen but we proudly stand behind correcting them-  Just like trying so hard to correct this trim kit problem-  I don’t believe this should be an attack against our whole business…    but rather a testimony to our service department-
Thank you,  Rudy [redacted], Production Mgr.  New Windows For America

I have, over the past few years, had all my windows and doors replaced and attic insulation done by NWFA. It was a very positive experience from the first phone call to the completion of the work. I chose this company because I prefer to support family-owned businesses and was not at all disappointed. The work that was done looks fantastic; the guys that did the work were great to have around and their work area was always cleaned up as they moved from room to room.. I live in a townhome complex and am probably the first owner to replace windows and doors in this 30-year-old complex. Several neighbors have commented on the excellent work that was done. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

New Windows For America put more insulation in our attic. They were very professional about the whole process. The work was completed exactly as they told us it would and their attic insulation products cut our heating bill in half and took care of the problems we had with ice dams.

Thanks!

"Services was really good Sales rep that came to our home was friendly knowledgeable and very insightful! [redacted] & [redacted] my installers were awesome! They are a very good as team members and very patience with my questions. Those two are TOP NOTCH in all aspects!”

My husband and I were very pleased with our experience with New Windows for America.
A salesman came out and told us about the windows, answered questions, showed us
pictures, and gave us an estimate. At no time did he pressure us to buy. When the
windows were ready, they were installed in two days. The guys did a very nice job and
cleaned up afterwards. We love the way they look and should be very easy to care for.
We would recommend New Windows for America to anyone.

I am happy with the whole process of getting 4 new windows. Done professionally, and in a timely manner.

I got 3 estimates-NWFA wasnt the cheapest but after looking at the product they were the best patio door-another window Co. said the only way I would get better window would be to spend $1000's more for 3 panes-and I did not have to with NWFA-for only a couple hundred more I got 3 panes-well worth the price

NWFA was the best choice we ever made. Their installers were great and new exactly what they were doing. Very professional. We also had insulation blown in by them. I would use them again for sure. They were great.

Thanks,

The customer service was excellent. Our home was treated respectfully; they cleaned up well after leaving. Friendly and patient service. The product is everything they advertised. We live near a highway and train tracks. Both sounds are significantly decreased. We are very pleased.

New Windows for America did an amazing job for us. From our first meeting with our sales person, to the last window being installed, the project went very smoothly and we are very pleased with the quality of the workmanship that went in to installing everything, as well as the quality of our new windows!

I am rejecting this response because:It is incomplete.
I am disabled, and at a disadvantage by Revdex.com's 30 minute time-out.
I have received the NWFA receipt of my payments in the mail-thank you.  NWFA has offered to deliver and install the replacement basement glass slider with failed gas seal. Thank you. This is the only work this employee is authorized to do in my home.
None of the other issues has been addressed, and I stated in my complaint all agreed upon remedies, and/or rejections, be itemized,  in writing and agreed upon by both parties, so we do not continue this problem, these issues, the careless, new damage that has happened each time NWFA employees return. The workers who have been out are not given the authority to make decisions as to what is to be done, and how, so it does not make sense to send them out
On this Monday, Rudy Sykes, manager, said he would come out on Tuesday. I was out of town working- this is not co-ordinationg schedules. I offered this coming Monday, when Mike w/be here for slider,  but Rudy is on vacation all week, so we were in the process of looking at week after Thanksgiving, when I received email from owner telling me he will be out on Monday 21st to look at the site, work. He has not committed to putting in writing his findings, nor negotiating what is/is not to be done, which I do require.
I have said no further caulking will be done now with freezing weather, or it will be a greater mess than I have now.

I absolutely love my new windows. I am saving a bundle on my heating costs this winter and they look beautiful. Really opens my house up. Windows were installed in a timely manner. New Windows for American is great.

I would like to warn people to stay away from this company. I wish I would of read these reviews before signing any contract with this company. These negative reviews they have are so very accurate. Very poor customer service and they like to put blame on the customer. Mark came out to our house, he was late for the appointment so it made it a late night for use. He kept trying to get us to immediately sign the contract before he would leave, he finally did leave after 10:00 pm at night. He left us with no estimate or information. The other two companies that we had come out did leave an estimate for us. The other companies prices were better and we would have had the crank out windows in my living room like I originally had, but New windows could not meet their price. My husband I and discussed it and decided to proceed with them mainly because of the life time warranty. He faxed me over a simple estimate with no break down of window pricing and installation prices, just a total. I ordered 6 windows to be installed. I put a deposit down of $2318.00. I signed the contract and they sent Rudy out to measure. Rudy called me and said the window measurements for our small basement window would not fit the slider window Mark quoted and had put on the contract and that we would need a hopper window. I had told Mark this the night he came out to give us an estimate, but he did not know what a hopper window was. Which was weird I told him since the other two companies both quoted a hopper window for that particular window. I mentioned to Rudy that I was concerned about the price because I believe the hopper window is less expensive. He told me he would check on this matter and call me back. He did not call me back. Then Heather called me to tell me they ordered the windows and they should be in in a week. I called her back and said what is up with the basement window , Rudy said the measurements for the basement slider would not fit and he was to call me back. She told me no, it was her mistake and that actually that window would work just fine. So Thursday Sept 8th they came out to install the windows. Funny thing, they did not bring the basement window, Chad the installer said he forgot it and that someone would bring it out to him. I gave him a check for the 1408.00 and I would still owe them the $4000.00 that I was doing interest free for 6 months. My husband was home and upon completion of the other windows, Chad said the window was too small and does not fit that opening so he will have to come back the next day to get that window installed and left it in our garage. He did indeed come the next day to install the window. He installed it crooked along with a large gap underneath the left bottom part of the window that he told us to fill with putty and sand then paint. So I let the company know it was crooked and they sent Chad out once again to check out this window on Sept.14th (In which I have pictures everything). My husband and his Step Mom were here. Chad took off the trim to show them how it couldn't be straightened out, there was only half of one side of this window with the expansion foam that was per contract should have in around the window. Once the trim was off, you could see easily how that window could be straightened out. However, Chad out right refused to pull that window out and re do it. He left and left the trim off the window. I called to complain. It is not the only thing that is wrong with these windows, very poor craftsmanship. I talked to Rudy and he was to send Mike out to check the problem with this window. Mike came out on 9/16 to look at the window. Mike in his exact words said "It looked like a kindergarten installed the window" He re adjusted the window so that it was straight, however, Chad had said he would need only one 3' piece of trim when he comes, Well he did not have enough trim since he needed 10' instead. So Mike said to me he could not complete the job and I was to call again to set up Mike to come out and install the trim. However this time they wanted the rest of the money. they wanted me to sign the papers stating I was happy with the job and it was complete, I refused and they were annoyed. I had to call Heather again to set up another day and time that would work. I called her twice and left messages to call me back with no reply. Then I sent 2 emails to Heather, Brenda, and Rhonda the owner. Not one of them emailed me back nor called me. Same thing with the poor communication again on getting something set up to come back for the trim. I emailed another message to Heather and demanded a call back and finally she called me to set up a time for Mike to come out. So Mike came out last Friday 9/23 Mike comes back to do the trim, The other concerns were pointed out as well to Mike when he came back yesterday. However, he cut the trim, went to put it up and it was not stained. So we said that was not going to be acceptable and I will not sign the paper yet until the job is complete. So he called Rudy, after I had to argue with Rudy and he telling me that it is our fault as a customer, he kept demanding payment that we sign the paper so they get the rest of their money. I said I did not feel comfortable doing so, because I am very worried they will not come back and complete the job (since everything else with this company is a nightmare and like pulling teeth to get people out here). He tried to tell me all the windows are in so I should pay them, and not to worry about them not coming out. Then he proceed to tell me how hard he had it to get a window for that basement window, however, he never called to tell me this. He kept referring to the contract that was signed and that the things they had to do to this window to fit it in there was above and beyond. He said it was the wrong window and I did not pay for trim so it didn't matter whether or not it was stained because that was not on the contract. But in all reality the contract did not state they were getting the wrong size window either and putting it in. If they need to put up a trim to make this window fit with not openings around it then that should be all on them, not me. I don't see it that way, they charged me for the basement slider window that did not fit. I do not do the measuring, they do, I am not the window person, they are. So if they got a wrong size window and tried to install it, they should most definitely go above and beyond to make sure that window fits the way it should. I shouldn't be pressured into paying before the job is complete. Rudy wants to keep telling me he is doing the best he can with this window I ordered, in which they measured and sold me. I did not pick this window, Mark the sales man was the one that said what window to install there. They are full of excuses. I repeat in my contract they said they would have a window that fit that basement window and it was a basement slider, if they had to do something different to it because it was for sure THEIR mistake they should have no problem doing that. They would not leave my house until I signed the paper for them to receive the $4000.00 that was still owed. Rudy said he would send a check for $200.00 with Mike when he comes to do the trim. So the one day install has turned into almost a month and still not complete. They forced me into signing, even though I quoted the contract paper saying I do not have to sign until the job is complete and to our satisfaction, like Rudy kept on quoting the contract paper I signed. Still never hearing from the owner, in which I said in her email I would like to talk with her directly to discuss my concerns and perhaps she come out to see the job they did. My front big two slider window if you push on the frame move significantly, which I do not think is normal. Mark never told us that you could not open both windows fully when you want both open either, I think that is a big point when your a sales person, I would of spent the little bit more for the crank out one then, but for them to get close to the price that I was quoted from the two other companies we decided to go with the two slider window Because Mark could not get their quote near the other two quotes we showed him. In any case, I would like this job completed by next Friday and not a minute later. I had scheduled the original day of Sept 8th because my husband was off work. To get them to come back out, they do not work with you too much to accommodate your hours that you need them to come out, and I can not take off work. I just have to say that I would not go with this this company again to replace the remaining six windows I need to replace. It really makes me wonder how fast they come out to do any type of warranty work, since that is their only big selling thing. Also, since the basement window was so poorly installed with no installation, wondering how the other 5 are, do they too have no installation, I guess we will see when winter comes and the trim is cold. According to Mike he said that if the trim is warm and no draft the installation should be in there, if not then to call them back. Best of Luck to anyone that does not head these horrible reviews and hope things go better for you if you do in fact go with this company, but I would say re consider it is not worth it. I will FOR SURE up date the Revdex.com if this job does not get done in the next week and I get more run around and their excuses.

We had new windows and patio doors installed in our home by new windows for america and from the salesman to the installers it was a great experience the installers did an excellent job installing the windows and patio doors and the quality of the product is great and the quality of the work is great the crew was very professional we can already notice a big difference in our home I can honestly say that new windows for america is a great company I would recommend them anybody that needs windows and doors

I would highly recommend New Windows for America. I contacted them because they did a great job on replacement windows in the past, and I know that the company is owned and managed by very ethical individuals, and everyone is very ethical and professional. I knew that the insulation level in my attic was low and that pipes were not adequately insulated, which led to ice dams and other energy inefficiencies. NWFAM responded very quickly to my request for information, and I was given all the information I could ever need on the product, process, company and costs. The insulation was done by an employee -- not a subcontractor -- who was extremely responsive and professional. Scheduling was fast and easy and they were very flexible. They came on time and completed the job with high quality. I would definitely recommend this company; front start to finish this was a very positive experience.

I live in Maple Grove, MN. We like all city's have our city event days. Ours is Maple Grove Days. I received a call letting me know I won a drawing I entered for a window's or bath shower remodel and it was for $500.00 dollars off. So I checked with my wife like all married guys do and she agreed to have Eric come out and give us an estimate. So with that we ended up with a 19 inch deep by 36 inch wide soaker tub with artic Ice paneling a 4 shelf corner caddy, nickel fixtures. My wife takes Monday August 31st 2015 off due to me being out of town and to find out not all the produce was there so she then took off Friday September 4th 2015. They came out did the work and had to come back Saturday for 10 hours and needed to come back Sunday but Sunday didn't work for here so they came out Monday September 7th Labor Day to do more work. She noticed there where a lot of things wrong from stuff not being straight to scratches and shower head leaking. So we had them come back on the 11th to fix things and not everything was still fixed they also had to come out on the 18th to fix things. I left for 2 weeks for hunting and there where still a lot of problems.. On October 5th and 7th I had a plumber out to the house to fix the shower head and fixture and his words where this is mickey moussed in here so he redid it. This gentleman was hired by new windows he was a great guy. So I called the owner Jim and explained my concern that my shower door opens and I have these marks in the tub. I said why haven't these things been fixed my wife sent your wife Rhonda an email with her concerns. So Monday October 12th they came out to fix the door and the marks in the tub and told me it was a 3 hour wait time and that they would be back well they couldn't make it back so they came out October 13th and fixed the tub marks but shower door is still not right. They have to come back Wednesday October 14th.. So in a nut shell what was only to be a 1 or 2 day install has turned into a month into 2 month deal. Our total cost is $9,344.00 we made a deposit of $2000.00 for remaining balance of $7,344.00... We where to get a $50 dollar gift card and ended up with $50 cash. I have called Jim the owner a couple times to talk about issues and concerns my favorite line he used with me after I said why don't you come out here and look was " That's what I pay people for" I then stated maybe you need different people. I am saying people don't use this company it's not worth the time, headache, or breath. For all the trouble we have had and my wife using vacation days there only looking at taken $300 to $400 off the bill. Not a great company or deal.
