Nextdoor members have the ability to report posts and comments they feel violate the Nextdoor GuidelinesNextdoor Leads have the ability to review these reports and vote on wether or not they violate the guidelinesIf they do, the Lead can vote to removeIf they do not, the Lead will vote not to removeThis is the extent of a Lead's ability to take any action on other members accountsLead's and Founding Members do not have any control over other member's accounts Only Nextdoor Support can take action directly on a members accountThat action can include removing posts and comments, placing members on Read-Only Limited Access or Suspension, depending on the severity of the offenseNextdoor Support can not edit posts or comments on Nextdoor.? Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: [redacted] These Guidelines include rules about using your real name Every neighbor signs in using their real first and last name, just like they'd introduce themselves in person.Using your real name (and not an alias, pseudonym, or abbreviation) helps to build trust among neighborsThis leads to better communication and fosters a stronger community Keep in mind that our Member Agreement requires that members use their real name Accounts with fake names are automatically suspended from Nextdoor in order to limit possible fake accounts exposure to the neighborhood news feed and directory until either the real name is ascertained or until the member provides proof of their name Nextdoor is a word of mouth member to member shared platformMembers can invite friends, family and neighbors to join several ways including by postcard sent from Nextdoor to uploading their email contacts and sending email invitations In order to verify members are using their real names we reserve the right to request proof of that name, either by legal identification or by other methods that prove a members name We suggest looking at our Help Center for more answers on how members get invited to join Nextdoor [redacted]

Response to Complaint ID [redacted] On February 21, 2017, Wendy contacted us because she was unable to register for a Nextdoor AccountSpecifically, Wendy was told that she could not register because our system found that her address was listed in a registered sex offender registryBy the terms of our Membership Agreement ( [redacted] /), convicted sex offenders, including registered sex offenders, and their households are not eligible for Nextdoor accountsOn the same day, we investigated and found that Wendy's address was no longer listed in the registered sex offender registry, so she was free to create a Nextdoor account On February 22, 2017, Wendy inquired about the information that lead to her address being added to the registry and how Nextdoor obtained such informationOn February 24, 2017, we explained that we obtain this information from Family Watchdog ( [redacted] ), a free online database of registry informationUnfortunately, that company does not provide Nextdoor with information on why an address is placed on the registry We closed this case as resolved because we shared the information that was made available to us as users of the registry information service

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have asked them repeatedly "what form of proof" are they "requiring", and they have not answered.? And "WHERE on their site" does it state what forms of proof are required?? ? The site says:? "the first name that you use when introducing yourself to neighbors, friends, and colleagues and your legal? last name."? So,? I asked if they wanted affidavits from neighbors who I have introduced myself to; declarations as to how I have introduced myself...? no answer.? ? If they are (only now) requiring identification, then they need to change their "rules" to reflect that because it's not stated ANYWHERE on the siteIn fact, the site goes so far as to state "We recognize that some people are primarily known by something other than their given first name" does it then go on to say that you need to provide identification of a nickname?? No, it says: It would be acceptable for? the catcher of the San Francisco Giants to use the name "Buster Posey" rather than Gerald Posey,? the name? on his birth certificate It would be acceptable for the football player " [redacted] ***" to use his initials as his first? name,? since that is how he introduces himself And again "Using initials or an abbreviated version of your LAST name is always prohibited', which I DID NOT DO!!!!!!!? BTW - this assertion of my not using? my "real name" was an anonymous report - what is my recourse to challenge reporting???? Who can I hold accountable for this defamation?? DO I now troll the site looking for neighbors I don't think are being totally forthcoming with all their personal information?? Can I then report neighbors who give only the street they live on and not the actual address since they are withholding personal information and obfuscating the transparency and honesty of the site???? ? This is insane!!!? What exactly are they trying to prove???? ? Sincerely,RI Eventoff

When joining Nextdoor, all members go through a verification process that requires the member to provide additional proof that the member has signed up at their true and correct address, we call this our Member Verification ProcessInfo on this process can be found below [redacted] Often, potential members will sign up to Nextdoor unaware of this verification process (which can include checking SSN, phone or credit card billing information)When faced with requests for this information some members will decide not to complete the process of verifying their accountThis puts the member's account into a state of limbo until their account information can be verifiedWe also use third party verification methods, such as [redacted] , to assist us in verifying that members join at the correct address This account was created on 11/24/by complainantSign up was abandoned at the verification stage and was left unverified by the memberIt remained in this state of limbo until 6/20/when the address listed on the account was verified as belonging to the complainant by our third party vendor and was then activated Member contacted Nextdoor Support on 6/30/to inquire about his account and to request that we deactivate his account for himNextdoor Support replied on 7/1/with the notice that we have deactivated his account as requested

? Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: They are STILL NOT dealing with the fact that MY comment was altered to make it sound different than it would in it's full & original stateThey have denied me access of the comments..therefore making it impossible for me to show how the comment was actually written THIS violates my rightsThey are known for this type of activity..and they intentionally make it nearly impossible for members to complain by removing ALL content that will make them look badThat is exactly what they have done in this matter...and are preventing me from seeing the entire dialogue that the comments in question were contained inThey are doing that to hide their BIASED actions against me...and to attempt to make them look in the rightTHEY are in the WRONG...and are violating my rights both under THEIR guidelinesand under my given rights of Free speechI also have a witness that was a third party to this conversation that Nextdoor is actively preventing me from contacting...because they fully know this witness will show them, or the complaining party, to have altered the comments that I madeI AM in the right...THEY are damaging my reputation, and they always will do that to anyone that has a different opinion from them Thank you Michael ***Sincerely,Michael ***

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: [redacted] With over 150k neighborhoods around the US we can not actively monitor every neighborhood newsfeedTherefore we rely on our members to report any activity that they feel violates our GuidelinesThis member has contacted Nextdoor Support times in the last month and we have responded to all of her complaints and taken action where our guidelines were violated by other membersWe have removed several members based on her help complaints and verified others are using their real namesWe have removed several inappropriate jokes that this member has brought to Nextdoor Support and have removed several political posts that violate our Guidelines

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: [redacted] These Guidelines include leaving negative reviews on a business Nextdoor members are encouraged to leave positive recommendations for business they think neighbors should useHowever, members are allowed to describe negative experiences with business or service providers as long as they do so in a way that is consistent with Nextdoor's Community Guidelines I have reviewed this members comment and found that it did not violate the Nextdoor Guidelines, Though it was reported, it was NOT removed from Nextdoor’s Newsfeed and remains active on the post in question

? Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: They are using an alleged statement form me that is NOT representative of what I saidIt has been altered..not necessarily by them..but possibly by THEIR complaintant..who made the claims about meLeaving a part out..has entirely changed WHAT I actually saidAn example is...If someone said.."No one said that I shot the dog"...but then left the first part out..and claimed the statement to be.."I shot the dog"....It completely alters the entire meaning.! That was what has been done to MY original statement And as for MY having only contacted them once..THAT is completely falseI contacted them times..and SPECIFICALLY asked the individual..named Andrew..to tell me what his capacity was with the company...and what his full name isHe refused to respond back to meTheir denial is FALSE..and totally mis-represents FACT Thank you MichaelSincerely,Michael ***

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: [redacted] One of those guidelines is about Disagreements and conflict and how to properly handle situations like this when they arise This member and several other members were contacted by support about their content on a heated debate occuring in their neighborhoodWhile we encourage members to have conversations about the issues that matter to them in a way that is constructive, civil, and builds community we ask that they don’t attack, berate, bully, belittle, insult, harass, threaten, troll, or swear at others or their viewsBefore reinstating their accounts we asked that the members agree to abide by these guidelines going forward and to keep their posts and comments civilThis member agreed and was reinstated on 2/21/ It’s important to mention that Lead’s do not have the ability to block or remove anyone from Nextdoor, only Nextdoor staff have that ability and it is only utilized when a members violation calls for action

Nextdoor has a set of Guidelines that all members agree to when they join NextdoorSeveral of those guidelines deal specifically with politics and campaigningWe expect members to report content that violates our Guidelines, and when they have been reported Nextdoor Support will review the content to determine if it violates our GuidelinesIf it does the content will be removed and an explanation will be sent to the member This complainant is not a member of Nextdoor, has not agreed to the Guidelines or verified their accountBecause of this, they do not have access to view the newsfeed of their neighborhood and can not give any examples of posts that may have been removed in errorAny information this person may have, while possibly valid, would have been obtained from another member’s account, another thing that violates our Guidelines Because this complainant is not a member of Nextdoor, they may not have been aware of how to contact Nextdoor Support to address issues of guideline violations

This member contacted Nextdoor Support via email with a request to permanently delete his account and any information associated with it NOV 5TH, AT 10:23AMNextdoor Support permanently deleted this member's account and information and replied to him letting him know we had accommodated his request on NOV 7TH, AT 10:01AM

? Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: NextDoor has had a one-sided resolve this issue without investigating the actual problem.? NextDoor has been notified on numerous occasions that I have become the target of neighbor who repeatedly reports me no matter what I post.? I am not alone in this battle.? Many of my neighbors have suffered the same harassed in getting reported for violations simply because another member does not like what the post is they are seeing This resulted in my being blocked temporarily from the site altogether without any investigation on NextDoor's part.? They have run a numbers game without seeking any type of Human Resources search.? ? It seems the lowest of ethics to target a piano teacher who works out of their home, offering a service to the community.? ? Sincerely,Aaron [redacted]

After several emails back and forth explaining our policy and procedure around how content is reported by other members, this member is still not satisfied Response to member: "The post you mention is still active on the newsfeed and has not been removed The way our Report a Member feature works is that any neighbor can report any content that they feel violates the Community Guidelines in some wayOnce the content has been reported, the Neighborhood Leads will review it to determine wether or not the post violated the guidelinesIf it does, they will vote to remove the contentIf it does not violate the guidelines, which your post didn't, they will vote not to remove the content and the report will be dismissed Several of the comment's that you refer to that were inappropriate were also reported and were in fact removed by the Leads." This member is dissatisfied that another member reported her postThough it did not violate our guidelines and was not removed from the newsfeed this member refuses to accept that our policy is to notify members who have been reported
