Automatic renewal without notification or authorization, plus a 20% increase from the inception price 3 months ago
I made an online purchase from Date Night In on February 7, 2018, using a coupon code for three date night boxes. The website did not say that this purchase was an ongoing automatically renewed subscription, or I never would have used my bank account to purchase it. The company never sent me any further e-mails about the product, nor any notifications that my "subscription" was about to renew. Further, the price increased 20% since February, and this was not disclosed to me prior to the automatic charge to my PayPal account. I invite you to go to their website, and see that purchasing a night in box does not advise you that this is a subscription that will automatically renew. I contacted the company as soon as I saw a charge in my bank account, and asked them to please refund my money as I didn't realize this was a recurring subscription. They refused to refund my money, even though I contacted them immediately on April 30, 2018, and the 1st shipment is not until May 16-21, 2018. I asked to speak to a manager, and they said they do not have a phone number for customer service, and refused to have someone call me, but instead pointed to their refund policy on their website. I think this business' practices are very under-handed, and they are making money on consumers by not notifying them of the automatic renewal.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund of the $120 charged to my Paypal account on 4/30/18.

According to the customer's account history log, they did not cancel their subscription until May 1, 2018, 3 days after the cancellation deadline of April 28, 2018.

It is also mentioned in the Date Night In/Night In Boxes cart feature/check out process that the customer must cancel their subscription in order to prevent future auto renewals. Also referenced in the attached.

By agreeing to the terms & conditions, customer assumes all responsibility of the activities on their account.

Customer was provided steps to cancel subscription through terms & conditions at check out/cart feature prior to purchase as well as cancellations deadline. Please see below.

The Date Night in company has terrible customer service and underhanded business practices. They never stated that this was an automatic renewal subscription until after the purchase, in the fine print. I will never purchase from this company again, and I will warn other potential customers about my experience.

I do not accept this company's response, because they keep stating their terms & conditions over and over again, which is not a resolution. I will accept nothing less than a refund and assurance that they have changed their policy regarding auto-renewal subscriptions for future customers. This company is scamming consumers, and it has to stop. There are pages and pages of reviews from customers that had the same thing happen to them: auto-renewal of their subscription with no warning or reminder e-mail, and when they contacted the company within a day of the charge, the company refused a refund and pointed to the fine print on their website. This is not a small amount- it is $120 that was not in my budget. I saw the charge to my bank account the day after it occurred, and immediately contacted the company. At this time, they had not mailed any part of the new 3 month subscription out to me, I had not received any service, they had not lost any product, and they still would not refund any part of the subscription. They are ripping off consumers consistently, and the Revdex.com needs to do something to warn consumers.
My next step in this process is to contact the consumer protection agencies with the Federal Trade Commission, plus the state I live in and Georgia, where the company seems to be located. I will not stop until this company changes it's deceptive practices. I will also begin posting reviews of this company on every website I can find. They are promoting their product through many channels, and continue to take advantage of consumers.

Date Night In (Night In Boxes) has initiated a partial refund of $80 to the customer on June 15, XXXX XX:XX PM UTC .

Date Night In (Night In Boxes) will not be able to provide the customer with a refund if full for reasons previously mentioned.

Refuse refunds. Customer service does not respond via email and will not orovide phone number. Claim that policies are clear but they are not.
I purchased a 3 month subscription. Apparently this auto renews but it wasn't clear. Then when they renew your subscription they refuse to let you cancel the remainder and provide a refund for it. Customer service doesn't respond and only email customer service is provided so you can't actually speak with anyone.

Customer reached out to Date Night In(Night In Boxes) customer experience support on April 13, 2018. The customer experience team provided a complete response to customer on April 16, 2018 reiterating the terms & conditions and providing directions on how to prevent future subscription auto renewals. Further communications occurred between the customer and Date Night In(Night In Boxes) between April 16, 2018 and April 27, 2018. On April 27, 2018 Date Night In( Night In Boxes) provided their final decision on the resolution on the account.

Date Night In(Night In Boxes) does not currently have a designated phone line to handle inquiries of this nature. Choosing to omit a designated phone number to provide phone support, is an unusual one but after much experimenting with different approaches, Date Night In(Night In Boxes) has found that starting with an email enables them to provide you with the fastest response possible. This decision has also been made in an effort to keep well documented communications between the customer and Date Night In(Night In Boxes) in an attempt to protect both parties.

My understanding was that I was buying a 3 month subscription. If they think the rules are so clear they should make it easier to remember to cancel and offer partial refunds. It wasn't clear that it was a renewal. Customer service refused to let me speak with anyone in person.

I subscribed for just three months. They billed me again for another three with no warning whatsoever. They refuse to discuss a refund.
I found them via FB advertising. I subscribed for just three months, as the ad was advertising. I didn't care for the boxes. They charged me for another 3 months with no warning at all. Upon seeing the charge, I emailed them in minutes, told them it was a mistake, I did authorize it and did not want the future boxes. Even though the boxes have not been shipped, they refuse to refund my money. Reviews on Google show this is quite common. Something should be done.

Desired Outcome

I want my 120 dollars back and no more boxes. I subscribed for three months, not six.

I was charged automatically without my consent for three more months of this companies products. I asked for cancellation and refund. None given.
I ordered a three month subscription of Date Night In as a Christmas gift. The "dates" were not for us. I assumed I had given the company permission to automatically charge me for three months. I paid the fee. My card was charged again on March 25 for another three month subscription. I immediately e-mailed the company and explained that I did not want any further deliveries and I would like my money refunded. They refused...no refunds. I explained that I felt confused about the auto renew as I was giving them permission for three months only. They have no phone number to actually speak with a person. The e-mails I received seemed to be an automatic type of response for anyone asking for a refund. I feel that I have been victimized by this company. They only want your money...they care nothing about customer satisfaction. I want my money refunded.

Desired Outcome

I would the $120.00 charge refunded to my credit card and no further Date Night Boxes sent to me.

This business is not operating above board. They charged me for an auto renewal I didn't agree to and wouldn't let me cancel despite reporting their error to them immediately.

Horrible company! They renewed my subscription without authorization and failed to email me to let me know. I didn't not receive any shipment notifications, or notifications reguarding the purchase. The product would show up at my door. When I confronted them and asked for a refund they said they would not refund subscriptions, a subscription that I DID NOT order. I'm out $120 and am beyond furious. Horrible company.

Date Night In/Night In Boxes previously contracted with a fulfillment partner who provided a service that lacked in quality, efficiency and accuracy. Once Date Night In/Night In Boxes was made aware of the insufficiencies of the former fulfillment partner, Date Night In/Night In Boxes brought fulfillment in house. Since fulfillment has been brought in house, Date Night In/Night In Boxes has been able to improve accuracy of email communications and overall all quality control.

Date Night In/ Night In Boxes still experiences customers who claim they did not receive email communications of shipping notice. Date Night In/Night In Boxes shipping emails are auto triggered by *** once they scan a customer's shipment into their system. If *** does not scan the package, the email is not triggered. Once the package is the hands of ***, Date Night In/Night In Boxes no longer has control of accuracy of communication with their customer of this nature, HOWEVER Date Night In/Night In Boxes continues to work with *** to improve scan rates to ensure that customer communications are triggered.

Date Night In/ Night In Boxes has also experienced customers not receiving shipping communications due to limitations of email provider used by the customer. Date Night In/Night In Boxes continues to work to resolve any potential issues with communications not being received by customer due to email provider limitations.

They have never returned emails inquiring over a missing box.
I subscribed to this company, and was supposed to receive an email confirming my subscription and shipment of my box by the 20th. I've never received it so I contacted customer service 3 times, and they have never responded. I've already been charged for this box that I've never received anything about. They only allow emails, and there is no way to call them to find out further information on them. I also cannot delete my credit card information from their site now that I have canceled my subscription completely.

Desired Outcome

I would like for the customer service to actually call me back about this so I can ensure that my subscription is fully canceled and delete my credit card information from their site.

Have not responded to multiple attempts to change delivery address. Late delivery of 2 of 2 boxes.
I have contacted them 2 times this month on Facebook and 2 times via E-mail to request changing the delivery address of my shipments which they assured me when I first placed my order that I could do. I have not had a response to either since 12/30. There is no phone number available to contact. I just received an E-mail today stating that the package is headed to the wrong address since they had not responded to earlier E-mails.

Desired Outcome

Would prefer just to have the money back for the remaining 2 date nights since they are not responsive to repeated inquiries and the shipments do not arrive in the right place or right time.

I ordered a Date Night In box on 11/30/17 as part of my parents' Christmas gift.I was well aware that the shipping date was 12/16/17, and that the website specifically stated that the December boxes would arrive on time for Christmas. I finally contacted them on 12/18/17 via Facebook comment on one of their posts and posting on their page directly with the same verbiage asking for an update. They said they can take up to 12/21/17 to ship and still will be there by Christmas. They responded with a robotic response that they were sorry for the delay and would still (according to USPS) be there by Christmas. I recommented on the same post they responded to in the morning on 12/22 since I still did not have shipping confirmation. It was a heartfelt message about why this gift was important to me to give by Christmas. They then deleted my posts after a friend of mine commented on it, and also when I try to post a new post on their wall it's been restricted (not sure for just me or everyone). It is clear by the COUNTLESS other complaints identical to mine (some got the same robotic response as me, some got none at all) that this is their typical way of doing business. They DID give me a link to a 'Certificate' I could print and give to my family members representing that I'd bought them the gift- but that doesn't at all ease my mind about not even knowing if I will get it.

Date Night In(Night In Boxes) timeframe associated with our advertised shipping schedule of the 16th through the 21st of each month.

Date Night In(Night In Boxes) post referenced in customer's comment at not point guaranteed delivery before Christmas however confirmed shipments would go out between the advertised shipping deadline. see attached.

Throughout the holiday shipping season, customers were made aware of potential delays on the part of USPS. Once shipments are in the hands USPS, Date Night In(Night In Boxes) cannot have any effect of effectiveness, efficiency or timing of shipment.

During the time that customer purchased order, Date Night In(Night In Boxes) contracted with a fulfillment partner in Texas. After much disappointment, delays in shipments processed and an infinite amount of errors on the part the fulfillment partner, Date Night In(Night In Boxes) terminated their contract and brought fulfillment in house. Since bringing fulfillment in house, Date Night In(Night In Boxes) has substantially decreased errors in shipping, increased quality control and improved effective shipping communications with customers.
