Northwood Asset Management Group Reviews (%countItem)

Mr Anthony James of Northwood Mgt. Group called and left a message regarding an urgent legal matter and to return his call. Two hour later he calls family members and he tells my daughter that I defaulted on a loan in June of last year. He needs further training in his job. Debt collectors as I’m sure he is well aware of can’t disclose personal information.

Northwood Asset Management Group Response • Apr 20, 2020

We have closed the account as a cease and desist and
Northwood Asset Management Group will no longer be in contact with Ms..
As per the request made by Ms. the representative will be entered in our
retraining program upon completion of the investigation.

I recieved a call this morning at 9:07 Paciic time and I was unable to answer the call. Within less than ten minutes of leaving the message the company had called my entire family and left messages as well. I called them back and said that due to Covid-19 it was going to be a challenge to pay and they told me if I do not set up arrangements they were going to proceed with garnishing my wages. I had asked for claification and paperwork. The person said that they did not have to provide it first,, when I informed them if they are taking me to court they have to legaly serve me or send me documintation. I also stated that we are in a shelter in place and have been since march. He responded with the ammount I needed to pay today or they were going to take me to court, to garnish my wages. As I asked for more information the gentleman was not forgiving and wanted money today. I
I did set up a payment plan that was higher than I can do during this time because according to him if I did not, it was not satisfactory and would be taken to court immedietly. My family sent me their messages that he left them as well telling them I have a importnant legal matter that I was being sued for money and need information today.
I felt threatened in this call and that I was forced to set up payments otherwise they would take money from me during this difficult and challenging time and they would take up to 5,500 for processing but if I pay 3,305 and it would be all done. I explained to him, I dont have that much money to pay off. During this time it does not help to add stress to individuals who are on shelter in place since March 15 and then to call their family. Whom many of my family have not seen me in a month due to the virus.
I did ask for my written proof of the documentation, since I had recieved none. He did not respond to this as well. He told me I would get it when I set up a payment plan. I feel that this was a threat to get the money they wanted and trying to continue with normal operation in a tough and difficult time.

I have spoken with them TWICE and told them I have not received any settlement offer in writing from this debt. I am not working due to health issues I have no current income and have told them I am insolvent. They continue to call and say they have no record of my discussion with them!!!! They have disclosed ALL details of this debt with my friend and spouse who are NOT listed on the debt!!!! They discussed settlement options with my spouse and friend!!!! Again, I have told them I am insolvent and I am not employed, but they continue to call and harass me and family members.

relatives and myself been harrased on a daily basis by javier f* @ 716-362-6037 leaving voicemails sayings that I am being sued, when I have not received any documents by court. Giving me a deadline to call back otherwise this documents will be really bad against me, I have all voicemails saved.

As requested by Ms., we have closed the account as a cease and desist and Northwood AssetManagement Group will no longer be in contact. After reviewing the account, the representativeinvolved has been required to undergo retraining on all our company policies and FDCPA guidelines.

I removed my information from an account which had been automatically debiting payments and the company sold the debt to this place. They called me during work hours and then immediately left voicemails for my brother and father telling them I had a claim against me for breach of contract! I have no idea how they got everyone in my family’s number but this caused panic. When I touched base with the woman it was settled within 20 minutes - I find their practices aggressive for debt collection.

In January, this company had left voicemails, text messages to relatives quoting "message is intended for _____ and its in regards to a legal matter" "to have her call me immediately". I was out of the country then to attend to my sick aunt and I was getting messages from my cousin to call the number immediately. As soon as I came back I was able to call and let them know what number I can be reach and address. I told them I want to see some documentation regarding the debt and i'm more than willing to resolve the debt. This company never sent me any intentions to file a complaint against me in writing. They failed to disclose intitial written communication with me. He told me misleading or implication that documents are legal process. They said that they were in a process of filing a garishment for my work . The first payment was so much but I was scared of their threat so I agree to the payment even though I knew I couldn't afford it. That amount cost me in not buying groceries for the month. The next month didn't go throught because I had barely enough money to pay our rent. Rent is more important because I have a child that needs a home. This company started to call my relatives again after I called the company to let know that I will be calling them back and make arrangement. Again, leaving a voicemail that had "legal" text. Voicemail and text to at least 5 relatives after they left me 5 messages to call on my own phone and at work. I feel so harassed and abuse while I'm at work I cannot concentrate because I'm under stress in addition to being embarassed by family members who do not want to be called. My family members are requesting that they do not be contacted and when I asked this company to stop they said they have to continue to do that and they will not stop.

There was a lady who called my cell phone, stating to he from this company. She knew the last 4 of my social security number as well as my birthday but stated I had a bank account with a bank I have never banked with. I told her this and she got really angry with me, made fun of the way I talk, and when I asked her if shes always this rude to people, she stated she wasnt being rude. I would have tried to help resolve the issue, even though I dont believe it was I whom had the account but she persisted on being trashy and ugly towards me. I dont have the account shes referring to and I would like them to case and desist immediately

I have been repeatedly getting calls from David P of this company. He calls me back to back and calls my work repeatedly after I have asked him not to. I cant receive personal calls at work. I have tried to set up payment plans to satisfy the debt I owe even though I have received no paperwork showing a true balance and a legit debt owed. David is very rude and unprofessional. He tried to scare me today by saying my tax return would be intercepted and taken for this debt. This is not only false but an illegal representation. Also he is violating federal law of the Fair Debt Collection Act by continuing to call my job, family and others without my permission and after I have told him to cease. This is a very sleazy way of conducting business. If he continues with threatening calls I will pursue any and all available legal options. And as a debt collector myself I know that he is breaking multiple laws.

Northwood Asset Management Group Response • Feb 24, 2020

As requested by Mr., we have closed the account as a cease and desist and Northwood Asset Management Group will no longer be in contact. We have also mailed a letter containing account information to Mr. home address listed on the file.

On November 6, 2019, at 2:00 pm (PST) I received a voicemail from someone named Lisa T stating that she had been trying to reach me regarding the matter placed in her office that came over attached to a legal complaint, hoping I could speak to you before she brought a decision on this, give me a call at (***.

Later that week, my office manager informed me that there was a message from *** I called the number and the person on the other line responded with “Oh hold on while I pull up your account.” I am not sure that this was Lisa T, and I was suspicious about the matter since the name of the company was not mentioned in the initial voicemail. Also I would like to point out that the representative on the phone neglected to verify any of my information. The rep stated that they were with Loan Me.Then she began her script about this is an attempt to collect a debt and that I have been contacted several times by phone and mail and began to pressure me into answering her if I was going to make a payment yes or no. I asked her for the name of the company, and she said it very quickly I could not tell if it was Northwest, Northwood, North (could not tell). I also asked for the address of the company. She asked, “What for?” and I stated for correspondence purposes. She refused to cooperate and had an attitude and yelled “What are you trying to do? We will send out another packet! Good day!” She then disconnected the call.

On January 28, 2020 at 2:20 PM (PST) I received a voicemail from someone named Natalie Green with Northtown requesting me to verify my place of employment, title and home address. She stated that she has attempted to call me more than once and documentation has been sent out.

On January 30, 2020 1:23 PM (PST) Approximately

I received a call from the office, I was told that someone named Sarah was on the line. When I asked for more details, the office staff said “she says you know who it is”.
I took a message and asked Sarah for the name of the company and address. She provided the information. Then at 1:27 she left a voicemail mentioning that this is one of several attempts to call me and would like a response by 6:00 PM (EST). I called back on the next day to get the name of this company and mailing address.

On February 6, 2020

“Natalie” called again leaving the same message as before, but this time she stated she was with MCSG.

Also-when the reps called my place of employment-very little information was given and they stated that it was urgent.

On January 24, 2020 I received a call from Brenda L at Northwest Asset Management at my job. She told me that since I had a past due payment with *** that I would need to leave the premises or I was going to be arrested. At this time I became very frantic, upset and embrassed. I ask if I could call her back. She gave me her call back number and when I called back she proceeded to tell me again that I need to leave the premises at my job because they were coming to get me or I can give them a $920.00 now and pay 113.00 bi weekly. I told her I did not have right now and I really did not want them to call my job anymore. After I hung up with her she called our sister store in another city and told them I would have to leave the premises becase they were coming to arrest me for a debt I owe. She was told that I did not work at that store she ask to speak to some*** higher then her when she told her he was not there she ask for his number. She told her she could not give but will take her number and pass on to him. My manager told me that he called the number back and was advised that I had a debt and if I did not pay today they were going to go to the premises and arrest me. After he told me this I called them back and ask them not to call my job. She told me that she can call my job anytime and how many times she want. I told her that I am asking her to cease from calling my job and she would have to apply since I ask her too. Her respond was that she was not and will call anytime she wanted to. I told her that if she did not then I was going to get a lawyer for harassment and not following the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) . She hung up on me and call my work number right back again. I will be taking them to Small Claims court for the many FDCPA Violations and damages they have cause.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Regards

This was my first contact with this company and the first time I was informed of a collection issue. I have received no written correspondence and if they have attempted to call me previously on my cell, the phone has been flagging their calls as scam. I have noticed an increase of those calls lately. Below is what I have logged in my records after the experience I had with a very rude representative of this company.

8:51am on 1/22/20
My call to 716-362-6057
I called and spoke with Mr. F in response to two missed calls from him on my work line the previous day (1/21/20) when I was not in. He had left a voice message telling me to call him regarding a specific claim number. I told him that I cannot receive these types of calls at work and asked what he was calling about. He said it was regarding a loan that was taken out in my name last year. He then said that I needed to pay $3,000 to get the claim cleared. I told him I didn’t have that kind of money and asked him to send me something in writing about this. I have not received any written communication about this. Mr. F refused to send me anything in writing and said that he could email me something. He threatened to call the payroll dept. at my job and take 20% of my income until the amount is settled and seemed to be rushing to do this. I asked what other options I had because this did not seem right, then I again asked for something in writing explaining this issue. Right in the middle of my sentence, he accused me of a stall tactic and abruptly hung up on me. That was very rude and unprofessional. Totally uncalled for as I had not raised my voice, called him any names or acted rudely in any way. If anybody was trying a stall tactic, it was him. He’s trying to rush to collect on something that this shady excuse for a company hasn’t verified in writing and gets mad and hangs up on me for simply asserting my rights.

Called at 12:57pm on 1/22/20
From 716-362-6057
This call was received after I repeatedly told Mr. F that I could not receive these types of calls at work. He called to tell me that this was his final call and that due to the lack of contact on my end, they were forced to write me off as a “direct refusal for voluntary cooperation”. This was after I called and spoke with him that same morning and attempted to get further information on this claim in writing and tried to discuss options to get this cleared. This was after Mr. F hung up on me as I pleaded with him for a workable solution. To say that I refused voluntary cooperation is a completely deceptive and blatant lie.

These people are sharks. They are vicious, callous and rude. They should be shut down for their savage and unlawful practices. I will spread this far and wide.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I did not ask to not be contacted. I asked not to be called at work because I can't receive those types of calls at work. The company can call my cell phone and I asked for this claim to be sent to me in writing so that I have an opportunity to review and dispute it. If your company policy is to be rude and hang up on a customer, then you seriously need to review and change that policy. I was trying my best to do what's proper, obtain the information I needed to sort this all out and try to come to a peaceful resolution. To be hung up on by the representative and then accused of "lack of contact" and a "direct refusal for voluntary cooperation" is a lie and a total misrepresentation of what actually happened. This is unacceptable. Regards

After receiving multiple complaints from Ms., the account has been closed here in our office. In Ms.’s desired resolution, she states that she would like no more calls at work. Our representative attempted to call Ms.’s cell phone number on January 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd. No response was received from Ms.. We will send out information regarding this account to the mailing address we have on file for Ms.. Directions for properly disputing the debt will be included on the notice.

Harassing family attempting to coerce credit card information. Various individuals from "Northwood Assest Management" called my father, and stepmother from three different numbers within a period of 3 days. Company claiming to be "Collection Agency" called from: 336-790-4072 and 585-243-6234. Agency claimed to be located in NY, yet using multiple numbers to harass my family - threatening legal action.

To Whom it may concern, Mr.’s account was placed here in our office on January 8, 2020. A representative began reaching out to contact Mr. on January 17, 2020. Contact was never made with Mr.. All the phone numbers have been removed and the account has been closed in our office. Mr. will receive no more correspondence from our company. Thank you, Ashley B Northwood Asset Management Group

The lady named Stacy from this business continued to call my cell and work phone, then proceeded to ask to speak with my supervisor which is highly inappropriate and against the law. I told her if she calls my job again, I will contact LE and she said there will be no more further attempts. I told her good, stop calling my phone. I have never heard of any bill collectors trying to contact you at work as many times as she did asking to speak to a supervisor. I don't know why they called or what they want, but I ended the conversation there. Highly inappropriate

I had someone hacked into my bank account back in may of 2019 when the person hack into my bank account it let me with nothing I had acquired a loan from web loan and a have been sold to Norwood asset management group right before this accuried I didn't even know who they was at first untill they started calling me repeatedly lady named Katie that called my job on December 31st and left a message to the point that they were so concerned that they called me over a $433 balance I asked them not to call my job anymore I had made 2 other payment and had started at the beginning of October my had a representative treat me unfairly be rude and nasty over a payment over payment that was decline do to false identity theift which is all over everything that I currently have. I've never been threatened in this matter as far as going to garnish some buddies wages for $433 and some change when you're actually trying to. stated that I didn't set up payment that I didn't try to reach out to them and I had been talking to a different representative that had changed you didn't set up to payments that actually cleared and because one was declined or you had multiple payments the decline I'll try to tell the director that were I had posted any that he was going to have a lot of payment that bounced off of that account anyway and you said I couldn't have more than three and was just set up in October.I just don't think that you should treat people in that manner I don't think that you should tell people that there difficult to work with and that is the first time you've ever talk to them that they had left you numerous emails that are not there voicemails when they call from random numbers I think that even if you were a deck collection agency that you should be better with people than that. you know there may be a reason why the payment decline you should reach out to them other than telling them that there difficult or hard to work with or they have to pay the final total that I can't set up payments it because they don't want to work with you anymore and because I don't have the the full 380 and said of the the payment that they want then they can't do anything for me anymore so I think that you should be a better business they but don't know that you experience all of these things from somebody trying to be you still in your identity and they knew about it when it happened you know then head me speak to manager that wasn't much more helpful that told me that his title was this director of that debt collection agency you know I'm too I guess make his self fill important and some kind of way in told me that you know they didn't have to have good customer service and I told him that you're right you don't but you know you still don't have to treat people in that manner Manor even if you're collecting debt can you you answer a question why is a debt collection agency calling your employment for verification that you work thereand that they were going to be sending forms over to my job my job doesn't answer to you that was a bit much for me today

I am in the process of repaying a debt owed, and this organization is handling the collection. I have every intention of repaying the debt and have a plan in place. Every question I have asked, request I have made, and issue that I have encountered has been met with rudeness, disrespect, and inhuman unkindness. I have been cut off, hung up on, and laughed at. My family members have been contacted, my reputation has been damaged. I have received calls from "spoof" numbers - phone numbers that begin with my area code, but this business is not located in my state.

Northwood Asset Management Group Response • Dec 30, 2019

As requested by Ms. the representative has been removed from working the account. We have placed the account into a “do not contact” status and Northwood Asset Management Group will no longer place any outbound calls to Ms. or any other number on the account. Ms.’s payment arrangement is still active here in our office and she may call in and speak with a member of our management team to make any changes to her plan.

I have told this company (a lady) to stop calling my place of employment, because I am not to receive personal calls, now there is a man calling and I have told him to stop calling also. Today he called again (I didn't know who was calling) and asked for my boss, I said he wasn't here and that he is in and out because of the weather. The caller rattled off a cell number and I said yes, thinking it was someone my boss knew (I have no idea how he got my boss's cell phone number). He then called my boss's cell number. I filed bankruptcy and it took care of all my debts. I have never received anything in writing from this company regarding this collection matter and I am unsure if it is even a legitimate account or some type of scam. It is not my fault the bought bad loans from other companies.
