Northwood Asset Management Group Reviews (%countItem)

Last week I received a call from Northwood Asset Management Group from Paul M at *** , I asked him to put in writing any details of a debt that I owe . I don’t know this person he asked for my address , I asked him to email me details of debt . He was a little nasty when I asked for a email to be sent . I then called him back 5 minutes later he was nasty again he had no time for me was rude and hung up . Today I received a back dated collection letter to November 28 . I’ve passed this letter to my attorney who is helping with my debt resolution. It appears Paul M has no customer service skills , he must of thought I would just give my information over the phone to a party I don’t know . He lied to me today I received a email from him I’ve passed this to my attorney. It’s very unfair that collection agencies like this one have employees that are poorly trained . I’ve read on the Internet that there are complaints against this collection agency they are in New York I’m in Florida do they have the right to threaten me as they did in there letter that’s back dated with a judgement . This letter has been sent to my attorney. The telephone number to Northwood Asset Management Group is

Hello, I never received any other correspondence from this collection agency or documents from them . As written prior the party that I spoke to Paul M was extremely rude . I never heard from anyone at Northwood Asset Management Group.

Note was left on my desk asking me to return a call to Nw Asset Management. Leaving a number with an ext. I called the number and got a lady who was extremely rude and talked over me. Threatening to contact my employer and not letting me ask any questions or answer any. I ask if I could call back as I was at work and she proceeded to be ruder. Finally told her I would call back at 11 or before. Returned the call got a different person ask to have something sent in the mail and gave address. He said he would get that sent. Received another call this one was a local number message was left. Returned that call spoke to a lady explained that I had spoke to another lady that was extremely rude and did not care to speak to her again and she put
Me on hold and connected me to the rude lady again I need a debt verification before payment arrangements will be made. They would not listen talked overmeand very rude. Not sure if this is a scam or but it sure is looking that way

They called and read off my SSN and birthdate before I ever stated my first name. They proceeded to call my wife and threaten me via voicemail stating "we have your personal information"

We have investigated the complaint and have found a singular contact between our office and Mr.. The recording reveals that the collector identified Mr. both by first and last name, electing to spell out the last name as he was concerned about the pronunciation. Mr. acknowledges that the collector is speaking to “***” and then the collector further identifies the policy holder with a birthdate and the last four numbers of his social security number. It is at the point that the collector begins to inform the policy holder of his rights with a recitation of the mini- Miranda warning that Mr. disconnects the call. There are two message left at two other numbers, none of which disclose any information regarding, the debt nor his personal information.

I had taken out an installment loan and was behind on payments and got sent to collections. The first representative- James D - was easy to work with about payments. Then he was fired or quit and I had to work with Sam S who was rude and condescending. He was hard to work with especially when I was having multiple family emergencies but was still trying to make some type of payment. So I called his supervisor and she allowed me to make two smaller payments but then wanted $2,000 to pay off the loan in full in March when Mr s*** had said my payments would go to August. Last week I called the company where I originally took out the loan, they said *** was the company that took over my account so I contacted them. They allowed me to set up a payment plan for a lower amount so I could pay things off easier. Well today - 2/26/18- NAM group doesn't bother to call my phone but calls my husband who's on the road for work and leaves an automated message. So I call back and the guy barely lets me speak (didn't get his name but he said he's a senior asset manager there). I told him I had left a message earlier in the week saying I would deal with *** from now on. And he said 'so you can't make a payment today?' I told him no and repeated that I'd be dealing with ***. He said he'd note my account and collections actions would continue and 'good luck' and hung up on me.

After careful review of the attached complaint, it was found that our representatives have worked with the consumer on many different occasions, adjusting the original payment arrangement every time to accommodate the consumer with no complaint ever made. Furthermore, it was confirmed with our client *** Services that the consumer has never spoken to them regarding this account and that the consumer has a history of advising ***'s agencies they outsource business to that she has spoken to *** on this and other accounts when their phone records do not reflect ever having a conversation with the consumer regarding any of the accounts she has in collections. We have closed the account out in our office so no more calls will be made from our company. We feel any complaint made, at this point is completely unfounded and question the legitimacy of her statement.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I have a payment arrangement set with them through their site with payments of $215.07 set to come out of my account each month until the balance is paid off beginning 3/8/18. I spoke with Kaitlin at the NAM group yesterday and sent her a copy of the arrangement but it bounced back because I forgot the 'g' in the email address domain so after speaking to her again today I resent the documentation to the correct email with the subject line 'attention Kaitlin'. Regards

We have closed the account out in our office and have not made any further calls as per the consumers request. We are unsure what needs to be done further as there is no additional request in the rejection of our initial statement. We consider this matter closed and advise the consumer to seek any further concerns with *** directly.

This organization continues to harass myself and our extended family with phone calls looking for another family member that we don't have contact with. We have ask numerous for them to stop the phone calls and have not done so.

After careful review of the attached allegations, it was found that there was 1 phone call placed to on 2/19/18 where a message was left on a voicemail that identified as ***. We then received an extremely vulgar voicemail from *** filled with profanity and threats of legal action against our company if we called again. The number was promptly removed as per our company policy. If *** is receiving numerous calls from multiple companies looking for his brother, there is nothing we can do about that which seems to be the case, however per our phone records, there was only 1 call made to his number by our office. No more calls will be made to the number provided per his request.

I would like to file a formal complaint against Northwood Asset Management Group (NAMG) LLC. NAMG (a creditor) has apparently received an account of my elderly mother’s (*** E. ***). Instead of following up specifically with my mother, NAMG calls my cell phone (), my home phone () and my wife’s (*** L ***) cell phone (), multiple times per day at multiple days a week from . I have never been a part of any credit application with my mother, nor am I or my family on any financial documents of hers. This is unwarranted harassment from a private business that I have no dealings with. In addition, this behavior of NAMG constitutes multiple violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Section 804, #3: “not communicate with any such person more than once unless requested to do so by such person or unless the debt collector reasonably believes that the earlier response of such person is erroneous or incomplete and that such person now has correct or complete location information.” Section 805, b – Communicating with 3rd Parties “Except as provided in section 1692b of this title, without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector, or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, or as reasonably necessary to effectuate a post judgment judicial remedy, a debt collector may not communicate, in connection with the collection of any debt, with any person other than the consumer, his attorney, a consumer reporting agency if otherwise permitted by law, the creditor, the attorney of the creditor, or the attorney of the debt collector.” Section 806 (harassment of abuse), #5: “Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number;” and #6: “Except as provided in section 1692b of this title, the placement of telephone calls without meaningful disclosure of the caller's identity.” I am reporting this complaint today as they have now been calling us on the three numbers listed above for 2-3 months.

Northwood Asset Management Group Response • Jan 31, 2018

After careful review of the attached complaint, it was found that the only live contact our company has had with any number associated with the account in

our office was on 1/30/17 when Mr *** called to inform us that we were calling the wrong number. According to our phone records, we do not show any

other calls made to any of the additional numbers he listed other than his cell phone. Upon his request, the number was removed immediately. We cannot

control calls he receives from other companies, which must be the case if he is receiving calls on the additional phone numbers he provided. Further more, the

account has been closed with our office and returned to our client, so no more call will be made from our company regarding this matter. We feel that this

complaint is unfounded as no laws were broken during the time this account was worked by our company.

All the nice representatives are fired or quit. Everyone else is just plain rude

My complaint is harassing phone calls from Northwood Asset Management Group or better known as NAM Group. They're number is listed with a plethora of complaints a Mrs. R called saying they are trying to collect. No notices were ever received and I don't owe any creditors except my car payments and credit cards. They have called harassing my family member and myself which needs to stop. This is literraly making me very sick. My phone rings as private or they make up some other phone number as a tactic.

I am asking that this stops now. If you Google their number and company there are lists with tons of complaints. I now let those calls go to voicemail. I want this stopped immediately before I seriously have an anxiety attack. I have also done enough research to know this is a scam. These people and company need to be investigated.

Northwood Asset Management Group Response

Upon careful review of the attached allegations, it was found that on 9/22/17 the consumer was transferred to our office directly from our client *** who had purchased her *** credit card debt. When speaking to our representative, after she acknowledged the debt, she apologized for having an issue with her most recent payment due to a late direct deposit issue and set up her series of payments again that she previously had on file, to pay off her delinquent debt. Previously to that, there was 1 attempt made on 9/21 where 3 calls were made in the attempt to contact her and advise her of the problem. At no point was there any form of harassment, nor did she advise us of any issues what so ever with the way we have been handling her account. Although this complaint has us very confused, we have deleted all future payments that the consumer had set up and have closed the account out from our office and sent it back to our client with her remaining balance. We also show she had received both notifications we had sent to her email which she had verified with us prior to sending it. The notices were opened from computers using the IP address' of *** & ***

There will be no more contact from our office. We feel this compliant is completely unfounded.
