My experience with Ocwen is negative. As a struggling borrower trying to retain my home, Ocwen accesses excessive other fees and charges on my account. certified mailers and etc. When I go to the post office and send a certified mail to my tenants because they are behind on their rent. I have to pay for the certified mailing fee. when I went to court one day added that fee in with the past due fees the judge waived those charges. I was told that, that was my preference to do certified mail. so I feel like the same for Ocwen, it is the company's preference to use certified mail and I should not have to pay for it.

I have a very positive relationship with Ocwen...maybe the reason for this is because I make my payments in a timely manner...why would Ocwen or any other mortgage servicing company treat a customer, who is in good standing, with anything less than respect, courtesy, and a willingness to help the customer?...this is a sound business practice that benefits both parties...and the opposite side of this practice hurts both parties. I do not believe, for one minute, that any of these complaining customers have a history of a timely payment record. I am going to support Ocwen and "stick" by Ocwen. [redacted]

Ocwen is unable to provide a current amortization schedule on my loan online. I can do my math, I'll be moving my business somewhere else online.

This company is horrible. My loan was purchased by them and we have had nothing but problems with their yearly escrow analysis. In 2014 we were told that we did not pay one month of escrow (which is interesting because I paid the payment every month) and they raised the monthly payment. Guess what? When we asked them about it, they sent new escrow analysis statements that had a different month deleted, over and over this happened. Now for the new one that just came out the exact thing happened. Now my payment is to high to pay because it went up so much. It is hard to explain how a company can continue doing this year after year and get away with it. As I was reviewing all of my information I found that my homeowners insurance actually went down over $300. I would stay away from this company at any cost.

Absolutely horrible, these people scam, scam, scam!!!! there is always a shortage in esc account, just found out that they are charging us 1800 more a year for my taxes, they have my taxes up to $10,500 should be 1800 less... called them, they said they re evaluate the taxes once a year, we nee to wait till Dec to get the overage back.... then when Dec comes, they tell you the overages are going toward phoney shortages, all Indians, no one speaks English!!

I went from having good credit with my former mortgage company to a year's worth of hassle when Ocwen took over my loan. For one year now I have tried to keep them from foreclosing on my home. I am in a trial loan modification period and they have ruined my credit. I continue to be given incorrect and inaccurate information from the 'relationship managers' that I can only speak to if I set up an appointment. Last week I received a letter dated 8/30/14 which included an announcement that an additional dollar amount would be added to my monthly mortgage amount effective March 1, 2014- almost six months ago!
The foreclosure process never should have started and should have been reversed by Ocwen so that I could continue making my timely payments and preserving my good credit. A formal apology should be issued to me and all their customers who are being mistreated and misinformed.

I am very happy with this company. God blessed me. I could safe my house. I got modification.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 12130521, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

My Modification experience with Ocwen was a little rocky when we started the process.
Then the right personnel was assigned to my case and it was a beautiful ending, My Mortgage monthly payment went from $953.00 to $234.00 per month and my Prinicial went from $129,000.00 to $58,000.00.
Thank you Ocwen Bank.

I tried since March 2014 to resolve a problem w/ Ocwen taking our taxes out Twice to put in the escrow acc't., which made them raise our payments, over $147 per month.. After writing their Ombudsman twice, calling them on the phone multiple times, writing letters, etc. etc. I finally wrote to the Attorney Generals' office in 3 states, and the MI Finacial Service Dept. in July-Aug. They in turn fwd. the letters to my State of MI Attorney General....then finally Ocwen acknowledged their mistake in Aug. (the mistake that they would not acknowledge from my letters or phone calls to them)
I just now received the overpayment that they had taken for 4 months , but it took the letters from the Attorney General of my state to get it done !! I have now stopped the escrow and will pay my taxes and HO Ins. myself.... As I'm certain that it would happen again, and I certaily do not want that aggravation !! Ocwen took over our loan after GMAC filed bancrupcy., and we had no choice in the matter..

I own several homes and two of my loans are with Ocwen. Every year Ocwen has consistently make errors with my impound account ranging from incorrect calculations to paying hazard insurance policies on real property that has nothing to do with this loan or the property. Yes you read that correctly they paid a hazard insurance policy for a home "real property that is not the property secured by the loan and paid 2 hazard insurance policies on a home secured by the lan and a home that has nothing to do with the loan and then they told me I need to get my money back from the insurance company. To add to this trying to explain this to folks in India was as productive as talking to an inanimate object. So when anyone says they are happy with the service they are just the lucky 1 percent. How do I know this? Ocwen services more than one loan for me and this happens on all accounts and I have other mortgage services for other properties and this stuff never happens.

We have Home Equity Line of Credit. We used this to pay off a credit card. After assuming it has been processed, we were notified by the Credit Card company that account "frozen" by Ocwen, and the bank charged us a $50.00 fee. Our statement from Ocwen shows we have in excess of $18000.00 available. After mannnnnny phone calls to Ocwen, no one has been able to advise why account "frozen". The Credit Card payment was only $6000.00.

Ocwen has failed repeatedly to uphold its contractual responsibility for timely payment of insurance premiums. Since taking control of the mortgage account on my property from GMAC in 2013, Ocwen Loan Servicing has failed to pay insurance premiums timely in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Each time they have offered hollow reasons for missing the payment, such as "your account isn't escrowed for insurance", and "Ocwen has not received notice of billing". Each time it has taken numerous, lengthy calls, and many transfers inclusive of long hold times for Ocwen to acknowledge their failure and ultimately tender payment. This time, with payment having been promised on several occasions, the bill nearly 2 months overdue, and cancelation of the insurance policy pending, I paid the premium personally. This after exhausting more than twelve hours speaking with various Ocwen agents over the last six weeks. Ocwen's "customer service" is not customer service. It's merely a jumble of canned responses, poor excuses, and nonexistent follow-through.

First let me apologize to the Revdex.com and to the customer for a lot of miscommunication regarding this vehicle.  It is a high mileage older vehicle with multiple concerns and unfortunately the customer has limited funds for repair.  It first came towed to us by AAA on 6/22/16 with a stall, no...

run issue under name [redacted]  Immediate need was identified as replacement of fuel pump, fuel pump relay and fuel filter.  This was repair made to get vehicle back on the road.  Customer did note a check engine light concern which were anti theft codes at that time.  Vehicle final test driven and no check engine light was on.  Customer picked up vehicle and immediately returned because, although running well, check engine light came on again.  Service adviser checked vehicle codes at no charge and had multiple check engine codes noted, one of them including a camshaft position sensor code.  Service adviser told customer he would need further diagnosis and funds to determine vehicle needs.  Customer returned on 4/17/17 under a different name which added to the confusion and wanted camshaft position sensor changed.  Customer said she was supplying camshaft position sensor and necessary gaskets.  Service adviser speaking with [redacted]  Advised her she needed diagnosis for check engine light concern and that he did not recommend just replacing the camshaft position sensor.  She was advised that part would be changed but against our recommendation and without any warranty.  She agreed.  Part was changed and other issues identified and replaced, including oil sending unit and a vacuum hose. [redacted] called back during repair and wanted spark plugs changed and we complied.  No problem with spark plug wires were observed.[redacted] returned with vehicle 4/24/17 and thought there was a problem with oil pressure reading.  Oil pressure and oil pressure reading were Normal.  [redacted] complained of check engine light on and it was explained again that they need additional diagnosis and funds to determine what exactly was triggering check engine light as it appeared to have multiple issues.  [redacted] also accused shop staff of breaking his molded black plastic engine cover, which was not broken and exactly molded like that from manufacturer. When staff members attempted to show [redacted] a picture from Cadillac web site of his exact engine cover to show it was not damaged or broken, customer lost temper and became irate.  He jerked papers out of staff's hands and began yelling and cursing from back of shop to front of shop in front of multiple witnesses including a State Farm staff member.  Customer was threatening in demeanor and police were called using company panic button.  Customer was told that he was not welcome on our property and that due to his actions and threatening demeanor he would have to leave and would not be allowed back.  He eventually complied.  Police arrived and a police report was filed with Kenner Police Dept.  The police officer confirmed that we did the right thing by calling for assistance and filing a report.  On the day we received the Revdex.com complaint, [redacted] was calling the shop repeatedly with threatening phone calls.  Then [redacted] called and my service manager explained the whole set of circumstances and that we had to call the police and that we could no longer work on their vehicle. She was very surprised and did not know [redacted] had escalated like that.  She said that she would handle it and we have received no more threats.  I am greatly sorry for all of the confusion and for the complaint, but given the circumstances, we feel we did the best job we could.  Please let me know if we should respond in any further way.  We greatly appreciate any and all feedback.  Lorena G[redacted] ###-###-####

Just made the 6th call to Ocwen (who purchased my mortgage). Last month they begin charging me an extra $600 a month. When I contacted them to find out why they just kept telling me that it was not a problem and they would send me a statement to show why. I received the statement and it shows clearly the reason for this that reason being they paid my neighbors property taxes, on top of mine, and are now charging me the extra money to pay for that $6000 a year difference. I have had several mortgage companies since purchasing my house but this is hands-down the most inept company I've ever dealt with. The fact that their customer Service center is in India definitely does not help as they do not understand culturally what is acceptable to say and of course communication is difficult. Everyone they told me it was "not a problem" I wanted to travel to to India to slap them. Clearly, it is a problem for me or else I wouldn't be calling so many times. So a week later, I'm being told that they should resolve it within 3 to 5 business days but of course they continue to take out $150 extra a week out of my account. right now, with us trying to buy a new house, money is as tight as ever so it is very frustrating to me that they can't figure it out and that they made the mistake from the beginning.
