July 20, RE: Case# *** To Whom It May Concern: We are in receipt of the above referenced complaint filed with your office concerning Complainant’s Grand Circle Cruise Line
(“GCCL”) trip called “Great Rivers of Europe” which departed on June 5, The Complainant’s flight was delayed in London Heathrow by two hours, and we were not advised of this by ComplainantIn our final documents, we ask travelers to contact us at a special emergency number that we provide if their flight is going to be delayed, so that we can make arrangements to pick them up at the airportBecause we were not advised of this, we were unable to have anyone ready at the airport to meet Complainant in a timely fashionAlthough there was a delay, Complainant was ultimately provided with transportation from the airport to the shipDespite this, as a gesture of apology, we provided wine and a basket of fruit in Complainant’s roomIn addition, after discussing this with Complainant after her return home, we provided a credit for future travel in the amount of $25.00, the value of the transfer from the airport to the shipWe feel that we have settled this situation in a reasonable fashion, and we consider the matter closedIf there are any further questions regarding this issue, I can be reached at *** *** *** Sincerely, *** *** Traveler Relations

Upon reexamination of Complaintant's flights, we found that these had not been corrected in our systemOncethey were corrected to reflect the cancellation of the England, Scotlad & Wales trip, there was no extra fee for the flight cost, so we will be removing the $from their invoiceThe $fee for canceling the flight from Reyjavik to London is still valid howeverI apologize for our error in not previously adjusting these flights

We are in receipt of the above referenced complaint filed with your office
concerning Complainant’s Grand Circle
Travel (“GCT”) tour called “Best
of the Canadian Rockies: Calgary to Vancouver” departing on July 25,
We have reviewed the phones calls made between Complainant and GCT, and we
felt there was some confusion regarding the circumstances under which the third
party Travel Protection Plan that we make available to our travelers offers a
refund instead of a voucher for future travelBecause of this, we are voiding
the $voucher that Complainant received and are refunding the $
cancellation fee as well as the $that Complainant paid for the Travel
Protection Plan
Complainant also mentioned that she was charged $for third party air
travel protectionIn reviewing invoices for the trip, this item is offered as
an optional item, and Complainant did not pay for itWe have advised
Complainant of this, and she plans to review her invoices to be certain this is
the case
Complainant asked about our Best Price Guarantee on September 17, At
that time, our Best Price Guarantee was only valid for Grand Circle Cruise Line
(“GCCL”) tripsAlthough we do now have a Best Price Guarantee program for GCT
trips, this was not instituted until November 17,

We applied for the 6/19, 7/or 8/departures with free extension to BrugesWe were offered a july departure for $4395, about twice the cost. We worked to interest friends in this trip and are very frustrated and embarassed that it's not available. Now we're several more days into the promotion with many more berths sold. How many of the advertised trips were available when the promotion was planned? How many were still available when the postcard was likely to be delivered to homes several days later? How can recipients fairly access this promotion?

I would like to say that Mr*** *** the representative who contacted me did an excellent job of explaining the system problem and being empathic to my concerns and reassuring me of the Grand Circle's ability to competently provide services. HOWEVER, the Senior VP of Traveler Relations, MrS***, who I called and left a voicemail for, NEVER had the courtesy to respond!! Not even to indicate the matter had been delegated. Sad, very sad that senior executives do not respond to customers. Having been an SVP in two large complex consumer organizations, I am extremely disappointed in Mr***'s lack of response. Evidently, individual customers do not matter to Mr***

*** And *** *** And ***According to OAT we requested a customized flight costing $340.00, this is not trueWe spoke to a sales person many times discussing the airfare options and we chose an option that we thought met our needs from Iceland to England and Scotland to USAWe realized that there would be an additional fee because we were returning from Scotland instead of IcelandWe were not informed that this would be a non refundable expenseSince we cancelled the England/Scotland tour the additional airfare portion of the trip should no longer apply

trips called “Ireland in Depth” scheduled to be departing on April 21, 2017, GCT trip “England, Scotland and Wales” tentatively scheduled for April 2018, and Grand Circle Cruise Line (“GCCL”) trip “Holland & Belgium in Springtime” scheduled to depart on April 18,
Complainant paid in full for the “Ireland in Depth” trip, a total of $4,357.41, which included a non-refundable cost of $for the *** travel protection plan, on December 19, Complainant accepted GCT’s Terms and Conditions on January 4, through our websiteOn February 17, 2017, we refunded $37.41, leaving a total on Complainant’s reservation of $4,Complainant canceled this trip on April 12, 2017, days prior to the trip’s departureOur Terms and Conditions, which can be found on our website at ***, state that, for land tour cancellations days or fewer prior to the date of departure, the cancellation fee is 100% of the selling priceNo refund was due from GCT, and Complainant needs to submit a claim to *** to recover the $3,(Complainant’s payment of $4,less the $refund less the non-refundable $cost of the travel protection.)
On the “England, Scotland & Wales”, Complainant only paid a deposit of $on February 12, Complainant canceled this reservation on April 12, Because this was only a pending reservation, we refunded the full $to Complainant’s *** card on April 12,
On Complainant’s “Holland & Belgium in Springtime” tour, a deposit was paid of $on February 12, 2017, $of which was the non-refundable cost of the *** travel protection planComplainant canceled this trip on April 12, Our Terms and Conditions state that, for river cruise cancellations made days or more prior to the departure of the trip, the cancellation fee is $We refunded $to Complainant’s *** card on April 18, Complainant needs to submit a claim to *** to recover the $(Complainant’s payment of $less the $refund less the non-refundable $cost of the travel protection.)
