Re:       Case #[redacted]To Whom It May Concern:When Complainant called us to book this trip he was informed by our call center that the pricing was incorrect.  No deposit was taken and no sale occurred.  After further investigation we explained it to Complainant that we are not able to offer the erroneous price. While we are very sorry that the mistake occurred and for any ill-feeling this caused Complainant, we do reserve the right to correct pricing errors as previously explained. April 24, 2018 RE:       Case# [redacted]               To Whom It May Concern:   We are in receipt of the above referenced complaint filed with your office concerning Complainant’s Overseas...

Adventure Travel (“O.A.T.”) trip called “[redacted]” that departed on March 28, 2018.   A supervisor, as well as a member of our Traveler Relations team have been trying repeatedly to contact Complainant through the phone number we have on file over the last week. This number does not allow us to leave messages, so an email was sent to her on April 23 requesting a copy of the receipt for the airline ticket. We have not heard back from her at this time.   As of today, we are processing a refund of $887.33 to cover the cost of Complainant’s air ticket due to this error. May 1, 2017RE:       Case# [redacted]               To Whom It May Concern:   We are in receipt of the rebuttal regarding Complainant’s canceled trips. We are not unsympathetic to Complainant’s situation, but we must stand by our Terms & Conditions. Complainant indicates that items like medical records, etc. were provided to us, but I believe these would have been provided to [redacted] is not part of Grand Circle Corporation, and we have no control over how they handle a claim. Complainant needs to follow-up with them regarding this claim. the tour guide is a liar. we were told it was going to be hot wear shorts if you want to!!! I do what I am told ask any of the members that were on the trip from my group that he said this. they can call me at 518/857/5042. thanks

I am dismayed that they consider the responsibility of clarity on the customer.  The information would have not been misunderstood if the flyer was clear and forthcoming.  The consumer is misled with the cost and the stated two dates for that promotion.  The onus of the responsibility falls on the company.  The consumer is being misled deliberately .  Their response is not only unfair but shows poor " best practice" and not in line with the goals of the Revdex.com.  Finally, I call it appalling that they would insult the intelligence of the consumer (myself) by claiming I was confused.

Travel (“OAT”) trip called “Ultimate Africa” scheduled to be departing on May 8, 2017.   After reviewing Complainant’s concerns, we have determined that this was not properly handled at the time that he spoke with us. We have determined that the correct course of action is to refund Complainant the amount of $449.97, which we are rounding up to $450.00. I have advised Complainant of this, and he was satisfied with my response. Complainant received.   In all of our advertising, use of the word “from” indicates a base price for a trip, which can vary based on the date of the trip and other options added to the trip. These small flyers have very limited room for information, so we indicate the lowest possible price and dates that were available with a discount. In fact, the November 5 departure is, as indicated in the flyer, available at a discount of $800.00, so it can be arranged for $1,195.00 per person. Other November dates are also available for $1,995.00. We’re sorry Complainant was confused by our literature, but we will not lower the October 13 price below its discounted price, which is $2,045.00. The company is referring to "terms and conditions" that I accepted for another trip entirely.  These terms obviously do not carry over from trip to trip since they have you accept the "terms and conditions" for each trip you book.  Why did I have to accept the "terms and conditions" for the trip I booked in May, 2015 since I had accepted them three or four years ago for another trip with [redacted]?  The company offered me a trip at one price which I accepted and then tried to book.  They then invoiced me for nearly double the offered amount.  Isn't that bait and switch?

(“GCF”) trip called “Cuba: Camaguey to Havana” departing on March 1, 2016.
We have been in contact with Complainant in regards to this issue, as the airline did not initially make us aware of the lost baggage. At this time, the luggage has been located and is being held by [redacted], our partner in Cuba. They are being sent today by [redacted], and we expect them to be delivered by Wednesday, March 23.

November 22, 2017RE:       Case# [redacted]               To Whom It May Concern:   We are in receipt of the above referenced complaint filed with your office concerning Complainant’s Overseas...

Adventure Travel (“OAT”) trip called “Morocco Sahara Odyssey” that departed on September 27, 2017. In order to guarantee that some of the optional extensions we offer will not be canceled, we initially require travelers to take them if they choose to travel on certain dates. Once we have enough travelers reserved to guarantee the extension will depart as planned, we remove the requirement for further travelers. Complainant chose to travel on a date with a required extension, so this was required at the time that the reservation was made. While we’re sorry that Complainant did not enjoy the extension, we provided everything that was advertised as an included feature of the trip. We can’t control the noise from an adjoining bar, and this would not be something we could offer a refund for.We don’t offer credits for optional tours for travelers having been referred by other travelers. Although we usually offer a referral credit, in this case Complainant received a $500.00 discount on the trip rather than the normal $100.00 credit that we offer, and these two offers are not combinable. As a gesture of good will, we created a $100.00 credit for a future trip for Complainant due to the confusion, but this would not be forthcoming as a refund.If there are any further questions regarding this issue, I can be reached at [redacted] Sincerely,   [redacted]Traveler Relations

I definitely "REJECT" their response. They have offered no compensation or acceptable explanation of their policy to require some tour participants to take the optional tour while others are not. I am still very dissatisfied with the company and their response. Thank you.

Overseas Adventure Travel (“OAT”) trip called “[redacted]” scheduled to be departing on February 8, 2017.   Complainant accepted the Terms & Conditions on our website on March 18, 2017. Part of these Terms & Conditions outlines the cancellation policy for our tours, which indicates that there is a $300.00 per person cancellation fee for any trip canceled outside of 90 days prior to the departure of the trip. Complainant could have purchased the Travel Protection Plan, but this would have involved spending $1,798.00 to recover the $300.00 per person cancellation fee.   Complainant has the option to have us move the $700.00 deposit to a pending reservation; this would allow them to use it on a future trip. This was offered to Complainant in their phone conversation with a supervisor here on September 5, and this would be the best way for Complainant to avoid losing their deposit.   Sincerely,   [redacted] Traveler Relations Overseas Adventure Travel

 We were told $600, we expect that in cash, not credit. With Oats history with us, we will never travel with them. So what is the credit really worth to us.

Revdex.com: [redacted] is this travel company's insurance.  I paid $500 per trip, $1500 to be insured should I not be able to take the trips.  My husband died and I was in the hospital and unable to take the trips and they refuse to reimburse me, all of the information, hospital records, doctors, medical records were provided to [redacted] Grand Circle Travel's insurance company.
