Hello,

Please understand that we did not know that you were a non-profit.  Our apologies for sending you a letter.  You have been removed from our database.

Also, please know that the letter which you received was a marketing...

solicitation, not a formal offer for credit.

We will not contact you again.

Regards,
Pacific

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
>>and closing the circle the company now proposes I should call or EVEN stop by their office to 'resolve' the issue!..
>just like so many others reported the whole purpose of this SCAM is to get the targeted person on the phone (or even in person!) with this outfit and attempt to get additional personal info for the purposes of up-selling loan/credit etc.
That is the issue! and they have to be reported to the authorities for these deceptive practices.
Revdex.com Please put this thread online so others could see what is going on.

Hello,

Can we arrange a call?

Your comments were very concerning and we need to figure out who you spoke with so we can terminate them.  That behavior is completely unacceptable.

We apologize for the...

rude behavior by our team?

Review: Our school received a "Platinum Equipment Lease Card" stating that we had been given a $100,000 line of credit. It included information on how to activate the card and that was all. This card was not requested nor did we apply for it. The information included absolutely no terms or interest rate information, nor how or where this card could be used. Looks very much like an attempt to fish for information from the companies it is sent to. It was also addressed incorrectly (the first and last name were not even in the right order) to a person who has not worked here for over 10 years.Desired Settlement: I would like to see this company stop trying to solicit information from businesses by sending out this suspect offer or line of credit, it not clear what this was exactly.

Hello,

You have been removed from our database. We received your publicly available information from Dun and Bradstreet. We did not send you a formal offer for credit. We are more than willing to speak with you further if you have any additional questions.

Review: Pacific Capital Companies sent a credit card for my company Accurato.com, Inc. without me submitting an application.Pacific Capital Companies sent a credit card for my company Accurato.com, Inc. without me submitting an application. When I called them, they said they had pre-approved me for a line of credit based on my Dun and Bradstreet profile. In the information they sent me, there is no information re: interest rates, payment terms, etc. This was an unsolicited line of credit card that they sent me. I want my name and company removed from their database. I have no idea who they are or anything about their reputation or even whether they are a legitimate company.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I want my name, company name and address removed from their database and the pre-approved line of credit that they have issued cancelled with their company.

Response:

Hello,

Review: I received a letter with a credit card and a credit line of $100,000. I did not request this card or authorize it. I would like to know if there are other cards printed with my name on it. This should be illegal to send an unauthorized card to someone. There is too much identity theft and anyone could have gotten this card, signed my name, and left me with a lot of debt. I will be forwarding this information to the fraud department of our local Police department or FBI, whichever gets results. This business closed in 2011.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter stating this card has not been reported to any credit agencies and that I will never receive anything from this company again.

Response:

Hello [redacted],

Review: My company received a platinum lease card from Pacific Capital Companies LLC. This card included my company name, and the name of a person that is not employed by my company. The card and paperwork included with the card indicated that this unknown person had received $100,000 available credit and should call the listed number to activate the card. The person representing Pacific Capital Companies LLC on the phone did not give me his name. I said that before I was going to tell him my name, I would like to know how my company name was selected for this card. He would not tell me his name and said that the information was collected from [redacted] and [redacted]. I asked if I could have my company name removed from their "list" of contacts. He replied, "sure" and hung up before asking my company name or my name.Desired Settlement: I would like for my company information removed from their "list" of contacts. I would also like to know, for my own benefit, how the unknown person listed with my company name on the platinum lease card, was chosen as someone associated with my company. This company will cause unlimited headaches and credit fraud problems by issuing these so called lease cards to companies and/or unknown persons when the card or product has not been solicited. I would also like to know if this company "sells" their "list" to other companies. Is there a way to prevent companies from soliciting my information from [redacted] and [redacted]?

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: Received unsolicited letter from PCC with "Platinum Card" enclosed for unapplied for and not desired business line of credit. Never heard of PCC, and after checking its web site, given its length of time in business am shocked that Wells Fargo provides funding and want both my personal name and my company's name taken off the mailing list, and any references to any business or personal credit rating agencies removed immediately.Desired Settlement: I also want written confirmation from PCC AND Wells Fargo that this has been done.

Business

Response:

Hello,

You have been removed from our database. We obtained information about your business from publicly available sources like Dun & Bradstreet. We do not have any information about your personal credit and we have not and will not report anything about you to the credit rating agencies.

Review: People receiving "junk mail" from Pacific Capital Companies may likely first conclude that they are victims of fraudulent activity. Realistic plastic cards with our names, account numbers, available line of credit and 888 numbers to call with activation codes are provided for activating this so called card that we of course never applied for. This card was deceptive enough to have me believe that my identity was stolen yet again because many of my id theft cases have started this way. I am taking the time to complain as others have. Tricking consumers into opening up offers is common practice, but making them believe they applied and received credit goes over the line. Reputable companies would never do that.

Take me off your list and change your deceptive tactics.Desired Settlement: Removal from mailing list and a change to Pacific Capital Companies deceptive "junk mail" policies.

Hello,

Review: Received a pre-approved $100,000 credit line from this company that was not requested, and is in the name of an employee who has not worked here in TWO YEARS and the name of my nonprofit organization. This appears to be some kind of scam and is very disturbing to me.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)I have no interest in doing business with this company, and want this company to immediately remove any information about any of my former and current staff and my organization from their database, remove any established line of credit, and remove any remarks that have been added to any of our credit reports.

Business

Response:

Hello,

Review: I received an envelope from Pacific Capital Companies LLC containing a "PLATINUM Equipment Lease Card", this plastic card has the appearance of a credit card with $100,000 credit line, and is in my name and the name of the charitable company where I am CFO.

The card came attached to a letter which, in large type proclaims "Protect Yourself From Fraud Activate Your Card Now!". While the card and letter are apparently a solicitation to do business, they give the appearance that a business relationship already exists: "Here is your new PCC Premier Platinum Card" printed across the letter in caps. I have no intention of doing business with this company and want to be notified that I have been removed from their mailing list.Desired Settlement: I have no interest in doing business with this company, and want this company to immediately remove any information about my company and me from their database, remove any established line of credit, and remove any remarks that have been added to any of my credit reports and notify me in writing that all this have been done.

Response:

Hello,

Review: I received in the regular mail an UNSOLICITED credit card with a $100,000 credit line from this company. This credit card could be easily activated by anyone who opens the envelope. This was UNSOLICITED and the company call center operators hang up when I askd about this practice. When I call back they refuse to forward the call to anyone in a supervisor or manager position.Desired Settlement: Stop this practive of sending UNSOLICITED credit cards. This is a DANGEROUS practice; they cannot control who ultimately activates those credit cards, to the detriment of the business that they issued the credit car to.

Business

Response:

Hello,

We are sorry that this letter gave you the impression that your information had been compromised. This letter was not a formal offer for credit and it would not be possible for a stranger to activate this card for several reasons: this is an offer for business financing, not consumer credit; we conduct a thorough due diligence analysis prior to providing financing; the information that we have about your business is publicly available information, we don't have any of your personal credit information.

I would be more than happy to discuss this with you over the phone or in person. You can get my contact information from the Revdex.com if you would like to connect.

Review: got letter stating I was approved for 1,ooo credit limit was assured it was there and then got these caars and know they wont give me money.

I received a letter in the mail stating I was approved for a $100,000 loan all I had to do was call number and give account number to activate card when I called I was skeptical but they assured me that except for the fact that it was only to be a loan for $1,000.I WAS APPROVED THEY TOLD ME I COULD USE IT TO PURCHASE CARS FOR MY BUSINESS I got someone to look for cars for me and once I found them I got a hold of ian again and made up the agreement and was told to get them when we got them and went to contact ian to give him the vin numbers and what else he asked for he had left and still has not came back. have talked to another person about this and they say that I never had this loan and ian told me I did and when I call the number I still get message that I was approved by dunn and brad streetDesired Settlement: just want people to know that they are fraudulent and they need to be shut down before they due some real harm to someone

Response:

Dear [redacted],

Review: I received a completely unsolicited credit card in the mail. Not a credit card OFFER, and actual CREDIT CARD with an available credit line of $100,000.00, an account number and instructions for activation. I never submitted an application for credit from this company either personally or on behalf of my business. This is a fraudulent service. Because they actually "issued" the credit line to me, I will have to explain to a court of law that I did not in fact apply for credit during the pendency of a personal Chapter 13 bankruptcy, as that is an illegal act. Additionally, I am investigating whether this fraudulent activity should be reported and if so to what governmental agency.Desired Settlement: Remove me and my business from your mailing list and "customer" database.

Hello,

Review: I received what looks like a real credit card in the mail today with an activation code and phone to call to activate (888-986-8184) The credit line is for $100,000.00I did not apply for this card and I am hesitant about contacting this company for fear the card will be activatedDesired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)I would like to know why I received this card as I did not apply for it. And I want my name and my company name removed from their list

Response:

Hello,

Review: Received an unsolicited credit card from this company. I called to ask them to cancel but could not reach them at the 800 number provided.

I am concerned that this is a fraudulent card. I did not apply for this card; it was sent unsolicited. I am a senior citizen and therefore an easy target. This is very bad business practice.Desired Settlement: I would ask the company to cancel my credit card account immediately.

Business

Response:

Hello,

Review: My company just received a pre-approved $100,000 credit line from this company. My company has had no contact with company and never requested any kind of credit from this company, which I never heard of prior to receiving this pre-approved credit line. This appears to be some kind of scam and is unacceptable behavior in this age of identity theft.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)I would like the company to immediately cancel this credit line, permanently remove my and my company's names from their records, and cease sending out these, at least spam in not scam, credit approvals.

Business

Response:

Hello,

Review: Pacific Capital Companies LLC sent my business a credit card with my name and business name printed on it and with an account number assigned, and expiration date of 8/2013. I did not apply for this card. The top of the correspondence with the new card reads "Protect Yourself From Fraud Activate Your Card Now!" It says I have $100K in available credit. Again, I did not apply for or request this card. It is costing my business too much time to ensure that we do NOT have an active account with this company, and that someone didn't try to get an account in our name.Desired Settlement: Stop creating unsolicited accounts and notify unsolicited companies to confirm that no account has been set up.
